That’ll give you less of a chance. Forge stones act as a random replacement. So, throwing in three exotic GS and a forge stone is the same as throwing in three exotic GS and an exotic axe (for example).

Exotic champ bags drop the same T5-6 mats and named exotics for all characters, regardless of level.

Character level only does two things:

• It affects the level of gear dropped (armor, weapons, trinkets); that will match the toon level.
  • L53-57 toons probably have the most valuable greens.
  • L80s have the most valuable rares.
  • L60s have a nice mix of the two.
• Sub-L80 toons don’t get bloodstone dust (a big plus for people conserving space; a big minus for those working on ascended gear).

If you want to maximize the wealth you receive from selling bag contents on the TP or from salvaging mats, use an L50-60 toon.

All true, except for one small thing: Any quality of champ bag can drop the champ bag exclusive exotics. I got Stardust from a fine quality champ bag on a level 30-something character.

You can get level 80 exotics from champ bags at any level. Got one running eotm at lvl 12 just the other day.

Note the part where I said “acts like all other non-champ bag exclusive exotics”. The champ bag exclusive exotics ONLY come from champ bags and can be received at any level, as they are on their own special loot thingy. Hence the distinction in my original post. Any other gear given in the champ bags will be based on the level of the character opening it; so a level 60-something or higher will have a chance of getting exotics from the rest of the bag, too.

Edit: There are also things like Final Rest, which are event-exclusive items and can also drop for low level characters.

An engineer’s turrets are probably the closet thing to a ritualist’s spirits. Mesmer also summons clones/phantasms/illusions, kind of similar to spirits. But, at the end of the day, neither are really anywhere close; however, that doesn’t mean they’re not good classes to try out.

I played a ritualist in GW1. None of the GW2 classes are close to the same as a ritualist, and the gameplay in GW2 is very different from in GW1. It’s honestly best to start a GW2 character without trying to base it off of what you liked/how you played in GW1.

Battle on The Breachmaker is one of my favorite pieces of music from any video game ever. And it’s honestly just one of many selections I love (from both GW1 and GW2).

If you’ve blocked them, they can’t message you from the account you blocked. They can log onto other accounts and message you that way.

I find it hard to believe that the Create button was activated when you had no slots open. When you have no slots open, you can’t even click on the Create button.

It’s heartbreaking to see just how many lives have been thrown off balance (or torn apart) by cancer. Love to everyone who has been or is going through it. It was the estimated number I came up with, I could have spent as much as 2100 gems worth, and got all 6 as far as I know, but this is how it ended up being for me.

They never re-sell forged only ones. You got the assassin by forging the second back from the gem store. You got Miya by buying Moto (with baubles) and forging him with the wig, dress, and tiara.

I hope you guys do know that crafting exp has been nerfed. A level 20 character that pops a crafting booster and then gets 2 crafts to 400 will have netted only 7 or 8 exp experience levels.

1 craft (1-400) gets you around 7 levels. So, 2 crafts would get you around 14-15 levels.

And a side note: If you use the lunar festival fireworks while crafting, you’ll get bonus exp during the crafting (since the buff from the fireworks applies to all non-item exp gains). I got almost 10 levels from 1-400 cooking last night.

Demonstratively from GW1, upright standing Charr are not shamen, even though shamen might stand upright. It’s like squares and rectangles: a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square.

I see about half and half there. Half standing upright, half hunched. But yeah, I agree that it’s not just the charr shamans who were standing upright. It was casters, in general, who stood upright.

There’s no need to give it to your 80 as any rewards given for Daily Log-Ins are applied to your account or can be deposited into your account bank or material storage.

When you post an item for sale, you pay a “tax”; 5% for when you post it, and then 10% when your item actually sells. So, you’ll be putting down 5% of the cost of your item when you post your item. That tax is not refunded if you remove your item from the list of Sellers, and if you repost it, 5% is taken out again.

You know, now that I think about it I noticed the same thing when I did that event the other day. I don’t remember it ever happening before that time, either. I honestly thought I was just lagging, but yeah, every so often I’d end up running right to him while I was trying to kite around him.

The aetherblade one has a random factor, as the cogs don’t always launch you in the direction in which they should – so to complete the whole thing without help, some luck is necessary. This is not true of any other jumping puzzle.

I’ve never had an issue where the cogs propel me anywhere but where I’m facing. That sucks if that’s a problem for others.

It took me a good while to get to where I am now with the Aether JP. My first time trying it took me three hours or so (spaced across a couple of days). I eventually made it and didn’t go back again until a few months later, by which time I’d gotten a newer (and a good bit better) computer with a better graphics card. That new graphics card seemed to make all the difference for me, as I was able to jump way more smoothly without any issues on my PC’s end. So, I practiced it every day or so. Now, I can do the whole JP in about 7 minutes (sometimes less, sometimes a bit more).

So yeah, practice does a lot of good, as does using your right mouse button to swivel the camera angle. Plus, having a decent computer helps a whole lot.

Exotics are scaled down, but it definitely DOES matter. An 80 in full zerker will easily kill faster then a 20 in masterworks. Scaleing does take place, but the stat layout and value of higher level items even after scaleing is a bit higher.

Yup, that. You’ll notice a huge difference wearing exotics compared to just wearing greens (or even rares).

I’ve been using wiki and wikia walkthroughs/tips when I needed them over the past few months as my husband and I have been playing through stuff. I was able to find sufficient tips from those.

I’m sending all the love and best wishes I can muster to your mom and your family. It’s great when different generations of a family find an activity they love to do together.

I would like to see less of a hunched over look, but I do want to point out that Pyre, the only charr hero you get to unlock, is hunched over, just not to quite the same amount as GW2 charr. At least a few of the charr npcs/mobs/bosses are also hunched over.

Yeah, charr just can’t be sexy for me. And while I do like having the female skin options for my charr (and my asura), I usually can’t help but imagine charr as my own kitty cats dressed in fancy outfits.

You’ll never be able to go into a lowbie zone and one-shot everything in sight; that’s not how this game works, and it won’t change. This is an attempt to keep level 80s from coming into a lowbie zone and making it impossible for low level characters to get event credit or get hits in on mobs.

That being said, I can go into Queensdale on any one of my level 80s (even the ones I never play and who don’t have the best gear), pull a group of 10 or so mobs together, and mow them down within a couple of seconds. As long as you’re geared properly (all gear within 10 levels of your character), you shouldn’t be seeing any issues with how hard you hit. This goes double if you’re a warrior.

It’s been temporarily disabled due to a bug a couple of weeks ago that allowed non-GW1 players to get an automatic GWAMM title (and access to HoM skin/item rewards, if HoM remained open to them). Thus, it’s closed until they can sort it all out.

Because pretty much all exotic equipment in the game is soulbound once you bind it (ie. by customizing it with an upgrade). That’s how it is. It’s unfortunate that you didn’t know about it ahead of time, but yeah. I don’t see it changing. Ascended gear remains account bound, even after you put in an upgrade (as do legendary weapons).

Which part in particular are you having trouble with? Have you already tried looking up the mission on the official Guild Wars wiki and the wikia page?

The bobblehead lab. was put in during July of last year. So, if they follow that same kind of pattern, look for something in the gem store this summer.

Yeah, people have been trolling by doing this more often lately. During FE they’ll jump down into it (not sure how they do it myself, as I’ve never tried) without the key and start the ogre, just to troll the bigger groups.

Yup, there were two Annihilator April Fool’s quests. One was going back to save Gwen’s mother (Terminator). The second one was going back to save Gwen (Terminator 2). You even jumped into the lava pit at the end of the second one (in golem form) to restore the time stream.

Hmm. I think I need to a do a no-speed-boosts race with someone. It has always seemed to me that if my weapons are out while I’m running (on any race) and I toggle them to sheathed, my speed picks up. It could be an illusion of animation, but that’s easy to test via a side-by-side run on a long level stretch. Hoelbrak has some good spots for that.

There’s no reason to test it, really. It’s simply an illusion of animation, and it’s especially that way for norn and charr. They “feel” like they move slower, by default.

I mean, here’s an example of something: If I’m on my human warrior and I use Signet of Rage, my weapons are immediately unsheathed as I’m casting it. So, I’m running with my weapons out, with my speed boost from casting the signet, and I’m going the full +33% speed. Same thing happens when you use Balanced Stance; full running speed (plus 33%) while your weapons are unsheathed.

There is such a toggle, Excludee. Bind weapon sheathe/unsheathe. With weapons drawn, you’ll run upright like the NPCs. You’ll also run slower, but then so do they (I’m pretty sure they all have weapons out when they run, too).

You won’t run slower unless you get put in combat.

Yeah, wvw has been working fine for me all morning. Both normal wvw and EOTM.

I have between 30 and 40 in normal situations (while mapping). Around 25-30 in congested areas. And 15 during most world bosses (closer to 5-10 during bosses like Maw, where there’s tons of snow effects).

If you destroy silk, you’re shooting yourself in the foot. Silk is a highly demanded item, and you can make some good gold from it. Refine it, and sell it. Or, if you have ascended crafting unlocked on a character, make bolts of damask to sell.

I was FURIOUS!!!! I was so upset that Arenanet would screw up my game like that. I’ve invested time and $ into this game and the April Fool’s joke had me seriously considering deleting the game. The peak gameplay time in the US is the late afternoon into the late evening/early morning. The event started at 30 minutes before reset last night and then ended 30 minutes before reset tonight. It does suck that you weren’t able to participate, but it’s not like they’re catering only to EU players here.
