Give it another try before going back to guard or this thread will lack backbone. I’m content with thief but I’m not yet done with necro I’ll give a try to the devs “changes”.

There are signs of ignorance here but as a thief and a necro I see it as now you give up significant damage for IP after it doesn’t really matter as for necro all necros start at 0 LF so where is that 40k HP? It’s obviously easier for thief to heal and easier to stop necro from healing and the numbers are not decent so where is that fine siphon? IP is not impressive because right now it’s main purpose is PvE sometimes but it’s definitely affordable now.

Your point is valid, and in the stream (well, at least what we could see) they specifically said they would be watching these points closely for balance. So yeah, your concern is unneeded. Balances will happen as a case by case basis, maybe Linch will get a buff maybe Rampage will get a nerf, we and the dev’s don’t know what the changes need to be until the patch actually goes live.
Yeah I trust them but not with necro.

um well i dont use warhorns so…not sure if it is a buff or a nerf…
It’s a nerf for me I will lose siphon on crit just to trait for it just like nerf to Barbed Precision it synced well but not anymore. The more I think of the changes the worst it becomes.

Question: Are we certain the additional conditions we see mentioned on each corruption skill aren’t simply the ones we get if we get the trait to reduce their cooldown?
Other than vuln on CC yes the trait adds additional self conditions but CC seems to be balanced around it. I was planning on using MoC but now nah I don’t see the worthy reward,

Theme,graphics,looks,single target boon hate and facetanking. I already stopped playing condition necromancer I’ll give it another try just for the patch you should as well but I am more inclined on getting back to thief and guard. 3 more years to go

Also does the consume conditions change mean we wont be able to use it to cleanse conditions and get out of combat anymore? This sucks major kittens.
Ofcourse we can’t. We are designed to be at the combat! This is a trick to get to downstate faster.
But they are nerfing downstate damage :/

imagine pairing up shroud 4’s teleport of downed allies to you with signet of undeath aoe ress 3 of them.
That’s a perfect scenario case. You would actually slot that skill O.o?
It also generates Life Force in Combat, so it could be worse.
That’s another perfect scenario case necro is already number one target because there is no reason not too I guess slapping a tank amulet on you can help.

For condition necros you can take master of corruption and get the CD down to 20s, 5s SHORTER than it is now.
I was planning on getting that trait before not anymore I don’t see worthy reward. I thought they would have adjusted CPC to make it like a condition version of WoS and change the weakness but nope so I won’t really use that.

The cast time on CC was enough counterplay, those extra conditions self are not going to help much we have limited transfer and foes condition on us too. I just don’t see the reward playing with self conditions and there is no way I’m choosing MoC anymore It’s also mostly single target or hard to transfer in AoE so what’s the point AoE cleansing and boon are still on rampage our boon hate only got improved for solo encounters. With an ICD there is no way I see myself slotting SoV other than PvE,no kitten way I’m using WoB I shouldn’t even think BF it doesn’t even heal in DS.

I’m not proud of the boon hate being kitten single target while AoE boon and cleansing are still on rampage, Curses is mess now I’m surprised they didn’t chose my ideas on it’s traits. Lack of weapon changes especially scepter/axe was a let down as well just like no core improvements.

I wouldn’t say we have as much reason to be universally joyful. Despite the fact that I am happy they listened to us in many cases, and I think these are overall positive changes for us, they aren’t perfect. I would much rather we constructively go over how we feel about the changes (though I don’t think wetting the blanket and whining is appropriate either) than get on our knees before ANet as though they have bestowed us with perfect changes.
I partially agree but if you really look at the other professions like elementalist, engineer, and mesmer the changes just dont seem to be as balanced. Its like they gave those classes a race car and they upgraded us from horse-n-buggy to ford truck
They will find something to complain about, it always happen that will also take priority over those we make. About your metaphor necro is the slowest in everything except boon hate on top of my head.

This will be one of the best changes on the class balance.
But it is not an even nerf across all professions. Some have more access to it, and some rely on it more.
And as it happens, the classes that rely the most on it, namely Thief/Engi/Ele are all at the top of the food chain and can take a nerf to their survivability without it hurting them overly much.
That’s not how it works except for somewhat thief, nerfing might didn’t reduce cele specs efficiency :/ if you see what I mean.

The issue that was in Curses GM is now in master.I was actually planning on taking MoC and CPC buy not anymore. I might stop playing condition necro or take a break to theorycraft(imo) I stopped already but I don’t see the team potential, no Parasitic Contagion healing in DS is a pass on that trait as usual. I would call “usual” miscommunication and again 3 more years to go

3 more years of being terrible! Going to be fun. This time we will be even worse though! hehe. Thieves and warriors do deserve another 3 more years of being able to play the game in whatever way they want though. Necro was OP in beta. Better make sure its never OP again.
I keep forgetting who but he made a strangely similar resemblance with GW2 necro and GW1 mesmer I believe about the devs taking 6 years to actually improve the class. 3 years have passed already and obviously they failed to deliver today so 3 more years to go

I also noticed that Trappers Respite was changed. So that awesome Withdraw + Trapper rune combo will never be possible, RIP. So much for trap Thief lol.

I have heavy mixed feelings on this, so DS is still restrictive with utilities,LF at start is still same,rework to signets eh,SoV still has ICD,the self condition focus of corruptions might end up firing back,no much team sustain like per target ICD,nothing impressive boon hate wise etc.
There is some good stuff and definitely bad ones but it’s not as bad as now but I’m confused does Parasitic Contagion finally works in DS?

Funny, the thief received no buffs but nerfs in several past months. Back then there was match making topics every day complaining that thieves are dead weight and predict to be lost game if you had those squishies in your team.
Now player created meta has moved on and suddenly thief is considered strong again. Cure for meta issues is not change of code but evolve with meta.
It’s just the unique design of thief that’s good possibly the best I wish every class had initiative and a certain freedom in weapon skills, they can’t really make us dead weight without literally breaking us, the learning curve and the skill cap also play in this, terrible when new great when mastered every class should be like that so it becomes easier to balance. The other classes are lacking.

The Necro and Ranger just need complete re designs from how their mechanics work, their traits, weapon skills, and utilities to be viable imo. Unless Anet feels like nerfing 6 other professions.
Anyone who mains the classes sees what’s its like when you can’t drop focus or peel out, support your team, have mechanics that hinder the class in serveral ways, has no port capabilities to make them a wanted roamer/skirmisher, get countered by all the other zerker classes, it’s just a litany of problems.
It’s no coincidence they’re not in any viable teams besides Abjured running Nos (great player don’t get me wrong), who have no competition in NA to show why necro is a liability until they face EU teams.
I don’t venture to the ranger forums much but I know necro forums have pointed out the obvious flaws for years, and it’s just frustrating the lack of response from anet. Like we’re just now about to get to needed trait reworks. Well great, but other classes who had more proper traits and set ups are getting even better as well. They still haven’t touched the core designs such as mechanics or weapons, or have shown any signs in bringing down the amount amount of mobility/invulns/blocks/support of the other classes for them to compete at an equal level.
Saving a “3 more years to go
” after today’s stream just in case, my realistic side is taking over it’s spreading to the rest of the necro community as well. My optimistic side would like to think the devs were just prolonging a bad joke.
Before the buffs:
- 25% Terror Dmg Reduction
- 1/4s Cast time to Death Shroud
- 3/4s Cast time for Doom
- 0.5s Activation period for marks.

Problem with warrior is that he lack active defense which he will never get due to high hp pool. High hp pool is like a curse. For that reason zerk war wont be viable ever.
It could/will be(conquest wise) it will just buff shoutbow in the process unless some curve happens somewhere, don’t forget conquest favor bunker specs.

Your build is a modification of the panic strike conquest meta. Your steal becomes weaker but your survivability becomes better. A matter of preference…
It’s a good build for solo roaming where you dont need party support like boon sharing or stomp interrupts with steal. Plus you deal more damage like with the WvW 06620 Meta.
After the core specialisation update 60606 will be a great build for roaming and you currently play a build wich comes pretty close to that.

It would be a pretty big change for them to do. You’re basically asking them to completely re-do every movement skill that is affected by these things, which is a lot to do. I think its better for the game’s overall balance if they make this change and then follow up with better balance afterwards, such as giving Necromancers more/reliable/better pulls.
haha, this is the kind of dreaming that leads to people quitting the game. this is Anet we are talking about here people, the same devs who talk about condis not being affected by vulnerability as not being fair (yet we told them about it during beta), the same people who said that the condition cap is unfair all of a sudden (like it hasn’t been an issue since beta), i could go on but you get the point. it will be 3 years minimum before any fixes to the changes they are going to make now will be addressed, unless ofc there is a huge outcry from the players or bad press about the change because Anet don’t develop systems with any foresight.

Lets wait a bit first yes. And the changes you suggest are pretty much offensive. Necro’s need defensive improvements.
Nah they dont imo. Good necros can survive well with wurm and spectral walk.
Except vs thieves. But nobody can survive thieves so thats another issue.
Necro needs more condition spike. It does not need defensive buffs.
Defensive buffs have been asked since release or beta I believe, last offensive buff we got ended with downstate damage nerf after dhuumfire nerf and they keep going in circles with balance sometimes removing core features and adding them as traits barely useful. We need utility and less restrictions, I only want defensive buffs because I don’t understand how they balance DS and our major weakness when we are at 0 LF.

Most thief nerf have been based on solo encounters,weaponless duels,hardcounter duels,trolling duels,unfair duels,faceroll duels,cheese duels,duel request for the sake of balance. Learning curve on thief is appropriate if all classes were like that it would be easier to balance sigil/rune wise that especially should happen before class balance. It’s all about freedom and choices the saddest thing in GW2 is that thief is the only one with initiative.
