It takes forever to kill a turret engi as a mesmer and we have to do it way off the pt . So sure I can kill a turret engi after like 1000 yrs, in the mean time you just earned 100+ pts for your team and I have done jack all for mine. And if you call help at all I have to run off …

This is exactly why people have a problem with engineers, at least turret ones.

And how is this any different than a bunk warrior or guardian? Just because people can or can’t kill them in 1v1 doesn’t mean the class needs a buff or nerf.

People want to nerf them for being an easy class.
People want them buffed because Tournaments are very hard to win with them; you can easily outplay and counter Turret Engis.

They’re not OP and they don’t need a buff. Pretty sure original poster posted this thread out of satire.

[WvW] - How do people like to roam?

This is a silly question but to be honest.. I don’t WvW at all. On occasion I’ll roam with my burn build soloing camps until a mob of 5 players come to kill me. After respawning a couple of times I tend to lose interest (from walking so much) and leave.

I’m curious what builds people use, if there’s any solo guards here, and where to go to get the best action if you’re soloing. I typically have trouble picking worlds; no clue which area to pick such as high enemy controlled or contested areas from all three worlds?

Ele and Engi are definitely tougher classes to beat than shoutbow. I can’t imagining shoutbow receiving a nerf any more than I can imagine Guardians getting a buff. They seem to be “in a good spot”.

Spirit/burn Guard – Go head to head with one and die. Are they killable? Yes.

Condi ranger/spirit ranger/power – Go head to head with one and die. Are they killable? Yes.

Condi Engi – Go head to head with one and die. Are they killable? Yes.

Turret Engis – Go head to head with one and die. Are they killable? Yes.

These classes have the following in common.
1. They have the build potential to kill multiple foes at once.
2. They’re all point-assaulters; defending home or roaming to far.
3. They’ve all gotten nerf threads.

Turret engi’s have many weaknesses. The issue is, alot of people attack them 1v1 when that’s their best area. It’s not that they do good aoe damage, because they all do. It’s the fact they’re easy to use, incredibly annoying, and very useful on point due to their CC abilities. Anyone can use it and do well. That’s why people are so annoyed. The players who can’t outsmart them are the ones who think they’re overpowered.

They are limited in the amateur tournament in order to promote build diversity. The tournament is made to promote creative play, preparing your team to potentially be contenders in ESL type tournaments.
I personally think class stacking, including turret engi’s, should be allowed. Because they are common in real world Tournament play.

My issue with those wings is, that they appear more like some garment than actual wings that the character can control. I wouldn’t want them to flap constantly like other wings do (since they are too big for that and it would look silly), but some idle-animations like stretching them a little bit (not too much) or just some more movement from time to time would be great and make them look more alive (yes I’m aware that there’s already some slight animation going on). But I guess you can’t give idle-animations to backpieces… either an animation plays constantly, or not at all.

They do move a hair, but I suppose the small animation could be more apparent just a little. Without it being “too much”.. because they’re big and all. I think everyone just wants to put their big wings to use in general, or show them off like a /stretch type command.

No, I don’t want two separate versions of skills. The Mechanics should change, but not the actual skills themselves. Example, Torment in PvE got a huge damage buff while Torment in pvp hasn’t changed.

The skills mechanics themselves should be changed while its sfx, animations, should remain. Nothing like having someone level to 80 then jump into pvp only to realize their class is completely different.

What shall we play for?

I can’t help you have (more) fun on a game, of which, you’re starting to question yourself. I’ll just list reasons as why I still have fun.

My Ambition In Game
I’m a duelists. I’ll proudly say that the majority of my 500 day playing time has been invested in Dueling Arenas. I enjoy the 1 on 1 competition more than most PvP players. I’d roam around finding 1v1 fights in WvW if 90% of my time wasn’t spent on walking the map… that’s so boring.

Tournaments
With the leaderboards broken as it is, i’ve been doing Rank Arenas less and less. I now participate in these tournaments weekly. Its high competitive nature is on a different level than Ranked Arenas. I’m just getting my feet wet in this area, I look forward to competing more. Especially in the 1v1 and 2v2 Tournaments!

What I would like
I would like a ladder season of some sort that actually measured individual play, like 1v1 or 2v2 type TDM. Anet thinks it would split the already low population server… what they don’t realize is that people are dueling on a daily in Custome Arenas. They will do less Custome Arenas and more 1v1, 2v2 Ranked arenas. Anet shouldn’t be afraid if this masks Conquest. If anything, more people would get in PvP.

Just because you add a new slide at the park, doesn’t mean people will ignore the swings.

Think in amateur tournies a “no class stacking” rule is reasonable, but shouldn’t just be restricted to turret engineers.

Every Tournament allows class stacking. Not sure why you would limit an “amateur” team by not having two classes when ESL and World Tournaments clearly allows it.

I don’t understand the usefulness of Kindled Zeal in comparison to Amplified Wrath. In what universe does a conversion of 13% Power into condition damage, trump +33% burn damage?? Non. It never does. Even if you add Power signet.

That trait is complete junk along with Radiant Retaliation. Which by the way, is also broken.

Conjure Weapons Revenant Synergy?

I always wanted conjure weapons to sync well for other classes. The weapons are only a skill “filler”. They’re not meant to be used 100%. He’ll pick up the weapon, use a skill or two, then drop it and continue on with his rotation like every other class.
I think the revanent will sync better with a Necro or trap ranger, than an ele with conjured weapons but that’s just my first impression.

As for a quick LB fix, why not just add a MMR column to the current pvp leaderboard and allow people to view a descended order of the top 1k MMR’s as well? MMR on the leaderboard will have a false decay but doesnt actually change your ingame MMR for matchmaking from not playing.
Seems this would keep all parties happy and people can see who the ‘top players’ are by there own judging standards.

That would cause an array of issues, mostly just dramatize the forums and tpvp in general. People will simply look at top MMR and consider that the new Leaderboards. The actual Rank Number on the left will be invisible to everyone.
You will get the top rank 50 people on the leaderboard complaining why they have low MMR. Next to that forum post, you’ll see another thread about very high MMR players being on the bottom of the leaderboard.

We know what the issue is, we don’t want to actually see it staring back at us

Geomancy been op does not make doom any less op. Doom and geomancy were balanced before april’s update.

Generosity/Purity only procs when you have a condition. Otherwise the sigil “sleeps” until there’s a condition on you, then it’ll try procing go on icd.
So more like 60% RNG depending on a number of scebarios.

Doom hurts self sustaining classes like Cele Ele more than it hurts Zerks or other dps classes. I’m not sure what argument you’re trying to make here, but you’re not fooling anyone.

d/d , rifle engi and shoutbow war have way more condis than just doom. So who said you are trasfering doom back? . I’m not sure what argument you’re trying to make here, but you’re not fooling anyone.

Doom is another condition with a very high uptime making even easier for celestial users to stack condis and so do more dmg.

Let me tell my anti-burn guard buddies that burn guards have a high burn uptime from just F1 because our immobilize/blinds/vulnerability gives awesome condition coverage.
No need to have Judge’s Intervention or Torch, yup, we have high uptime in burns already.
….They will have a field day with that kind of logic.

Are you also trying to say that poison won’t affect ether feast, healing from meditations, shelter, regen or withdraw?

Do you realize how much passive regen Cele Ele and cele Wars have? I’ll say it again, Doom hurts Celestial self-sustaining builds more than Doom hurting dps classes.

Oh you were going to remove my burning/bleeding? Too back you wasted condi clear in my poison.

Cleansing the most damaging condition in the game, followed by long duration bleeds that are stackable.. now I can actually use my utilities to cleanse poison, or should I save it for the Ele’s fire breath again?

Back to original argument. If you think Doom is That OP (it isn’t) use purity/generosity or other condi Cleansing skills/traits.

Doom sigil is the most overpowered sigil in the game right now, especially on an ele that should NOT have any access to poison, and having access to poison for that long of a duration/uptime is insane. Doom sigil should be discussed more in this thread.

Doom’s dodgeable/invuln/blindable, I think it’s not the most overpowered sigil in the game.

Explain how classes that shouldn’t have access to poison(a HUGE 33% healing debuff) having essentially FREE access to 6 seconds of poison every 9 seconds isn’t overpowered.

Also, if it’s not the most overpowered sigil, what is?

First of all, you’re complaining about a sigil that is most effective against passive healing (d/d eles). Active heals such as shelter or withdraw allow you to cleanse or wait for the poison to go before using your heal, minimising the effect of poison.

Second of all, fire and air sigils are far worse.

You’re not going to win that argument Shiyo. If you truly think the sigil is that OP, I’d advise you to use Generosity and Purity sigils to counter it.

To reiterate what Tao is saying, certain aspects of the game may seem “op” or “inbalanced” for a reason. It’s part of the game’s PvP design. See this video.

The QQmore.net video does a poor job of applying what Extra Credits taught. Namely, if one build or strategy is the best in all situations, and it’s still the best after players are given time to look for alternatives, then it’s probably overpowered and needs toned down. That’s what we’re seeing with cele d/d ele and cele rfile engi.

If we had a “perfect imbalance” situation, then you would see a variety of different builds and team compositions at the highest levels of play. You wouldn’t see one set of builds in practically every team.

The solution is nerf d/d weapon skills or traits or hoelbrak/sigilf of doom etc..

And staff ele, rifle engie and shoutbow weapon skills and traits. Why are you so focused on one celestial build when all of them are imbalanced? Celestial engi is the most often used build along with d/p thief and dps guardian.

Staff ele is fine. It acts more like a bunker/support than anything else. Most of its dmg can be avoided by people steping out of the red circle…

I am focusing in d/d ele because in the beggining of the topic we were discussing engi. And then pvp specialist asked a question about ele. When everyone was talking about engi I was talking about nerf IP, gear shield ,etc.. Also nerfs for heolbrak or doom would be universal and hit war/engi too.

Warrior got hit the most from the might nerf. They also go addrenaline nerf. A small tweak at healing shout trait reducing base healing and increasing the scaling with healing power would be enough.

Why nerf Hoelbrak runes and Doom sigil?
Both are fine and not overpowered.
Nerf them and another rune will be too OP.
Same with sigil.
Then what? Nerf them too?
Dead end, locked circle of endless nerfs.

Power nerf didn’t hit warrior much.
But Nerf on meless weapon damage did.
I’m surprised that Anet does nerf Warrior’s skill damage, while Guardian stays untouched. While it’s no rocket science that Guardian has much higher self sustain and burst than Warrior.

Your first argument makes no sense. By that logic nothing in the game should ever be nerfed or buffed because something else will become the new “op” skill.

I can answer this one.

How many threads have you seen that a player listed something as OP? Is it truly OP, or is there a way to overcome the problem?

I understamd this game is purposely imbalanced, it promotes creative rotational play, interesting team compositions, to beat said comp. The issue I have is, 1) There’s hardly any creative play, or team comp, to face this team . 2) I’m a strong believer in that win percentage makes the best team, not Team A counters Team B, so Team A is best in game.
Even if there was a counter comp for The Abjured, you need to be good enough to beat every other non Celestial team composition class. You may have a 90%+ win rate vs Abjured and a 60% win rate vs everyone else. While the Abjured has a 90%+ win rate across the board… against every single comp they come across.
Celestial Comps are destined to make the best Conquest Teams. That’s what i’m not ok with.

Celestial Amulet by itself is fine. The issue is there’s no big counter plays, or many build advantages, you could use to overcome a cele Engi, War, 2x Ele team.

Ok, I’ve watched todays EU ESL games and I can’t help to wonder why d/d eles where not the most often picked build if they are so overpowered. Instead, every game had 2 thieves and 2 engineers.

Streamed matches had:

16 x elementalists (8 x staff, 8 x d/d)
16 x engineers
14 x guardians (2 x AH)
5 x mesmers
4 x necromancers
0 x rangers
16 x thieves
9 x warriors

Doesn’t look abused as much as other builds like rifle engie, dps guardian or d/p thief.

That’s not abuse. That’s popularity.
I would never run two thieves in a Tournament match, but that’s just me.

You want FACTS, well as you’ve said the ele was considered “unviable” by the community before the April patch, the ele had still access to those traits now deemed OP, we had elemental attunement and shielding and condi clear was not that way worst compared to now,we had already soothing wave adept, it wasn’t that bad really even with the ICD on cleansing water GM…still ele was considered UP.

Thats a huge buff for Ele vs Condi. A lot of Ele’s said they would get facerolled by condis, where now it’s not as big a deal.

Soothing Wave (gain regen if crit)
would have proc’d Cleansing Water’s 5s icd
(cure condition when granting regen)
completely negating the trait, Elemental Attunement
(Water Attunement grants regeneration)
Which could also ruin any cantrip’s casted.
(gives regen). Or vice-versa.

The change of 5s icd from Cleansing Water to 0 was a huge buff for the Ele. The Celestial buff on top of it made D/D meta.

They’re not necessarily OP in 1v1 because they can be beaten. They’re not OP in 2v2 because I’ve seen some very close matchups. In TPvP where sustains, mobility, team cleanses; team synchronization governs a win, there isn’t a hard counter other than out rotating them. Of which Abjured will do better because they’re that good.
Cele takes the Build out of Build Wars 2.

Team player dies - enemies get rezzed - I die

The thing that I respect with the current mechanic is, a player can be rewarded by roaming and causing critical damage to an enemy; then roam again accross the map.

It was obviously a good play because 1) He helped his partner out across the map, but left quickly. 2) He did enough damage to you to be able to rez with 20% health an still win.
If he was on TS he would have said “Ok cleave him now”, at the exact moment you downed him.

Most often than not, it’s simply the luck of the draw for that player to be able to rez at that exact moment your partner got stomped out. But it was also how he played the map that allowed this to happen.

Zealot's Defense Should "Block"

Yea, the Sword kinda just “slices” the projectiles. The Guardian doesn’t hold the swords in crisscross to “block” anything. As much as I want more block with my blocks, I don’t see this skill having blocks.

i dont see why people would take a chance on a 10 min queue and chance not getting each other.

Doesn’t mean people aren’t abusing it…. besides when an entire team worth of players queues up solo, it cuts the time in half.

They still risk getting placed on opposite teams… i’d hardly call this an exploit especially if they’re the same class; the odds of getting placed on opposite teams increases.

Honestly, dueling will discover the weaknesses in your build while also teaching you more and more about how other classes operate. Knowing when to pick a fight and knowing when to disengage, is half of what TPVP is about. Rotations. If you know you can beat warriors effortlessly, and that warrior is at a certain location, that’s probably where you want to go.

The other half is teamwork; focus targeting, and overall team synchronization. Don’t be too greedy on trying to kill a single class at far if your team desperately needs an extra man in mid or home. Killing one person, doesn’t make up for an entire team wipe in mid or home.
You can get this kind of practice in unranked pvp, until you feel comfortable enough to do a game or two tpvp. You wont know until you get your feet wet

tl;dr
Try dueling more in custom arenas as well as unranked pvp. Through repetition, you’ll get to where you want to be

What would switching the placements of arcane resurrection (down to adept) and renewing stamina (up to master) do to the situation otherwise without changing the traits?

That would delete ele from pvp again, sadly. Not only will d/d become strictly worse than other bruiser builds without ANY vigor (a 100% nerf), but you are also deleting s/f ele (the only other semi-viable spec).

Also, to those asking for elemental attunement to be nerfed, it is honestly ridiculous. Yes EA is probably one of THE most OP traits in the game. However, EVERY SINGLE WEAPONS SKILL, TRAIT, AND UTILITY SKILL that is pvp viable is balanced with EVERY ele build having this trait in-mind. Nerfing elemental attunement doesn’t nerf d/d cele ele, it nerfs the elementalist class as a WHOLE (and only d/d is truly viable).

I personally think that some of jportell’s most recent suggestions (remove evade from burning speed, remove blast finisher from frozen burst, perhaps even remove more burning from drake’s breath) would be enough. Taking away frozen burst shaves an additional ~6 might from the best cele eles (180 power and condition damage).

I agree Mr. Beard. Lets not make a change that effect all Elementalist’s builds.
The removing Evade from Burning Speed makes for a nice counter. Not too sure about removing Frozen Bursts ice blast though. Then again, I run Searing Flames so (usually) Ele’s might stacking has never been an issue for me. Should every class have at least one easy access boon removal minor trait?
Mesmers, Necros and even Thieves have great boon removal skills. Everyone else should stay below that line, all the way down where Searing Flames is.

Maybe we should concentrate on how our own class traits could better perform against these high sustain, high boon, high mobility, moderate aoe damaging comps.

I’ll start first.
Have Searing flames hit multiple targets on proc (if burn hits 2 people at once) instead of only 1 target.

Suggest build for lead small guild raid

I will say from a tpvp perspective, Warriors don’t stack as well as guardians do. I’d recommend warriors to not stack builds. That said, the shout “For Great Justice” syncs incredibly well for dps Guardians, each warrior could utilize it. If you think you’ll have high team wide Fury from warriors alone, Guardians may not need to trait for Focused Mind.

Guardians could pretty much be any spec, even the same build, since they stack well with each other. If you all run Absolute Resolution, you each could trade Contemplation of Purity with retreat, or any other utility you find suiting.
You really only need one Guardian with Retreat and one warrior with warhorn #4 skill to have perma swiftness uptime.

If the Necro and Ele are staff/range aoe casters, two or three of your guardians may want to have Merciful Intervention to not only peel off quickly in battle, but do substantial team wide healing.
If a War or Ele is is chasing some one down, between Judge’s Intervention, Merciful Intervention and scepter #3, you’ll at least be able to ‘keep up’.

I know you didn’t ask for a whole team specilization… just wanted to throw some ideas around lol.

You don’t really need a bunker or shout guard since you all will have plenty of support and sustains. Your Stability on F3 will be a big game changer for Stomps.

For burn guardian,
The most: Medi Zerk guardians, tank warriors.

The least: Rangers, Zerk thieves.
I always feel it’s a 5v4 (or 5v3) when I see these glassy classes on the other team. Poor guys

Gosh, RNG must be unkind to you if you’re getting it everytime in unranked. Too bad for you, the majority likes the map. Including myself.
You could always get better and play Ranked arena instead. Of course with your luck, Courtyard will still appear on the list. Darn.

Do Not Nerf Turret Engi

Here’s my idea…
Asside from crate, make all turrets disappear after a certain ammount of time.
Turret long cd divided by 2 = how long they’re active on ground. Example: Rifle lasts 10s. Net lasts 15, etc
They can pick up their turrets instantly if they choose to. Once picked up, they can drop their turrets again after the turrets mini cd. The turret’s individual fire rate represents that turrets mini cd, adding +1 second.

Example
Engineer casts Rifle turret on point. Rifle turret fires 5 times before disappearing and going on its normal 20s cd.
Example continued
Engineer casts Rifle turret. Rifle turret instantly fires. Engineer picks it up. Waits 3s. Engineer casts Rifle turret. Turret instantly fires. Engineer picks it up.

Pros
Roaming around with turrets is ever more effortlessly, casting them and picking them up appropriately. Turrets will almost never die due to engi picking them up, if he chooses to; if turrets are low on health he can simply pick them up.

Cons
-Having to instantly pick up all turrets and wait for their cds will reduce Engineers overall dps and cc. If he wants max dps, he’ll have to leave turrets out longer, putting the turrets at risk of dissapearing or dying.
-Forces the Engineer to think about his turret placement more, maybe even forcing him to group in 1 area for convenience; even though, doing so will make his turrets vulnerable to aoe attacks. Even then, most will instantly pick up their turrets and lose dps.
-He has to keep track of each turret’s time so they don’t go on cd.

-We can counter-play the Engi by ccing him before he can pick up his turrets, if he chooses to leave them out
-His turrets will almost always be nearby instead of hard to reach areas.
-Turrets can no longer sit at home while the Engi is across the map. They will go on cd all too soon to be of any use.

It’s a nerf and buff at the same time…

Eh beaten twice. Rekt implies a certain aspect of not even being able to react and just panicking. Also MVP play of the first round, Triggerless stealing the Rock Dog to get the 3s stun stolen ability. Toker def didn’t expect that.

It’s not like bunker guard ( full support) is any better, not even on condi clears.

Bunk guard with soldier runes = 2/30+2/35+2/60 = 1 condi clear every 15 secs ( approx).

1 ele properly rotating its attunements will give 1 condi clear every 10 secs AND more healz.

50% prot uptime and might stacking.

Moreover it can be stacked, something u just can’t do with eles.

Basically EVERY SINGLE ELE ASPECT IS OP.

The only thing guard is worth for is SyG.

I rather not “dumb down” the PvP experience for players who don’t keybind their “Nearest Target” key in Settings, or manually clicking/tabbing through a horde of flesh golems.
There’s a few things in this game that should be prioritized, like passive procs, boon cleanses, AI wrongfully targeting others, etc. but I never thought the auto targeting mechanic itself was an issue.

This will affect PvP a lot, as in a full maxed FoV asuras will be barely seen, so animations will be even harder to read.

What do you think ?

I find animations difficult to read as is. Usually I just go off of knowing what weapons do what on other classes. But I agree it’ll be more difficult.

Yup I also look based on their attunements, buffs, etc on top of their weapon attack animation. Max FoV in pvp will do more good than harm for players wanting to better their peripheral vision.

Especially for people who have issues keeping a watchful eye on the enemy rotations, or some one ganking you from behind during a 1v1 or 2v2 battle. I’m all for this.

Resistance Boon belongs on Shield. And possibly other skills, but definitely Shield.

Resistance procs in 2s intervals while channeling shield
= 4s aoe Resistance Boon after shield is channeled.

I wouldn’t mind that buff. I imagine it being a trait addition… even then I would prefer “Shield skills offers Aegis” trait more than anything…

Funny, I thought about this just the other day when I saw a female character use Empower. I actually paused and thought, “Hmm… that’s cool”, then continued to thrash her.
I never had issues with my male Norn with staff… then again, I hardly ever use the staff weapon.

I’ll now forever think my Norn is pooping so thanks for the thought.

The discussion seems to be hitting on a big point here:

Bunkers are not used much anymore.

So here’s my questions now:

  1. Is this because Cele is too strong or because bunkers are too weak?
  2. If bunkers are too weak, should the support be buffed so that Cele Ele doesn’t creep on it?
  3. If cele is too strong, what part of it is too strong? Should the defense go down and the support remain just as strong? Should the defense stay the same and the support potential go down? Is it the damage?
    1. On this note, would it help if some of the support that eles have be other ally only? For example, Cleansing Wave only removing conditions from allies or the healing on certain skills being less effective on the ele, but more effective on allies? Please take this as a concept, not a specific suggestion.
  4. The DPS role is taken up by pure DPS players still. While you don’t see mesmer/thief/ranger/guardian/necro as a DPS role as often as Cele Engi, you still see it plenty. That said, we sort of scoff at bunker guardians currently.
    1. Is this because the pure DPSers have a niche or because they excel at DPS enough that they overtake the cele engi role? For example, mesmer has an AMAZING burst, but they also have portal (their niche). If mesmer didn’t have portal, would you still take it? What about thief without stealth or power ranger without entangle?
    2. Do bunker roles need this niche (Some special skill that cannot be matched by other builds) or an increase in their ability to support allies (more heals/condi clears/boons)?

1 & 2: It’s not that bunkers are weak or Cele is strong. Cele doesn’t need to “DPS” as much as they just need to win 1v1’s and/or concentrate on survival and bunk long enough for reinforcements. Which they can, and can do quite well.
The rest.
DPS roles are taken by the Ele, because no other DPS class (celestials or off celestials) can sustain as well while also doing constant, respectable aoe damage, team support, and finally, be mobile in “oh crap” situations. We’ve seen this with Wakkey at Beijing. You could say he was the reason why Foefire’s mid was contested for the longest time. His Vigor and peels were insane in Middle’s big node area.

Nope! Made and played Ele once, just to understand their traits and playing style. I’m bound to make mistakes.. so thanks for the correction :p

The devs have proved that they can’t balance the ele at this point, it’s either cold or it’s hot..so just delete it and everybody happy.

I personally don’t want to nerf Ele’s, just their team composition. In other words, I think their a balanced classs until you place them with a self sustaining comp like Engi, Warrior, and another Ele. They do everything so well, it’s hard to replace them.

I understamd this game is purposely imbalanced, it promotes creative rotational play, interesting team compositions, to beat said comp. The issue I have is, 1) There’s hardly any creative play, or team comp, to face this team . 2) I’m a strong believer in that win percentage makes the best team, not Team A counters Team B, so Team A is best in game.

Even if there was a counter comp for The Abjured, you need to be good enough to beat every other non Celestial team composition class. You may have a 90%+ win rate vs Abjured and a 60% win rate vs everyone else. While the Abjured has a 90%+ win rate across the board… against every single comp they come across.

Celestial Comps are destined to make the best Conquest Teams. That’s what i’m not ok with.

Over half of the players that played in WTS (64%) were using the celestial amulet, the second most used was berserkers, with other random amulets (Nos using Carrion) sprinkled in here and there.

My feelings on celestial are already pretty clear, it doesn’t allow classes to be jacks of all trades, it helps three specific classes turn into masters of all trades. If you think that a meta where 64% of the players are using the same amulet (and for the most part the same builds), leaving any other build to be useless is okay. Then go a head and tell me these classes with this amulet is okay. If not, don’t stop telling ANET what is wrong with this until they fix it.

Thanks for that info Jportell. It’s time the perfect trio gets an appropriate nerf. There’s a reason why a few teams utilize two Ele’s instead of one. Awesome support + damage while doing great 1v1, able to bunk + high mobility. Oh they all can do that? What’s the biggest differences?

Engi is ‘ok’ because he has very little condi cleanses.
Syncs well with Ele’s team cleanses.
Cele War is ‘ok’ because he has very little condi cleanses.
Syncs well with Ele’s team cleanses.
Two Ele’s completely repel the War and Engi’s counter builds.

Most of Ele’s Team cleanses are 240 radius. Two Ele’s mainly use Lightning Flash + Ride the Lightning for emergency rotations, cc, etc.

The Nerf
Cleansing Wave’s radius needs to be 180 instead of 240. Like how Guardians are having to use Flashing Blade + Torch to pull off its activated,180 radius burn ability, it’s time Ele’s receive the same treatment. Let them be forced to use Lightning Flash to pull off said combos.

Or
The team cleanse Regen on Cantrips needs to be a fixed 180 radius effect.
Or
Water Attunement itself needs to be 180.

Something has to give.

I don’t necessarily agree with Cleansing Water for the simple fact that they wouldn’t do as hawt in 1v1’s. I said to nerf it before, but I take it back.

if you really want to be good you should play all the classes a little bit, that way no matter what class you end up “maining” you will understand how to beat the other classes better.
