What if we post here our concepts designs for armors, weapons, guild emblems, banner types, interface windows, special event skins etc.
You don’t need to be a graphic designer or a concept artist to post in here, a simple sketch can be enough to give an idea of what you think about
Also, if you find interesting designs on the internet, you can post them too so that ANet will have all ideas gathered in one place
Here is what I have found for a legendary rifle
No limit time free trial with
- max achieved level 15
- no map, local, guild chat only party chat allowed
- no mail sending, just receiving
- max amount of gold in inventory 50 silver
- max amount of gold in bank 1 gold
- no TP access other then home page with gems acquisitions (usable for upgrading to a full game)
I think this is enough for people to see how the game is in all 6 major cities + all 5 starter zones. Also, this will make the starter zones be full all the time giving the game a new look for new players who come in
Limiting your level to 15 will not stop you from going in other higher level zones but you will not stand a chance in there. Anyway there are a lot of things to do in all starter zones so you will not get bored even if you will just play those for fun
this PvP arena should be placed in Open World one in each race city so there will be 5 different styles. They has this in GW1 but not many people participated in it because the system there was flawed.
Also these arenas should have spectators for those who like to support the fighters
The game modes will be like in those combat games Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive and Mortal Kombat: championship, 1v1, 2v2, 1 vs many in a row, etc.
I would suggest doing something with the achievement points every account has. They can be a exchanged to any other currency in the game except gold or gems
hmm. where is an underwater event that has a veteran monster in it? That could be useful.
Queensdale veteran Barracuda
Untill they are going to implement it in the game, people can use it together with overwolf http://www.overwolf.com/ from within the game. No alt+tab needed
In TP there will be a new category in the Home tab called “Character customization”
In this tab, as presented in the picture below, players can permanently unlock patterns for their account. Every unlocked pattern will them be exchanged at any time through the Make Over NPC added in the game. with the fees listed in the previous post above
NOTE:
1) The gender male female and the race will be unlocked automatically if the account has that type of character in it.
2) The color options for body, glow (silvary), Tatoos and hair will be automatically available at the Make Over NPC. No unlock needed
(edited by Ronah.2869)
The lower prices they put on gem store items, the more afford-able with in-game golds they will be. So for that matter, they could easily add a make-over NPC which would sell this directly with in-game money.
How much do you think that’ll go for?
What I would add in gem store wound be the exact patterns: every face, hair, horns, ear style to be unlocked for the account and then changed anytime for any character with the Make Over NPC for a fee.
The gem prices for each will be ~100 gems
(expl. There will be 9 male silvary faces to unlock purely optional)
The coding is already there and players can unlock them all and then exchange at will anytime
The make over NPC will have these prices
- body size – 70s
- body color – 50s
- tattoos (when available) – 70s
- hair color – 1g
- hair style / horns – 2g
- ears style (when available) – 20s
- face pattern – 1g
- glow (sylvari only) – 70s
The Total make over kit will still have its functionality because it will be cheaper to use it for 350 gems than unlocking all patterns, but for change-o-holics, the Make over NPC+the patterns unlock will be really great

I like the idea of the Guild Halls and Housing you suggested. They are like mini-cities with a main plaza aka Guild Hall and the surrounding buildings aka player housing
The mechanic for getting things will be.
- buy a land with influence
- buy a main plaza pattern (multiple options here) with influence
- get the building materials: buying, crafting, gathering
- put on building queue
- buying service NPCs with influence
- buying land for player housing – each player buys for himself purely optional
- buying house pattern (multiple option here in connection with the chosen main plaza style
- get the building materials: buying, crafting, gathering
- put on building queue (these appear with different color and are just for information)
- decorating the house / garden purely optional by each player themselves
- decorating the city with influence

Make “holding the flag” hide all moving things in the environment :players and NPCs and create a deserted map for the player while he will be invisible for other players in WvW. Dropping the flag will take the player back to the Mists so he will not abuse it in fight. in this way the flag can be a buy-able item in PvE
personally, i would not use a flag but a piece of equipment which can be equipped for this spacial reason. When equipping it i will take you to the WvW map and when Un-equipping it, it will take you back to PvE
invisibility cloak as a back piece?

i am frustrated with the 2 dodges limit myself, but i also understand why they made it like this. If GW2 would have been an action hack-and-slash game like Devil May Cry, than there wont be a need for limiting the dodges, but as GW2 is skill based and the skills have cooldown timers it is obvious thet the dodging skill will have a cooldown too.
The lower prices they put on gem store items, the more afford-able with in-game golds they will be. So for that matter, they could easily add a make-over NPC which would sell this directly with in-game money.
If there are no technical reasons like electricity cut off, internet cut off, hardware issues, than all the other reasons are just personal choices not restrictions. 30 min in a day means just waking up a bit earlier. Anyway, getting laurels from more sources than just the dailies would be appreciated
The guild rifle is placed too high in the character shoulder compared to the other rifles and it should be lowered down a bit even if it will clip
GW1 holidays and big events
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Festival#Big_events
is there any auto- atack to the bomb kits? never noticed it.
PS: maybe other countries are not celebrating it?
Instead of having 4 achievement categories – daily PvE, daily PvP, monthly PvE, monthly PvP – we can gather together all of them under one achievement category called “Tyrian Traveler”
In here, we can have all the required achievements with a countdown timer set next to them ranging from 24h till 31 days
In this way we can have weekly achievements too without making two new categories for them. Also, there can be added all type of achievements with different timers.
The 5 achievements with the least time in the countdown will be shown on the screen for easy tracking
The game wasn’t ready to be released but their company has been bought by another investor which had a hard word on the release date. They needed founding for the game and this was the only way they can get it.
GW2 is pretty much the first or amongst the first games who were sold to the public in the beta phase making it like a paid beta = instead of them paying beta testers, they got payed by the people who wanted to try the game at first hand
Nowadays, many games apply the same model only they call it Founder’s Pack
So, most features you don’t see in the game isn’t because they didn’t plan to do it, but because they released the game too early. The marketing got its climax and the more they have waited to release it, the less people would be interested/ So they did a compromise because of the need of sponsoring money
In options, in key bind tab they can add a drop down list with the characters in the account. Selecting one character will save the key mapping to that character.
A button reset to defaults will reset all key binds for all characters.
As long as a player-to-player trading will not have a “listing” fee, it will not be added to the game because most of high buyers/ sellers will not use the TP anymore.
So, i don’t see this implemented as you guys request.
You probably are the same types that complained when you found out you could queue in sPvP and WvW.
I think people with those concerns were proven wrong.
I dont play sPvP or WvW. I am not interested in this masquerade that promotes war acceptance amongst young people. I don’t care if it is queued or not as long as I see it only as a free violence between people of all ages under the concept of “competition”
This idea is a pretty good one but it would be better if everyone started out as a kid and grew up as they lvld.
Yea, the Fable idea was awesome. If we all started as kids and as we level we get older would have really made this game an RPG.
There are like 10.000 + orders for item X in TP. How do you think the chat will be if all of them will say WTB? Oh and there are hundreds of item types.
Introducing player-to player trading will benefit only the guild mates and friends. Very few people will spend time to look for a buyer/seller instead of using the TP.
This feature will not improve anything to the game
Besides, the TP is available everywhere, how about he WTB/WTS channel? Will it be available for the whole server? Or all servers?

In a dynamic open world events game with no need for party, the dungeons seem to be just a relic from the past MMOs. The best dungeon in this game since now was the Toypocalipse. People could join and take part in it at anytime and for unlimited number of times with random parties. Make this an option for the dungeons and all players will be fine with no need of LFG tool. Those who want to go with party can go with it, those who don’t want /have one will be paired on spot
GW1 story was better because the cut-scenes were continuing your story and not breaking it as it happens in GW2.
Example “Great Northern Wall” mission
- you go to see the Charrs’ hideout
- cut scene starts showing you and your team being spotted and you start to run [end of cut scene]
- you come in control of the character which was auto-running
- you arrive at the wall and talk to the captain
- cut scene starts showing prince Rurik and the captain analyzing the situation,You, the team and all run away together [end of cut scene]
- mission finished
- you are in a new place on the map
How does the GW2 story works now
- you go to do things
- cutscene starts and you look at 2 characters talking in front of a colored curtain/ background/ wall (you name it). Characters get changed but they are still in the same places. No action, just words [end of cut-scene]
- you are in the same place when the cut-scene started with no advantage/ advance in the story.
- you fight your way through in a linear way, no secondary objectives to discover
- cutscene starts and again you see 2 characters talking [end of cutscene]
- mission ended, press exit and you are in the same place where you started with no trace of the things that happened. You fought bandits and all sort of foes but now there are people walking around like nothing happend
To put it simple: In GW1 you were living a story in which your character took actions and felt emotions while in GW2 you are playing some missions and from time to time, instead of commercials you are watching some theater pieces or talk-shows.
You are not connected with your character, you don’t see it doing anything than just talk and most of the time you are not relating yourself to the words it is saying.
The character feels it has its own selfish personality that has nothing to do with being a good hero as A-Net wanted us all to be.
SPOILER
In GW1 it was all about team work. You helped Rurik, you went with him to Kryta when his father banned him from Ascalon, you took his leadership taking the refugees to Lions Arch after he got killed by the dwarfs. You joined the white mantle because you thought they are the good ones and later discover you were on the bad side. You rebel and try to defeat them but some circumstances take you to the desert. In there you fight to survive and to return back to the main land – the desert brought to you hallucinations like fighting the dopple ganger and you had to pass some trials for getting ascended which can imply you were under some ancient spells that chained you in there. After that you get to the land again and see the white mantle have done a great evil calling the Mursaat and you try to defeat them and the one that brought them to Tyria. You succeed and defeat the evil and the white mantle. You join forces with Princess Salma to put up a resistance to defeat the remaining white mantles and you gather the other races to help you out and finally you succeed and peace is brought back to Kryta.
THIS IS A STORY that is about helping the people of Tyria and not some stupid selfish reason to become a hero. In GW1 you became a hero in time through your actions while in GW2 you are just called like that after the tutorial.
if guild rank names go through the filter of “bad words” than it won’t be a problem, otherwise, people can give “bad names” as guild ranks
none the less, interesting idea.
(it isn’t a B2P whatever you say)
Really? How do you think you can access the game unless you buy it? Probably playing it at your friends house on their account.
Anywhere you look on the official site there is only “Buy GW2” and no “download game” buttons
Before you can begin playing Guild Wars 2, you will need to purchase and register the account. In this article we will cover the steps on how to complete the registration process.
Why would anyone want this since it’s already a F2P model once you buy the account?
Some people don’t want to spend $50 on a game they are not sure their machine can run properly. Others are too lazy to go to a shop and buy it and others just don’t have a card to buy it online
Since GW2 is rated +12, there won’t be a problem with the audience downloading the game.
GW2 is not a F2P is a B2P
Personal experience:
Tera and AION paid – didn’t care at all
Tera and AION F2P – download it, didn’t like it, uninstalled
TSW paid – didn’t care at all
TSW B2P – interested but not spending the money on it
TSW F2P?? – will download to see how it works
AoC paid – didn’t care at all
AoC F2P – downloaded, liked, bought game + expansions and 6 month subscription, mounts, costumes – now, just F2P no sub
FireFall – registered, got beta access, liked, bought
The general idea is: There are lots of MMO games in the market today and players are rarely focused only on one MMO no matter how good it is. To attact more player to buy the game or use the cash -shop you need to give them a chance to try it themselves. If they like it, they will stay, if they don’t they will just leave. But if they payed money for a game they thought is good but they are not satisfied with it , the bad reputation will go amongst their friends and from potential buyers they become certain non-buyers
A_net advertised this game on FB and Tweeter based on the GW1 fans enthusiasm before the game launched. Now, as more people had the chance to see the game on their own, the enthusiasm isn’t at the same high rates as before.
Letting players enjoy the game for free, the number of potential buyers will grow.
I know, A-Net doesn’t need more players to their game because they have a steady fan base now, but having more populated servers will do better for the game.

Here is a suggestion on how to make GW2 into a F2P game:
- 2 character slots instead of 5 with the possibility of buying more till maximum 5
- 5 out of 8 professions available with no paid option for unlocking the other 3 ( no thief, guardian or necromancer)
- 3 out of 5 races (no humans or norns) with no paid option for unlocking the other 2
- no chat access except the party channel
- no guild joining or creating ability
- no mail sending possibility, just receiving
- limited access to LFG tool when available
- no access to explorable paths in dungeons
- higher taxes with 25% for teleporting, TP listing, armor repairs
- prices with 25% higher for the TP gem items
- no WvW access
- limited sPvP access for only 15 matches / day
- option to upgrade to standard and deluxe edition unlocking all the existing options
GW2 F2P model:
- 2 character slots instead of 5 with the possibility of buying more till maximum 5
- 5 out of 8 professions available with no paid option for unlocking the other 3 ( no thief, guardian or necromancer)
- 3 out of 5 races (no humans or norns) with no paid option for unlocking the other 2

If you had a mount wouldn’t you want to show it off? Whats the point of getting a super rare mount if hardly anyone sees it? Plus imagine what WvW would be like…
Personally i wouldn’t hide them. You are the one troubled with the TP overcrowded issue. I haven’t seen many people in costumes outside festival times so there is a possibility no one will use the mounts after a while. Changing to costume every time isnt very convenient for most players
Besides, the mounts are cosmetic so they will be buy-able only in TP and not usable in combat. So no problems with WvW
We have already the broom, why not a drake or a moa for that matter?
Like in other games, mounts will be race based mounts + common mounts: we wont see a Nors or Charrs riding Moas
(edited by Ronah.2869)
-Ok since every time someone suggest mounts people scream bloody murder…..jeez….how about since we have engineer class (aka professions….just sound weird to me :P ) , lets say some ancient engineer NPC that made rocket boots or something like that and you can move 100% faster with them?
First of all, the OP suggested mounts for looks which implies they will be equipped in costume window. Second, the rocket boots aka jump jets will look really cool and remind me of FireFall.
+1 for that.
(edited by Ronah.2869)
No.
The problem with mounts is that sure they look flashy but imagine what it would be like going into the trading post or the bank? MASSIVE FRIGGIN DRAGONS AND STUFF EVERYWHERE! It would be nice to see them but it just isn’t practical. I expect to see more small things like the broom though.
Option to hide/show players with mounts or “mounts aren’t allowed in major cities rule” will do the trick for you
There are games that with a button hide, unhide all players in surrounding aria
I will develop your idea into something more elaborate called:
Surprise Activity
They can add these “suspicious bushes” in all zones all over the places and when you click them, some surprise will pop up:
- 1 to 5 foes will jump from it in a random generated number
- 1 chest will pop up with different goods in it
- you will get teleported to another place in the same zone doe to some asura malfunctioning device hidden in that bush
- you will get poisoned, wounded, etc for a few seconds
- you will get different crafting materials
he more varied surprises will be added to these bushes, the more people will trigger them while exploring. These would be GW2’s “treasure chests” spread around the world and not just in some specific caves/clifs
+1 for bringing up this
(edited by Ronah.2869)
First person view should come with fixed cursor in the middle of the screen and an option to hide/unhide the weapons because of some animations can cause health problems to some players.
Also, the UI should change a bit for 1st person in a way to tell the player from which side it is attacked and by how many foes.
This 1st person will give GW2 a FPS feel due to the minor changes in gameplay like not being able to click / select the skills or the foes and only use the buttons and crosshair to aim.
Having 2 games in one will do much better for the public.
A MMO RPG and a MMO FPS in one.
as i said earlier Sylvari are born fully grown therefore its impossible to implement lorewise
There are Human / Norn kids and Charr cubs running around but no Asura’s or Silvary’s.
Your argument isn’t really a problem for implementing kids or aging in the game.
The only argument against kids would be “if they put this option only to specific races, implies adding different other separations between races” like race specific profession which will never be a possibility due to A-Net philosophy
- Uzi’s and automated pistols
- Mounted machine guns
- machine guns
- sniper rifles
It would be nice if they add aging in the game which can be reverted by paying gold.
Some people would;d just play as kids, others as old ganpa’ s but it will give the game more role-play value.
and this “people who play less have less need for better gear” is something you personally think its true.
No, it’s actually true. If you play less, you by definition have more important things to do in life.
If you play less,. by definition you have less time to play not necesarrely more important things to do. The rich people or school kids can play 15h in a day because the money come to them without a time consuming activity.
If you have to work +10 h in a day (traveling to work included) it doesn’t mean you have more important things to do, you just need an activity which give you the opportunity to live. So in the weekends, you can play 15h in day to satisfy your hobby, but this doesn’t imply you need to be worse geared then the rest.
You see, the definition of what is important and what represents the basic needs are pretty confusing to many people. We live in a society where the master-slave relation became employer-employee.
And giving huge boosts to people who play little compared to those who are dedicated fans it is just stupid. Instead of developing the interests of their fans, A-net is just giving the best cookies to the casual players.
Either give cookies to all or don’t give any to anyone. This would be fair.
(edited by Ronah.2869)
Um, there’s only one thing that you can argue that you “need” from Laurels and that’s the Ascended stuff. Everything else is available from somewhere else or does not give you a gameplay advantage.
And I doubt we need to go into a discussion about how people who play less have less need for better gear.
It is the same. The less you play, the less you get. The only exceptions to this are playing the TP and buying Gems. And cash should never be a shortcut in a game. The TP is an alternative that does come with some negatives, but overall the TP players have a positive effect on the game.
So earning Karma is cool… because you, personally, don’t need it. Nice fallacy there.
How about this: every single day, you get a chance to get an extra Laurel, but to do it you have to kill 1,000 Giants within 24 hours and you have to do it using an Eternity?
Can you tell what game play advantages you get from karma so you that is only me who doesn’t need it and the only advantage you get from laurels are only the ascended gear?
Also, 30 days of 30 min = 15 h while 10 days of 15h = 150 h
So a player with 150 h of play gets 10 laurels while another player with 15h of play gets 30 laurels. How fair is that?
As long as you can exchange gems for in-game gold, there will always be people spending all their salary, allowance on gems for that so you can’t blame the players but A-Net for this.
and this “people who play less have less need for better gear” is something you personally think its true.
(edited by Ronah.2869)
I don’t like the current implemation of the daily achievment and laurels. Guild Wars 2 was a game that I didn’t feel like I had to log into every day. […]I just don’t want to be forced to log in every day to grind for top stat gear in my grindless mmo where you don’t have to grind for gear.
Very good observation. No matter what people need the laurels for – gears, mini-pets, etc – it is just that if you can’t / don’t care / don’t have the mood / to do the monthlies, than you are really missing out 1 laurel / day
Some one that does only the dailies ( 30 min) in a month has 30 / 31 laurels while someone who could come only for 10 days has only 10 laurels even he played 15 h / day
The less you have time, the less things you can buy.
It is not the same as with the money. You could earn big money if you know what to do ot even spend your real money on gems.
The karma jars are ok tho, because you don’t have too many interesting things to buy with karma unless you are on for the looks. Besides, while you can get there with the characters, it still earns karma on its own.
So, make these laurels be earned in a different way. If we still need to grind, make it so we grind specific foes with specific weapons in certain zones. This way people will need to play more varied things if they want laurels.
Make dailies earn 1 gold as reward and that would be enough to make people do the dailies
(edited by Ronah.2869)
This is one of the solutions:
2 daily quests – a pot of karma
3 daily quests – mystic coin
4 daily quests – 1 laurel
This is better than stay with empty pockets…
I agree with this especially if added for the monthlies too. I have never done a monthly in full due to some things I don’t Ike to do
Laurels and all that stuff, that I can buy for them is a reward for playing. I’m playing. But please don’t force me to play longer that I can! I’m doing fractals, going into dungeons with my friends, sometime making jump puzzles or going on WvW. What else? I like that things for laurels but why I must [censored] myself for that?
I don’t do dungeons, I don’t care about them so I just do the dailies for 30 min. I won’t get the monthly for February because of those dungeons. Who cares?. You can get dailies in dungeons too: dodging, healing. Kills, etc. You might not get them everyday doing the dungeons, but still it is optional. Laurels are meant to be earned in time and not all in one day or month.
…new changeable profession for each character
…cosmetic mounts
…wardrobe for all skins: weapons, armors, costumes, hairstyles, faces
…dances, postures, other emotes
…faces, hairstyles different then the default ones
