Nerf this burn trash for guards and eles, their application of it and the burn strength itself, and THEN you can nerf mesmers a tad.
Mesmer doesn’t have issues vs burn guards and what about the other classes burning? Isn’t mesmer standing out more than people walking in and out of fire fields and complaining?

Get away from the reveal ideas the only safe choice is seeing and being able to target stealth foes. This is not a need and won’t do anything vs mesmers don’t get too serious now.

i remember before the patch, warrior used to have a trait that gives like 20% damage increase on all attacks when HP fall under 25% but it was useless..
Not in WvW sure in conquest pre patch zerk war wasn’t that good and stat were still linked to trait lines but that trait was used for roaming.

Damage is ok on thief, its our defensive options that are shrinking. you have to give up basically all defenses just to be a threat on the field.
^This the defense doesn’t even seem worth it.

Who needs it when you can start every fight with Death Shroud? It syncs well with the rest of our skills and is in no way restrictive.

What about this….
Dhuumfire, whenever you apply chill, you burn foes. (2 stacks). DS 1 now applies 1 stack of burn and extends existing condition duration by 1 second.
OP. I like it but the idea is OP. The amount of chill spamming coming with Reaper would be insanely powerful
It gets tiresome of realizing a suggestion might be OP on Reaper. No patch in sight is not positive either.

Have all of you warriors have eny idea how classy mesm is? 1 full hundred blades downs us you will never land it but still arcing slice gets be on 50 % of health and if ur good warrior you can take mesmer 1 vs 1 only class hardcountered by mesmers is necro so buff necro.
This made me laugh. I’m waiting for a possible patch I’m staying low for the moment.

Don’t mention guard they only have burn as damaging condition.
So does ele… (if an ele stacks burns they can’t bleed you and if they try to bleed you, lol, ele bleeds are extremely underpowered and you can’t stack burning while you try to bleed).
Nerfing burning is okay, but if you nerf ele they’ll go back to being a joke of a class again like they were for 1 year before celestial amulet was updated.
Even after this whole huge balance and feature patch, ele STILL only has a single build, the same build they’ve been using since the game was released.
Eles will always be either borderline op or a free kill depending on balancing as long as Arenanet refuses to finally rework ele defenses (they have and need all that sustain because they have no block, no stealth, no evade spam, all they have is boons as defense).
Yeah skip the part where I said “rather what they get to bring while having it”. In short condition ele is not the problem cele is they break the condition damage efficiency threshold easily while bringing too much. I understand cele should be best on ele but limits have to be made. Change Diamond Skin in the process just make it 4 sec of resistance after entering and exiting earth.

There is no issue with burning it’s ele or rather what they get to bring while still having it look at the other classes burning. Don’t mention guard they only have burn as damaging condition.

hi guys
i tested your build. It s very funny to play and hard to kill.. 3v1 and you can earn some precious time in pvp..
but i have a couple of questions too:
1) someone has argued about change curses with spite.. less survability, more damage. don t u like it??
2) why dagger and not scepter??
Scepter is weak link,dagger/WH is the best necro set and staff being the second best. The whole point of cele necro is to avoid what makes other specs weak like AI,low LF gain,no cleave etc. To me curses is a must my cele necro uses Spite,Curses and Blood Magic I haven’t found Soul Reaping that attractive.

Play cele ele you’ll barely notice the difference and the short answer is no. With necro I quickly switch to cele over condi it doesn’t have all those weak points points lack of cleave,poor AA,low LF gain etc. I found bunker guards more suitable than burn ones as allies.
It’s pretty ironic since some believe there is a condition meta and the devs believe they improved condition specs in PvP.

If you think necro has no mobility you’re playing it wrong. They have 3 skills available to boost run speed plus traits. Use them.
Run speed =/= mobility necro just has little mobility.

Lol yeah this is funny. And yeah like that one guy said air is the poop traitline for cele ele, and if he actually did his research he’d know that fire and earth are much better.
Also when it comes down to class balance, I beleive that there are great builds on all classes. Strategy and rotations (from point to point, not skill rotations) and individual skill and teamfight strategy competence play a much bigger role in determining the outcome of a match than than the builds or classes themselves. Which is why I’m so sick of everyone spouting that necros are garbage tier when they’re very good in the hands of someone who knows the game and his class well.
I love to fight a well played necro. Especially one that has proper DS and utility managent.
But I’m honestly tired of seeing all the nerf this and that because I can’t beat it in a 1v1. Check the profession subforums and there’s enough discussion about how to deal with certain skill like PU on Mesmer that these threads are pointless and will lead to unnecessary nerfs. (We all know necro and Mesmer doesn’t need nerfs)If any class need ‘nerf’, it’s Mesmer actualy.
Mesmer only really needs a slight shave if anything. Right now I feel like its really well balanced, but a slightly higher and per target ICD to confounding suggestions would solve most of the percieved OPness.
Mesmer has too much of everything, while having it in one build, e.g.:
-> Superior burst;
-> Amazing CC (Mantra, Moa);
-> Stealth;
-> Teleports and Portal (which we could count as ‘turning the tables’ often);
-> Invul (Distortion);
-> Spammable Blinds;
-> Boon removal…We can say nearly the same about thieves

It’s too different from the rest of the game just like the facetanking of necro or the superbly telegraphed war burst skills or the permanent AI stuck with ranger. No worries band-aids are coming for the sake of HoT!! It may be ideal but an docile alien in hostile territory won’t last long.
All those comparisons of necro being godlike vs them are too much laughter for me to handle. Let the favoritism of feedback start.

Starting at 50 energy on engagement sucks though, because it means certain skills are locked off for the start of the encounter

As i excepted, revenant turned out to be a freekill. Theres no way to win any 1v1 even vs a fresh player, and in teamfights they melt in literally 2 seconds due to lack of tools to actually help them survive – rev is like a pve mob, just focus and down. Necros looks like a gods in comprasion.
The negative comparisons to necro are killing me lol but seriously it may fail now but they won’t let it stay like that. It will definitely take them way less time then it did for necro, HoT is on their mind.

Sure, let’s start:
1) Revenant has no way to negate being focused. Even with the current support trait lines, you die instantly to focus fire.
2) Everything is super slow and has a big wind-up. Getting a skill off without being interrupted is a miracle. You’re currently forced into builds with stability since you won’t even be able to heal yourself without it.
3) Damage and condi application are way too low. The only way to defeat someone is to put their condis back on them — something that’s very unreliable due to the short range.
4) There’s no synergy between trait lines. With every other class, you can pick any 3 trait lines and they will have synergy. Revenant needs a big rework to create synergy and actual builds.
5) Revenant mobility is also non-existent. Keeping someone in a fight, or running from a fight is just not going to happen. Revenant needs a CC/snare, pull, or more reliable teleport. The only way to follow someone is axe #4 which misses too often.
You’ve basically just described Necro..

It’s kind of hard to test the revenant when mesmers are 1-shotting everyone at your spawn. Basically we are testing a class in a completely unbalanced environment.

I would use pure zerk with wells Spite/Soul Reaping with either Death or Blood Magic but that’s just me you don’t have to follow meta to be useful but conditions in zergs are not welcomed.

Don’t use condi specs in zergs, you need Unyielding Blast,Dhuumfire sucks. Necro is way more useful in group battles with wells. I’m not sure why are trying to use corruptions for. From my point of view it’s a negative maybe someone else can provide some positives.

Conditions are slowly applied by the scepter because we do not do sustained condi dps, we do burst dps, with DS, terror or SoS.

Yeah I’m tired of hearing that our condition damage relies on SoS it would sound more convincing if the CD wasn’t so long and Dhuumfire was actually hot.

Just out of curiosity, are there any classes that aren’t just food for Mesmers at the moment?
Personally, I just seem to melt when they hit me. I basically am allowed to use my stun-breaks, dodges, and to swing blindly at them for those few moments when they are actually not stealthed. When I DO hit them (which is rare), they just block the hits. Most of my fights end up being very one sided and I usually just die to them while simply trying to get even a couple of hits in. I have resorted to trying to run away from them, but there is simply no outrunning that laser-beam they have on Greatsword 1. Hell that thing even tracks you THROUGH walls. Plus, my class is not the best at running away.
So, I have begun to watch some videos and matches to see if there were any classes that could actually hold their own against the new and improved Raid Boss Mesmer.
Elementalists appear to be able to hold their own. But since they are the other Raid Boss in the game that makes sense to me.
I have also seen one Thief and one Necromancer be able to take them down but just once and all the other matches they also just melted away.
Warriors and Engineers appear to do OK provided they have Rampage activated.
Does that about cover it?

Guys, condition damage should be higher than power, because:
-> Skills that apply condition damage can be blinded, evaded, dodged etc. same way as power.
-> They deal damage over time, so it’s are already inferior in terms of spiking/bursting focused target (= already worse in group fights)
-> They deal damage over time, so it’s easier to deal outsustain it (= already worse in group fights).
-> They deal damage over time AND can be cleansed, which means entire damage or part of it can be negated especially due AoE cleanses (= already worse in group fights).
The only burn that I found wrongly strong is on cele ele or it may the burn plus everything else it can bring. Other conditions are weak and inferior confusion can be an exception but power mesmer>condi mesmer for obvious reasons. Even on necro it’s better to go cele those saying there is a condition meta are in another world.
I would still heavily recommend to lower based condition damage,increase scaling and bring the efficiency threshold higher.
