Every game has a cape/cloak.
This is such an uninspired answer. You know, “every” game has mounts, health and mana potions, buy to win cash shops, etc. Why its only the capes that you stopped upon? The looks? I bet you don’t imagine the amount of work to be done to animate a cape for combat for all races/professions/armors in a game like GW2. You think they will do that only for the looks with no other purpose? Keep on dreaming, if that makes you happy.
Guild armors should be marketed better. I think people who want capes, either don’t know about guild armors, either they don’t like the current mechanic of transmutation.
Please read my other thread for a suggestion on this matter
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Guild-Armor-Skin-slot/first#post1080766
Here is the example. Every guild member can customize the colors of the armor as they see fit not like in GW1 where only the guild leader could color the cape.
In here the guild leader(s) can modify the emblem.
Also, please notice the guild axes having the same emblem.

In the hero panel, next to the “chest armor” piece, there should be a new slot for “guild armor” with a check box in it like the helmet and shoulders have so when the box is checked the character will ware the guild armor skin and when its not selected, the character will ware normal armor.
Make the slot have a “lock” like the bank tab or inventory tab and when it is pressed with the mouse it will open a window showing the guild armors to purchase.
Once purchased, the guild armor will always remain on the character and can be displayed with no matterwhat type of armor the character has on.
It is more convenient for players to show their guild armor, even from the start without having to transmute it.
This will be like the capes in GW1, in which people could choose to ware them or not and it didn’t cost them any money. for that
Here is one example
(edited by Ronah.2869)
Many of the weapons we get are soulbound and if i like that skin to transmute it for another character’s weapon I cant becasue the transmuted weapons becomes soulbond too.
I suggest that transmutes weapons should be account bound so we can use them with any character that meets the weapon requirements (professions and level)
You have done this with the Cash Shop skins, which is awesome, why not do it with all transmuted weapons.
Example: I
1) find an exotic weapon. I equip it on one character it becomes soul bound.
I transmute the skin to another exotic weapon, the new weapon becomes account bound.
2) I find an exotic weapon and I transmute the skin to another exotic weapon. The new weapon become account bound.
I think the reason that there isn’t something like that is because GW2 isn’t fully instanced. Is Jade Dynasty a fully instanced game (in that everything is just one big map with no breaks)?
No, JD has zones like GW2. From one zone to another you have a loading screen if you go through the portal, but if you teleport in different locations, you use magic scrolls which give this effect on you. There are some quests thet require you to fast travel in many zones and so you use these teleporter scrolls even for going to different zones
There should be an animation when a character is teleporting to a Waypoint instead of that loading screen. Loading screens are enough for going from one zone to another but not for teleporting in the same zone.
I understand that some people’s hardware makes the loading screen very short in time, but still an animation would be much more appreciated
Here is an example
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Viti_SFDPnI#t=231s
The idea of districts that you could travel between was so good in GW1. Please, bring it back for each zone in PvE so people can play with anyone on any server. A simple UI icon saying what zone district you are in and a drop down list to choose which one to transfer too would be very appreciated and not intrusive.
Skipping Vistas, Skipping cut-scenes, Skipping dungeon paths, Skipping skipping. How about skipping the whole content and buy in cash shop a fully equipped it max armors and legendary weapons? That could fit really good in this Skipping culture, isn’t it?
My answer to this is here in another thread
Basically, you are talking about saving builds. This feature was in GW1 and it might be possible it will be available in GW2 too. But I don’t think they will add it as a hot-bar switch, but as a load up from a list.
It is really annoying to teach new players that they have to represent the guild for actually be in it. And it even more annoying when you find people that often make new characters and you always need to whisper them to represent because mnay don’t even pay attention to the chat window.
So, please make that when a character joins a guild all its characters are automatically representing the guild.
If the player will accept a new guild invite, after joining, a window will pop up and ask the player if he wants that this character will represent the new guild or not.
But there’s a second set – the Festive Golem, Snowman and Airship which ONLY come from the RNG boxes and are account bound so you can’t even trade any extras you get. You also need to get 3 extras to make Foostive the Merry (the Quaggan). Those are the ones I’m wanting to see changed for future events.
I am sorry I misunderstood. Well, as long as they were a lottery thing I didn’t even give a thought of them so maybe that is why I have forgot about those. But you are right. That mechanic should be changed
I think the Wintersday was the best in offering skins and minis. Everyone could have a chance to get them – cash shop or in-game activities
Lost Shors were the worst. Buying or crafing boxes is still alottery
Lottery things MUST GO OUT OF THE GAME. They promote gambling.
Plus, not everyone is a gold farmer to afford minis in Trade Post or a Master Crafter to make them.
In Wintersay every new player can get 2 minis free by doing the dungeons without spending real cash or lots of gold
Mounts should be for Role Play purposes. We can transform in all sorts of things with the tonics, we can ware different costumes, why not add some mounts for the same reason with a few skills to them? That would be awesome.
Its possible to add it in the future, so keeping fingers crossed
As the title implies, please take Dungeons out of PvE.
There should be a zone like the Heart of the Mists with portals to every dungeon. It can be accessed via “dungeon entrances” in PvE – because there is no need to take these away anyway – or a “Dungeon icon” in the UI top left of screen similar to WvW and PvP icons.
In this way, people who want to do dungeons will meet in the same place as the people who like to sPvP or WvW.
Besides, this zone can be expanded with every new dungeon added to the game
Thank you guys for appreciating the idea. I will elaborate on it further on.
the OP mentions the GWAMM title which tells me they probably have it . This gives them quite a few achievements already .
The Hall of Monuments achievements will NOT count for it. They were GW1 specific. The Legendary will be based only on GW2 specific achievements.
Also, when a the first Legendary weapon is unlocked, it will give the title “Legendary Hero of Tyria” which will have the same value as GWAMM had in GW1. Once the account has unlocked all the legendary weapon types will give a new title “Legendary God of Tyria” which will be more than the GWAMM in my opinion.
I will make a little example:
Lets consider the game has now 100 achievements. When you get 65 achievements you have unlocked your first legendary weapon and the fist Title.
Which one will it be depends on the weapon master achievement as that if you want a Legendary dagger, you must max the dagger master achievement first.
After this, every 2-3 other achievements completed will unlock a new legendary weapon for the account an so on until you get 93 achievements and the 2nd Title.
I let 7 achievements free from the total because people should not be forced to get them all but have a little choice in which they can/want to max.
As the game progresses, more achievements will be added so the percentage will raise up as follows: You will still unlock the first Legendary at 65 completed achievements, but the others will be unlocked all at 123 achievements if the game has got 135 achievements in total.
In this way, everyone can get his preferred legendary in the same amount of time.
NOTE: As weapons are unlocked only once in one account and they are account bound, any character can claim as many as they want from the hero panel.
Legendary weapons will be earned not bought and will actually show how many different things you have achieved in the game.
Any character in the account will have a new icon next to its name similar to commander icon
- 1 sword showing that he has got the first Legendary
- 2 swords showing that he has more than half of the legendary weapons
- 2 swords and a shield for the “Legendary God of Tyria”
(edited by Ronah.2869)
Mounts could be added ONLY IF the new zones will be designed with them in mind – which I doubt – because the current zones are not fit for mounts no matter how good they could be
(edited by Ronah.2869)
I think Legendaries should be “achievement based” not “crafting based”. It should be an “award” not a “product”. In hero panel they could add a new tab called “legendary” and it will feature all weapon types in a generic form. Every weapon is represented empty and it will fill up the more requirements for that weapon you fulfill
The requirements will be based on the achievements. Weapon master will be the one that will make the difference of which weapon is filled up faster.
This will be like bringing back the “GWAMM” title from GW1 in GW2.
You will need a certain number of achievements to get a Legendary weapon.
Legendaries will be than account bound and they can be claimed directly from Hero tab once filled.
In this way people will need to do different things to get them and not just buy materials in tradepost or buying directly the weapon itself
The more dungeons – aka instanced team based zones – are added to the game, the more the player base will be spread apart. I thought the dungeon system was to be skipped in this game with so many innovative things, but it seems the most of the A-Net’s game designers just prefer them or they don’t have too many other ideas.
Dungeons shouldn’t be given so much importance. They should just be a game mode like sPvP separated from the PvE.
They could have just invented some parallel dimension where people could chose the dungeons and go in them like in the Mists lobby
In this way, A-Net could see the PvE servers are getting low population and maybe merge them together, but as long as “dungeon runners” are still considered PvE population, then they will not be doing thet in the near future.
Of course they see the acivity of each account and determine in this way who playes PvE and who plays only dungeons, but still they cant track/read all the “LFG” chats from players who are not PvEing or Dungeon-ing
What happens if you forget the PIN? Ask A-net for a restore? I guess not a valid idea.
I support the “sent mail” tracking in mail due to various reasons, not only the one you mentioned.
I don’t use the circles at all nor players/enemies/npc’s names on my view so for me its the visual not the color of it, but it can be added, it won’t hurt the game play.
Although I like to see the NPC, so your suggestion is well appreciated. I consider it only from the “looks” perspective, because if you are close enough the cursor change and also the F key becomes active ignoring all the players around
There are zones in the map that you find people chatting a lot while in much more others very few to none. This can vary from server to server but in general it is the same thing,
You can’t get the feeling the game is alive if you run in 2-3 zones and no one is saying anything.
So, taking this in consideration, the Server chat for PvE is needed. As a new player reading in chat how people will discuss about Orr it will make them even more intrigues for discovering what that Orr is. Besides, they can ask help with different events more easily and also the news about big events will run faster.
some people want every player in the instance up to a certain standard.
in other words you are discriminating players based on their gear.
Or maybe u need a good build to a hard dungeon?
prescript-ed builds limit the innovation. so no ty
in GW there was no one more powerful than any other lvl 20’s running around thats what made GW such a treasure for so many of us
Good point. They have already made bad decision with rares and exotics and probably adding legendaries an so on. They should’ve kept the “Max Armor” philosophy and only the skins should do the difference.
(edited by Ronah.2869)
Heroes. That is the answer for soloing a dungeon. I am pretty sure they will add them sometime in the future when 80% of the population is filled up on dungeon weapons and gears. and none of them will have a need to grind them anymore.
some people want every player in the instance up to a certain standard.
in other words you are discriminating players based on their gear.
No, and instant teleport random group dungeon finder is the last thing any mmo needs -.-
Well, a instant teleport is needed in any type of dungeon finder. If you are one that stands in LA or in front of a dungeon entrance, that is your own choice. I rather do other things and when the party is ready, just get teleported in that instance.
There are many things to discuss about how to “apply” for a party and I will not discuss it now, but i completely support the instant teleport to location feature IF you have that location unlocked: meaning that a lvl 35 character can’t go in a lvl 50 dungeon untill that dungeon becomes available to that character.
Instances should NOT be server based, but global
Titles are pretty much worthless in this game. I can’t see my own name, let alone display any titles I’ve earned, so what’s the point?
Really wish we could see our own names and what guild we are representing, let alone being able to pick a title we’ve earned to display.
You can select a title i9n Hero , achievement tab top left. Its visible if others select you.
Fighting Risen with a hammer in Witch costume LOL. What a stupid idea to have costumes over armors. I think you guys are just scholars for whom the armors and the costumes might look similar. What about warriors?
Dungeons, dungeons… sigh. People only think of themselves as being grinding robots. /sigh. Everywhere you look on the forum, players just talk about grinding/farming for all sorts of things. Sad
2 options needed:
- turn off character voice
—turn off other player characters voices
Personally like to hear all voices. so if you dont want to hear your character it will restrict my fun so it should be done so only you will not hear your voice, but others can.
I feel ok with the system the game has now. I don’t need any change for it as defaults, but as options for those who want it. I don’t want to have my cursor in the middle of the screen and i don’t want the MMO to turn into a FPS
Fashion and gears can’t go together in this game. I hope they will not mix them. Gear is for combat and fashion is for out of combat.
But the costume panel would be great tho.
they are lottery things, guys. Some people enjoy gambling
but you can sell the minis you don’t want to the Trade Post and with the money you get you could buy probably the other you want.
They sold the legendary weapons in GW1 too, sort to speak. You could buy Tormented, Destroyer and Oppressor weapons. Why not in here too?
In the game there are 2 icons now: a “star” for map completion and a “blue thing” for commanders. Adding different icons depending on what title you choose to display it’s a good idea but it will become pretty confusing if the numbers of titles will grow.
My idea on titles visuals is different. I would award the player with a “flying esper”
This is some sort of gadget invented by Asura that will fly around the character. Designing these little toys will be a challenge but in the end it will be worth it.
These Espers will be different depending on what title the character has chosen to display.
These Espers wont clutter the screen but it will be seen in the world and recognized even without selecting a player.
As you said about the Mad King Title… the Flying Esper can be a burning pumpkin
For those who played Jade Dynasty, they will understand better what I mean by “Flying Esper”.
For those who don’t really understand what I am talking about, watch the next clip and pay attention to the “flying things” that each character has around

Juts put some capable NPC to beat up group events or bosses when players are not doing it. In my server -FA- the Meleandru Boss is there for a few days now an no one is grouping for beating it. Its annoying just to log in everyday and see if that boss is till up and log off again because I cant get the armor from there.
I know the game has some sort system to recognize the of stylish combat of one player and give rewards accordingly but it will be more interesting if in some palce of the screen will pop up like in an arcade game the Style system: Combat Style S, A, B C D, Combo X1.2.3
S-stylish, A-awarding, B-brutal, C-cool, D-dull.
I remember Devil May Cry games has this system and it really was great to see how good you were after each mission.

“More posting & formatting options…” button, there’s an attachment field there.
thank you. never saw it in there.
The thing is, there USED be hair under your helmets before the patch around halloween. For some completely unknown reason, this was removed and replaced with baldness.
True, my character had hair with his GW2 cap before. (screenshots)
How do you add attachments to your post?
Imagine guys, there are like 20-40 new zone to be added to the current map. My guess is they will add an expansion only after they have filled up the existing map with playable zones. If the game is still popular in that time, they will surely add Cantha and Elona.
Perhaps, Kaineng will be in a skyscraper style architecture while Kamadan more of an arabic-egyptian style architecture
Dailies take from 20 to 40 min to complete in starter zones.
If you can’t spare this much time in day for playing the game, its not A-Nets fault or other players fault but your own.
Wake up 1h earlier and do them before going to school/work or stay up 1h more in the night if you can.
If your internet it not working or you have other technical issues then it is not your fault but you can’t blame other players for these reasons either.
You pretty much used the Halloween event idea and put it in a new look, the hide-and-seek mechanic worked good on that one tho.
Any offensive skills that damages the life of the enemy, active or passive, should be visible. It lets those who die by them, firstly see how they died but also to adapt their builds to counter it.
This encourages the loser of that fight to adapt their builds and being prepared rather than running into battle and dying by the same person and getting frustrated.
GW1 also has an option to list the skills that damaged you.
In other words, you will go to war but first you will ask your enemies if they use AK74 or M16 so you know to bring Barrett M82A1 or not
this was one of the funniest suggestions ever
it completes the name of people in your friend list or guilds you are in.
I would really like that. They had it in GW1 so they can find its way into GW2 too. But it shouldn’t work with transmutation stones either. It will be nice to see warrior and guardians be able to ware the same or different armor skins.
Don’t get me worng though, I love the game enough; I just hate the waypoint system.
teleporting was the best feature of GW1. GW1 players would have totally disliked the idea or runing around with or without mounts. Teleporting is in GW1 history so you can’t argue about it. What they did differently for it, are the costs which in GW1 they didn’t exist. I like mounts but I prefer WP system . If they would find a co-existence of the both systems would be great, but as it is now, mounts are pretty useless when the mobs are very close to eachother.
Instead of adding new ascended gear, you could re-do exotic armors adding one more upgrade slot to exotics for adding the infusion upgrade.
It would have not altered the power of the exotic armor, it would just add the new infusion resistance to certain foes.
It would have been a lot simpler and basically all exotics people have now would have just been upgraded with this new free upgrade slot
