I would like the loading screen picture to have an option to turn it black’n’white. That would be much cooler isn’t it? But hey, that’s just me :P
Why add these restrictions ?
The whole point is to have the map 100% for all alts if you’ve done it once.
I DON"T want to have 100% map completion for alts. It will; take all the fun from playing this game. I think my idea isn’t hurting yours, just put you to actually do something like going from one zone to another to unlock it – but yours is hurting my play-style
i can no longer see what the boss is doing leading to my death.
Isn’t this just what actually happens if you were there for real?
I hope they will put the special minis in a buy-able pack not a lottery thing as the Lost Shore was. A-Net, I am NOT buying any random lottery chests even if you would give full dungeon armors sets in it.
I agree with this only if some conditions are set up.
- you can only unlock a zone for the whole account if that zone is completed with one character
- unlocking a new zone for an alt should be done only by entering that zone through the portal with that alt
- a pop up window asking what to unlock: Do you want this zone to be unlocked for this character? yes/no. If yes, a new question will pop up: choose what things you want to leave locked: vistas, PoIs, hearts. No selection means all will be unlocked
Once one zone is completely unlocked for an alt, there won’t be any resets to the unlocked version making it a player’s choice and not a default feature
These are good because at one point in your game play, you want to feel you are actually doing something with that character. Re-seting hearts daily will be a mess because people will not really do more but just a few

It would be nice to see some finishing moves in PvE too, not only in PvP.
Here are some examples

after 10 min of idle-ing, the character could go in the sleeping emote or, if this could be confusing, a new emote will make the character sit on a chair, rock, wood, flower, levitating depending on race.
Or a simple pop up bubble above the head saying “dreaming”
This story garbage is just annoying.
If you don’t like it, it your own opinion, business, problem, trouble, etc. which implies there are more people who disagree with you then agree with you.
(edited by Ronah.2869)
on the other hand add town clothes for bride and groom to gem shop (these will sell nicely to all those suckers), make the players RP the rest.
if feels you haven’t read my suggestion above :P
The game should have a system scanner feature which will identify if a player runs a voice chat program or not and put an icon next to the name. It is not important if the player uses it with other people from the game or with people from outside the game.
The feature will just notice everyone that player has a voice chat program open.
in the game system reqs says this:
“Due to potential changes, system requirements may change over time, and you may be required to upgrade your current system (or obtain a new system) to continue to play the game”
so, no lower graphics for you, sorry
Simple solution:
marriage costumes in the cash shop with special skills similar to the witch and the mad king costumes had on Haloween.
One cool skill could be “dance together” in which both are holding hands and do a walts dance. For huge and small characters, the big one will hold the small one in his arms and dance.
Another skill, can be “marriage walk” when they both start walking together and fireworks and confetti start to fly in the air and a marriage song will play. The walk will be in straight line until the first major obstacle – wall, tree, water, etc. – when it will reverse the route back till the next obstacle.
the two skills above will be activated only if another character dressed in marriage costume is in range. Once one player presses the skill, the other will receive an marriage invitation which he can accept or decline.
Once one skill is activated it will transform itself into another skill called “divorce”. Once pressed, this skill will interrupt the animation generated by the first skill.
The other 3 skills will be used as a solo character – no other character in vicinity wares a marriage costume.
“special dance” – a dance similar to ballet dances
“getting ready” – a mirror pops up and the character starts to look into it, other characters with or without costume can look in the other side mirror and start the same animation as the main character
" ask in marriage" – a restaurant table with 2 chairs will pop up. the character stays on one chair and any player – with or without costume – can take a seat on the other chair.
These skills plus the “divorce” part will generate some achievements in community list.
“The wedding master” – number of minutes of having a partner
“The divorce advocate” – number of times you left/or have been left by a partner
“The petitioner” – number of minutes you have spent on the restaurant table chair
“The fashionist” – number of minutes spent in front of the mirror
and
“Married to [character name]” – number of minutes spent with the same partner"
The last achievement can be obtained multiple times for different character names only after “the divorce advocate” has been completed

they should send invites to different accounts based on their statistics: gameplay time, achievements earned, character development, etc. In this way they will limit the numbers of players who will join and also, will limit spoiling the surprise to a reduced number of people.
i know why you people don’t like titles because then you will feel forced to grind them like you are now grinding armors. GW1 was all about the titles and less about gear. It seems they have turned it into a gear grind then a title vanity.
A simple chat filter option “show game achievements” will be enough to solve your “spamming” concern.
For those who don’t know, the chat has already a spamm-able option called “combat” but its put off by default.
(edited by Ronah.2869)
Where do you actually buy the order armors from?
having achievements “spammed” in the chat wont hurt the game as it hasn’t in GW1 At contrary it will make players notice the achievements and try to get them too.
Achievements are completed once per account so there won’t be too many as you think. I am not taking in here about reset-able achievements like dailies or monthlies, but about the permanent ones for an account
In GW1, the more titles were obtained, the longer the “Favor of Gods” existed in the world. As in GW2 the gods are not present or something like that, they can add a new type of bonus to the world “The allied army has gain more strength against the corruption”
(edited by Ronah.2869)
As the title visibility is much argues in the forum, i will not debate on that but I will suggest to make the achievements completion be announced in the chat like they were doing it in GW1
It will be on light green text with no time/channel mark on it. Something like:
[Character name] has completed the “Drake Slayer” achievement
This idea can be extended to the titles too, but the text will be in orange
[Character name] has earned the “Emissary of the Mad King” Title
(edited by Ronah.2869)
I think it will be easier for them to add a new race then a new profession, but to keep up with the thread, my suggestion is ACROBAT a melee fighter as a combination of a martial artist and a gymnast
They said they won’t go back to it from some stupid reason which I don’t want to mention now. Too bad their imagination stopped at a rudimentary level regarding the log in screen and character selection screen
A simple solution would be the complete removal of dungeons. They are so much like all MMOs out there. IF you really want some instanced content, fine, do it, but make it so that it will have less important gears in it OR make the same gears achievable throughout other activities.
People farmed dungeons in GW1 for ectos, obsidian shards, etc, but you COULD buy them too from merchants. So in that way people who couldn’t do dungeons, they could get the materials for same gears in time and paying for a SINGLE run through the dungeon to get it. Also, the weapons were trade-able, so people could have the same cool looking weapon skins and not be over-powered
I hate it when people use the suggestion section to complain… at least make an attempt to, I don’t know, suggest some solutions to the problem.
Have you read the entire post? There is the solution
Well, I think you guys didn’t understand very good what I meant. I think grinding for getting the required level for the storyline breaks the immersion in that story.
Imagine the human storyline – you need to find the medicine fast but hey, you need to grind 10 events because your level is too low. What emergency is then if you, the hero, are wasting precious time doing random stuff instead hurrying up to get it?
No one can say they have no trouble with leveling, because no matter how good you are you can’t go through the story without doing some events on the way.
In GW1, you could do just the primary quests and missions one after another without doing any secondary quests.
For an example, running through Factions storyline could be done in 10-15h. So, no matter from what background people come from, this idea was present in GW1 – leveling through the storyline.
Also, level requirement for armors and weapons is also a grinding system which didn’t exist in GW1 either.
(edited by Ronah.2869)
From what I can see right now in the game, the non-grinding philosophy of A-Net has failed. People grind events for karma, grind dungeons for armors, grind for catching up with the storyline requirement.
A non-grinding solution would be to get the necessary experience to complete storyline in a row. This means that a player can start a new character and just follow the storyline and unlocking WP or zones and get all the exp he needs to continue its personal story.
But away form this, A-net is just forcing people either to do zone completion or just grind a small aria for events.
its strange how people want events to be announced in chat and none have commented this suggestion.
As the world of Tyria is full of conflicts – a.k.a events – the Asura have invented the Conflict Scanners and placed them all around the world to help its inhabitants identify those hot zones.
As you have figured out already, my suggestion refers to an innovative event announcer / finder to help players gather even more for doing those awesome events.
How will this work?
There will be 3 types of Conflict Scanners available for the player. They will be trigered by F5 – F7 keys.
At level 5, the player unlocks the first Conflict Scanner – F5 – called “Conflict scanner”
When the key is pressed, on the map will be shown all normal events happening within the current zone. They will be shown for 20 seconds in the whole zone map even if the player hasn’t discovered those zones yet.
At level 10 the “Conflict scanner” will upgrade into “Zone Conflict scanner” which will show on the map all the normal events happening in all the zones that have the same level as the current zone the character is in.
At level 30, a new scanner will be unlocked in F6 key. It will be called. “Threat Scanner”
This key when pressed will show on the zone map all Champion bosses currently roaming free or engaged in fights in the current zone.
Al level 40, the “Threat Scanner” will upgrade into “Zone Threat Scanner” which will show on the map all the Champion bosses in all the zones of the same level as the zone the player is currently in.
Al level 60, a new scanner will be unlocked in F7 key.. It will be called “Menace Scanner”. It will show all the Zone bosses who are spawn in the world of Tyria.
This scanner won’t upgrade further.
Player can manually press the F5-F7 and the scanners will have a cooldown timer of 6 minutes. The events and bosses will be shown in the world map for 20 seconds.
I hope you like the suggestion.

In a game that has implemented so good the event system and the ad-hock collaboration between players, it is sad to see the dungeon system is still unchanged,
I agree that some players want to have a more organized team based instanced game modes, but for the others there is no alternative.
I am talking in here about the dungeon armors.
Why not add some sort of tokens for obtaining unique zone armors from the zone bosses. These tokens can be obtained from all zones at any level but they can be exchanged only for exotic lvl 80 armors.
While a player does the world explorations while leveling, he will eventually get a lot of boss tokens that can be exchanged for an exotic armor when he gets to lvl 80.
It will be an alternative to karma armors and dungeon armors.
Minis should give small, almost insignificant, bonuses like 1% MF or Karma.
If minis had some benefits other then role-play they will become mandatory so they should be put in the game too without using the cash shop otherwise they will transform it into a pay to win.
I dont see any button to toggle between online and offline.
If you are taking about putting yourself appearing offline while being online, that is in friends list. Press Y.
Hiding offline players from online players isn’t possible as it wasn’t in GW1 either.
You can rearrange the roster by different categories, tho
(edited by Ronah.2869)
They have it already implemented in the cash shop.
This is a game and a game is meant to be a relaxing activity not a profitable one. Get rid of your real life mentality of getting profit out of everything and enjoy your game play time.
a way to actually equip it so it would take a spot in your hero panel and that way it wouldn’t be send away each time.
I vote for this one. Make a spot in Hero where the minis can be equipped like the ranger’s pets: when you click that spot it will open all your minis collection and it will equip any mini you have in there. If that certain mini is equiped on other character, it will automatically take it away form there and equip it for the current character
Currently, if you haven’t logged in for 7 days, in the guild roster will be shown “unknown” instead of the location. your last played character is
I am a lvl 80 warrior and since I have hit this level 2 weeks ago I am just doing the starter zones. They are more fun and relaxing after a working day then high level zones. So I guess its just a matter of opinions, nothing else. You play with new people because you want to not because you get profit from it. If you consider new players material assets for your character’s development then you are too much manipulated by the corporate society focused only on profit.
Why have soulbinding at all if it essentially does nothing?
well, it transforms the “fear” about" bind on equip" from “if i equip this I wont be able to sell it” to “if i equip this it will cost me some cash to be able to sell it”
people recycling all of their armors through different characters.
and what exactly would make it a problem and not a solution?
Being able to Left Click for Attack 1 and Right Click for Dodge is such an intuitive control, it’s really sad that ANet haven’t implemented this themselves.
the combat is good as it is. The fixed cursor in the middle of the screen is an outdated idea that even FPS games try now to get rid of. It would be a bad idea for an RPG to implement that on default. Maybe an option to bind those keys will be more then enough for your request.
The first hour I tried the game I put it down because the combat sucks!
So you became an expert of GW2 combat in 1h?
If the things in this article are true, then you have got into a dead end trap for the life of GW2. I suggest you guys are re-considering the initial statements about the game and forget all this greed if you want the game to live as long as GW1.
I say underflow servers!
Yes, unite the PvE players for God’s sake. Why do you split us between servers for some WvW reason. I dont give a […] about WvW so why am I forced to play in separate servers?
1. It’s called “Wintersday”, and they shouldn’t call it Christmas.
So, its good celebrate some undead ritual from American pop culture called Halloween but not celebrate Christmas too? How is that?
Every suggestion regarding the storyline is good, but I think they will not alter anything or they will alter all of it. The story feels a bit rushed at this moment and it has the inconvenient to end in a group dungeon so you are not necessary able to see your character finishing it.
After choosing your faction, basically you have very few choices on the way. No matter if you ambush or stealth into an enemy location, the result is the same. You will win the battle. The choices you have to do in the game story affect the world/story in a very small way.
If we take away all the work that has been done to record, animate, design the cut scenes and we just put all the texts on the paper, the story scheme is very simplistic without major choices that will alter the character’s path.
Thinking how hard the Lost shore is as a new zone for the lvl 80s, I think the game stops here in Orr or Leap for casual players. Even if I understand it as a game/lore design – zombies are everywhere because of the dragon corruption and they are in endless numbers – I don’t understand why they put those places into the map completion achievements.
They could make like a title"legendary cartographer" for those who wanted it, and leave world completion achievement to the rest of players.
This is a good idea. Not sure if it will be applied in the game, but a “design by” tag on it may be a cool advertisement. This will imply that the items names should be a bit altered by the main color name. The player who will equip it can change the colors tho, but its name and the “design by” tag will remain.
This suggestion should apply mostly to the crafted items and not to the dropped items.
Auto-groupers are good for lazy people,
I like the lazy part. I dont really care who I will be teamed up with, I just need to do the dungeon. So I am really up for an auto-grouping system
There are plenty of builds you can make with weapons, skills and traits. you guys are just too kin on GW1 type of builds. Besides, the combos are a great deal in here so that counts for builds too. So, the game game isn’t superficial, you are thinking of it like that.
I have used in GW1 only one build foe warrior because I liked only the axe skills. In here i always switch them off combat to experiment and see different combinations
Even if at the first look, the skills are not a great deal, if you will think more then 5 min, you will see the difference from axe – axe and axe -mace or mace – axe.
All achievements, not only dailies should have a check box to be visible or not. Also, there should be a limit of how many achievements you can display.
I know it may be too late, but please can you put on sales in TP the discounted character slots?
as long as we can use skills in towns, dynamic events in towns will be the best addition to them. Even under city dungeons can be great.
If those factions are more like Team A, Team B Team C and these teams will be selected randomly for each player, i think it can work and it will not be against the first rule of GW2, the one not to divide players into factions
