No problem. Good luck with it all!
Is it possible to unlock the skins from TP then re-sell them? How would I unlock, by equipping or breaking down for crafting parts or some other way?
You unlock a skin by binding it to your account or character. You can do that by equipping the item, putting an upgrade (sigil/rune) in the item, putting it in the mystic forge with other weapons, salvaging the item, or right clicking on it and choosing “Unlock in Wardrobe” or whatever it says. Once you do any of those things, you can’t sell or give it to anyone else. You’ll have to either use it, salvage it, sell it to a vendor, or forge it.
Couldn’t I just buy 34 exotic weapon skins for that achievement? Many are under 1G on the trading post.
I don’t know ANYTHING about ley-energy… would I need that currency to be able to exchange daily? I don’t know what the Dragon Stand meta is…
Thanks for clarification on 1 of 3 random pick per day
Yup, you’d need the currency for the ley-energy one. And Dragon Stand is the final map of all the HoT content where you fight Mordremoth. So, if you’ve not done any of the HoT content, then you’ll have to do some work to get there.
As for the Karmic Converter . . . Yeah, some are 1g or less. Some are 2-10g. But a few are 50g+. So, if you have a lot of gold to spare, yup. It’d be an easy achievement to finish.
I wouldn’t buy them.
Ahh. That I don’t know for sure. I would THINK that they’d just look at the chat log to put the “offending” comment(s) in context and proceed from there to see if that one particular comment/person was way out of line comparatively.
I should note that the available items do change every day. So, I don’t think you’ll have the option to get the wvw box EVERY day. But still.
You can only get the karmic converter by doing the Exotic Hunter collection achievement. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Karmic_Converter
The ley-energy converter is a reward for completing the final part of the Dragon Stand meta in 20 minutes (achievement is called Mouth of Mordremoth Master). The ley-energy one is MUCH cheaper/easier to get than the Karmic one.
There are wxp boosters and wxp mini boosters. You can’t buy them on the gem store, though. I think black lion chests and wvw/eotm chests can still drop them. And you get a mini wxp booster when you get to level 60 or sometimes from wvw rank up chests. And I think the karmaic converter and ley-energy matter converters let you buy a Box of WvW Supplies once a day; those have a chance to drop boosters and the liquid wxp items. Otherwise, no, I don’t think there’s a way to “buy” wxp anymore. You’ll just have to play.
Yeah, they removed the instant level item with HoT, presumably to make people actually play to gain wvw levels. Honestly, there’s no “fastest” or “best” way I know of to gain rank outside of just actively participating in as many events/kills as you can.
No, Anet doesn’t monitor guild chats (or any chat, unless they just happen to be around and see something worth moderating). The players basically moderate guild chat. Anet only gets involved if a player reports another player (or players) for what they say in chat.
Best parental control is the off switch on the router. In all honesty, the game wouldn’t have features for children given that it’s a 16+/Teen rated game. The most there is in the way of controls is a profanity filter which can be turned on and off in the options menu so even if you enable it, your kids could easily (and most likely would) disable it.
It’s rated 12+ in Europe and I was under the impression the US Teen rating implied a similar age but I’m not sure about other regions.
This. An ESRB T rating is 13+. Mature is the next step up, and that’s 17+.
However, those are merely guidelines, and it’s up to the parent to consider their own child’s personality and development when looking into appropriate games for said child. I let my 8 year-old play GW2 because there’s honestly nothing in the game that I think is inappropriate for him to see.

Infantile won’t count, but Normal will. You also have to be taken to the next zone before you’re given your credit and reward for the daily. So, if you’re leaving the zone before you’re teleported to the next one, you’re not getting credit.
No. You have to police your/your child’s gameplay yourself or use other tools to help control how much time you spend online.
Honestly, they’ve been boring since about a year after they were introduced.
Wow. That’s really, really weird. I’d make a support ticket and send that screenshot to Anet, as well as bug report it (if you still can).
That’s really strange. I’ve never heard of anyone saying this happens since they reworked it all. Could you show a screenshot?
It goes away April 19th and will be an annual festival.
Are you sure you’re talking to the correct NPC? Also, are you sure you opened the box you originally got and that it’s not still in your ranger’s inventory?
Feel free to give it to me.
Or sell it and realize you still got a precursor, so you’re “luckier” than a lot of other players.
No, you can’t get a precursor on a toon that can’t get NORMAL level 80 exotic drops (ie. a level 50 character). There are exotics that drop ONLY from champ bags, however, and those can be dropped for a character of any level. Those are the exotics like Crustacea, Bonetti’s Rapier, Lord Taeres’ Shadow, Crystal Guardian, etc. So, those can drop from champ bags on your level 50 character, but a precursor won’t drop.
You have to buy them from the legendary crafting NPC. He’s standing next to the armorsmithing and weaponsmithing stations in LA. It costs around 10k karma.
If I recall correctly, you have to have a torch to get past the waterfall in normal mode, too. It’s just part of the whole upgrade thing that you’re meant to do as you play the zones. But I do sympathize with the frustration you must feel.
Actually I finished it in normal mode without a torch, but that path isn’t accessible in tribulation mode as far as I know. So I never even stumbled upon that waterfall.
Ahh, it may be a different waterfall I’m thinking of then, or maybe it’s been changed. But I do remember having to use one last time SAB was in the game.

RNG is RNG.
It’s in Rata Sum. There’s a gold star on the map showing where in Rata Sum.
Hm, I’m not exactly sure what you mean. Could you take a screen shot or two showing the runes/armor?
Can not tell if joking or serious -.-
…Ditto . . .
I’m reading tongue-in-cheek. If this is serious, I’ll have to moderate my own comment.
I think it’s all good and that it was definitely tongue-in-cheek. The internet just makes us all suspicious.
Omg I forgot just how much people whined about last year. It’s honestly not surprising at all that they didn’t do a typical prank.

…
Ditto . . .
They devs did this already. :p https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-April-1-2016-Part-2
You probably reached the daily and monthly cap, which would explain why you don’t get AP for dailies anymore. Which other achievements have you done that you’re sure you didn’t get AP for?
There’s a notice in red letters on the pop up that appears as you walk up to the SAB. It warned you. So yeah, read before clicking blindly.
I did read it and didn’t lose my buffs, but can’t do the games because of my buffs?
Correct. But you could do it on an alt.

Isn’t it under festival? Maybe it will be yearly then.
It’ll definitely be an annual thing.
And we still can’t skip that first cut scene/introduction. Oh well.
I wonder why it isn’t a permanent part of the game, as popular as it is, and as desperately as we need content to actually play right now.
If it was in the game permanently, it wouldn’t be new/different content for long. After a couple of months people would be bored again because they’d run SAB enough times that they’re tired of it. I’m not saying it SHOULDN’T be in the game permanently; I’m just saying its permanent presence wouldn’t really be all that helpful.
There is no world 3 (yet). There is Tribulation mode for each level of worlds 1 and 2, however, and completing those helps you create the different colored weapons.
I can finally spend my bauble bubbles.
Yes, thank you Just a Flesh Wound. This thread has been VERY useful this month.
there are whisper’s about SAB coming back tomorrow on reddit. (not to get anyone’s hopes up)
guess we’ll see
There are whispers (and often shouts and begging) every year on this day.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to completely turn off any of that. “Disable personal story” works to an extent for the PS text, but that’s about it for what you’re talking about.
I understand reducing scribing costs, but as someone who got to 400 on their own in the current market well before any news of scribing costs being reduced, I can’t help but hold some disdain for that switch and feel somewhat cheated. Level 400 scribes prior to reducing will have had no advantage or benefit to being said level, outside of having spent an exorbitant amount of money (I and many others who achieved 400 spent thousands in real life $$$ to do so) for the satisfaction alone of having achieved something that not many were capable of at the time.
This change both makes me jealous that future scribes will enjoy significantly lowered costs of entry and irritated that I wasted literally thousands of real life dollars on what amounted to a few chairs and a collection item that no one cares to fund building.
I can kind of understand what you’re saying. The scribing costs are currently ridiculously expensive, and that’s something that I’m glad is being changed. But shouldn’t you be placing some (or most) of that blame on yourself? You chose to spend that much REAL money on something in-game that you won’t really even use that often. Anet didn’t force you to level to 400 in Scribing.

I can’t wait for the crying to begin.
When did we all lose our sense of humor? We used to love this / look forward to it in GW1.
Last years April fools was just annoying. I play with in game sounds but to hear brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr killed my ears.
Yes, I’ll agree that least years got annoying after a bit, but it was still chuckle worthy. I still laughed until my cheeks hurt when I first loaded in (and the initial wtf is happening moment passed). After that I just adjusted my sound or my graphics (depending on my mood) and carried on.
I remember when it triggered last year. I was hanging around LA, and all of a sudden everyone started going “wtf happened to my screen?” And then my arms were suddenly sticking out, and I was making airplane noises as I ran. I nearly died laughing.
You should probably make sure you didn’t buy it from some scam or unofficial retailer. If your source is legit, then contact support.
What, if… instead of the chicken we made a Giant Trojan Rabbit. We could wait till nightfall and then leap out of the Rabbit, taking the Charr, uh, by surprise. Not only by surprise, but totally unarmed!
Now, who’s supposed to jump out of the rabbit?
Right now only up to level 10 FoTM is required.
Dusk requires Mai Trin for the first tier, and I think the lowest for that fractal is 25.
Have you tried using the search bar in your inventory to look for the scraps? Sometimes it can be easy to miss things when we have so many items in our inventory. Do the same in your bank to make sure it didn’t somehow get double-clicked into the bank.
When I got frustrated and tried ‘Alreadyinuse’ I found it highly amusing (and unsurprising) that it was already in use.
That made me giggle.
Honestly, I choose whatever pops into my brain at that moment. My first character was Weepingus Angelus because I was watching a Weeping Angel episode of Doctor Who around the time I made her. A year and a halfish ago I renamed her Alyssan Targaryen (and changed her hair white and eyes purple) because I was reading A Game of Thrones.
My warrior’s name is Goldilachs because I wanted a blonde warrior, and I figured that name would work well for a blonde.
My first guardian’s name is Out Of Good Names. You can guess why I called her that.
