I did map completion there yesterday, and I didn’t notice any problems. Make sure you’re not in an area that’s too high for your character. Also, make sure you’re not just standing there in the middle of a group of mobs, soaking up damage. Dodge, use blocks/invuls, and heal yourself.
People don’t do this path for one, and ONLY one reason:
Noob uncoordinated team can’t get the oozz part done. Period.
If they make oozz a slight bit easier (Make the time in gap after inserting one oozz 1 minute instead of 30 secs, less adds), people will do it for sure.People still struggle with the next boss fight since apparently having whoever has the buff lead the ooze to soak up oil is difficult.
This. One group I was in had one guy insisting on having one person getting the pheromone from the plant in the corner, even though we kept telling him that a random person will get the buff every so often. That was a “fun” run.

For items that aren’t skins, you have to right-click on them and “unlock” them for that achievement. There will be an option for it in the drop-down menu. Salvaging to unlock only works for items with skins.

My problem is that I have 430~ in artificing and 500 in tailoring yet when I try to make the vision crystal I cannot put Empyreal stars into the mystic forge, I can only put bloodstone brick into the forge.
Vision Crystals are made at the crafting station. And you can’t make one until your crafting professions are at 500; so, your artificer won’t be able to make one. Your tailor can make them, though (for chest pieces).
I think the most I could make myself pay for a skin (not a full weapon) is maybe 60g.
Kicking someone from party isn’t “blocking” them. And, as malediktus said above, even if you had actually blocked him, he’d still be able to see and join your LFG post.
It’s a consumable item that’s not cheap. Please, if you see players doing this, be respectful and do not interfere. If you’d like to join them ask and respect whatever answer you are given. You can always wait your turn or find another location. If you are wondering, yes there’s etiquette to follow in game just as you would in life. Think of it like a game at a park. You wouldn’t run onto a basketball court and try grabbing the ball during a game, would you? That’s pretty much the equivalent of what running into players already engaged in an activity in game.
I’d normally agree, but the place in question (if it’s the same one I encountered earlier while mapping Bloodtide Coast) is a renown heart. One of the ways to do the heart is kill the vermin (which include ambient crows and non-ambient rats). It’s honestly the fastest way to get the heart done, too. So, the farmers are killing SOME (not all; there are others that they don’t seem to head towards that you can still grab) of the needed objectives for the heart.
All that being said, when I was at that heart earlier, the group was pretty friendly and didn’t mind that some of us wanted to get the heart done; we finished up, and they went back about their maize balm farming business. So, yay for peace and harmony!
That’s not a bug. Shatterer is always flying in the sky of Blazeridge Steppes. That story quest takes place in Blazeridge Steppes. If you look up in Malchor’s Leap and Cursed Shore (maybe even Straits of Devastation, too), you’ll see dragons flying around up there, too.
You only need to do three of the dailies to get the 10 AP/completion reward. Any you do after the first three will still give you their individual rewards (the little chest), but you don’t get anything else. Also, you can see the full list of dailies by pressing H, going to Achievements, and clicking on Daily. You can even toggle the “watch” button so that a task stays on your UI until you’re done with it.

Compared to an engi or an ele, I’d say mesmer is pretty simple to play effectively.
I do not understand why some people want fishing so badly. It serves no real purpose. You can see pretty things and do peaceful, relaxing activities without fishing. There are plenty of things to craft/cook already. I mean, to each his own and all that, but I just personally don’t get it.
World completion may be tedious but at least it can be done.
Two of us have given you very easy and surefire ways to get those achievements done, without actually doing the fighting yourself. These are achievements doable without those other methods, too.

You can easily cheese the final achievements by having the instance owner just die during/right after the first portion of the fight (before the dragon goes underground). The dragon will continue to focus most of its attacks on the instance owner rather than the other player(s). So, yes, you’ll have more lights to create, but you’ll be getting hit far less. Similarly, you can do the same thing if you need the “don’t get hit by rocks” achievement; die before he goes underground, and let the other person finish the instance solo.

The Charr were kind of there first. The humans came along to Tyria with the Gods and kicked the Charr from their own lands, renaming the area they stole as Ascalon. And (yay retconned info) Khilbron destroyed Orr because he was a servant of Abaddon.
1. The price is fine.
2. There are PLENTY of people out there with commander tags (tons of people went out and got one right before the price increase). Most people with said tags only tag up for boss trains or guild missions.
3. The reason no one ever wants to tag up in EOTM is because everyone who was too scared to tag up will give the poor player who DID tag up all sorts of crap. If they only stick to karma/event farming, there will be the players whining at them for avoiding the other zergs. If they actually engage in combat with zergs, the other players will complain about how they’re missing out on karma.

Necro staff 4 also removes conditions from the caster, and deathly swarm (dagger offhand 4) does the same thing. And gathering plague (underwater death shroud four) pulls conditions from your allies to yourself. But yeah, consume conditions, deathly swarm, and staff 4 are all self-only condi removals/transfers.
Yes, those are items you get for buying the Heroic edition or the digital deluxe upgrade. And as was stated above, sometimes those are mistakenly sent out when accounts are reinstated after a ban.
But it could also be that you actually received that mail some time ago but never got it because your mail box was full up until today.

Yes, you can both do it together and get credit. However, there are some story steps that will change your order choice if you accept credit in the instance of someone who chose a different order than you. I’m not sure if Claw Island is one of those.

I finished my Kudzu a couple of days ago as well, and at first I wasn’t really impressed. However I would encourage you to go wander around in a high lvl area that isn’t filled with people and start killing stuff, when you crit you leave flowers on your enemies and when you shoot you can hear birds chirping.
Little things that are hard to pick up on when you’re in a group, plus I still think we have the coolest footprint effects.
Yup. All of those are things I love about the bow. The birds chirping, the (sometimes giant, if the boss is huge) flowers on the corpses, and the footfalls. Love them all.
No, not all give you an aura. Kudzu, Meteorologicus, and Flameseeker Prophecies (although the shield is so big that it’s almost like it gives you an aura while you’re using it) all don’t have an aura. There may be more. And Kudzu was my first legendary. I’m not disappointed with it at all.
Edit: And, honestly, kudzu is one of the cheaper (and, thus, easier) ones to make. It requires no lodestones, for example. And one of its gifts is a Gift of Wood, which is one of the cheapest/easiest to get.
I often go to the northeast portion of Blazeridge Steppes to farm kale and chili peppers (which drop from all herb nodes in all of Ascalon). You also find lots of iron nodes in that section.

Necromancers are definitely not bad in dungeons. People talk about not wanting necros in dungeons because they don’t provide much group support/buffs. But you can definitely hold your own, do good damage, and stay alive in a dungeon group. That being said, you probably will have a hard time finding groups for high level fractals, as those require some consistent group-wide support and survivability.
As Tribio said, you will have to switch up builds and armor/weapons to effectively play in each of the modes in the game. The meta right now in PvE is berserker gear, even for necros. Typically, that won’t work as well in wvw; so, having a back-up condition damage set and build would be good. And you’d need to work out what you like best for spvp.\
As for what class your brother should play, he should play whatever interests him.

A lesson can be learned from this thread. The idea is similar to what happened in World War 2. One group of people felt what they were doing was in the right, while the majority of the world was against them. In the end, US won. Pun intended.

It’s marketing. The YouTubers, blog writers, and such have an audience that the GW2 website may not have access to. So while they can and do put out info on their own site from themselves, they also allow the media special access to info and gameplay because said media then goes out and promotes the game. That’s just how it goes. The same applies to the film, music, and book industries; there will always be “special” people who will be given early access to things in order to help promote the product.
It’s not illegal, but you’d be a real jerk for saving it and not paying him back (or for not sending it back). Plus, he could report you for scamming.

Any chance that some of the more serious bugs that really annoy players and hurt the game could be looked into any time soon?
When someone spawns tons of those, it causes huge lag, even in non-laggy areas. Imagine if someone did that during a big world event or something. It wouldn’t be quite so amusing then.

It’s happening on every server probably because, by now, everyone has seen this thread and posts on reddit. Thus, everyone with access to the scepter and an engineer has the ability to go out and repeat this. Thus, toy golems everywhere.

I wouldn’t call that a bug. It affects the five players who enter into its range first. There’s no “creator” buff.

It is in the wardrobe once you unlock it. If you still have the actual item on any of your characters/in their inventories, you can still unlock it. Otherwise, you’re SOL.
