In the game there is no visual distinction between repaired gear and damaged gear
The simple way to implement this visual recognition is adding a color pattern that will be placed over the armor color layer.
This will give more immersion in the game and players will recognize who has repaired or damaged armor.
A new planet with mounts of all types -robotic, living mechanical – and an elaborate terrain / zone design to allow that.
Or at least make the one we have now in full screen and a little animation on the picture.
you can make tabs that are like in gw1
They really need to invent some “planet in the sky” for this game which will be all about mounts, flying mounts, and mounted combat. Asurans may have discover it and then made some gates to go there.
I see it as the only way to expand the GW2 concept and add flying mounts and mounts of any type (robotic, machinery, living) in general plus the mounted combat without ruining the current lore or the current game.
The zone will be for lvl 80’s and the mounts will be usable only on the new planet.
The Living story concept can bring something like this into the game and develop it alternatively with the new Tyrian continents: Cantha and Elona
(edited by Ronah.2869)
Getting rid of the home servers and replace them with “factions” to choose from ONLY when entering the WvW
Ow and also make it so that we can loan money from the bank. If you can’t pay it of the game even sent some goons after you wich are of increasing difficulty depending on how far your behind on payment and how much the debt is.
That would be awesome idea. Having goons spawning in randomly behind and attack you while you are busy with something else… Man, this is brilliant
It’s a bad suggestion alright.
The fact that this thread is a flamebait proves that fact. Any item that grants you lvl 1 to 80, or any other form for whatever stuff defeats the purpose of the game. If you’re lazy (busy) go craft. Other then that, just play the game like we all do, and if you don’t like it, don’t play at all.
So you mean that grinding to lvl 80 is the purpose of the game? I remember they said that grinding is not needed in GW2 but as it is now it feels it is the only purpose.
And, probably you haven’t noticed but all the new content they added in the game boosted all characters to lvl 80 so THEY CAN PLAY IT AND HAVE FUN and not thinking of grinding to a certain level.
I have got my lvl 7 ranger to Southsun cove and charmed my reef drake pet. Do I ruin anybody’s game if i have a high level zone pet since lvl 7? I don’t think so.
Players of lvl 10-15 have played the Molten Facility dungeon together with lvl 50 and lvl 80. Has anyone argued with A-net about that? I don’t think so.
So, all your arguments against this suggestion come only from your pride and egoism. Why should a lvl 1 guy get in one minute what I have got in 10 weeks?
To break it up more to you,…. you can buy lvl 80 exotic armors from cash shop and transmute them to a lvl 5 armor so you can play in the armor you like since the start.
So, what is the purpose of the game? leveling? ha
Anyway: Incredibly close to pay2win, terrible idea, defeats the purpose of the game, won’t ever happen. Comprende?
So, lets me rephrase what you said:
A 5 second potion from 1-80 will be a pay to win and a gem-gold craft for 10h isnt?
Sorry but, no entiendo.
Possibly it won’t happen, but this doesn’t make it a bad suggestion.
As long as the GW2 economy wants to mimic the real wolrd economy and they take taxes as listing fees and teleportation costs, why isn’t there a bank interest for the money we store in the bank? It doesn’t seem very fair, does it?
I fail to understand how that’s an excuse. You don’t have to play a game, there’s this funny thing called time management too. Log on, play a little, have fun, log off.
I will quote myself from a previous post: “I am playing like 1h in day so it took me like 4 months to get to lvl 80. I don’t think I would spend another 28 months to have all the professions lvl 80.”
To all the people saying “this idea is brilliant”, one question for you. Are you so pathetically lazy that you can’t even play a game anymore? I do truly hope you people aren’t of my generation, because I would be ashamed to be grouped with you.
I think you misunderstand the meaning of two words: lazy and busy
So, why do you need an auto-leveler?
I dont like any crafting or PvP. Why do i need to grind levels just to play my single player storyline?
I don’t like crafting, pvp, wvw, gathering, killing, dungeons, fotm, exploring, jumping puzzles and grinding either but I do want to have a lvl 80 with full ascended and a legendary,
/sarcasm
Why do you want to play the game if you don’t like to play the game? No one is forcing you. Logging out can be found under f12
I dont like to grind, which includes legendaries and ascended too. I just want to see the different storylines. What is whrong in that? The only thing I would spend the money on would be the new character slot.
In GW1 I had 23 characters who have beaten all the campaigns’ storilnes and still i have the quest log full. This is the way i want to play, In GW1 you could get to lvl max level in 5-10h and you didn’t need to grind the hearts, oh sorry the quests.
Once you have beaten the game once you know what to do and what skills to use for your heroes so you could have a lot of alts and not get frustrated with grinding the levels
But you don’t even want to be bothered with that…..wow……..
No man, I have leveled one characters to lvl 80, beaten the storyline, got my world completion star. I dont need to do the same thing with the other characters. I just want to play different storylines but i am forced to grind things to be able to see them.
I dont understand what bothers you if I have 8 lvl 80 s with a cash shop potion? Am I standing in your way of leveling? I don’t think so.
I am playing like 1h in day so it took me like 4 moths to get to lvl 80. I don’t think I would spend another 28 months to have all the professions lvl 80.
So, why do you need an auto-leveler?
I dont like any crafting or PvP. Why do i need to grind levels just to play my single player storyline?
Yes I agree with buying a lvl 1-80 potion or a lvl 80 character. Leveling is really boring no matter how fast some people may consider it. Ok, I leveled up once character, I have seen most of the game world if not all, I don’t need to repeat everything again just to be able to level up. There are hundreds of MMOs on the market if I’d like that system. I just want to play a new profession and to play what I want.
I think a booster up potion that will give you 20 levels would be good for a price of 400 gems. I dislike crafting in all and every game so it shouldn’t be forced on me as the fastest way to buy your new lvl 80
I have seen the Canach’s Story on the website. Imagine if that what we can read in there would be transformed into a cutscene happening when you first log in on 28th May.
That would be awesome!
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/canachs-story-an-after-hours-meeting/
I think that the Living Story concept is really great but the simple email that tells you about it when you log in is really a simple “wall of text”
I suggest to make a sort of cinematic introduction when ever you add a new Living story episode. This cutscene will show up when you first log in after the update and it will be skippable / viewable with all other characters.
The cutscenes will be available only during Living story content and will not be accessible after the content is removed
In this cutscene you will introduce the new plot, heroes, locations etc in a sort of “witnessing” method where your character hears and sees things happening
(edited by Ronah.2869)
Yes, this is one great idea but we know that A-Net will not simply “steal” it. They have to improve it or do some changes in it of their own.
I could see it best for the further advancement of fractals than anything else.
Lets see if they will implement something similar.
Try to do your personal storyline. it is a sort of traditional quest. It is the green quest on top right of the screen. It will take you to different places / zones. Sometime you will need to grind a few levels to be able to continue the story, but as you come from WoW, i don’t see the level grinding a problem for you.
This should be your main goal.
The 2nd goal would be the daily achievements. They are easy to be done and when you get to know them, it will take you ~ 30 min.
You shouldn’t stress with the game progression. It will come to you as you play even if you wont see much difference.
If a zone is to hard to level in, go to lower level zones and you will have a better feeling about your character.
Selling thing on Trading post is one of the simple things seen in any MMO. Just open it with “O” and you are done.
There is no need to buy gears, just use the ones that drop from foes.
All the heart NPC become merchants after you complete the quest. They are good for cleaning out your inventory while in the world
You cant do a group event by yourself? There is no one around? Just ignore it and run further.
When you feel you are getting bored, either stop playing for that day, either switch the character and try a new style.
One goal you could have is to level multiple characters alternatively, mostly doing the same things, but this will only make you an expert in what you need to do.
Some events are hard to understand when there are more people around and until you figure out what to do the event is over.
Don’t play GW2 10h in a day fro the start, Try to play it as long as you feel interested even if that means only 30 min. In time, while playing other games, you will realize that GW2 is different then all of them
And one more thing. Use the internet to search for answers. Like GW1, GW2 is relying itself on Wiki pretty much. So, when you seem not to find something and there is no one around to answer for you, go to wiki and do a little research yourself.
GW2 is a mixture between a sandbox game and a quest driven game.
The sandbox part is the one that makes the boredom come for all the players used with quest driven games.
I agree with these:
*Make some RH tasks Personal story quests.
*RH Bosses:at the end of a “Task chain”
*add interaction tasks between two RH “EX. deliver item”
… to feel more intense. The best example for this is the Devil May Cry game series from which I give you here some example
(edited by Ronah.2869)
I have noticed that the TP is taking more then the listing fee from buyers. Why? Is it a bug or this is a so called “hidden tax” as the GW2 economy wants to mimic the real life economy?
I have attached a picture to show it
What is the idea to develop party based content over and over in conclusions of stories and have no LFG tool in the game?
I think this is the only MMO out there that came out without a party finder.
Ok, you advertised the game that the partying isn’t necessary in this game but it seems that you just focus on ending storylines only in party based dungeons: personal story and now this living story.
Why don’t you make a scale down system if there are less people in the party?
Why do you force people to gather friends if they don’t have any who like to play the game with them?
- Waypoints disabled / vanished from the map/minimap while mounted = not usable
– Mounting / Dismounting animation = few seconds each
– permanent mount speed buffs equal with the speed buffs offered by the current signets / Temporary sprint buffs equal to the speed buff skills
– damageable / kill-able mount, re spawn mount time after getting killed 245s
The game starts to be very predictable. Every PvE content update has some exploration part (pumpkin carving, Snowmen summoner, refugee stands, audio logs) and an instance or jumping puzzle (mad king dungeon, fractal dungeon, Toypocalipse dungeons, Super Adventure Box)
Now, even the Living Story episodes ends up in a dungeon.
Going this way, I think every new update to the game will open up a new dungeon.
It is time to change the pattern guys. Be more innovative because it feels that you are just transforming the GW2 into a dungeon fighter game.
How about some open world activities?
The end of the living Story for example could be a new zone boss with a new chain of events that will repeat themselves.
Adding new bosses for Everyone not only for parties would be appreciated.
How about some world landscape change for good?
A radical change of a part in one zone that will never return to its original state will create a better history for everyone. You started to do that In LA destroying the Lion Statue, but it was rebuilt again. in the same exact form.
For example, in the Living story you could change the some part of the land into a Volcano adding flaming new foes in the shiver peak mountains. Not all zone will have the snow melted but only a small part of it will be set on fire.
I know this will not be implemented because of the gem charging for server transfer, but still it could be a subject to think about
I understand thet you guys have separated the players between servers for the sake of WvW. I won’t argue your reasons for this choice, but the results are disappointing: empty PvE zones and forever “loosing” servers
My suggestion to fix this situation but in the same time keep the basic idea what you have had at the start is this:
Transform the “server names” into Factions. So instead of having Fort Aspenwood server ot Jade Quarry server, we will have Fort Aspenwood Black Army and Jade Quarry Miners
So, instead of “forcing” a player to choose a server, you could “force” him to join a Faction. It will be more intuitive because everyone of these Factions will have their own Emblem.
All this being done, the players will be put on “one” big server divided into channels which could be changed freely and unlimited whithin the same region (NA or EU) like the districts in GW1
Players can change their faction once a month with the cost of gems.
In this way, people who are interested in PvE will not find themselves alone in their server because the game will make less channels depending on the number of players and those who like WvW will feel more related to a Faction than to a server.
This is an awesome idea which can be developed a lot in the future for the horizontal progression of the game.
Imagine time travels in the past as well as in the future. This equals using the same game zones and transforming them into something else: a past from GW1 (expl. adding the Hydras) or something completely futuristic.
The possibility are just endless in these cases.
Instead of adding new levels to the fractals or more dungeons for parties, changing the existing zones into something else is better in my opinion.
As the OP suggested, the time travel will be done through random locations and the zone will be time limited for each player individually: lets say 1h. After this, the player will be teleported to the original zone and if he wants to go inside again, he will need to find another time portal.
These portals will be rare and will have an event around them before they become operational, similar to the molten army invaders portals
(edited by Ronah.2869)
There are a lot of events – not heart events – happening in the world of Tyria, but if you are not very close to the aria they are in, the world feels really simple.
Sometime, you could run around a map and not find any events because you left to early or you arrived to late at a certain location
To make the world of Tyria more dynamic without too much efforts, I suggest that every event that happens in the world should be seen on the Big Map.
Imagine a world map full of events, some startting some ending some in course of action.
Some events are in the zones you have unlocked, others are in the zones you have never been in.
This would make a great addition to the game because everyone will know where are events happening. The only events shown a.t.m. are the contested Temples in Orr.
Use Overwolf, guys, than you have all you want in-game: browser, teamspeak, facebook,, etc
Even if you have to grind up a few levels it takes like an evening. If you’re lazy. You ever played final fantasy? Did you know you have to grind up levels before you can advance the story in that too?
How am I even supposed to pretend to take this seriously?
It doesn’t matter if you need to grind half of level or a few levels, the point is you are not able to do your storyline continuously without “the extra distractions”.
I can go from start to finish in GW1 without doing anything else than the primary quests and missions. I don’t need a “certain” level to be able to do them.
And that Final Fantasy example is lame. All Asian games are based on grinding so you could take 100 more games as examples, that doesn’t mean they are doing the right thing.
And yea, the mining pick put you on top and is a game breaker because it is not for everyone. Look at the ori materials price
they are a company running a Free to play game.
Excuse me! Are you playing a hacked account because the last time I checked you need to buy the GW2 account and not getting it free.
Ok it’s not pay to win. That is an incorrect statement. You said yourself, “convenience items”
No one is winning any harder if they don’t have to check their store of picks to make sure they have enough/proper grade. Does that mean people who buy the Mystic Forge Conduit off the trading post are also paying to win?
Do you know what winning is in this game? Aside from PVP matches, and completing the story, there really isn’t any “winning” to be had. This isn’t like APB where you can buy better more accurate more powerful weapons.
If ascended gear was gems only I MIGHT agree with you that might be pay to win, except ascended gear doesn’t give a huge edge.
P2W in other MMOs = pay to be on top, while in GW2, P2W= pay to be the first on top. And the “convenience” is a word invented by A-Net to replace the P2W as invented renown hearts to replace the kill 10 rats concept, and the scouts instead of the quest log,
They just hired a psychologist to invent words to distract people from the real thing.
Other MMOs are based on gear so that is the general idea of what a P2W is, so people think that of the endgame.
The endgame in GW2 is based on grinding skins to look better, so all they have in the shop is going around that philosophy.
Even the “we don’t think grinding is fun” from their Manifesto has turned out to be a false statement while everything in the game is based on grinding.
Look at this, you cant even finish your storyline like in a normal single player $60 game without grinding between levels.
The pick is just the beginning There will be the other tools too in some future “Live story” events. The store starts to be full of convenience items which slowly but surely will turn GW2 into a P2W game.
The irony of things – the “iron” pick:
people give free suggestions to A-net through various threads asking some sort of more convenient gathering tools and they just take advantage of them through the gem-store asking money for what they found out for free not even spending one cent on a survey campaign
The reason i am not buying any pick from the gem store is because they deleted one of my comments in here and got myself an infraction point proving that what i said was right.
Dude, my ENTIRE inbox is infractions and deletions. That’s a silly reason.
I will only give you some quotes but not from my comment:
Sir Francis Bacon:
A forbidden writing is thought to be a certain spark of truth, that flies up in the face of them who seek to tread it out.
Walter Bagehot:
So long as there are earnest believers in the world, they will always wish to punish opinions, even if their judgment tells them it is unwise and their conscience tells them it is wrong.
Elias Root Beadle:
Half the work that is done in this world is to make things appear what they are not.
John Adams, :
When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking, or thinking, I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more.

The reason i am not buying any pick from the gem store is because they deleted one of my comments in here and got myself an infraction point proving that what i said was right.
Not really. They pay or steal an account 60 bucks, pay for a mining pick on 1 character.. Then get the entire account banned. That makes no sense money wise, this won’t help them. They don’t want to spend, they want to make.
Mining bots are hard to catch / report. They spend less then 3 seconds in a spot to just 1 hit. Even if you are mining the same nod, you are not quik enough to select the character and send a report.
Farming bots are reportable by normal players, mining bots are not.
Guys, the idea is this: With the excuse of gem-gold exchange, A-Nets consideres that everything they add in the cash shop is affordable by everyone and so, all the content they provide is available for all.
What I wanted to show is that, in this way, it will be easier to take everything out from the game rewards: weapons, armors, etc, and just put them in cash shop. People could just get the gold in the game from whatever activities they do, and then do the gold-gem exchange.
For example… they added the “daily costume brawler” to boost up costume sales.
and about of these mining picks: farming Bots have got an easier job now
The new unlimited mining pick in the gem store, again makes the rich, richer. How about adding these important things in the game not in the gem-store?
“Pay to win” strait in your face.
The rich can buy it with cash or gold, but who could afford the 800 gems = 17g+ if not only the TP masters? So make their life easier for farming more and earn more
In a future update we will see an unlimited harvesting tool and an unlimited chopping axe too, right?
What happens if there is no one around to group up with? You will feel marginalized.
But selling extra content in the cash sho kitten imply plain wrong and goes against the fundamentals of what Anet has promised us.
Obviously, you haven’t read my second comment.
The suggestion will NOT AFFECT THE CURRENT ACCOUNTS because they have already payed $60 for the full game. What I mean is to sell the game now FOR NEW ACCOUNTS at $20 and let them pay extra if they want dungeon pack or PvP pack.
What is so hard to understand?
Besides, you still have in PvE the Story Mode Dungeons. coz they ARE LORE RELATED.
The rest is extra content which should be optional like the DELUXE Edition.
I don’t play PVP or dungeons. Why was I forced to buy a $60 game instead of $20?
They sold me extra content that I don’t need nor care about which seems to expand with every update.
I have re-edited the OP for better understanding
(edited by Ronah.2869)
It would be nice if you would add a place in Lion’s Arch and other major Cities called “Remodeling Stand” In here, the player can come and change some aspects of the weapons within certain numbers.
For example, they could alter
- the length and width of great and standard swords, daggers
- the stick length and head width of staffs, scepters, hammers, maces and torches
- the cumulative size of focuses, pistols, rifles,
- the width of long and short bows, shields
This system will allow the players to be creative within certain limitations but will increase the customization options to make our characters look unique
The same principle could be applied in the future for guild armor design.
(edited by Ronah.2869)
The lack of log in screen + the “way to simple” character selection screen give the players, especially the new ones , a boring feeling about the game which soon will become a real feeling due to the repetitive nature of each zone (down-scaling, hearts, PoIs, Vistas)
They should put more “love” into these screens because they really feel unprofessional
Maybe I haven’t explained it good. The idea is to sell a dungeon pack that will only give you access to the dungeons so you don’t need to run the whole map if you just enjoy doing dungeons.
In GW1 they sold PvP access separately so people who didn’t care of the PvE were paying less price for the game.
I mean, the full game is like it is now, but for those who want just to do dungeons why sell them the full game? If they sold it for $20 Dungeon access, $20 PvP/WvW access and $20 PvE access they can get more types of players in the game due to the affordability
If someone would buy all the access packs they will be like buying a full game
For example, I am not interested in PvP, WvW or Dungeons. I just run the world and do the story. Why should I have bought the game for $60 instead of $20?
(edited by Ronah.2869)
I see that every tine you add new things to the game, sooner or later they all end up in a dungeon / instanced zone: Mad King’s Dungeon, Tixx’s Dungeon, Fractals, Super Adventure Box, etc.
Most of the game’s dungeons, if not all, have a story mode and other explorable modes.
Why not add in the gem store an expansion pack called: " The Dungeon Expansion pack" and all the explorable paths you will add to the next dungeons will be only available to the people who have bought this expansion pack
In this way, you can make the story modes solo-able for everyone and those who want more challenge will buy the expansion.
This pack will work separately from the rest of the game, in a way that you could freely add more explorable paths to the existing dungeons or new exclusive dungeons available only with the pack so the world will not become a dungeon based game.
The dungeon pack will come with a dungeon chat channel where people can talk about it without filling up the zone chat, and also it can have the LFG tool from the internet directly in the game.
to make it short:
The Dungeon Expansion pack – 2000 gems
– free & unlimited access to all explorable paths in all dungeons
– new explorable paths added freely every month to all current and future dungeons
– new exclusive dungeons
– exclusive region wide dungeon chat channel
– dungeon lfg tool
EDIT:
They should sell a separate $20 PVE pack for those interested only in PvE with the option to buy the PvP Pack and Dungeon pack
(edited by Ronah.2869)
i suggest that the little blue flame icon we see in the mini-map or in the world when a player enters the down state will be chn aged in a little box with the text “HELP” in it.
Also, the color of this box should be reddish so it will be more visible. The text can be changed to other languages according to the client language.
When the player is downed completely, the little bone HEAD on the map show pulsate every 12 seconds
I should be allowed to see how much HP is left or what they have starting not saying everyone would want to but a setting that would allow for me to see a number would be great. the enemy downs all the same, having the numbers just makes it an experience difference for me. also having for example 100/100 in the red bar isn’t adding anything more to the UI that isn’t already there.
If they would put this in options very soon 90% of the players will switch to it and the little “unpredictability” of the game what we have now will vanish in thin air.
People choose things that make their life easier
