Have you tried changing the Content Guide (in Options) to “Hide Events and Personal Story”?

It’s a bug that’s popped up for people who have the recipe. Your best bet is to submit a support ticket to see if they can make it sellable.

When you buy gems, they’re yours. You won’t lose them if you don’t use them, and they’ll stay in your account until you spend them. You won’t lose them due to server errors, but even if that somehow did happen, they have a record of what you’ve bought/spent. The end.

I don’t think OP is asking for anyone to cater to his needs. On the contrary, he seems to be leaving the maize balm farmers alone when he encounters them. He just wants to be able to reach HIS goal, too.

You’d have to contact support and ask if they can give you the recipe you meant to buy.

The refined dragonite/empyreal/bloodstone stuff, yeah. But you can’t make the sellable ascended mats (damask, elonian leather, deldrimor steel) until 500.

They may be little jerks for kicking someone for that. The person who taunted the person after they got kicked is definitely a jerk, too. However, they’re not committing any LFG abuse. If you’re going to report them, report them for scamming, and then report the person who whispered you for verbal abuse. You could even make a support ticket, and send Anet the uncensored screenshots. However, reporting them for LFG abuse won’t do anything because they haven’t done anything that is LFG abuse.

To answer the title question, yes, the in-game report function does work. But people have to use it properly, and Anet has to find actual wrong-doing (and researching these things can take time).

I’m just curious, but why would you choose that way to level? I mean, so many other things give (sometimes more) exp, and they don’t involve staying in the same map for that long.

Back in 2014 we released the September Feature Pack, which introduced a number of changes to the game. Among those changes were revisions to the Personal Story, including a reorganization of certain story steps. The “My Greatest Fear” story steps were deactivated for many players, and three steps from chapter 8 were moved into chapter 7. This prevented some players from accessing certain content and also introduced some continuity errors.

What We’re Restoring
To put it simply, we’re reactivating the “My Greatest Fear” story steps and putting chapter 8 content back in its original position in the overall narrative. We’re also making some minor improvements to the content, like writing and recording new voice-over for a few key characters, tweaking some camera moves, updating select art assets, and more.

What This Means for You
When the update goes live, it will restore the Personal Story steps in chapters 7 and 8 to their original order. This will affect a small number of users who currently have characters in certain states of story completion. You can check your current story completion status by accessing the Story Journal in your Hero Panel. By default, you can access this inside the game by pressing H and then clicking on the Story Journal tab and selecting My Story.

If your character has not completed “A Light in the Darkness,” (chapter 6) you should not encounter any issues. You will be able to experience the Personal Story in its restored order along with the minor improvements that begin with this story step.

If your character has not completed “Forging the Pact,” you should not encounter any issues. While you will not be able to replay previous story steps to see some of the minor improvements that were made, you will be able to play the “My Greatest Fear” story content (based on the choice you made at the end of “A Light in the Darkness”) and also experience the restored chapter 8 story steps.

If your character has completed Forging the Pact and skipped ahead to “The Battle of Fort Trinity,” then you will not be able to play the “My Greatest Fear” story steps with this character.

If your character is currently playing “Against the Corruption,” “Cathedral of Silence,” “Romke’s Final Voyage,” or “The Source of Orr,” you must complete your story steps through the Source of Orr to begin chapter 8. If you do not complete “The Source of Orr” before the Personal Story restoration goes live, you will be advanced to “Victory or Death” upon completion of “The Source of Orr.” “Victory or Death” is the final Personal Story step (and you will miss out on most of chapter 8 with this character). This is due to these steps being moved back into chapter 8 and the successor steps being restored to their original state.

The story step “Victory or Death” and “The Ruined City of Arah (story)” dungeon are being merged and revised to support 1–5 players. The previous version of the Ruined City of Arah (story) dungeon will be retired, and the explorable version will be unlocked by default."

Yes, as long as you open them on a character that can get level 80 exotics as normal drops, you have a small chance at getting a precursor from those champ bags.

Not really. It doesn’t take much effort for someone to ask what the person is wearing or tabbing out to google the basic description or post a screenshot to the forums to ask what it is.

As a side note, I think a lot of us have played long enough that we can tell what a skin is after a quick glance.

You can only put light skins on light armor, medium on medium, and heavy on heavy. You can use outfits to achieve a light look on a heavy class.

Even lowbies can get lvl 80 exotics (in pve) so I assume rank up chest work same. I think only your chance to get better stuff (exo/asc) is lower with lowbie.

The only level 80 exotics you can get as a low level character (as a drop) are the special leveling exotics (ones that are exotic but, like, level 10, 20, 30, etc.) or champ bag exclusive exotics (Arc, Crustacea, Cobalt, Genesis, Bonetti’s Rapier, etc.).

In the case of the Guild Initiative place, you start out under the map. When you relog, you end up on top of the roof, and then you can jump your way inside the building. That’s the way I’ve seen it, anyway.

Yeah, it’s easy to get in there once you know how to get under the map. You can also get in the Black Lion Trading Company vault that way.

Also, that’s the Guild Initiative Headquarters.

It’s a bug. Open up the main map (press M), zoom all the way out, and go to the waypoint closest to the green star (the one indicating a story instance) on the map.

Yeah, I just bought Ghost Carlotta last year with candy corn cobs. Hopefully, they’ll have the same reward again this year. But regardless, you can do as Linfang suggested and contact support to see if they’ll replace the physical item.

No, it does not teleport you to the dungeon. You don’t have to walk all the way to the dungeon, but you do need to be in the same map the dungeon is in to join your party inside said dungeon.

Plus, you wouldn’t be able to wear a set of shoulder armor with an outfit (and that character in the screenshot is wearing an outfit).

If you buy the editions that come with a slot, you get that slot right away (or at least within a couple of hours). You get the second slot (the “veteran” slot) the Friday after you order.

I’m very excited for the content (especially the Mad King mini dungeon, yay!). But I’m extra sad because I’ll have to rush to get as much done as I can in a day and a half, since it’s not lasting a full two weeks (and I’ll be out of town from the 24th until the 1st). Oh well. It’ll still be fun.

Nope, you can’t put other helms on outfits; you have to use the outfit’s helm or not use any helm.

Is the feature only going to be active for your currently repped guild? If so, the person(s) hiding could unrep.

Uh, I thought you COULD change that with the hair kit. You can change it with the total makeover kit. I don’t see why the hair kit wouldn’t let you.

My advice, though, is to pick a style that doesn’t have an accessory. This way you won’t have to worry about it if you decide to change your armor colors.

Nope, you can buy them with any class. They automatically become bound to the character when you buy them, and all you have to do to get credit for the achievement is buy them from the vendor and bind them.

I think PPK is Points Per Kill (relating to wvw, for example, where when your server gets a point for every player killed). It’s something that’s been used during special events in wvw, I believe. The typical scoring in there, however, is PPT, which means Points Per Tick (score is updated every 15 minutes based on how many things your world owns in wvw).

That achievement has a cap on how much AP you can get from it. You probably hit the cap.

Anet seems to have just flat out abandoned dungeons. There was/is a recent thread in the Dungeon/Raid section where someone asked if Raids were going to be left behind the way dungeons were, and the dev replies to the comment didn’t even mention dungeons (only talked about how they’ll keep updating and tweaking raids as the game goes on).

So, while some of us would love to see Dungeon dailies again (or have them be involved in other things, such as guild missions), it doesn’t seem like that’ll happen.

I think you’re thinking too much into it. They’re probably players who just had to go do something else outside of the game, and so they just left the characters standing where they were.

As for why they’re naked, it’s because every time you die, your armor gets damaged. After you die seven times, your armor will start breaking (piece by piece) each time you die. When your armor breaks, it disappears from your character model, leaving that part of your body exposed.

It’s not just you. My humans say “Hurts, doesn’t it” when they get hit on occasion, without them attacking anything; the mob hitting them is what triggers it. Weirdness.

You get a hero point every time you level up before hitting level 80. You can get additional ones from hero challenges.

It takes up to 72 hours to get the gems. It’s in place to prevent fraudulent purchases.

Precursor system, not Legendary system. The process of making a legendary will still require the same steps and mats. The only thing that’s changing is the precursor mastery tracks, and that the new ones will be account bound.

Even though i dont think that they will adjust the forge recipes for the gifts for the old legendaries, i dont recall them explicitly saying that it will stay the same.

You’re right, I forgot that they did say this:

So, they’ll likely use the same mats, need crafting, yadda yadda yadda. But you’ll have to run around to get more stuff, it looks like.

Naming and shaming isn’t allowed on the forums. So, you need to delete the people’s screennames and hide their names in the screenshots, if you want the post to stay. If the people verbally abused you, you can report them in-game and submit a support ticket with the screenshots/screennames.

Well, there’s not really a way to pick exactly which colors they used. But the green parts are pretty close to Ceylon and Spring Dyes. Green Apple isn’t too far off, either. As for purple, both Purple and Recall dyes looked fairly close, to me.
