I signed on for a bit in the evening during prime time on FA and wow, just wow. Outnumbered buff up and when I did see the enemy zergs it wasn’t that outnumbered.

Hello??? Competition where are you? Only reason this game is surviving, let’s be honest. But anet, satisfied with their game won’t help. Some other mmo puts a fire under their kitten watch them scramble.

Come to FA bud, #outnumbered buff 90% of the time and fighters who ain’t scared.

Pretty good points, I’ve spent minor time in pvp and wouldn’t qualify myself to vote on any changes in pvp.

Well we still dont exactly know what’s going to happen. Maybe some servers get relinked, maybe all. Maybe some are relinked with the same servers (just like repeated matchups). I have no idea what the criteria is for the links.

All I know is this: We saw this issue coming a million miles away and concerns for the effects of breaking apart two more or less connected servers that are without any clear definition was voiced the second the news of the links came out. The moment Anet sees WvW as just another EoTM where servers and guilds is irrelevant is the moment WvW dies. Maybe that’s a good thing. I really dont know anymore.

Makes me happy I’m on FA partnered up with BP, those guys are pretty easy going. But you are right, sooner or later wvw is going to be a EoTM format. Anet just can’t resist. They want blobs and pve in wvw, not roamers or unique guilds with healthy competition. These polls are just bait as usual to make you believe “we are listening” strategy. We do it at my job all the time to assure people feel like they are being heard and appreciated but in reality, the decisions have already been made. This is the way of the world and business, to trick the customer and keep them committed that something big is coming

I’m starting to believe anet never really had a plan, just their typical smoke and mirrors act. We seem to be complaining about the same issues, match up staleness, broken builds, condi xyz, blobs, defending, server stacking, roaming dwindling, etc.

They’ve had plenty of feedback and time.

I honestly think based on the lag in previous experiences that wvw would just explode if gliding was into effect. Bellevue would catch on fire and wild fires would take out the entire PNW.

roflmao as well. Every server has skilled fighters. I’ve been on various tiers and servers, there’s some hidden gems out there where an old school T7 roamer would destroy 2-3 “highly skilled” T1 roamers.
BG is considered good because they have many….many havoc crews and rarely go out alone. Get them alone 1v1, their builds are easily identifiable and meta. My buddy still roams up there, every single roamer is the same trash build and easily is countered. Thus our current roaming boredom in the community.

I engineer aquatic systems, I’ll build those little quaggans a massive beautiful system with a floating bar and mesmer waitresses in bikinis. I read that they like salt and freshwater, I’ll include tropical fish and black tipped reef shark aquarium with a restaurant so they can relax from all the roamers that will most likely torment them.

hi im a new player returning, my playstyle consists entirely of obsidian sanctum camping/dueling and roaming. after being away for 2 years, i cant find any action nor guilds in this playstyle. so is there any place/guild/server i can still find people who duel and roam? thanks

For the most part a lot of good roamers moved on to other games. Anet killed small guilds with their awful overhyped xpac and wanted us to grind to even claim a camp.

They want you to blob and be a robot with the same boring builds, diversity in builds has thus died, roamers got bored of the same cancer builds and moved on.

There’s nothing I hate more than average working individuals. Anet seems to be full of those “I’m satisfied” employees. When you are satisfied that’s the end. This game…has met its end.

Boring thiefs as usual takes 5 years to fight them cause they reset the fight over and over when they lose. I just emote laugh at them, light them up, then watch them run.

If you are looking for people to duel look around SM, just watch out for the blobs. Most people will be cool but their has been a rise in kittens that will interrupt lately.

The bl’s offer better roaming fights than ebg. Just go flip a few camps or throw up a cata for a tower and defenders will come running.

He did make some good points, while I didn’t agree with all, most is true.

One mention that players in this particular game are cancerous is true, isn’t it for all games though. However, what I find interesting is the hate he gets “good ridden” for example in the forum already.

Various servers hate DK from Yaks Bend, lots loved to hate on T. Bravos FA, I seem to remember one from Darkhaven named Triden or something who would get constant whisper spam, Bannock from SBI days, and the list goes on. Even my awful driving commanding self had experiences on Kaineng when they were last place in wvw of getting constant mails or pms “go kill yourself *”. The level of rage in this game is a bit concerning so I kinda get what the laughing seal guy was talking about. This game can certainly bring out the worst in people.

You know what wvw needs? Guys/gals like the ones mentioned above. We need people to despise. It’s what makes gaming so fun and competitive. But yet, the laughing seals guy posts his honest thoughts and people are already jumping on the “good ridden” train or “what a salty kitten”.

Wvw needs all the players they can hold onto. While you don’t have to like the guy, it’s another loss and people who followed him in his guild/group may be inclined to stop playing the game or reduce their time, thus we all suffer in the community.

Can confirm, between unplayable DBL and increasingly stale PVP seasons, I will probably take a break from the game entirely if DBL comes back until Alpine returns.

With this guy. Boring PVP and DBL is trash. I’ve gotten more fights in a few days roaming wise in Alpine than I did the entire time the DBL was running. No thanks to DBL.

Actually, if you look at the current poll, it doesn’t look like the dbls are going away. And Anet most likely already had a good idea from their own metrics/data as to how this poll would turn out. I think it was probably a fairly low risk poll for Anet. Just gives them ammo in the future if people scream about the dbls again…..they can point to the current poll.

But I can certainly understand your concern over the direction that Anet might be taking. Some days the ideas/patches look great….other days, not so much.

The only reason I’m doing so is because I’m deeply concerned about the direction a game that I’ve loved playing for years is heading in.

I’m actually trying to maybe get a message over to the devs that things are looking kinda dicey with the studio and the game right now, and I would rather they change tack to win back some of the folks they lost in the aftermath of HoT.

These polls, ideas, red posts, etc are just near 4 years too late. Too many have left and too many players are getting frustrated moving onto other games. The twitch streams are dying and the youtube vids are getting rarer. The game is just slowly declining in quality of players and content.

Love this game, but that’s the point blank truth IMO.

Ok, I thought I was back to when I was a kid again and seeing little GI Joe green action figure son my screen.

The game feels very sluggish and slow the past few days in general and players are not showing up. They look like GREEN ALIENS.

I think they proved with this awful expansion how much they care about guilds. They killed off roaming small guilds, they destroyed server communities, now phase three KILL all guilds.

Luckily such commanders still exist. One of our (Dzagonur) most popular ones is of that kind: If he isn’t outnumbered at least 2:1 he fights to the death (or at least gives it a shot) That’s the way our most epic battles come to be and in most cases we at least leave a dent in the opposing zerg.

What server you on? I’d follow someone like that to the death!

You know what I’d like to see? Is not hearing the gay slurs in teamspeak by little kids. Nice way to welcome to new players to the game. It’s pretty much every server. People should think about that and chill out. I’ve been turned off by several well known guilds because of their choice words they allow in TS.

Drama HR person. I’ve seen, been part of, tons of guilds that fall apart because of simple misunderstandings. Having a go to person with a complaint is extremely useful.

Training. It’s a pain, but guilds should run through some training in a private pvp arena for example or ask a more experienced guild from enemy server to give them some gvg experience.

Acknowledge all members and keep them in the loop about changes. Nobody wants to show up for raid and be told “change this now” and all of sudden they need to change their play style, skills, build putting them at a disadvantage and in addition for not asking for their input on what works for them personally to stay alive during fights.

Post-raid meetings. Talk about what you did good, what you did bad, and what you really did awful that evening. It helps build morale and let’s players know what flaws they need to be aware of.

Theory crafting. A little tough today with anets super meta BS but never hurts.

I roamed on thief a good week and it felt like dire/perplex necro, just EZ mode. I’m use to slow AF necro and being the fat kid in group. Give me stealth and speed, holy hell….can’t imagine ghost thief.

Kinda. I do like the aspect of finding a smaller group that is connected to the main tag as I like the smaller scale/roamer scene. The main tag at least knows x small group is taking y tower.

I just wish I could block the squad invites, it’s constant when I just want to roam and be left alone.

Would really like to see a dev respond to the defending kind souls out there. These small crew of people really are a vital part to wvw IMO. They’ve been known to hold off a zerg of huge numbers so the main blobbing crew can respond (something you love anet blobbing)
