And by the way, from what I heard people on their home server already have priority over guests when it come to overflow queues.

As to farmers, if your playing the game and not just trying to grief them just tell them the event will come back up eventually and to do something else while they wait. Then ignore them. Report if they get rude.

But guesting should never cost anything. Ever.

First off I understand the whole ‘bonding with my character’ thing. My main not just a few pixels on the screen for me, she is her own character with a backstory. She isnt real, but thats not to say she isnt important to me.

As for your suggestion I disagree that a conversion is even needed. Reroll another character using the same name and looks etc and think of it as a rebirth of your main. Make up some story in your head that your main got injured during battle and couldnt be saved, but Asuran technology put him/her into another similar body. Give the new character some differences in appearance, saying the process isnt perfect.

The new character isnt actually new, its a new beginning for your main. Think of it in that way and youll realise that you arent losing a character, youre merely taking it down a different path. Its all about using your imagination

Thank you, I think I will try this
Just a question, is there a way to transfer items to different characters? I spent my heroic edition items on this, and I don’t want to lose it.(also crafting things)
because I can’t seem to mail items to myself.

What items are you needing to move over that are soul bound? As those are the only items that you can’t just transfer over.

You can transfer items between your own characters through the bank. The bank is account wide storage.

Map Completion - Metrics on Player Anger?

I’d go for that, LadyRhonwyn. The sameness of the maps gets tedious and doesn’t feel like exploring at all.

Those who actually WvW would not like this as completing the borderlands does give blueprints and other WvW useful things I believe.

Strange to me to have to pay for skills, as a new player.

Don’t worry it’s not that hugely powerful. ANet is good about not having anything pay to win in the cash shop.

Very few people actually use it once they can afford the other elite skills.

If the achievement did not come hand in hand with gifts of exploration for the legendary, then one could argue for its removal. But now that achievement chests contain badges of honor, it definitely needs to remain as is. Legendaries should show that a player has done a lot of the game. I am against them being sold on the TP for that reason.

The only solution to the “problem” to me would be splitting the achievement in three: PvE, WvW, and the sum of the first two (like the wintersday meta achievement that awards the mini and the title). The title and gifts of exploration would be tied to the sum achievement to match how it currently works.

Randomize world event timers

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Seera.5916

Seera.5916

While there are timers, bosses don’t start unless you complete the meta events. Even then, if you don’t have enough friends or guildies to help you, you wouldn’t be able to 1) complete the meta in time or 2) can’t kill the boss in time.

You should be thankful these events cycle on a timer. Otherwise, you’d have to get lucky to come across enough people on the map willing to do the event with you when you log on.

You need to go back and read my original suggestion about how maybe it should start only when enough people are there to start it. Plus this way world events and bosses could be added to the LFG and then Guilds could advertise they were forming a group to kill w/e and more people could just join though the LFG as well. Of course the LFG lacks in the area of adds for open world areas. I have yet to see anybody asking for any groups in this and yet this idea would make it very likely that it could be used that way.
Also they would need a way for us to allow forming of much larger groups, maybe upgrade to the commanders to allow a list of squad members so a cmd’r can know when they have enough to go ahead and start.

How many people would be deemed enough? My brother and three others took down Lyssa one day as the zerg wasn’t there on his server.

Your suggestion would mean that any low activity server would never have the harder bosses done. Ever. Meaning the players would have to guest to other servers. Ramping up the difficulty and possibly generating overflows. And players shouldn’t have to guest to be able to do an event. Succeed the event, yes, but not to do an event, even if they are doomed to fail it due to too few players.

After seeing some of the comments about the OP, I guess I should clarify what I mean by randomize. I believe, in the most basic sense, that you should not know that at exactly X:XXpm the shadow behemoth will spawn on server Y. That just pulls you right out of the game. Suddenly the time and the reward of the event are more important than the fact that the battle itself is going on. It becomes just another thing that needs to be done.

You seem to be misunderstanding something. The exact spawn time is not known. That is why there is a spawn window. The window is just max respawn time minus minimum cooldown time. The only time you could say the spawn time is known would be if it has already overshot the maximum respawn time.[/quote]

This. The people who know when things happen use a program who looks at the game’s data to tell people when certain events or pres are up. Your proposed change would do nothing to solve the problem you see. I personally don’t have a problem with it.

Please read my previous posts in this thread. I am against the proposed change. Because it will not solve the problem. It’s just a symptom of the problem and the proposed change would hurt the person who is at the level of Queensdale more than it would hurt the zerg train runners. I’d rather time and energy be spent fixing the problem than just treating a symptom.

And I’m fully aware that rude people will be rude no matter what and that it would take too much effort to get rid of the rude people. Which is why I just say report them and move on if the person feels the other player went too far.

So what was the point of your response to my post?

Partially agreeing and disagreeing with it. I noted a point where I disagreed with it (you said it wasn’t a new player who would be soloing a champion, I disagreed). Then I noted where I agreed: the whole killing a champ and complaining about killing a champ wasn’t a problem, it’s the how and/or why it was done that’s the problem.

They could still be new players. Not the average new player, but still a new player nonetheless.

GW2 isn’t likely their first MMO as they’ll probably have some experience with how to evade and watching for tells, etc. But it could still very well be their first MMO and it just happens to come easy to them and they lucked into picking the best gear set up and skills, etc.

Simply complaining about a champ being killed out of order in and of itself isn’t a problem, but when the people turn on the person who killed the champ out of order and yelling at them and reporting them is a problem. It gives the vast majority of the Queensdale zerg train a bad rep when most of them don’t have a huge problem with people playing the game and they happen to kill off the champ.

What likely happened in the OP’s case is they probably thought he was derailing the train for the simple sake of derailing the train. Not to test out his skills. Three times in a row would be hard for most people to pass off as just a player going through the zone playing as intended.

Sure, it is possible a new player is the video game prodigy. Enough prodigies to warrant a game change? I doubt it.

People aren’t required to be nice and polite. You won’t fix that. But if it gest harrassing there is already a fix for thet. How is a report a probelm if the devs ignore those reports? So really his idea is to fix peoples “rude behavior”. I say that’s a waste of time and energy.

If new players are soloing champs for funzies, i’d hesitate to call them ‘new players’. It means they have appropriate gear, appropriate builds and the experience to use them. And it means they have the experience under their belts that allowedd them to get to that level. Wich means it isn’t new players so much as old players with thin skin. If it isn’t reportable it isn’t a problem.

That goes for both views. Killing a champ isn’t a problem. Complaining about killing a champ also isn’t a problem. The way we do these things can be a problem but ther is already a solution when it is problem.

If new players limit themselves to one map without even finding out if there are high level players in other zones, a-net shouldn’t need to further cater to that rediculousness.

They could still be new players. Not the average new player, but still a new player nonetheless.

The fix? Keep interrupting the train and turn off chat. While they can report you, nothing is going to happen because you are playing the game as intended.

That won’t fix the problem either. They’ll just either quit the game for a few hours or just deal with having to skip a champion or two for a bit. A vast majority of the zerg does not care if someone kills a champion out of turn because it’s likely a player just playing the game with no ill intent towards the train (such as the OP in this case).

I’d imagine if it was one player continuously sending in the reports for people who are not breaking the rules, they themselves might find themselves warned or punished for false reports.

However, if the zerg can gather enough proof that you are specifically killing the champions out of order, simply to grief other players, then you might have some problems. Griefing other players, if it can be proved is punishable.

And I have heard reports that on at least a few servers if you at least announce that you’re going to try to take on a zerg train champ and want to go it alone or in your small group, most of the time those in charge of the zerg will have the zerg skip that champion. Most aren’t rude little buggers. And if it’s just one time unannounced, most of the zerg train people will realize that it was just a player playing the game with no ill intent towards them.

The problem is NOT the zerg in the queensdale. The zerg in queensdale is just a symptom of the problem!

The problem is there is no real challenging content that gives reward that’s worth the time and effort spent.

And no to your suggestion. Your suggestion would punish the at level players a lot worse than the zerg.

First of the month rolls around, zerg does their train. Moves on to the next zone to zerg around in (hence the problem isn’t fixed if they’re just in another zone doing it).

Newcomer at the level of Queensdale gets with a group of other low level friends and kills the Champion Risen Oakheart when they’re all quite a few levels below him for the sheer challenge of it. When that newcomer at the level of Queensdale gets to the level below Oakheart a week later he decides he wants to solo that Champion Risen Oakheart. Gets no loot since he already did it that month despite having to spend upwards of five minutes on the fight. Meanwhile, zerg is off in Fireheart Rise getting loot, auto-attacking the enemy for no more than a few minutes with no real risk of dying.

See the problem there? The newcomer is punished because he’s doing content that’s at his level or above. The level 80 zerg has just moved on to another zone and are still getting rewards. And once they exhaust all zones, they’ll probably go do dungeons for the rest of the month or stop playing the game.

Until the reason for the zerg is addressed, the zerg will still exisit somewhere in the game.

And your reason for the level 40 leaving the game IS part of the true problem. The zerg train in Queensdale (and on Frostgorge on some servers) is just a symptom of the problem. The other part is people need mats and gold for crafting ascended gear and right now those two zones have the most profitable gold/time ratio.

I hate WvW because I’m not skilled enough for it. I won’t be taking a tower, I won’t be anywhere near enemies (except the skritt and centaurs near the skill points). I’m just as bad as an AFK’er. There are those of us who are absolutely horrible in WvW trying to do our map completion. We aren’t at risk of getting kicked for inactivity, but a call for action won’t get us moving towards where the action is. In fact, we’ll run to the opposite side of them map.(…)

I doubt you’re that horrible at WvW, if you can do dungeons and fractals you’re not useless in WvW.
You’re not spouse to take a tower on your own, just run with a group and the things eventually will come. Play with the map rotation, at the end you might have one or two pesky ones to get that will take time but you’ll get it eventually.
The way people play WvW makes the towers and keeps volatile, they aren’t hold for ever.

As for the exploit, like it was said before, you’d have people creating toons and getting the gift of exploration before deleting them, and doing this over and over again pretty much taking away that part of the difficulty on making a legendary.

I run full clerics and not vet mobile, so unless I’m with a zerg, I go down fast and my server is no tier one due to lack of players.

I see your point. Others in other threads had suggested like a exploration toggle. Which would be used to spy and such. And would have a much worse impact than the one I suggested.

There are much bigger fish to fry like AFKers, it’s not uncommon to see people just standing at the waypoint for 30, 60+ minutes taking the occasional step so they won’t get kicked.

At least people that are trying to get the map are doing something, you need to get inside towers and keeps after all.
Take it from someone who has the complete WvW map on 4 toons, AFKers are a bigger problem.

Lastly, it won’t change because it would be not only unfair, but exploitable too.

In fact, we’ll run to the opposite side of them map.

I still say split it up. Maybe give a “third” achievement which hands out the gifts that’s only requirement is the PvE and WvW achievements. It awards 0 AP. WvW gets 3 AP, PvE gets 2 (WvW gets more since on the more populated WvW tiers getting everything is a bit tied to luck when it comes to which color you’ll be on and if the right tower is being taken. PvE is much more easily done.

This way the completionists can reach 100% map completion with the PvE map if they hate WvW instead of sitting at 95%. Which could be close enough to pop up on the nearly done achievements list and really bug the completionist.

And the con you came up with for the original suggestion is a not as bad of an exploit or missing the point of the achievement as some of the suggestions to handle WvW exploration have been.

PvE & WvW: Would you sPvP if rewarded badges of honor?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Seera.5916

In the why you don’t sPvP thread it seemed clear to me that the primary reason most players did not play sPvP was not the rewards. It was more game play related (no build variety, no multiple game styles, etc).

You’re idea would likely grab a small portion of players but not many and there would be the temporary ones if losses granted badges. People going for legendaries probably wouldn’t mind getting badges in sPvP for losses since losses in WvW do not grant badges of honor if they were not a fan of WvW.

WvW map completion can be done in a few hours on a low population server – with a few friends. No real challenge there compared to PvE Map completion/exploration which is much harder.

Unfortunately I don’t agree with this change.
I do however understand the difficulty of completing WvW Maps to 100% in busy T1 servers – the only workaround here is to wait a week till you change position (colour) and go explore a bit at a time.

Then shouldn’t those who manage to do that in a T1 server have something to show for it?

And how many players go for more than one legendary? It would reduce the number of I hate WvW I’m just here for my gifts of exploration players in WvW taking up slots for those who do wish to actually play WvW on those T1 servers where there are likely still queues for WvW.

As well as let the players who play WvW solely have a means of getting the gift of exploration without having to do PvE. I imagine for those who hate PvE as much as players who hate WvW, doing the 90%+ exploration of PvE probably feels like it takes ages.

At least this suggestion doesn’t open up ways to play spy in WvW as some suggestions have proposed.

How would you define a dungeon runner?

Why should they be banned from turning gold to gems? They’ve already been largely pushed to other games due to the fact that ANet doesn’t do anything with the dungeons. And their latest ghost fixes to dungeons have only made things worse as the one they did the last time turned the enemy from a bugged enemy to a ridiculously hard enemy so the path is still avoided.

Prohibiting them from turning their gold to gems would likely be the last nail in their coffin and they would find another game. It would do nothing to push those players to buy gems with real money.

ANet needs to reinstate the dungeon team so that the current dungeons can be fixed and properly balanced and new dungeons/paths can be added.

I think it would be on the tricky side to get exactly the AP equal to your number. So I care.

Going for a daily when you’re one away you could inadvertently hit a slayer achievement or a weapon master achievement if it’s a kill related one. Or monthly if you hit it right at day 4 of the month and didn’t remember daily completion counted towards the monthly. Someone rushes in and you get off that last combo you need for the combo one.

Trying to appease speed runners

You’re in the dungeon forums bro. The abandoned wasteland where only the hardcore PvErs remain.

All of us here would LOVE if they appeased to speed runners, rather than ignoring us with their pathetic temp content.

And there are some of us casuals who do wish that you hardcore players would get some bones tossed to them.

A single path for each dungeon that’s hard and gives appropriate reward for that increased difficulty would be a nice addition.

That way there would still be a way for casuals to earn the tokens for the dungeon albeit at a slower pace, but the hardcore players can get their challenge in and get decent rewards for doing so.

Or something along those lines.

And I honestly think it is not too much to ask for.

But you pug when you have no other choice but to do so if you do not have 4 other friends or guild mates to run with. For whatever reason.

That’s one thing – the OP seems to not realize – dodging means MORE than actually dodging a blow.

And I don’t think he was talking about PVE here Seera, I think he was leaning more towards sPVP or WvW. Players dodging is not a bad thing. Vigor is not a bad thing – you want MORE FLUID combat not more static combat.
That’s what the designers intended when they made the system that we have today – i think it would be foolish to remove a boon just because some people feel it trivializes combat ( pve or pvp combat). A lot of things could be accused of that – including stunbreakers.

I’ve had more than a few friends who were hardcore pvp players in other MMOs quit because they could not see the sense of a stunbreaker.
They went : " if i’ve stunned him why does he get a way out? " – in their minds that trivialized combat as well. But that’s not the case – it makes it more complex and fluid.

Same with vigor – fighting an opponent with vigor up means you have to TIME your attacks right. It means you have to play BETTER in order to succeed.

OP does mention PvE build diversity in the first post and talks about world bosses in another post. But I think the OP has issues with it in all aspects of the game.

It seems he believes taking things away from the game will make it more skill based – that is not the case. Even with vigor dodges are still limited and you still have to make them count. A player that dodges just for the heck of it will find himself going down quickly.

I honestly don’t understand why this mechanic would be changed.

Seriously?

There are builds that have amazing dodge up-time. As I mentioned, dodge is equivalent to invulnerability. If a build is pushing 25% or more invulnerability, the system is broken.

Nobody is arguing dodge, just vigor (except for those who can’t read the OP topic).

I stick by my position that it’s a lazy mechanic in its current state which is you don’t have to play harder, just dodge more…

And you seem to fail to realize that we realize that the OP is asking for vigor to be removed!

Players who spec into having access to the most vigor possible GIVE up other options. There are ways to counter vigor. Use them. Don’t ask for it to be removed because of the few people who spec that much into vigor usage.

The proposed solution would only be a band aid for the real problem. If the bosses required more tactics instead of just spam auto-attack, then maybe players wouldn’t be able to have so many vigor giving things. And that would fix some of the boring nature of champ trains and other good things. And maybe even increase variety of welcome builds in dungeon runs.

Address the real problem. Not just something that would reduce build variety without solving the problem.

Why can they put so much into vigor should be the question. Not ANet should remove vigor. They can put so much into it because they feel there is no reason not to when you can just face roll with auto-attack with the class’s weakest weapon and dodge the attacks.

If you get rid of the reason why they can afford to put so much into vigor, then the problem will largely go away.

Vigor is not the problem, it’s a symptom. Enemy AI is the problem.

Deleting vigor would be like taking cough medicine for a cold. Cough medicine isn’t going to kill whatever it is that’s making you cough. It’s just going to do things to reduce the need to cough. And your body will find another way to get rid of the cold.

Players will just jump to the next best way to avoid dying and then I’m sure you or the OP or someone will come complain that it’s overpowered and should be removed/nerfed/etc.

Weapon swap for elementalists will never happen as it would give ele’s way more skills to access than other classes.

Weapon swap would increase our usable weapons skills during combat from 20 to 40. Please, what class has 40 weapon skills currently?

While it would be nice to be able to switch weapons while in combat, it’s something that all players who like elementalists need to realize will never happen.

We’re way more likely to get a fifth element since it would be just 5 more skills. And if we got another element, it would likely be arcane. And paired with a massive drop in number of available utility skills as ANet would likely move the utility skills to weapon skills.

Seera, for starters please know that my main is a thief and I play in the top 100 of team queue.

The reason I believe it makes combat more challenging is that you have to actually make your dodges count. All too often people will dodge for no reason or to increase movement speed, which can completely avoid something someone else has set up and not through skill, just sheer luck and that IMO takes away from high level play.

And I main an elementalist whose survivability is somewhat tied to access to vigor as my build is currently bunker elementalist.

With vigor, I still have to make my dodges count. I can think of numerous situations when I wish my endurance was full or at half full. Even with vigor. Vigor doesn’t increase the number of dodges we have and it doesn’t make our endurance fill instantly. It’s not the win button you seem to think it is.

No one dodges without a valid reason! It could be an accidental double tap on their keyboard. It could be because they are an elementalist with elemental attunement and dodging will grant them 5 seconds of regeneration if they are in water. Or it could be because they recognize your tell and realize it’s time to move. Or any number of things. Only the FIRST one would be a dodge that everyone would like to avoid happening unless it happens at the lucky right moment.

And as the other person said, access to vigor was already nerfed! I used to be able to gain vigor via cantrips. While that trait still exists, it was moved (or something was moved to its tier). Now I get it or Elemental Attunement. I’d rather gain more useful boons than have more dodges via vigor.

Learn strategies to counter vigor, they exist. Stop asking it to be nerfed because you think it trivializes the content. It doesn’t. And if you don’t like vigor, don’t use it.

Level Restrictions?

Idk… I just think it would be easier to use LFG the way it should be…

That’s the thing though. Those LFG’s looking for other players at level 80 ARE using it as it should be.

They want to do a quick run through of the path. So they ask for others who are their own level to run the dungeon with. Mostly due to the fact that level 80’s have all their traits, have had plenty of time to get any useful utility and elite skills, and have a higher chance of knowing the mechanics.

Your best bet is to start a LFG of your own making it clear that is a casual run or find a guild that is willing to do the path with you. You might have to wait a little bit longer to do so and you’re run could well be in the hour to 2 hour range, but until you’re at level 80 or know the people you are running with, chances are most groups won’t want to take the hit on the DPS.

The DPS hit comes mostly from traits and gear since traits and gear don’t downscale completely. A level 80 with full exotics and all their traits placed will be more powerful as a level 35 player than an actual level 35 player. And the groups that ask for level 80, experienced players are the ones that are looking to speed clear.

But above all, just admit up front that you’re new to the dungeon and be willing to listen to what people say. And don’t join the groups that ask for level 80 experienced. Those three things will open a lot more doors with the experienced players. Because most of them, if not all of them, would really like it if more people who PUG’ed learned the mechanics of the paths and learned the best builds, etc. Just not on their speed clear runs.

Edit: And this is coming from someone who due to their own skills (or lack thereof) has to run in full clerics and therefore when I decide to do the dungeon runs I’ll need to get the tokens will have to either spend several gold regearing (that I need to use for buying other things for the legendaries I’m after) or several hours in the dungeons since I shouldn’t join the speed clear groups. Because I know my bunker ele doesn’t do much in the way of DPS. And it would be nice to do the speed clears because 45-60 minutes for all 3 paths vs the 4.5 to 5 hours for all paths starts to add up.

World bosses are simply Zerg content. World bosses in my opinion don’t offer much in the fun aspect.

You can however pick any dungeon boss, google it, and find a video of it being killed by a single player.

My suggestion is not a troll thread, it is a genuine opinion. This game would in my opinion gain depth if dodges were stripped right back.

I assume the more casual player is that which enjoys lots if dodges. Personally I enjoy hard content and PvP and as such would like depth added to those two aspects.

Don’t assume things. It makes both parties look bad.

There are some classes that heavily rely on mobility to stay alive. Dodges are part of that mobility.

Thieves come to mind. Elementalists do as well.

These two classes have a low health pool and if they aren’t mobile they’re dying.

Except in zerg, but even horrible players who never dodge and just auto attack can stay alive in zerg so you can’t really claim that as proof that vigor should go.

Play a glass cannon build on a low health pool class and then come back and tell me that vigor needs to go.

My guess is you lost to someone who has a build that relies on vigor and just don’t want to be bothered to change your build to counter it.

Builds that focus on putting vigor on themselves are liable to be glass cannon. they hit hard, but can’t be hit hard. Remove or reduce their ability to move via cripple, immobilize, daze, etc, and you’ll be able to take them out. Or at least make them worried about you taking them out.

Wouldn’t it be easier for you to just block them when they whisper something you do not like and move on and enjoy your life. That pretty much makes their unblocking and additional whispers useless.

I suppose you think that women are responsible for preventing kitten as well, and that the rapists should just be allowed to go their merry way to find another victim?

No but if someone is annoying you in chat…. /block works wonders and works every time.

And honestly trying to equate kitten and some clown sending you annoying whispers is pretty poor taste.

This. Comparing someone rudely giving you their opinion, which is perfectly legal in most places, to something that is illegal is poor taste.

It’s you vs the bully. Bullies only bother people who they get a reaction from. Realize that their putting down of your game in the manner they did is a sign they know their game isn’t good. Report if it’s truly rule breaking and block them in return.

They are worked out in a way that players on infrequent playtimes can also achieve them. Stop feeling entitled to something that is actually there for everyone.

I wouldn’t call him entitled. He’s not asking for them to be easier.

He just wants to be rewarded for doing things that he feels more worth the AP and laurels you get and is that really so bad?

However, you are right in saying that the monthly, like the daily, are designed so that most players can do them, even the players who don’t have a large amount of time to dedicate to the game can do them.

There’s a dragon there that you have to get close enough to in order to trigger the next part. Almost got me killed as it kept fearing me into a corner of a wall that was still close enough for him to fear me again as I tried to get out of it.

1. Candy Attunement?! Really. I’d rather see an Arcane Attunement over some gimmicky attunement that would only really make sense during the little time that Halloween activities are up.

2. Only if it’s out of combat only. Elementalists have way too many skills given the 4 attunements to allow them to double from 20 to 40 weapon skills during combat.

3. Don’t use conjured weapons so I can’t comment on this suggestion.

Due to jumping puzzles and vistas being on the ends of jumping puzzles ANet will never add flying mounts. Would trivialize too much content.

I think at the time one could afford a flying mount. They will either have all of the vistas, or they are never going to get them.

So how do you propose this happens?

Gems? People with wallets full of money can buy gems the day they get the game.

Gold? See above just with the gems converted to gold.

Yet another account bound currency that players who don’t want mounts have to deal with? They break the no grind for things that advantages promise again.

Use current account bound currencies instead? See the current discussion on how it’s a grind to get those currencies in the first place. And see above about the promise being broken.

So please tell me how a flying mount would not trivialize jumping puzzles and vistas.

just 1 guy left. Whoever made this mechanic must be a kitten.

That seems to be the general consensus on the issue. The only current solution is to make sure at the beginning of the run that whomever starts the dungeon/fractal run does not plan on switching characters or have to leave in the middle.

I haven’t had any connections short of one that affected everyone on that particular map. Blazeridge Steppes had issues one night for Crystal Desert. And people liking to dodge isn’t an argument. I’m not suggesting it’s removed, simply made less frequent.

Balance would shift, however I don’t think it would make as big of a difference as you may first think. I believe escape mechanics in PvP are more important, unless looking at such builds as S/D thieves, whereby they will simply chain dodges until they are able to do something else.

Maybe we should remove their Healing Signet. It’s no fair that they get a signet that will regen their health so quickly but other classes don’t get to have it.

While we’re at it, we should remove the mesmer clones, because it’s so hard to keep track of which is the clone and which is the player. And while we’re at it, we should change the downed Ranger 3. It’s no fair that they can have their pets revive them.

[/sarcasm]

Don’t like other players using vigor against you? Design a build to counter it and use it. You’ll very likely throw their game off. Make it a challenge for them! Don’t remove it from them and force them to find a new build to learn. Find a way to keep them without any vigor so that they don’t have the level of endurance regen you hate.

And in PvE, why do you care if I’m able to defeat X boss alone or not? As a squishy elementalist, if I’m able to do a group event solo, it’s because I decided to go for the challenge. Not because it’s a walk in the park.

I’m a bunker ele. I use my dodge to heal when in water. Tell me, how am I, a squishy elementalist, supposed to even think about surviving against warriors, the current favorite of ANet, when other players scream nerf my build? When the last patch nerfed me. I used to get vigor more often. The last patch meant I had to to choose between 2 skills. I chose the other since it was more useful. Please, don’t remove my means of survival just because you can’t handle playing against the classes with access to multiple ways to gain vigor. Find a build to counter it if you hate it so much and don’t scream nerf if you can’t. The builds exist. Learn to counter them or learn to out last them.

i think you might have accidentally purchased GW2 instead of The Sims 2…hope you kept your receipt :p

They are up to Sims 3 and Sims 4 is out late 2014.

@OP:

1. And what would be so special about the family? What do you envision the family being? How do you accomplish this with the varying races? Sylvari don’t have families like we think of them, though they can fall in love. Charr have others raise their kids and I believe the same for the Asura.

2. I believe this one is at least on their list of things they’re working towards. There is a home instance at the moment.

3. They do have Minis that can be bought we gems or won through various holiday activities. This will probably be as close to pets as we’ll get.

4. 80 isn’t that hard to get to.

Why pay for not being level 80? in AC?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Seera.5916

Seera.5916

As a sometimes seller, sometimes purchaser, let me say, it is frustrating that more dungeons aren’t sold, because it was a cheap way of leveling since crafting 80 got the axe with 500 cap in crafts.

And at 1.2g for a dungeon run of AC, you should pipe down because you’re actually making money buying that. Nobody said it was “disgusting” for a seller to make money off of 6 buyers while those 6 buyers ALSO made money any time someone sold CoF in GW1; it was very well favored among what basically amounted to nearly everyone entering Doomlore Shrine.

I don’t think the OP had the issue with them selling the path. The problem to me seemed to be that they wanted gold simply because she wasn’t on a level 80 charrie and it was for AC. She didn’t mention what the title of the LFG said or if it was her own or not. So we don’t have the full story.

1. I’d rather ANet focus on generating new ideas for races than grabbing them from other games and typical fantasy games. The tengu, the skritt, the kodan, the hylek, etc are all good ideas for a possible new race that would be unique to GW2. Instead of just another game with elves, orcs, and goblins. I believe we will likely not see dwarves as they got wiped out pre-GW2 start lore wise.

2. The story will get added to eventually. Late January you’ll see the Living Story pop up. It’s on a winter break at the moment. They are two week segments to tell a story.

I don’t think the devs are going to implement that feature, for reasons to me unknown: in the meantime you can use the mail. It’s not as quick, but works the same.

Here’s why:

To prevent the number of people going: So and so scammed me! He said he was going to give me X item for Y gold. But he sent me Z item which is no where near X item quality or worth.

And they already HAVE a system for trading from one player to another. It’s called the Trading Post. The taxes on it are a gold sink to remove gold from the economy to try to keep inflation going as slow as they possibly can.

Use mail at your own risk. There are scammers out there. Do not give people more than you are willing to give away because you might not get what you were promised in return.

nope, i would be happy if we first fixed what we currently have.

All resources to it.

I have never seen a game that was without bugs. why wait and hold off new content and features waiting for 100% bug fix, which has never happened in a big game before?

thats why I never understood this argument.

When there doesn’t seem to be much effort put into fixing the glitches that are already plaguing that part of the game and those skills were there from launch.

We’re not asking for all bugged skills to suddenly be fixed. But it would be nice if a vast majority of them got fixed. Or at least patches that attempt to fix it. But as it stands it’s like ANet is pretending the glitched skills don’t exist. And trying to balance the game with those broke skills in mind.

The problem with that is that map completion gives 2 gifts of exploration. Which are used in legendary creation.

Now if map completion itself gave a tome of exploration and it was coded to NOT give the gifts of exploration, then that would be fine. So that players would have to complete it ONCE to get it.

A Question

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Seera.5916

Seera.5916

Third party mods are against the terms of use.

yeah i now what you mean but the specific mod doesnt give any advantage to someone who uses it neither in PvE or PvP it just makes the combat feel like it is real action combat

ANet takes the approach of it’s easier to just ban them all than approve ones that don’t add any advantage.

Doesnt make sense tbh

It does.

The moment ANet announced they’ll let cosmetic mods only the number of mods will increase by a large amount. Including mods that people will have differing opinions on whether or not something is an advantage or not. Meaning ANet would have to step in and figure it out. Spending time on deciding if a mod is approved or not. Instead of fixing glitches, coming up with new gear, etc. So in order to save time and money, ANet just flat out bans it. And rightfully so. ANet needs to spend more time fixing the game and coming out with new content. Not playing is this mod advantageous or not.
