What you could do is spend some money and dedicate some time to getting your crafting skills to 500.
Then create one set of ascended gear for each stat set you use. Ascended gear is all account bound, even after use so you would just need one spot for each particular armor type and stats (light zerk, medium, zerk, heavy zerk, etc).
Create/buy legendary weapons for your characters that are level 80. They have stat swapping, reducing the number of weapons you’d have to carry for each. You can transmute another skin onto them if you don’t like their skin.
What you could do is make Twilight and then sell it. Use the gold to buy Incinerator.
The build gave a warning for when it was available. Then it gives a your game will restart in one hour.
So your suggestion is already in the game…
Limiting it now was probably best for the latter category (the new players who may feel they’ll never be able to catch up to the old players) in the long run. When 3-4 years of LS achievements have come and gone.
Even with the new system, new players will never be able to catch up. There’s quite a number of achievement points tied to the older LS events, holidays, and one WvW season (soon to be two, once the second ends).
The only way to change that would be to cap everything. And then you’d have a number of players sitting at the top of the Leaderboard with the same amount of points, with the top spot arbitrarily decided by Anet.
(that’s of course for people that care about Leaderboard – those that don’t care, which is probably the huge majority, never needed any caps at all).
That’s how I think it currently stands. Everything now has a cap. The leader board will eventually be full of people with the same number of AP until they add new ones in.
The LS AP are capped by event, of course, but they are not capped in general. Which means that people that did LS season one, as long as they will continue to play, will always be that number of points ahead of anyone that would start playing today. It’s simply impossible to catch up.
But the hardcore achievement point hunters will have those done within a few days of the LS being added. Then they’d have 9 or so days to be tied for first.
The cap on Daily and Monthly just reduces how much the difference is between the hardcore achievement point hunters and the more casual ones.
You have to try really hard to avoid doing leveler, recycler, killer and daily events just by playing however you want (except RP, I guess ;P) and it seems we’re getting them almost every day now. That’s what I’m calling ‘dumbing down’.
That’s what the Daily is supposed to be though.
Something you do as you play how you want to play. It wasn’t meant to be something that you had to go out of your way to do.
It’s why they changed how Dailies were originally.
Originally there was only one set of Dailies and one set of Monthlies. And they were fixed. And you had to do them all. There were only 5 Dailies. There were only 4 Monthlies. And it covered all aspects of the game. Someone who did not want to do WvW wasn’t able to get the Monthly or Daily. And those who did not want to dungeons weren’t able to get the Monthly. If I recall correctly. Someone who did not wish to PvP couldn’t get the Monthly.
It catered to the player that dabbled in everything. Then they changed it to what we had before the most recent patch. And then they saw people doing every single option. Enough so (they probably have the ability to check this) that they had to do something to slow down how fast the hardcore achievement point hunters broke free from the casual crowd.
They likely went to far and we’ll likely see a shift towards more Daily options in a future patch if not sooner.

It will add to the pressure of doing the LS events every time for the small minority of those on the leader board who must remain on it and reach #1.
That and the leaders on the leader board shouldn’t be there because they do the Dailies and Monthlies every day and every month. There’s nothing hard about them. It would be different if the Dailies and Monthlies were actually difficult to do in a day. But they aren’t.
I really don’t think there was anything wrong with the dailies system as it stood before. I’d really like to go back to that amount of choice.
You are right there wasn’t a problem with the amount of choice. The only players negatively affected by having more daily options are the ones that can’t control themselves from having to do all of them. A very very small group of players.
If Anet is going to cater to players of that mindset they might as well reduce the number of minis available too to appease the mini collectors that can’t stop spending all their gold because they feel they have them all.
We don’t know how big the pool of players who couldn’t control themselves were.
You are right, we don’t know. However, I feel comfortable guessing they are a very small minority. Just looking at the leaderboards and the percentages of people in AP ranges kind of gives a decent idea. Only Anet knows for sure but really, is limiting everyone worth it in the long run?

However, they should have just left it at capping total AP earned from them and not reducing the options available. The limited it too much. Hopefully, they’ll course correct in a later patch.
Catching up to old players assumes people care about the leaderboards. Really, I think being able to get more achievement points toward achievement chests is more important for new players. I can’t validate that but it seems to make sense. With the new system new players get less achievement points per day and slower progress toward achievement chests.
Not necessarily in it to go for the leaderboard. Maybe they just want to catch up to their friend or get in the ballpark of a guildie.
Guild rosters, friends lists. Those list AP. In 3 or 4 years even a casual player could easily be over 10K.
And like I said, they should just leave it at a cap of AP that can be earned via Daily and Monthly (it’s like 10K achievement points for Daily and like 5K for Monthly, so it’s nothing too terribly low for new players). That way the older players can’t keep getting out ahead of the new players while new players still end up with the same amount of AP per day as the old system should they choose to do all of the options.

There was also the complaint that new players would never be able to catch up to old players due to the dailies & monthlies combined with several AP from living story metas that are no longer available. And who knows how big this pool was.
However, ANet probably has the means to see what percentage of the active player base completed all of the dailies available each day and what the average number done was. And what the more/least popular ones are.
They took that data and made some changes. Now, they might have gone too far in the changes, but that can always be changed in a future patch. They’ll likely wait for the initial storm to calm down and collect some data. So that their data is not due to player gut reaction but more of a thought out reaction.
Depends on what parts of PvE you mean.
General solo exploration, if it’s fun for you go for it.
Dungeons as long as you don’t want to do a speed run, you could probably get a group together.
Otherwise, you’re better off going with a build that’s more in line with the meta which is DPS DPS DPS.
Well unless you wish to play in WvW just guest to another server. Might be some issues with the maps that are megaservers.
After a week, you will be able to transfer. You can transfer for free of you have no characters.
I would update your ticket to ask that.
Hello. I would like to know if there’s any updates on my ticket, #537422: Authenticator added without consent.
The staff was super helpful and I can access my account again after being hacked, but I replied asking for a rollback as several of my items were gone, as well as gold, laurel, karma, etc. I replied to the e-mail since none said “Final Response”
Should I submit another ticket?
Thank you!
Definitely do not send another ticket unless you want it to take longer to resolve.
From what I’ve heard rollbacks take a fair amount of time to process. If you remember what the last time you logged in where everything was normal, update your ticket with that info if you haven’t already mentioned that in any of your replies. Helps them find a good snapshot for the rollback.
I got that same response, a usual auto response. Then they responded to me yesterday and told me to make a list of all the items I want refunded, and then told me that a refund is not guaranteed. Which is a lie, as Michael Henninger already stated that they will give us refunds for tonics and outfits and duplicates.
They are likely just keeping all bases covered as some people will likely try for refunds for things that aren’t on the list of things they’re refunding.
Please add the harvesting back in to be doable each daily. Please add enough sPvP and WvW so that you can complete in whichever area you want to play in that day.
Logic: so that the result is you play what you want for that day and are able to complete the daily while playing.
We should be completing our daily while playing the game, not having the completion of the daily as the point of playing.
I disagree. Especially if they leave the number of options at 10 total including the WvW and PvP ones.
There should not be any daily option that is set to happen each and every day. It should vary. Because there are already so few choices and not everyone likes to gather things.
Thanks God. No more brainless zombies playing this game just for the AP.
Thanks God, ANet.
What do you care how anyone plays the game? So what if they want to play the game for AP? If that what makes it fun for them, then great. They are playing the game how they want to play which is awesome.
People should play how they want. They certainly shouldn’t be subjected to your rude and strictly lopsided opinions.
The reason is ( for me, personally ) as follows:
We had a great guildmate. At first, when we all started playing the game, he was very helpful and engaged in all guild activities.
After a couple of months time, he became an AP zombie. Whenever he logged in the game, he would do ALL AP EVERY SINGLE DAY. He stopped helping newer guildmates, stopped participating in guild missions and any other guild-related activies. He started cursing new guildmates just because he “was busy doing something he had to do, which is all ap for today, otherwise someone else would surpass him.” ( his words ).Yes, I do care how other people play, so do our guildmates who want to have a healthy environment within the guild and game’s community.
Cheers
So let me get this straight. Because one guy who chased AP points made it bad for you personally and those in your guild, all AP chasers are brainless zombies? That is certainly what you were indicating in the way you stated what you said. And how do AP chasers derogatorily affect the game’s community? The answer is that they do not. As long as they are not in your guild, they don’t affect you at all.
There were numerous threads of the kind of our guild’s experience on this forums. Henceforth, it is more likely that it has nothing to do with a narrow community of my guild, but the game’s community as a whole.
Thanks for the discussion.
Cheers
I never indicated that others didn’t have a similar situation. But there are many in my guild who are AP chasers and they do not adversely affect us at all. They do their thing and join in when they want.
I know others who are not in my guild who go about their day chasing AP points and they don’t hurt a soul.
So how is it that any of those people I just referenced hurt you? What did they ever do to you to be called ‘brainless zombies’? How are they adversely affecting you or the community in any way? Blanket statements like that are uncalled for.
You seem to be missing the obvious: as the incidents that affect me are apparent in other groups of people, totally unrelated to me, it is rather logical to assume that the GW2 community may experience the issue as a whole. It has nothing to do with the fact that the experiences of the other groups of people do not affect me DIRECTLY.
Unsound arguments are unwanted here.
Cheers
But he said he’s got AP chasers in his guild that are not “brainless zombies” and are a positive aspect to the guild. At least that’s what I got from his post.
What he’s saying is what you said came off as a generalization. That every AP chaser is a brainless zombie that is bad for guilds. While you might not have meant to say that, that is how it came off.
He just pointed out that not every AP chaser is a “brainless zombie” and he pointed to his guild member as proof. Maybe he didn’t do it in the nicest way possible, but people tend to get defensive when friends are insulted.
I wish there were more options per game type, but still maintained some cap on AP (maybe still give the experience to further “encourage” players to venture into areas that they haven’t tried yet).
Swap elements, definitely. I can’t tell you in what order or anything since I don’t do pvp, though.
1) ticket was closed 2 weeks ago i didnt got any other solution then to get on forums with new account
Gaile still can’t help you unless you provide her with a ticket number.
Problem:
A group of four people gang up on a fifth because of things the person did wrong, they’re being jerks about it because they won’t kick him. The player gets fed up and leaves. He’s then prohibited from placing a new LFG because he left a toxic group?
Dungeon Running Group A wants to do CoE which requires a full party. But their usual 5th member says he’s going to be late. So they grab a PUG and explain the deal. When the 5th member gets on, he gets to join after the current boss is down (as to not cheat the PUG member out of a reward). PUG member agrees and when the 5th member gets on leaves the group. PUG member is then punished because of a prearranged agreement.
Neither instance is rage quitting, yet they’re punished.
There is nothing that ANet can do to prevent people from rage quitting.
@CelebrityX From moment megaservers went online it will alway be like this (as long as developers wont find solution for this issue). All waypoints that can be contested are always seen as contested if you are sitting on another map. Game simply dont know what map you will end up if you teleport. You can end up on map where one waypoint can be contested or on map copy where it’s not.
But what about on the SAME map? If you want to teleport from one WP on the map to another one – on the same map, why does it have to use this same system of contested waypoints? Why not simply make sure that you stay on the same world… after all, if I teleport within a map, I usually do NOT want to end up on a completely different world… and I assume most players feel the same.
It doesn’t all show up as contested once you are on the map.
Its a gold sink. Plain and simple.
But they could reduce the cost of waypointing as a “We understand that players may now have to waypoint twice to get to where they were going due to the megaservers and have reduced fees by X%.”
Either that or ramp up fees between maps, but have it be free to travel within the same map. Like it is for Lion’s Arch now.
Can’t answer most, but I can answer the question about the necromancer trait reset.
One of the previous patches did touch on traits in a major way. Any class with a major overhaul in traits (several traits moved tiers, etc) got their traits reset so that builds could be rearranged based on the changes without costing the player money. That and it was probably easier to code for that than if player has X skill in Y tier change it to Z skill.
They do typically rollback accounts to a date prior to any evidence of a hack. You may lose some progress as a result of there wasn’t a recent enough restore point for it, bit it’s better than losing most of your progress. At least that’s what I’ve read.
It does take some time to process so don’t expect a super quick response.
So you want ANet to send a message to hackers to not hack your account because it’s happened twice in two months?!
This will likely just increase the chances since it will tell hackers that your passwords are on the weak side or you have a keyllgger on your computer.
ANet can’t stop hackers from trying to gain access to accounts.
So it’s up to us players to keep our accounts secure.
Run a virus scan . Change your email password and then change your guild wars password.
And change any other password on any site if it was the same password as your email or your guild wars password. Especially if it is for anything sensitive like online banking.
While I will never understand roleplaying/roleplayers, I can see this as a problem. Maybe it might be best if you guys have a separated chat speak just for role players? That way they can filter out all of the world chat and only focus on what they want to see. Seems like a simple fix (I think…)~
That is a really good idea. However….. there are problems with adding features in for role players as RP has some rules that they themselves can not agree on and ArenaNet would be asked to enforce them.
EDIT: added additional stuff.
ANet could say:
We have added an additional chat channel called Role play. It can be accessed by typing /r in the chat or selecting it from the menu.
While we understand that role play does have its own rules, we are not your enforcers. Please do not report people for breaking the rules of the role play unless they are breaking the TOS at the same time.
Well, there seems to be 6 PvE Dailies today, plus one WvW one that you can get without actually doing any WvW, if you want to spend for it.
Skill Point Accumulator
Daily Kills
Recycler
Daily Events
Condition Remover
Daily Aquatic SlayerNot sure why some say they cant get their Daily by doing only PvE activities today.
That won’t be bad for me, though I’ll be sad at losing the ability to pick up a few ‘extra’ APs every day doing some of the extras I could do beyond the 5. There were usually 8-10 things to do each day.
Edit: Wait…how do you do a WvW one without WvW?
You can buy rank with Liquid World Experience.
Takes laurels and badges of honor. The latter of which is awarded via achievement point chests so unless you’re a new player, you should have enough.
they took away daily gatherer
And it might be there tomorrow.
Honestly, I felt that it being there every day was it working not as intended. But that’s just me.
Let’s see:
1. Skill Point Accumulator – Don’t need to be in WvW or PvP to get skill points.
2. Condition Remover – I can be in PvE and remove conditions
3. Daily Aquatic Slayer – I think I recall seeing some enemies underwater in PvE.
4. Daily Events – Two words: Dynamic Events. They litter the PvE world.
5. Daily Kills – PvE environment has enemies.
6. Recycler – I get salvageable loot from kills.
I for one like today’s daily. It’s all interconnected.
I can go out and kill things underwater with my Elementalist. Removing conditions since I’ve got traits for that when switching to water or giving myself regeneration. I’ll get loot from those kills which will give me things I can salvage. And I had 3 scrolls of knowledge so skill point accumulator was easy (I save them for when this is in the daily).
So I don’t see how I have to go into WvW or PvP to get my daily…
ArenaNet doesn’t owe you anything, Please stop making these threads.
anet didn’t owe me ? Are you kidding me ? If Anet said that it will update this system in before . No one will craft two same legendary . The playwe who craft legendary is for the skin , not for the stats . If i craft legendary weapon for stars , why i don’t craft ascended weapon ?
I’m not working towards Meterologicus for the skin so don’t speak for everyone.
They have the best stats in the game and I can change the stats of the weapon at will. Meaning one less thing I have to buy should I choose to change my build.
And since skin does NOT equal the same item, ANet does not have to offer compensation as a PR move. Which all compensation due to game changes are. Voluntary compensation on their part to make a change not as harsh.
Skin does not equal the same item? Honestly it isn’t that hard to look at the average legendary prices over the past month and let people pick a skin of equal or lesser value. They don’t even have to give people a replacement legendary, just a skin for their wardrobe.
So you’re telling me that the skins carry the stats and the ability to swap stats and have the infusion slot? OMG! I’m really going to work towards Meterologics now. I’ll be able to have it on all of my characters, even a level 2 character who can use a scepter! [/sarcasm]
Skin does not equal the same thing as the weapon.
But they didn’t put in the work, time, and/or money into that different skin. They chose to put their time and/or money into 2 items that happened to have the same skin. That was their gamble. That the game would not change too quickly and make that choice a bad one. They just happened to lose that gamble.
The gem bought items are a PR gesture since people could have spent real money on the gems to get the extra copies of the skins and dye packs. Legendaries, you do not have to open up your wallet to get them. Yes, you can turn gold into gems, but what’s the conversion rate for that?
If skins are worthless what is the harm in giving people who worked for a second a second skin? There is no harm to you if this were to happen. Furthermore the legendary you hold up so highly for stats swapping will cost hundreds more gold than making every ascended combo in the game and not have a unique sigil for each. Sorry, but your argument for getting a legendary is flawed when ascended is cheaper and more functional.
Except for the BANK and INVENTORY space I would have to have to hold all of those combos. Legendary means I don’t have to dedicate bank or inventory space for different sets or run to a city if the item happens to not be in my inventory.
ANet places a value on skins in this game. Hence why they sell armor skins in the gem store. So no, you can’t get something you didn’t work for.
And legendaries have all the functionality of ascended plus more last time I checked. So I do not see where you are getting at that ascended is more functional. Please find me a post or something that says that ascended weapons have something that legendary weapons do not.
You gambled. You lost this one.
There are better solutions that wouldn’t have to be tied to this incident. Heck, people have been asking for the better solution for ages:
A gem store item that would make account/soulbound gear non account/soulbound anymore (at least for items that aren’t created account or soulbound, so as not to make ascended gear sellable on the TP). That would affect more things than just legendaries and let those who change their mind or just wanted the skin the ability to sell the item and get a new one. For a fee. And I wouldn’t want it to be too high. Maybe around the cost of the additional character slots kind of cost.
I would send in a support ticket immediately explaining the situation.
I really don’t get what problem you’re describing. Can someone explain it properly?
OP does not like that you can’t collect your loot if you’re dead.
@OP: Collect loot even if the battle isn’t over. Just hit F every so often. Problem solved.

legendaries were meant to be about the prestige of having a unique skin showing the amount of effort you put into crafting it they didn’t have better stats or switching when the game launched and people started crafting them
2 skins = twice the effort = twice the prestige
but thats moot anyway given you can open your wallet and buy one
they should have just excluded them from the wardrobe
Many people were clamoring for legendaries to be made account bound as opposed to soulbound. This was likely ANet’s compromise. You can’t have the stats be account bound, but you can have the skin. And you have to equip the item or an item further up the progression from it to get the skin.
At least I haven’t heard anything about legendaries going account bound with this update.
People should expect things to change in MMO’s.
Deciding to go for X build or X item, etc, should be fully aware that at anytime the game may change in such a way that X build or X item is no longer viable or that something else becomes better or more desirable.
So to those who crafted 2 incinerators for the skin of it should neither expect nor demand any compensation for the now redundant time spent. This goes for all items and builds etc.
nope.. no response for ticket2 after they said on ticket1 that they will not give me any further support. so FYI CUSTOMER SUPPORT. Ticket#2 is an entirely different concern. And right now, I’d love to get a refund for the Key that I used stated on ticket2. Or I will just tell my CC company to cancel the purchase because I did not get any service for it.
Which will get your new account suspended as well, if you used that card to buy the new key.
that’s alright. right now, i’m so frustrated, I don’t really care anymore.
If it has been more than 3 days since you sent in ticket#2 there is a sticky post at the top of this section you can post in and Gaile will poke cs about it.

Unless it is impossible to trigger and complete these quests by those who aren’t aware that the quest is the one that triggers open world PvP, it is too open to people accidentally entering a game mode they do not wish to be in.
Open world PvP would be great, and it can be voluntary.
It can be an optional individual mode. If I want to PvP, I click the ‘PvP mode’ button on my screen and it puts me into PvP mode, freely able to attack other people who are also in “PvP mode” and also to be attacked – identified by their name text being the color red while in PvP mode.
When you choose to enter PvP-mode, you are bound to remain in PvP-mode for 12 in-game hours (prevents going pvp, ganking, and switching back to pve).There. Open world PvP that lets people 1v1, GvG, make their own PvP games, and does not disturb or force it on anyone who doesn’t want to. (Not wanting to ‘view it’ is not a reasonable argument as it still does not affect you)
Keep cities as ‘safe-zones’ with no PvP allowed.
Then people get harassed for not turning it on.
Your 12 hour lock means that if a player turns it on and finds they don’t like it, they either have to spend 12 hours in the cities or not play the game for 12 hours to avoid being targeted.
Now what I think could be done is have a Server that people are only ever able to guest to. It would have to be separate from the Megaservers and it would have open world PvP with the cities being safe zones.
That way those who wish to have PvP in the PvE environment can have their cake and those who do not wish to PvP don’t have to see it and aren’t as likely to be harassed.
And there will be no ill effects on any bosses or events on the map that already draw crowds.
I’ve gotten map completion on my elementalist. By the time I got to Orr I had done all of the other low level zones. I had been level 80 for a while. Long enough to have full exotic gear. And for me, being my first MMO, it was full Clerics. No where near a glass cannon. Glass sling shot is more like it. No longer full Clerics, but that’s only due to lucky drops in Fractals giving me a few Ascended items.
I did 90% of Orr solo. Of the 10% I did with others, 95% of it was in the personal story that I was tagging along with with some friends on a quest to do Arah Story mode. Friends who were fully aware I was in Clerics.
Yea, I died, a lot. But I got good at judging just how far aggro goes. I learned what I could take on and what I could not. And had to use some strategy to get to skill points that were in the middle of or blocked by group events.
And the most important thing:
I became a better player. Because I was out of my comfort zone. Out of things that I could mindlessly auto attack and kill faster than they could kill me.
One thing that also helped me was not spending all of my time in Orr. I’d do it until I became bored of running from or fighting Risen. Then I would hop onto one of my other lower level characters and level them up.
The cases I’ve read where people selected the wrong server, they still had to wait 7 days.
If you feel you selected one server but got another you will need to contact support at https://help.guildwars2.com/anonymous_requests/new and see if they can help you.
It sounds like the following happened:
Him and his friends had chosen Jade Quarry as their server at Time Point A.
At later Time Point B , OP chose that server to transfer to.
And at a later Time Point C, his friends changed their mind and chose Blackgate to transfer to.
Sounds like it’s a case of miscommunication between players and not ANet’s fault.
So chances are ANet won’t do anything, bit I’m not ANet so I can’t be positive. Your best bet is to go to your friends who changed their minds after you had transfered and go: alright, cough up some coins. You’re likely to need ~1800 gems to transfer to Blackgate if it isn’t full when you’re free to transfer again.
This is entitlement.
There are numerous websites that offer surveys to be completed for points/tokens/etc and those could be made into real money/or something else. Yet those are also given out to certain people and not others.
They are not the first ones to offer some kind of reward for time spent, nor do we know who got chosen and why. It’s non of our business.
This is how surveys work, no matter if they do or do not offer something. And as for an advantage, sorry 400 gems gives you some gold but no real advantage. That’s just a lame excuse to be able to “claim” something you want.
All we come down to again is jealousy. Only reason this got worked up to this is because it was posted here that there even was a survey.
But those numerous websites have numerous surveys and are accessible by everyone. Everyone might not qualify for all surveys, but they’ll probably qualify for a small portion of them. And you can easily see which ones you qualify for, which ones you might, and which ones you do not. So they’ll likely get paid to do one or two surveys every now and then.
This wasn’t a survey posted in an in-game mail to everyone that said: We’re looking for X number of players who tried out the Edge of the Mists during the last two weeks. Those who participate will be given gems for their time since the survey will take 15 minutes. Link to survey is_______.
Of course there would be questions in there to weed out those players who do not qualify for the survey or they might have Y slots in there for people who did not play to see why they chose to not try out the new content.
So I fail to see how comparing it to sites that offer payment for survey taking is a valid one.
Edit to add: That’s not to say I disprove of them giving gems out. It’s just 400 gems and yes, that can buy a lot of gold, it’s not really anything that’s giving a huge advantage to other players.
I just don’t think the argument that there are survey sites out there that give money for taking surveys is a valid one in this case.

Demanding that everyone have read and compared every post to their own position before making their proposal is simply not a reasonable expectation.
I fail to see what’s too “hardcore” about this. Infact I’m frankly getting very fed up with people who just burst into on-going discussions without even understanding the most basic principles of what’s being discussed, then expecting their words to carry more “weight” just because what they say is more redundant. I’ll be the first to admit I got a straight D- in reading comprehension in school but learning to ‘be respected’ on the internet changed that inattentiveness pretty fast. No, that’s not asking too much for people to at least skim each page to get a general sense of why certain overly-general proposals were already made obsolete by Iteration. Anet claims it loves iteration. Therefore so should all of its design participants….
But towards the end of the discussion when there are 40+ pages, even skimming would take ages to do.
What a person should do is:
- Read the Summaries Page. Entire thing if it’s first post, or just the new topics if it’s not
- Read the first post of the CDI post to make sure you stay on topic and all that good stuff like noting suggested formats and word counts if it’s your first post
- Read the last 2-3 pages of the thread
I do enjoy this game thanks arena ya did a great job on this game but their is one thing that is not right about this game theirs NO MOUNTS
I don’t get it every mmo game I have been to has mounts why why WHY this game doesn’t have any?
Yea one thing about mounts is that the speed increase to ya can get to one place to another quicker but that ya can limit the speed on mounts to make the speed scale like horses run in real life. Anyways I can understand on the flying mounts with a huge speed increase and missing out on a lot of the graphical content that Dev’s put into so I would suggest ground only mounts.
Ya gotta have a mount its a needed thing even back in the midevil times mounts is needed for long distant journeys. Even movies like Lord of the Ring’s, and other Midevil movies that doesn’t have any mechanical machines that take ya places uses a mount.
Even mounts will do great to make ya character look more better stand out etc and other things that a lot of people say yes to mounts for mmo games.
If devs chose to not add those mounts because of the fast moving speeds then they are missing the point ya can limit the speeds ya don’t have to follow World of Warcraft version of mount speed on the fastest ground mount. Just give a mount a 25% or 50% speed increase when ya riding and ya still go like awe on the works that arena has made to the game. Also remove like half of the maps Waypoints that way ya can still use waypoints for things like need to get to an event quick or need to get to the certain part of the map to get to a dungeon.
Also like other people are asking adding some combat while mounted just have some combat abilities not many. It will suit great in wvw even after ya balance out the problems.
If Arena net still say no to mounts then please give us a reason why you chose not to add the mounts and never ever planning to add any mounts and put a sticky to ya forums so that way ya don’t get anymore topics like these for people who are asking for mounts for this game.
Sorry if this post is like trolling but I just mad that this mmo has gone out of mounts theirs a lot of ways ya can limit the mounts so those who want to just speed demon ya way to another area theirs a lot of reasons to wanting a mount and theirs a lot of ways to limit them so it won’t be games like WoW and just limit the mounts to ground only.
By doing this right ya can still have the exploration experience when not having a mount.
Just because other MMOs have mounts doesn’t mean GW2 needs mounts.
We have technology to move far distances. Asura gates and waypoints. We don’t require medieval transport.
They would likely be available in the gem store so unless there was a free or under 1 silver mount and all mounts had the exact same speed, there would be too much uproar over p2w. We already have an uproar over a mining pick.
I don’t want to use mounts and should not be penalized for not using mounts by having waypoints removed.
I’ve never understood why people go absolutely crazy when there is more than 1 tag on a map, all you have to do is ask “where am I needed?” or “who needs more people”
it’s US against “them” if you don’t want to help then why are you on the map.
Some maps don’t need commanders.
Before this patch and LS update, LA didn’t need a bunch of commanders stationed at the bank or TP. They definitely weren’t there to try to get people to organize to do anything.
The serious RP’ers and those who immersion is important for them, I would imagine could possibly dislike the tags being visible since it isn’t natural.
The people posting don’t have an issue with more than one commander on the map. They have an issue with seeing multiple commander tags on the screen and not just only on the map anymore.
So much crying for for such small gripe. Is one commander tag on the screen really that bad? seriously…
The thing is since you can buy them a lot of people have them. So it’s not just one commander tag on the screen…
Having an option to turn it off if you don’t like it wouldn’t hurt the people who like to see the tags. It’s not like people are asking for them to be removed for all. Just the option to turn them off.
First off all, when quoting someone, make sure you quote fully.
Not. Going. To. Happen.
If people want to see the full text, it’s hyperlinked right here in the quote header. I’m going to continue to assume that anyone who cares that much has either already read your post in full or will look it up. I decline to spam the boards with full quotes where I don’t feel they add to comprehension.
Feel free to ignore me. Or to have a conversation as the mood strikes you. But get over the notion that you’re going to dictate terms to me on how I post.
Until you mentioned to me that the header was a clickable link, I was not aware that that was the case. There may very well be more people than me that are not aware of that feature.
But mercury does have a point.
If you cut out too much, you remove context. Someone who has not read the entire thread, might have missed that initial post and missed the context. And then respond incorrectly. There’s a sweet spot between only grabbing what is necessary and removing too much.
I do think that not too much was cut out of Nike’s post given what his complaint was. Having the entire post there or just that one line gives an impression that the poster wants people to read the entire thread (otherwise, how are you going to know if you’re suggestion has been made?).
Yes, most people are not going to read past the first few pages and possibly the last few pages. Nothing said or done can make people read a several page thread. Especially as it gets towards the end.
But all who wish to participate in the thread should do our bests to read as much of the thread as we can given the amount of time that we each have.

One problem I forsee:
How do you want people to label which proposal they are responding to?
I have a feeling several people will likely have several different methods to solve several of the problems in the various topics.
How would I let readers know that I’m responding to A’s suggestion and not B’s?
Or responding to C’s discussion point on A’s suggestion?
perhaps with the quote button, like i just did
sorry, bit snarky, but i think youre reading too deep and diving into the shallow end…
But what happens 20 posts down the line if the post really strikes up a conversation? When you’re 3+ pages away from the initial post? And those quoted posts take up your word count (forum imposed).
I’m not so much worried about the first few responses to a post, they’ll be close enough to the original to figure it out. But once it’s not within a page or two and once people have to start snipping out quoted materials to keep their posts under the forum’s post limit, THAT is what I’m more referring to.
One problem I forsee:

Here I was, trying to condense all my suggestions in an easy-to-read bullet point format, and now you want me to limit it even further with separate issues and the how-to’s? You think I want to spend 5 days worth of making posts of every individual suggestion with all the benefits, potential risk factors and why it should be so-and-so? Are you paying me?
Why should I bother with more restrictions when these CDI topics are all a farce anyway? You guys knew the Ranger has had severe issues since launch and now we are called upon to fix your game?
So I am just going to copy-paste my earlier post as I don’t have time to suddenly translate all my suggestions and follow a ‘format’ like it’s a board-meeting. My list is easy enough to understand and I don’t need to explain every single issue in a multi-stage format. Sorry to be blunt but this is your game, so please deal with it.
So you can’t separate out your ideas more?
Proposal Overview
Shorten the Dredge Fractal
Goal of Proposal
The Dredge Fractal is way too long with low reward to show for the time spent. Some groups spend upwards of an hour and a half on just that fractal alone.
Proposal Functionality
*Decrease console time needed in the cage room
*Reduce number of dredge at the door
*Remove final boss and let clown car be the final. (Make final boss a new Boss Level Fractal?)
Associated Risks
None that I can think of.
See, you can take a bullet list and split it into categories.
Companies tend to respond better to suggestions if you can prove to them that your suggestion will solve a problem but not create too many other problems. Or the problems would be a lesser evil.
