what a disappointment, it has been calling the “sunglasses aviator and sport sunglasses” since the beginning of the month, and what if people are buying gems and keep the game afloat ago? None of course! so for my part I stop buying gems and bring things to this game so ungrateful.

Tons of people begged for the bunny ears for over a year before we finally got them back this month. The month isn’t even over yet; the sunglasses COULD still come back. If they don’t, there’s always the next sale.

I was practicing this and not even getting silver before the nerf….Being elderly and no whizzy boots like the young things, I am most disappointed the skill was removed, now there is no chance. I am sure eventually I would have done it, but alas no glints shield (I have everything else for the shield). Not a good or pleasant change, please reverse it!

It wasn’t done on purpose. It’s a bug that’s still waiting to be fixed (if it’s still yet to be fixed, that is). Hopefully the patch next month will take care of it.

How many del. Ingots for dusk?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: RoseofGilead.8907

RoseofGilead.8907

The thing i want to know is why does the Dusk collection require so many more ascended materials than The Legend collection? They’re both two handers. Why should people need an extra 30-40 deldrimor ingots than someone crafting the legend (who only needs about 50 spiritwood). Seems incredibly unfair. I’d understand if it was just a one hander, but this doesn’t make sense.

It might cost fewer materials, but the materials are more expensive (which makes crafting The Legend more expensive than crafting Dusk). So, it comes out pretty evenly.

Check your traits to see if you have any that grant a condition/damage/aoe when triggered by your mace or scepter. Also, make sure you’re paying close attention to your weapon skills so that you’re not accidentally using your offhand skills (or utility skills) to do the killing blow.

how interesting to know that so many people care more about keeping promises for niche “content” than a quality game

It’s about keeping promises. The backlash (for the most part) isn’t about the legendaries; it’s the unfulfilled promise (or appearance of promise). And another reason why the backlash is so big is because it’s just another brick in the wall of reasons why so many people feel HoT wasn’t worth it. WP’s video does a pretty good job explaining the common complaints and criticisms of the game, Anet’s communication with the players, and promises (both in the far past and the recent past).

I’ve been getting this myself as well. I spent 7 hours farming silver wastes to get gold, events, and items to pull to bits for mets for crafting, I had 200g when I logged off, logged back on the next day and I’m back to 97 silver. I brushed it off as a bug at first, so I set about farming again to work up the gold so I can craft, signed off, lost internet for a few weeks singed back on and I’m back to 97silver, its utterly ridicules! I’ve had NO replies from tickets sent in, its like they are being ignored and closed!

Have you sent in an actual support ticket from the website, or did you send a bug report in-game? If you sent bug reports, you won’t ever get a response. You have to make one support ticket (making multiples will delay your response time), and then wait up to 72 hours for a reply.

He said something similar in the video, too. So, if Mo (and/or ArenaNet at large) come out and say “Yeah, we really do think HoT was the right size for a good expansion”, WP will be leaving the game. He didn’t say he’s leaving now or that this was his last video (or one of the last videos).

My main account has bought two extra bank tabs; the second one was only bought a few months ago. My second account hasn’t ever bought any additional bank tabs. Honestly, I’ve never felt pressured to buy more bank tabs. Anytime I have bought them it was a case of “Well, I have a lot of gems, and I don’t see any shinies I want; I might as well get a bank tab”.

I do agree that some things should have their own deposit slot (doubloons, black lion tickets/scraps, blade shards, etc.). However, I don’t feel like Anet is stingy with inventory or bank space, either. If you’re a hoarder, then you’re going to need more space. If you’re not, you won’t need more.

That seems…risky. I think of how much of a disaster it would be if my employer brought in a volunteer to “assist” me with my work in any meaningful way. It wouldn’t save me very much time, unless that person was skilled enough and committed enough that we might as well be paying them as an employee.

Volunteers are great for a lot of things, but they’re not free employees.

This. It’s way tricky to make these things actually work. You need people who aren’t going to flake once they realize how big of a job it is. You also need people who actually work well together (which can be hard to find when you’re just doing a general call out for help). And you also, obviously, need people who have the talent/skill/education needed.

I’ve seen at least a few projects funded through Kickstarter and other such places that never got off the ground because one (or more) of the “volunteers” helping with the project disappeared/didn’t meet deadlines/had a difference of opinion with other people working on the project.

It’s unlikely they’re young kids. It’s more likely they:

1) Don’t have chat turned on.
2) Don’t speak/read English well, and so they don’t know what’s being said to them.
3) Just don’t give a crap.
4) Have lag problems
5) Have children/cats/dogs/tiny elves running around that distract them from paying attention to instructions.
6) Really, really don’t give a crap.
7) Don’t understand the basics of how chat works.
8) Don’t really want your help.

How is this legal? As part of the product sold, you agreed to provide us with 15 legendary weapons over the course of the expansion, you can’t renege on that.

One: they never promised we’d definitely have all of the legendaries within a set time frame.
Two: it’s not illegal at all because it’s their property, and there’s probably even a part of the ToS we signed that explains how any and all information given is subject to change at the will of the company.

New armor skins

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Anet has said that armor skins (particularly full sets) aren’t going to be released on the gem store anymore. Those will be reserved for content rewards, while outfits will remain gem store.

Oh please, for god’s sake, I’m so tired of hearing this unhelpful information.
The player base wants more armour. (There is no-one who would legitimately say, “Anet, don’t create more armour pieces, just create outfits.”)

That doesn’t change the fact that what I said is entirely true. No need to be all hostile to me about it.

Lock on sending items/coin is outrageous

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: RoseofGilead.8907

RoseofGilead.8907

The fact that people will argue with you about it is insulting especially since like me, most of them probably never experienced such a lockout because when we started one didn’t exist. (though the TP didn’t exist for nearly a month after launch, so there was no way to sell kitten).

Just to give my own experience here:

I have three accounts. One was made at launch, one was made last year, and then I made a free account a few months ago to test out “free to play”. I’ve experienced the at least some of the new paid account restrictions (not all because some of the mail restrictions and such were applied after I bought my second account), and I’ve experienced all of the free account ones. They’re really nothing bad, and as long as you actually play the game, you’ll quickly get past the cautionary restrictions for the new paid accounts.

Edit: It’s already been stated many times that there is a good reason why these temporary restrictions are in place.

RoseofGilead.8907

Yeah, that’s not what’s happening. The main flow of item selling/buying in GW2 is the Trading Post. You have full access to the trading post almost immediately, even on brand new accounts.

Wrong.

I cannot buy items from the TP.

Then something very specially wrong is going on with your account because there’s no level restriction or time restriction on when you can use the TP. Even free to play accounts can use it (they just are limited in what they can buy/sell). What happens when you try to buy items from the TP?

Similarly, what happens when you try to mail gold (or an item) to someone? Because, as long as you meet the requirements (correct level to send items and have set up the SMS or app authenticator), you should be able to send both gold and items; you just have a cap on how much you can spend. As we’ve already said, that cap will go away as you play and as your account gets older.

There is the 3 or 4 day verification thing.

Yeah, but I thought the 3-4 day thing was for Gem Store purchases or buying gems via the gem store only. I didn’t think it applied to the Trading Post, unless you’re on a free account.

Your GW2 isn’t 10+ years old, though. You’re a brand new player in GW2, and so your account will be treated as such.

I don’t want to have to explain why they can’t engage in commerce.

Yeah, that’s not what’s happening. The main flow of item selling/buying in GW2 is the Trading Post. You have full access to the trading post almost immediately, even on brand new accounts. On brand new accounts, you can send mail when you’re level 6, send/receive items after 7 days, and the more you play, the more gold/items you can send. So, your friends wouldn’t be blocked from engaging in “commerce”.

Your equipment has absolutely no effect on your pets stats.

Does this same logic also apply to summoned pets, i.e. elementals, minions summoned by a necromancer, etc.?

Minions and illusions will inherit some of the same stats as the player character, but other stats (such as health) are pre-set and (at least in the case of necro minions) based on the player character’s level.

I’m not too sure about what elementalist elementals are based on.

Why love for Tybalt, and not other mentors?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: RoseofGilead.8907

RoseofGilead.8907

1. He’s furry.
2. He has a self-depricating sense of humor.
3. His back story is harsh, but he has maintained a positive attitude.
4. Your interactions with him are written like a buddy cop comedy rather than a mentor/trainee situation (Forgal) or being given a slightly nutty and whimsical partner (Sieren). Your first mission with him involves a hilarious drinking contest, a poorly planned rescue, and general comedy. Gotta love that.

I think all three mentors have their own really good qualities. They’re all written differently, though, so it’s hard to compare the relationships the player character has with each one. Tybalt, as I said above, is the buddy cop comedy character; your character feels more like a partner than a trainee in that story due to the way the dialogue is written.

Forgal, on the other hand, is written as the stern father figure character; he’s a bit rough towards you, but he also quickly respects your abilities. The dynamic still largely remains as father figure/child; the relationship never really feels like it goes into the equal partners area.

And then we have Sieran. She’s never really been my favorite, but the story with her has its charms. The player character honestly feels more like the mentor here because of Sieran’s childlike enthusiasm for every single kittening thing in existence. You’re both friendly from the beginning with some comedy added, but, again, it’s written pretty differently from the Tybalt story.

TL;DR: Tybalt is great. But it’s hard to compare the relationship the player character has with each mentor because their respective relationship dynamics are different.
