There is no title for doing any of the “Mob Slayer” achievements; you only get AP and a sense of accomplishment. The Slayer title is a PvP title.
Basically, if you’re prone to server lag, you’re going to have this problem. If you’re not prone to it (like me), you’re not going to have this problem. It really sucks for those who do have lots of the lag problems.
I agree with Ayrilana. Sorrow’s Furnace is VERY easy to do with only heroes. I ended up doing FoW with my husband and 6 heroes; it was also pretty easy. Sorrow’s Furnace is free to enter anytime; you just have to run that way. FoW is free during Pantheon Bonus week (which will be up again in 7 weeks, I think). And The Deep/Urgoz will have their “free” week in four weeks, I think.
Another gold purchase that is required for each legendary is the recipe for the corresponding gift that has to be crafted and isnt forged.
I think its 10g per recipe.
Yup, forgot all about those. So yeah, you’ll need to factor in the cost for those.
T6 mats are the second most expensive thing you need for legendary. Unfortunately, there is no efficient way of farming them, so you just do content for gold and buy them. By the time you get the gold, you’d have some T6 mats picked up from the farm.
Saving up your laurels for a month or two, and then buying a ton of t6 bags helps a lot (and saves a lot of money).
But wait a minute. Some of you said the mats required for a legendary aren’t purchasable through the TP, and that they can be farmed. But GW2Legends says they are.
Take a look at the page for Twilight, for example: http://www.gw2legends.net/Twilight
At the bottom it tells us the amount of gold we’d have to spend throughout the process would be slightly over 2000. Is this assuming we buy every mat off of the TP? What if we don’t and simply farm them? What would the gold amount be then? I don’t mind wasting time rather than money. My concern, however, is if most of the mats are time-gated.
Most of the mats required for making a legendary can be bought on the TP, farmed in open world, or bought with gold/karma from specific merchants. The only things you can’t buy on the TP are dungeon tokens (you need 500 of a specific dungeon’s currency to get a particular gift item), obsidian shards (either bought with karma/fractal relics or gotten as a drop from chests in Silverwastes and Dry Top), Gift of Battle (bought with 500 wvw badges of honor + 50 silver), and icy runestones (can only be purchased from one merchant for 1g per runestone). Everything else can be bought or farmed and then crafted into their respective gifts; and yes, you have to be the one to craft them, as the gifts are account bound on acquire.
If you want to know how much you’d save by farming everything that can be farmed, go to the link you shared above. Look at the total amount, and subtract the amounts for all of the mats (with the exception of the icy runestones).
Keep in mind that a large chunk of that cost will be that precursor, since the greatswords and staff have the most expensive precursors.
Rarer & Rare amount to the same thing when there are no ‘rare’ salvageable materials with a rarity lower than exotic (that I am aware of). T
Rares can give back ectos, like exotics can. As long as they’re above the level barrier, of course. But yeah, greens, blues, and whites don’t really have any “rare” materials to give back.
Low level toons, as far as I know, will only get gear that’s around their level. That’s been my experience when getting rank up chests on my non-80s in wvw. I’ve only ever gotten ascended on my 80s.
Yeah, the /kw?ei/ pronunciation is pretty much exclusive to the US, and even some regions of the US say it as /ki/.
Hooray for regional differences of the same language.
I just find a mostly empty area and paste it there, in /say chat. Or go to my home instance.
They’re so cute, yet they terrify me.
Bouncing chests of doom. You guys might want to send Evon in there. The poor specialists inside look terrified.

i think its not fair to make ppl wait for what they pay for. i would like my gems. i mean we are loyal customers for christ sake. so anet do us all a solid. show us how much you care about us.
That waiting period is there because Anet cares and wants to make sure someone didn’t sell you an already registered copy/steal your payment info/compromise your account.
It’s exploits@arena.net
It’s an item that just lets you go directly to your home instance; that’s all it does. You can’t travel to it with him because that’s just not how it works.
Yeah, as far as I know, making a legendary will be the same as before. You’ll need different gifts for the new ones, but the old ones won’t change in their crafting process.
Share your secret plan! Because I can’t beat that sucker, not when I mouse turn, and I have zero WASD skills. The best I ever did in six hours straight trying the first year was getting to the point where you have to jump down towards the rising whirlpool to get on the last spiral up … and that rising whirlpool? It had risen.
The second year I did it just enough to confirm I still couldn’t mouse-control my way up the constant right turn spiral and gave up
My first year, I couldn’t beat it at all. Then, year two, I was able to beat it after just a couple of tries. Last year, I’d run it for fun; I wouldn’t complete it EVERY time, but I’d still get multiple completions per round.
That first year, I was trying to turn with WASD keys, was on a slower internet connection, and had an older computer. What made the difference for me the next year was using the mouse to turn the camera (basically just holding down the right mouse button the whole time) and (even more importantly) having a solid internet connection and a computer that could handle everything going on in the clocktower.
So, you’re going to have to make the WASD keys your kitten. Start using them to run around and do basic vistas with, but make sure you keep using the mouse to change the camera angle. Then, once the tower is back in, keep trying until you get it.
Does your LS panel show that you completed the achievements?
Yeah, sounds that way. You could always wait until the next time Taidha Covington’s event is up. It’s easy to get in there during/after that is done.
I just went to that vista and was able to jump down onto the ship below it to run over to the POI and SP.
If you have 26k AP, you’ve likely hit the cap for daily/monthly.
If you’re going to get it, I’d say use it on larger bodies. It looks really, really cool when you’re on a charr or norn because you can see the neat detail of the spine and ribs better than you can on humans, sylvari, and especially asura. Charr tails also get a cool look with the outfit.
The good thing about outfits is that you can toggle them on and off anytime you want, on any character on your account. Wear it until you get tired of it, and then come back to it again once you want to see it.
That’s people using Maize Balm on ambients to turn them into candy corn elementals.
When they released the Feature Patch in September 2014, they changed around some of the later Personal Story steps (and removed a couple of them). A few months ago, they reverted the Personal Story to its original order; in this “original” order you do the Cleansing of Orr step right before doing the final PS mission (Victory or Death). If you hadn’t completed Victory or Death before they reverted the order, then you were just reset back to re-do those last parts in the original order.
So, yeah. It’s not a bug; it’s how it was originally organized.
I really loved these. It’d be great to see more of these on the odd occasion, preferably with blog posts.
We kind of do have this mission in the game. It’s the Quaggan rescue guild mission. Except here dumber than a bowl of tartar sauce doesn’t quite cut it. The quaggan I’m escorting to safety takes the long way around and attacks them like he’s sending a message to the krait. All the while im thinking: Just escape dude. Any way out of there, i’ll escort you back to your home (that’s literally 100 yards from the Krait base).
GW1 npcs were (at least in some cases, such as Jalis and Rurik) so much worse than those quaggans. They will Leeroy Jenkins to their death while you’re still finishing up the last mob from the group they just made angry. Every time.
Have you checked your bank and inventory to make sure it didn’t just move around/move to the bank?
Love this event and its one that is always looked forward to. Any confirmation when its running this year? Is it the normal 21/22 or any chance of it starting earlier with HoT?
Launches on HoT launch day, from what I’ve heard.
I’m pretty sure that’s one of the stat sets only found on the special “leveling equipment” you can get as drops or get the recipes for as drops.
“It depends on the level of the item, if it has a chance to salvage into a higher material in the first place.
And when it does, the rate doesnt seem to get buffed by the amount noted in the salvage kit tooltip.”
This. The level of the item you’re breaking down determines what basic (wood, metal, cloth) materials you’ll get back. The higher end salvage kits will only give you a better chance at RARE materials and runes/sigils.
PvP always brings out the petty name-calling, no matter what. And that’s no different here. The pve and wvw communities are generally pleasant.
So yes, they do unlock to your account, but unlike weapons and armor skins, you don’t get to keep it in your inventory to use after you have unlocked it.
I think you missed the part where you can flush it WITHOUT binding it to your account and it will AUTOMATICALLY bind to your account.
I do it with weapon skins that I may not have. I buy 4 different weapons off the TP that I don’t have the skins unlocked and just toss them into the forge. All 4 skins unlock and I get my random non-precursor weapon out.
Never even right-click unlock.
Gimmie a few and I’ll try it with 4 random minis.
Minis aren’t skins. It doesn’t work that way for minis.
I know they state this, but they don’t try it yourself, go wvw, use berzerker armor, it will damage every time you die, if i use dire, i can die like 5-6 times before any of armor parts gets damaged.. there is something fishy about it..
You’re just mistaken. I wear only zerker armor. It only “breaks” when I’ve died enough times (7 times) without repairing my “damaged” armor inbetween. That’s how it works for every weight and stat combo. Your backpack will get damaged first, followed by the rest of your armor.
Do take note of what Lucretia said above; if you’re playing wvw while your server has the Outmanned/Outnumbered buff, your armor won’t break.
As was said above, all armor weights break in the same way. Only combat (and some lava) deaths will damage your gear. Plus, you’re in zerker gear now, and you might just be dying more often.
Any idea that starts with “keep stupid NPC that contributes nothing to the fight alive” needs to be burned to the ground.
Like a lot of the GW missions. Try doing the Nolani Academy on HM without rushing directly to the boss before Rurik commits suicide.
I redid that one recently. It reminded me just how much I hate Rurik (and how much I hate the “you better keep this delicate butterfly alive” missions).
I assume you’re talking about Kholer in AC (the ghost boss you encounter after the Spider Queen and graveling hallway). The point of stacking is to just burn a boss down as quickly as possible; that’s why your party were wondering what you were doing when you tried to hide from the attack.
That whirling axes attack of his has an obvious and long set-up. If you can see well enough, watch for when he slowly spreads his arms out and pulls back his sword; this is what he does right before he pulls everyone to him to Whirlwind them. When you see him do that, either pop a stability skill or a reflect to keep him from pulling you. You could also just learn the timing and dodge the pull.
If you can’t see well enough to avoid it and get pulled, use a stun break and then dodge backwards as soon as you can to avoid being chopped to death; run back up close again once he stops his spinning attack. You could also pop an invulnerability skill (aegis, for example) to help you survive the attack.
As for dungeon tactics and info in general, you could look at the official wiki, search for youtube videos, and/or use gw2dungeons.net.
Plus, little things could cause the bonus to fail and you might never know until completing the mission.
I forgot about that part. Not knowing if you got the bonus until the mission was over was one of the worst things about some of the GW1 missions.
If it’s been that long since you put in a support ticket, you can post your ticket number to the thread I’m posting below to let them know you’re still waiting. But also note that a Bug Report (which is what you can submit in-game) isn’t the same as a Support Ticket; if you did a Bug Report, you won’t get a response.
You can’t. Trainers are gone now, too. By the time you hit 80, you’ll have enough to unlock all traits and skills. You can’t unspend any spent points.
I freaking hated that mission. 20+ minutes are spent literally standing there, killing quickly-killed mobs, waiting for more things to kill.
You must have played it after the nerf
I did do it once back when I first got the game way back when, but I honestly don’t remember much of how it was then (other than mobs obviously being tougher). The most recent times are, obviously, post-nerf.
That being said, it was still 20+ minutes of standing in the same area fighting waves of mobs. It’s not something I particularly care to repeat for raids in GW2.

I really miss pretty much all of my Ritualist armors, especially the Imperial set. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Ritualist_Elite_Imperial_armor_f.jpg
The Kurzick and Luxon armors were both pretty neat, too, for pretty much all classes.
Have you tried contacting support?
You have to buy the recipe to make the Celestial Orichalcum Imbued Inscription. It’s around 5 silver on the TP.
There is already a thread about this on the first page. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Fishing-5/first#post5581465
Are you thinking what I’m thinking? That the OP is — wait for it — fishing for a response?
Oh boy . . .

That could so beautifully replace the current witch’s outfit, which is just a reskin of the hexed outfit.
The hexed outfit is a reskin of the witch outfit.
You can’t play with anyone on a different region. You’d have to either switch to an EU server or join an NA guild to do guild missions/play together.
