I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
I feel sorry for anyone without maxed bank/bag slots.
Don’t. We get by just fine!
So borderline pay to win.
lolno. You don’t need 8 bag slots on every character, or even on one character, to win anything. It’s “pay to hoard”.
They don’t really refund items or gold from miss clicks. I found this out the hard way.
They may not refund your gold/currency, but they’ll usually replace it with what you meant to buy (as long as it’s an even exchange).
I bought one extra bag slot for my main and another for my warrior. I haven’t bought any of my 10 other characters extra bag slots. So, yeah. I don’t have the same problem because I don’t make it a problem for myself.
You can put in a support ticket to try to get it reversed, since it was a missclick.
Surprisingly I didn’t find many of them to bad, but the worst one is by far the Silverwastes JP. By far the worst and hardest JP in the game, to make make it even worse almost all of the golden lost badges are located in there. The challenge was interesting enough, but never again. I can’t imagine how much gold I must have wasted porting back to a WP to try over.
That JP isn’t hard; it’s just really long. Now, some of those badges are horrible and the person who designed that one where you jump on the rope and then along the wall, back behind the waypoint, will be getting a box of coal for Christmas this year.
What xander and simon said. You’d have to have someone else join to keep the guild from disappearing when you delete all of your characters.
There’s only one jumping puzzle that’s part of map completion. It does suck if you actually get physically sick from it (and I can sympathize as closely confined ones, like Troll’s End, make me feel nauseated). But almost all of the vistas are quick and don’t operate as the jumping puzzles in the game do.
Edit: Two jumping puzzles. Forgot about the one Dante mentioned. So yeah. Vizier’s Tower and Breached Wall.

I’d be fine with auto-WP as long as it was free. As another poster mentioned, the issue is that, at this point, it costs coin to WP. I guarantee that’s why 90% of dead players just lay there.
I strongly disagree that this is the reason why most of those players don’t waypoint. I think it’s more that they just don’t want to take the time to run back. It’s also partially the fact that they’re trained by the game to think they’re going to miss out on their loot if the event ends before they’ve run back and gotten back in the fight. And then there’s that population of the game who still believes that waypointing risks you getting placed on another instance.
When it comes to PuGs, I’d generally avoid AC 2 and CM 2; those who know the paths do them quickly, but so many people don’t know it.
So, fast paths: AC 1 and 3, CM 3 (1 if you have time to spare), CoF 1 and 2, TA up and fwd (TA is situational, though, as some people just can’t handle the runs between fights), SE 1 and 3, CoE 2 and 3 (add 1 if you have time). Hotw 1 isn’t too bad length wise, but no one ever does it anymore. Arah can be good gold for the time spent if you get a good group.
As for world bosses, honestly so many take so much time that it’s not worth the minor amount of loot. The only one that is really, really worth it (in my opinion) is karka queen. It’s usually done quickly, and you get more champ bags for it than all the other bosses. If you do all the champs for its pre, the Caledon Forest jungle wurm can be lucrative and quick, as well.
If you can get screenshots, I would instead submit them to exploits@arena.net
In fact, one of my friend’s, who plays online and occasionally joins our group, works for Arenanet, and also had similar comments. That player refuses to do dungeons because, “They are just too hard, and it makes the game no fun.” I have to admit we tried a dungeon (level 40) and it was crazy kittene of the other players in my group said he was near map completion, but had been playing off and on for two years to get to this point. TWO YEARS? I became perplexed by many similar comments from other online characters.
Two things. One: that Anet employee must not be a frequent PvE player. Yes, there are definitely some difficult dungeon paths, but every single dungeon in the game has at least one path that is incredibly easy.
Two: I have no idea why or how it would take someone two years to do map completion unless they just don’t play all that often (or don’t play PvE all that often). I was done with map completion on my first character within six months, and that was without really even trying. I’ve obtained 100% map completion on five other characters since that time.
I know many people just want to complain, and do not want to pony up solutions. I however would like to suggest some ideas that have floated into my head, which would rekindle my love for your great game. First, once a character reached level 80, the character is made a few levels higher than the area he/she is actively engaged in. Basically, the level 80 character is given a 2 level bonus: If the leveling guidelines say the character needs to be leveled at 20, they get a bonus of 2 for a level 80 character. This would allow the completed characters to gain a small advantage when going for map completion.
Second, the character leveling rule could remain as the game is currently designed, but the weapons and armor would not be affected. This would again give the player a small advantage. Both of these options would allow level 80 characters to return to past areas for map for completion without the unending struggle that is created by your current leaving system.
This is already in place. In a majority of areas, you already are slightly above the minimum level designation for those areas. Plus, even if you’re downleveled to the “same” level as the mobs around you, you still have higher level gear and attributes (your power, precision, toughness, vitality, etc.) and will, thus, be more durable and stronger than said mobs. When I go to Queensdale on one of my level 80s, I’m killing mobs in 1-3 shots, with the exception of veterans and champions. That’s pretty much the norm for a level 80 character.
You do not have to give away the shop, but it would be nice not dying 5 times in Queendale after creating a level 80 character, and then having to spend 8 silver regenerating, just to go through one cave. To be honest, I want to go back and really explore the wonderful worlds you have created, but with the current system in place, I am constantly fighting for my life ever minute. It quickly losses it appeal.
I’m trying to not say this in a rude way, but this sounds like a simple “learn to play” issue. If you’re running through a massive group of mobs without dodging, healing, and even fighting as you go, you’re going to die. Obviously, sometimes things just get out of hand before you can realize it, but if it’s happening so often that you’re having to constantly waypoint then it might be time to rethink how you’re going about it.
Edit: Also, you didn’t say if you actually have gear for your level. To perform at your best (and stay alive more easily), you should have gear within 10 levels of you. Blues, greens, yellows, or oranges (exotics) would work fine. Also, you should make sure you actually have some traits set up.

You might not want to do it, but uninstalling is probably your best bet. If you disable your internet on your computer, you’ll be tempted to hook it back up. If you have someone lock it in a folder with a secret password, you could easily find a way to get it back. And it sounds like you don’t have strong enough will power to make yourself go to the library when it’s time to study or use a computer.
So, I’d say to uninstall. The fact that the game takes so long to download might even help deter you from trying to hop back on and black instead of going to study.
Nodes have a pre-set group of locations they can spawn in, and the nodes will change their locations any time a new instance is made. So, the instance you enter one day can very likely not be the same one you enter by the time you’re doing a daily gathering achievement.
Nope, I haven’t noticed any such thing.
Headgear is ONLY obtainable via completion of its corresponding LS chapter (which was released about a week before you started playing), too, so you had to have done that chapter to get those.
That’s what I mean though haha, I have the headgear unlocked in the vendor somehow, despite the fact it shouldn’t be according to the wiki :P
And I’m too impatient to wait until a bundle haha
I’m saying you obviously did that living story chapter, which is why it’s unlocked at the vendor for you. I’m not sure how the other two worked since they’re also on loot tables to drop from other areas of the game, but the headgear should be/is tied to the LS.
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
I’ve never bought one. I wish they’d stop giving them to me. I have almost an entire row of a bank tab filled with them, and that’s after I started deleting killstreak, strength, and rejuvenation boosters as I got them. And the dust you get from chests on occasion doesn’t help because it just creates another booster set to sit in a slot. Silly boosters.
No problem! I’ve spent way too much time staring at the Wardrobe to try to make my characters look fancy and awesome, so I use it quite often.
No, there is no way to get the leggings box without doing the LS chapter, and you can only get the other two boxes of leggings from the vendor once you’ve done that chapter.
Headgear is ONLY obtainable via completion of its corresponding LS chapter (which was released about a week before you started playing), too, so you had to have done that chapter to get those. The gloves can drop from lost bandit chests and greater nightmare pod chest in the labyrinth. The shoulders are also a rare drop from killing the five champions during the Breach in Silverwastes.
Movement cancels the attack. Odds are you’re moving as you’re starting it. Spamming it could also interrupt it if you’re accidentally hitting other keys instead of 2.
Channeled skills (such as ranger longbow 2) will continue to hit as long as they’re started before the target goes into stealth. It’s not a bug.
I can’t say I’ve ever had a case where I’m holding down W+A (or D) while casting, so I’ve never had this happen to me. I guess try a support ticket.
The only thing I can suggest is attempting to guest. Unrep any guilds you’re in, and then log out to character select to choose a new world.
I just realized that romantic needn’t mean serene and lovely. Depends on who you’re with! Before I joined my WoW Horde guild, they had an Orcish wedding in Thunder Bluff (for non WoWers, that’s a Native American style city atop tall mesas, generally a peaceful and sunny place). As the ceremony/rite proceeded, the Alliance chose that moment to raid the city. My guildies wiped the floor with them — in RP clothes. And the bride and groom declared it the most awesome Orc wedding ever, they got a bloody battle for it!
So maybe you’re a pair of Norns and you want to leave a trail of Svanir bodies through Frostgorge. That could be one way to do romance
Best wedding ever.
Oh oh! Coddler’s Cove! Very pretty place.
I like to imagine that she’s dead. I wanted to kill her every time I heard her voice. I’m sure someone else did the job for me.
I lol’d. Seriously lol’d.
Zerker would honestly be the most ideal for most meta builds in pve for all three of those classes. However, high level fractals can be different in that aspect depending on your own abilities to stay alive and handle the high damage in there. So, you may want to opt for something that gives you survivability as well as power. It’s kind of up to you. You could try looking up builds for fractals or wvw that you like, test them, and then see about what type of armor you want for it.

Why don’t you go in the game and look at the wardrobe (at any bank/crafting station)? You can see pretty much every skin in the game there, so you could mix and match until you find something close.
I personally find it sad, that they brought back the New Years Festival just now, when it could have been something, that they could have made already from the begin on 2012/13 with the Year of the Dragon, followed then by the Year of the Snake 2013/14 and now with the Year of the Horse14/15, which in fact comes before of the Ram… they skipped it whyever
I don’t think they skipped the year of the horse. Since this festival is operating as the New Year (rather than being on the day of the actual New Year next week), it’s marking the current year as the year of the sheep/ram.
This. there are quite a few characters running around with Canthan names. So saying Cantha doesnt exist is just being ignorant. I for one am a dog, nobody has celebrate the year of the dog in any game ive seen!
Try being year of the rat. No love for rats.
Edit: Although, 2008 was celebrated in GW1 for the rat. And your year comes up in 2018!
Oh, speaking of saunas, you could go to the Hot Springs in Wayfarer Foothills. Have a romantic dip with the giant burly norn.
Orr, it’s definitely orr.
Orr you could you know, take her out to dinner in real life.
Orr they could play the game they both enjoy playing, especially since she kind of suggested it. Plus, as OP says, it’s pretty cold and gross where they are right now. Staying in, playing some video games, and maybe cooking together (or ordering pizza) sounds like a much more fun Valentine’s evening than fighting the crowds that will inevitably be at every restaurant in town.
Not every girl needs to be taken out to dinner to be happy on Valentine’s Day.
Romancing Seraphette: Do you hear howling?
Romancing Bandito: Ahhh, must be Saturday. Now, tell me more about how dashingly handsome I am.
Dragon Bash = Revamped Dragon Festival, both of which occur/occurred in June. The Canthan New Year festival was separate. This festival didn’t “kill” anything; the fact that another dragon was reawoken in the months following Dragon Bash killed Dragon Bash (for now). Seriously. Give it a rest.
Oddly enough this has actually been a very informative post. I’d never come across the star crossed Bandito and Seraphette before.
Their love is eternal!
The Lunar New Year references the Canthan New Year, which was based on (and originally ran on or immediately after) Chinese New Year; Canthan New Year ended about a week ago in GW1. I don’t get the indignation about this being something based on China. And yes, the reason it’s around this year is very likely because of the fact that they released the game in China last year; thus, they were more easily able to put the festival in than if they’d tried to at this time last year.
So, yeah. Of course it’s in the game “because China”. The festival in the first game existed “because China”. The Canthan culture exists “because China” (and other Asian influences).
Which means in the better game you mention there was an asian themed continent where such a celebration made sense. And the festival took place only in Cantha.
In this game we have no connection to cantha, the continent isoleted itself so why should tyrians care?
So, in the better game this festival had its explanation in lore. in this game it’s a pure fan service for china (good for them) and second hand content for us.
As the other person above me said, there were also offshoots of the festival in Kamadan and Lion’s Arch (with some of the quests for the festival being in Kamadan). Yes, there is no direct interaction with the Cantha continent. But even though they got rid of the Canthan district in DR, there are still characters of Canthan descent. It’s not much of a stretch for the festival to happen.
So yeah, again, it’s obviously largely in the game this year because there’s GW2 China, and Chinese New Year is next week. And yes, we get it because they get it. Honestly, if China got a holiday festival that the US/EU players didn’t get, the US/EU players would cry foul.
Being punished? Come on now. But on your big boy underoos. I currently have 12 character slots. I’ve never once felt “punished” by anything in this game. All of my characters look fabulous and have pretty decent armor, runes, weapons, etc. You shouldn’t get extra rewards just for having more character slots, and the way the game works shouldn’t speed up just because you are on your 9th alt and want to make that 9th set of ascended gear faster. And if you feel like you get less out of your time when you make alts, then stop making alts. Stop buying character slots.
Milton is the karma heart vendor in Corunucopian Fields. He’s easy to find.
I don’t know what number you’re talking about on the upper left corner.
To get into the same map together, look and see if they’re actually currently in the zone you’re in (in this case, Frostgorge Sound). Send one of them a party invite. When they accept the invite, right click on their portrait on the party UI, and choose “Join in Frostgorge Sound”. That will pull you onto their instance of the map.

We Americans turn our noses up at your Boxing Day; Black Friday is obviously the superior massive shopping day.
Except of course Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Texas where Boxing Day is I believe a state holiday…..
And unlike black friday it’s origins have nothing to do with shopping – that came several centuries later.
Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Washington and West Virginia all have official public holidays on the day after Thanksgiving.
And of course Boxing Day’s origins are different, but it’s pretty much the same as Black Friday now.
Mai Trin, Marjory, Her sister and rest of the family we’ve never seen on screen.
Yeah…. lots and lots of canthan descendants to celebrate. L O L
You’re kidding, right? You are fully aware you can also make your character look like he or she’s legacy comes from Cantha?
Right?
I can make him look like canthan or elonian but at the end he always will be tyrian and tyrian only. Blame designers.
Krytan. But there are still remnants of the Ascalonian, Canthan, and Elonian cultures in DR (less so in the case of Cantha, obviously).
What a load of hooey you have there. Yes it is because the game launched last year in China that we now have a Chinese New Year celebration. It would not really have made sense to have it from the beginning and not have the game available in that region (like celebrating Boxing Day and not being available in Canada: odd).
Just a FYI: Boxing Day is a holiday in the United Kingdom and virtually all other former British colonies except the USA.
The same day is celebrated at St. Stephen’s Day in many other countries.
We Americans turn our noses up at your Boxing Day; Black Friday is obviously the superior massive shopping day.
You could always go sit with the Romancing Seraphette and Romancing Bandito in kittenattler Caverns. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/kittenattler_Caverns
My husband and I got eachother gem cards for Valentine’s Day so we could buy pretty things for our characters. Best Valentine’s Day ever.
No, it’s not an exclusive item only for China. If it were, people would have already known about it and made a huge fuss. It’s been in the mini wardrobe forever now, for some reason; I do hope it actually gets released soon.
Well, if you plan to make ascended to wear, your exotic gear won’t be useable anymore once you start using the ascended. So, there’d be nothing stopping you from breaking down your old exotic gear to get the runes back; just don’t put the runes in gear bought with karma or badges of honor.
How are you neglected? There are no horses in GW2 so no point in celebrating them.
There are no rams either.
China sevice, nothing more.
Actually, there ARE rams in GW2. A few types, too. But yeah, the presence of an animal in the game has nothing to do with the Chinese zodiac and all that.
