My drivers are up to date, just updated them and it still wont work. I havent changed anything about my computer. My pc is windows 7, nvidia geforce 610m 2GB, core I5.
The game has some trouble with Nvidia cards. Try going back to an older driver.
And what about your drivers and registry?

But an account that has already had an owner can not be “given” to someone else.
That you managed that once actually surprised me.
When you give someone an account (very nice of you btw), you send them the serial and they have to authenticate the account. At that point it’s no longer yours and it can’t be given to someone else. This is also shown in the user agreement you have to read when making your account.
This would mean that the new friend will be needing a full new account. It’s strict, yes. But this is the way it work these days.
Only option you could try is to put in a ticket asking for a refund on the copy you bought from Anet directly.
This is gonna sound harsh and I don’t mean it that way but no, that laptop will not be able to run GW2.
The videocard in that laptop is a standard onboard simple card that uses the ram. And you need at least 2048. On it’s own that card is not suitable for gaming at all.
The whole laptop is basically old.
You said your pc broke, do you know what is wrong with it? Cause the money for the laptop could be used in replacing the broken bits.
On a whole, laptops are not really made for gaming anyway and the ones that do have the name gaming laptop cost a lot of money.
The videocard in your system, Intel® GMA 3100, is not going to be able to run this game.
That probably has noting to do with your download program, but still.
Even if you get the download to complete, you won’t be able to play.

Well, I guess it is kind of a joke.
I can understand not wanting to delete your characters.
But that leaves you only one option (unless you buy a second account). That option is paying the 1800 gems for move.
It would also mean you would have to leave your guild.
It sucks, I know.

Well, you can’t guest from EU to America nor can you move only one character.
So you will have to move servers in order to play on an american server.
There is a free option to move, but that would mean deleting all your characters (save important stuff in the bank).
When you have deleted them you get the option to select a new server when you make a new character.
The topic tells you exactly what to do though. So actually it’s a good answer.

Only thing I can think of is that you might have put it in another characters inventory cause that’s the only thing you haven’t mentioned. Other then that, a ticket is the way to go

True or not, they give the reason.
Well, the forum uses the same password and you can still post here.
You could try using browser tools to find the password for the forum and then use it to log into the game.

I believe transmuting one of them is also an option.
As for a refund or a change, probably not but you could try submitting a ticket.
The items do come with a warning though, they are unique.
Depends on what you want from it.
Banana gives health every second, the other only a chance to steal life on critical.
Can you destroy it? Cause that would be the only option, you can;t use it on other toons anyway.
