Your not in T1 so you don’t know the impact..

You’re not in the lower tiers so you might not realize it, but the rest of us need incentives to increase activity in WvW. While you guys worry about Queues we have to worry about getting enough people in EB to follow the tag, better yet sometimes we don’t even have a tag.

The tournament would be great and I’m hoping for the announcement any day now.

There’s a lot of us in T1 that is really looking forward to a tourney. Many in T1 are there for the 24/7 fights, which has been on the decline for the past 6 months as balance changes from 1 server to another. It would be nice to get a match where all 3 T1 servers can queue all 4 maps for a tight matchup, to determine skills and/or strategy rather than numbers and coverage

The whole point of transferring to a higher tier is to have action outside of NA prime. Wake up early and feel like gaming? Hop on and find the zerg. Likewise if you can’t sleep. Can’t do that in lower tiers.

I’m actually quite looking forward to the next tournament. It’ll be interesting to see how the T2 stacking has affected their coverage and how they stack against T1 servers on the NA side. I don’t think it’ll affect things as much on the EU side for gold league though.

The big reason why people don’t transfer down is because of more action more of the time. Even though basically all of us hate pirate ship meta, having more active players around the clock makes it a better social experience than lower tiers.

SoR is doing better because of a LOT of returning players. They were once a T1 server. You don’t get to T1 without the pug population. That population is being reactivated on SoR due to the expac announcement.

I would strongly decide on a guild before picking a server. Guilds matter way more than servers in this game. Being in a solid guild will make the game fun even when you’re way outnumbered and unable to do anything in WvW.

People still don’t know the difference between framerate drops and latency.

ANet servers can’t handle updating new patch files and having live WvW battles at the same time. Every time an update is about to hit (as well as a few days after), the servers go to absolute crap.

Been there, done that, not worth it.

Sucks most of the fun out of WvW and even though you’ll win matches (provided you have enough coverage), it takes a lot of work from a very few people, resulting in those few people burning out very quickly.

PPT is kinda important to gauge balance and activity in relationship to the other servers in the matchup, but not much beyond that. Coverage wars to try win PPT is lame. What the new map shows us is that ANet wants to divert the focus back to PPT instead of the current player created open field/fights/GvG fun in WvW.

They should’ve just introduced an open map with interesting open terrain with 3 camps and a single castle in the middle, with all siege disabled except flame rams, and made it “King of the Hill” mode in WvW with points snowballing the longer you own it. It would still be a numbers game, but at least the fights on the map would be kitten amazing :P

Switch to an NA server if you haven’t already. The Ping is better on NA servers compared to EU servers. Marginally, but it does make a difference

In all honesty, Silk is ridiculously easy to get. I’m selling a stack of them nearly every day (usually every 2 days). The price is driven up by people who aren’t willing to do a little grinding and just buy it off the TP. People like me drive the price up by continually offering higher prices for the people who are willing to pay :P

Solo roaming in T1 isn’t really a thing during NA prime. But that’s where the beauty lies. You can log in at any other time and find good fights.

If you can only play during NA prime, then T1 and T2 isn’t for you.

I’d be happy to Preorder right now even if the release was end of next year. I’m going to get it regardless of when it comes out. But theirs a chance that they don’t know what they want to add as a preorder bonus or if theirs going to be a deluxe edition/collectors edition. That and the idea of having a physical box might appeal to some.

Is it possible for any ANet employee to let us know when HoT will be available for pre-ordering from stores? I keep checking in to my local store but they have no news of it as of yet.

When I started reading your post I thought oh yeah typical of mid to low tier servers nowadays.

But wow, you’re on TC? And have that experience? Man WvW is deader than I thought.

That is unreasonably presumptive and inaccurate. It is 2 AM here in middle America and I see 2+ maps queued in T1

The only server that does that is JQ. Both BG and TC gets 0 queues by around 10pm PST

@OP: You’re not looking in the right places. It’s also advisable to join a guild that looks for those kinds of battles if that’s what you’re interested in. You don’t really do anything in WvW as a pug.

There’s a couple Latino guilds around like LUN and BOMB. I think BOMB commander still commands in English though, and I think his native language is Portugese, not Spanish. Not sure about LUN.

There’s been 3 ‘major’ updates to WvW so far since release (WXP, Bloodlust and EoTM). Expansion will only be another map (as far as we know). This is really disappointing.

Which tier are you in?

In higher tiers, roaming/pvping isn’t about the dueling, but teaming up with other players to get stuff done. This is kind of true in all tiers, but lower tiers have less players overall so the general etiquette is that of solo roaming and dueling.

As for builds, you can generally move your build from sPvP into WvW roaming with a little tweaking, but do also remember the food/spanner buffs.
