Orr is a problem, thats really true, but you forget that there are new maps, new areas that can be added.

We can go above Frostgeorge, and try conquering and where Jormag can be a ruler, just like Orr, but instead in living story, when changes can be made easily without touching personal story.

Look at it this way, each 1-2 month Pact can set foot into new area (new map) bringing fight closer and closer to Jormag.

It can be done rather easily lore and map wise.
Idea: We go and conquer new area. Pact starts at the one point and after 2 weeks we get 1 additional base on the map. 2nd base after next 2 weeks or month (totally outside of LS). After that we can build big canon to go through a mountain on our path or build a ship that will allow us to cross big lake to another map.
So we can get another map after like 2 months and it would still have a very nice base, It would really take 1 month preparations and LS can go on with other stories in the mean time, going back to this Jormag expansion every few months when pack needs heroes help with the war.

They did kinda explain scarlet reason for her crazy actions, least as much as they could without spoiling the ending.

Yeah, sure…

So they made scarlet an enigma. She comes and goes when she pleases, there is no real base on what she will do.

That is the worst, cause you can put her everywhere, she will always be there and she will pop up when there will be no real reason for something, cause in her madness she can be everywhere right?

I prefer seeing heroes and enemies with real background.

When I saw Aetherblades attacking in Zephyr Sanctum it was as it should be, sky pirates attacking sky merchants. When Molten Alliance attacked Shiverpeaks and Ascalon it was OK, they lived in there. When Rox goes to DR as ambassador instead of Ritlock, it’s OK. Thats logical.

When Scarlets runs whole Tyria it’s just stupid for me…
When she poses more thread than Zaithan, an elder dragon, that is even more stupid for me.
When we are lead to conquer Scarlets bases and mess up with her plans without any base instead of fighting real game thread – Dragons, it really makes me sad.

And the worst is lore, the lack of it and some many holes.

There is this master plan and many situations that are based somewhere and there are like 2 sentences about it if any given…

Lacking Growth

They made a major miscalculation in thinking that change was an adequate substitute for growth. It wouldn’t be even if the LS was of very high quality (which it isn’t). And players are frustrated as the world just gets more and more stale.

True, it won’t make people like more GW2 if the world is like it is now…

Basically if the world doesn’t grow it will die.
I love GW2 and it makes me sad to be forced to tun all the same places again and again. There is just nothing to freshen things up.

I will try to make it constructive criticism.

If you need 15k candy corn for 1 bag and you lets say each will cost 1 copper it will still give us 15 gold per bag (and price is way higher than 1 copper per piece).

The average price of ant 20 slot bag is now 12,5 gold.

So please let me know how come ANet announces on the site that there will be a 20 slot bag reward in this festival to make us happy thinking about all the space we can get and then you make it not even worth getting one?!

I’m really disappointed here.
You announce something cool and then make it worthless.
I understand that it has to be hard to get and you don’t throw away free stuff in here but it should be worth something at least. Now it’s an empty reward.

It was the same in Dragonbash, no one would ever use candies to get wings cause it was way to expensive. Why bother then to add something totally not usable by players?

The rewards should be something that you can work towards and then get it, instead you made something useless and the worst part is that you placed it in release page to make people wait for something useless…

I think the LS should focus on tying up loose lore ends in GW1, before starting anything new like Scarlet. There are so many things they can talk about. Joko, 6 gods, Mursaats, etc.

They don’t even need to finish everything at once. But please get it started. And then maybe mix it with new villains like Scarlet in between.

I agree (I hate Scarlet being everywhere cause it’s boring).

For me GW1 lore should interest people and it can be shown in GW2 by some NPCs that will reveal that or make it show while we uncover some new lore that bases on the old one…

Nope, GW2 will force us to drop all we knew about the world and write the story anew… Thats horrible concept. For new players and old ones.
My friends were all excited listening about 7 year old world that will be continued and we get no continuations now. Only some new ideas that aren’t that amazing for me and most of my guildies.

I can say that I enjoyed some LS, but in the end it becomes more and more boring…
Especially with many stories incomplete and unmentioned for months.

As you see there are zones that were planned for release but were never ended, but they could use that in LS instead force us to do laps around all old maps, which is no that bad, but is pad if you never add any and only make us do rounds.

At first ANet planned to expand maps in Flame and Frost but you stopped that and it makes it really boring to run all the same maps again and again.
I know you have your ideas for living stories, but really you can add like 1 map each 1 or 2 months and maybe place living story in there? It would mean so much for me and some of my guildies to feel like explorers again. It’s very needed feeling for us.

I totally agree with the reasons.
I stopped TQ even before completing a kill. It just took to much of my time.
I don’t even know when will I complete achievements for it cause noone goes there. It would be great if it salled properly, but getting organized 80+ people with top gear…

Yes, the worst thing that happened to the game and definitely worst world event.

I have to say I enjoyed other world event bufs, but this… Nope, Its horrible…

I would say we need fresh zones badly cause as much as I love the world right now and living story all those changes you make feel so unimportant.
At first you planned to expand maps in Flame and Frost but you stopped that and it makes it really boring to run all the same maps again and again.

7) Start making whole stories in Living Story. Stop only mentioning many things and then leaving them for months. Make story a whole and then next whole story, then make something on top of those stories. We get so many unclosed stories now it hurts so much and no real world lore progression.
We expect world loge progression… We know it’s easier this way, but really… There are people working on the story their should finally push it forward instead making us sit in the same spot all the time and run like dog trying to bite our own tail.

8) Get rid of Scarlet finally.
It’s tiering to see her all the time cause it will make more sense if we make some new LS somehow bound to previous ones… Destiny’s Edge should bound LS if nothing else comes to the mind. Not some half god twisted Sivari that we can see at each corner.

Guess Wars 2

The most painful thing for me is that we rarely see any finished story.

For now I see like 2:
- Dragon bash, cause we caught an enemy and jailed her.
- election, cause some came from that.

What else?
Nothing is known and nothing comes from i really.

The wost for me is enigma character – Scarlet.
It’s like jack-of-all trades. Whatever happens we can dump on her, cause she is so chaotic that see can do anything.

What about dragons?
- we don’t know, Dragons don’t care about the power that killed one of them…

What about dragon’s connection to human gods?
- we know almost nothing, except that there is one

What about other maps/continents?
- we are too busy siting on out b*ts to care

What about mighty orders?
- they also sit and do nothing

What about any started stories that were just dropped off?
- we will probably never get any info about it or it will be like Molten Alliance – after few months we got an info that scarlet made Dredge and Flame Legion work together… Nothing about how, why etc.

I really hate Scarlet character cause Living Story dumps it all on her, cause she is fiting everywhere. I’m sick of it. PLEASE KILL HER AND MOVE ON!!!!

The idea of the living story is that it’s a living story…Anet didn’t want to make it so people have to log in to follow the story. It was an intentional design decision so that people who came and went wouldn’t feel lost.

But you do have to log in to follow it. If you’re busy doing other things, in-game or out, you miss it. Forever. That’s crappy design.

So…last LS thing I did was the Karka Queen. Where do I go in-game to experience all that content I missed?

You can’t and you don’t have any NPC that tell the story about what you missed.

Also its not closed whole part like election that you would know "There wan an election and the outcome was that Elen Kiel is now in Capitan’s Council in LA ".

Its all parted whole story that should be way more encapsulated instead we get tens of hints that if you are lucky will ever be of any value.

Thats the real issue.
You can’t go back, you can’t get enough information and there is almost no outcome.
we get multiple threads that will never be fully finished in any way.

That frustrates people i know the most.
When you start finish something and then bound some stories on outcomes of finished stories, not partly started issues…

*I have a real issue with the lore and history in current Living Story

I like that world has it’s history but for now you tend to serve us a tiny bits of informations and getting few lines every month is like reading a book 2 pages a month.

You forget what is it about after 3-6 months. There should be some more feeling to it and it should be more compressed. So we can explore something and get some lore that is like finished and then we can add 1 story to another and make some bigger picture we explore.

Some can say we get that now, but we don’t. We don’t get any real informations.
Just like with molten alliance we newer got any information why it started and why are they still with scarlet. We only know that it happened due her influence.
AetherBlade pirates – We don’t even know what does that name stand for, we don’t know why they work with scarlet, we don’t know anything about her and her plans.

It’s great for developer so they can do anything with scarlet cause they didn’t defined good base for her character, she is an enigma so she can do whatever.

And it it really boring and frustrating. I gave almost up on getting into things and interest in the living story due to how we get story now.
Example: When I herd that Scarlet knows something about Caithie past I limitedly stopped myself to care for that information at all. Why? Because it probably will be like mentioned again 5+ months so getting excited about it of the story will only hurt us. All those little details in the story that was supposed to be interesting is really only boring and frustrating thanks to how much information we get and what all that leads to nothing really.

Now it feels like we are getting like 10 min show with big red info “to be continued next month or maybe later”. It’s no fun at least for me and my guildies.
We really cared for the story but you can’t like that.

I really hope instead of boring story something will finally come from dragons, cause they and they correlation to human gods and all gods in total is way more interesting than some enigma character that can be used in any patch cause she really can do everything. She is insane, right? So she can (even if she is not).

Dragons Story – Another thing the another thing that pains me.
Dragons that were supposed to attack everyone waked up a now they really do nothing. I mean we can see how big the world is in chantry of secrets so Tyria is really small and we have like 40% of Tyrias map, so YES, they can work somewhere else, but they were supposed to be in here. They were supposed to be expanding their lands and gather armies.
I really hopped something would happen anywhere: in Dragonbash… Nothing… Shaterer was not intimidated by seeing his image in the sky… Zephyr Sanctum came with the information that they are caring the will of Glint and I really hopped we will see Crystal Dragon soon…. Maybe some expedition directed to Crystal Desert… Nope that wont happen either, nothing significant wont happen…

Dragons just don’t care that we killed Zaithan (if we did it due the fight was not finished but I don’t care, he is dead for me until they revamp it and finish it properly).
We just defended against one six elder dragons (real strong enemy that can get land mases form the oceans floor) and that’s it, Another dragons don’t care, they have their own lives and if we are becoming stronger and are able to kill one of the that doesn’t bother them at all.

I would say not all of the story is this bad.
Dragonbash story was fun, election was fun. We played for 2 weeks or more and something changed, we got to know some NPCs stories, we got some outcome and something changed. It wasn’t some never ending story that we get server most of the time…

To sum things up.
I want to ask authors so they will start making whole stories, that change the world, not some enigmas that will lure us for months and make us feel like a dog ruining after our own tail. I’m really sick of feeling like whatever I do where is just nothing that changes, and I feel that after countless events around scarlet that really make me sick, cause it’s like: “lets to a living story with dungeon revamp”, “OK, how do we tie that to LS?”, “Scarlet was there, it will be good explanation.”

I’m sorry if I hurt someones feelings

I have to say that I’m really grateful that for last 2 releases we don’t get content that consumes all the time we have (like it was before).

I struggled for a long time and wrote about it countless times and now finally me and some guildies are able to just play the game for fun and not run after each achievement that will be gone after 2 weeks or a month.

It’s really great and I hope from now on most releases will be easy on time (like last 2) so people can just have fun and farm a bit. It’s great now and I hope people are playing constantly now.

Again, THANK YOU.

For a long time I waited and I want to mention it in here.

There are many of us who really wants to explore bigger world.
I know that it was a goal to make maps alive so we wont face ghost towns and it works quite nice. You probably will make few more tweaks to ensure that, but for now I would like to say: Please finish the maps you planned and started for first release.

I tried to take her 3 times and it’s always the same story. We can have like 60+ people and all we can get her is around 50%. It wouldnt be a problem if there wasn’t for time limit like 10min. Thats undoable now and thanks to that there is no way I can get my last boss achievement.
Anyone saw her die since boss buffing patch?
(and it wansn’t a really popular boss from the start caunse doing her is a pain)

IMO, GW2 doesn’t need that kind of progression. It needs a new class, maybe a new race, new weapons and skills for each current class and most importantly, new permanent content like the next dragon.

Karma nerf

well… you can also do dailies and get obsidian shards that way.
481 obsidian shards = 12 months of laurels. If you split the costs to buy obsidian shards between laurels and karma, that’s 6 months. legendaries are supposed to be legendary.
prices to buy legendaries should go up soon…

You forget that there are more things to use karma/laurels on. For people with multiple characters laurels are needed as obby shards for ascended so the nerf was way too much.

A little over a week after the change and I’m sitting at 100k karma from just world bosses and a few pre associated with them, and some non-farm WvW. I don’t think the nerf is as bad as you are all making it out to be.

That’s great, it really is. But simple arithmetic tells us …if that is true, you must play a lot.

And He is. This change wont impact people who play many hours a day. It will hurt casuals/peoples with families/peoples with live. That is why its so painfull.

I can go farming events, sure, but I want to spend time in Living Story, cause it progreses too fast and I want to play with my guildies also, but I’m limited on my time.

Living Story is Killing the rest of the game

The only people that is not having a problem with this updates are the ones with a lot of free time. I like to be part of the Living World but also think its taking too much of our time… I cant play the rest of the game.

That’s really true.
I heard that they will extend each living world update for a month, but each one will lunch still in every 2 weeks. So that doesn’t really help at all cause only some people need to take like 1-2 weeks off, but the amount of content at a time.

If I will go for 2 weeks I will have 2 weeks for 2 updates and still I won’t be able to do it and even if I do I won’t socialize with guildies cause I won’t have time for that. It’s all the same until they finally make really updates each month and maybe bug fixes od slight revamps on 2nd week. (I sure hope it will wstart from september, I really do but we will see soon and in next month, then I will start being happy.)

Ascended weapons

Anet won’t go back…but there’s still no gear barrier. I’m running all the same stuff I’ve always run on the gear I have. I don’t have an ascended weapon and probably won’t for a long time.

The numbers dont lie, ascended is a lot stronger than exotics and soon you will see the difference. It’s a matter of time before content will be scaled to ascneded adn you will have problems with things like Liandra or other stuff not to mention WvW where current change makes you loose 13% of dmg (and there will be more when armors will go out) so its a vast abyss between gear.

This Game Has Changed

There’s been an awful lot of talk about how this game has changed…much of it negative. And I can see where people are coming from. A lot of the changes in the game has made it less fun and more grind.

Too little fun, too much grind. Too much forced time consuming content in Living Story that stops people from enjoying WvW, PvP or even maps exploration. It should have been 1 update per month and it would be nice.
Daily and monthly achievements have co cap so Achievements have no meaning anymore, new crafting sucks all the money from your corpse and gem store wants more cash on transmutation crystals (and I used more than 50 on all my characters for exotics)

So in the end. It’s all work toward some distant goals that only money makers who rule on TP can get and normal players are leaving like my friends so I’m kinda next in line…

That changed in my experience of the game.

I agree….new content every 2 weeks is really impacting progress in the normal parts of the game. I could easily live with once a month updates rather than every 2 weeks. It’s getting to the point where I cringe when i hear of new content.

That really true. I cant even progress with maps or personal story for last 3 months. It’s all cause – Living story got so time consuming.

They should really make it a monthly release as it was inteded on the start but stic to how much content we get now.

I spend hours on gearing them with exotics, adjusting their look so they look really awesome. It took like 50 transmutation crystals to do it or maybe more and now…
Wait you can buy more of them cause soon you will have to redo all armors and weapons look cause there is a new tier.
For someone with 1-2 characters it’s not really a big deal, but I play at least 6 of my 9 lvl 80 characters and making them to the top level as they were is just too painful. You can say all you want that Ascended are only a little better than exotics but let’s face it someone already proven that with only trinkets and weapons one can have 13% more dmg and that is HUGE difference. So for a difficulty content you can only have one character to play it? It really sucks…
Vision of getting another 50 transmutation crystals also makes me mad cause I spend all those money so I would not have to change that again and now I don’t really know if it’s worth doing that again. You just made all my effort in playing preparing characters so… pointless. It sucks fun out of the game and even if the armors will come next year as you said I hesitate to finish armor on my last character (purely blue thief). It feels like I’m throwing money out on each transmutation and I don’t like the feeling.

AN IDEA: Maybe you can make it so after crafting 4-6 ascended items of 1 type (like weapons) you can craft go into recrafting system. It would be kind of ALT support system.
It would work like this: place your exotic (it’s soulbound so it will be in the bank and it will allow use it as an component), since it so you would get soulbound ascended item bound to the previous character (if hard to make Aound to account) and with look of the exotic, with the same stat combo as recrafted item but it would be ascended.
Recrafting should cost like 20% of mats at most and it should require making few (4-6) full ascended items so it wouldn’t be a cheap way for people without alts.

4. Stuck in between worlds.
As I mentioned before I played PvE, WvW and a bit of PvP. Now I don’t have time for that and now we will have also Season 1 to WvW and probably an another living story at the same time. That is REALLY frustrating. I just can’t choose what I want more, which achievement will be more important so in the end it will suck even more for me. That kind of frustration from GW2 update race made a lot of my friends stop playing and they don’t want to hear about coming back cause all they missed and experience of constant rush is a really painful experience that will hold them for a long time. In other word you are hurting your own players.
5. Alt support sucks a lot so you kill your own game variety.
Many of my friends have 3 or more alts. It’s not easy if you just play game to have that. I had some more time at the start so now I’m with 9 lvl 80 characters. I will mention also the yearly gift in here that many people were disappointed.
Basically you could have some kind of system to give something more for players that have real characters (lvl 80 and such), not mules that would get only free gifts. Getting 8 times the same mini that is BTA and unforgeable is just really pointless. Especially when in GW1 you gave us minis that made a mini market that was a great as I remember.
Finishing thought: Maybe you can make it so after crafting 5-6 ascended weapons you can craft theirs for like 10% of resources so you can gear 2 characters and next characters can have items for like almost free OR make recrafting system so place your exotic (soulbound so it will be hard or place it in bank and craft it from bank) so you would get soulbound ascended item bound to the previous character and with look of the exotic you recrafted?
Anyway I sure hope you will do something about it
6. A title with meaning is needed cause now title means almost nothing in this game and in GW1 it defined who you are since you introduced GWAMM. It’s a kind of end of the line for me. It all comes down to the frustration I feel for like last 2-3 months. really hope you will do something about it or at least give me some response. Sending to a full inbox means no one read that anymore so here is something that I will only hope will get someone’s attention. This is not of you guy to anser on, so please don’t.

For a long year I played GW2. I played GW1 and it “was” a lot of fun.
I care for this game and that is why when I raged in form (yes, too much) I turn to you as a kind of last resort before I quit the game and probably never some back.
Unfortunately lately I have less and less fun with the game. It’s not about being bored or live situation but about how you manage the progress in game.
GW1 was static and I never had a problem with playing cause it was easy to get into the end and then explore more and more or play PvP. It was a lot of fun.
GW2 was amazing. Rich world to explore, a lot of content that most skilled I enjoyed a lot. All lore you placed and I missed a lot of it also, but thanks to WoodenPotatos from YT I have known more and more.
It’s all great, it’s great to explore, think about what I WANT to do today and just do it.
Feeling many aspects of such a rich game is just wonderful.
Lately it became a real grind (and I don’t want to write in here how bad it is).
I want to point out some things that hurt me but also my guildies and friends that left the game.

1. Living story is too time consuming for 2 weeks content.
It frustrates many players as I read on forums and it’s totally true. For someone like me liking to explore everything 2 weeks is too little. Allowing content to stay for a month when next one starts after 2 weeks won’t help it, cause most players rushed to explore will just go on and a lot of stuff won’t be possible and even if it still was you will miss next update. I think that you forget that this is also a game for people who are older than 18 years and have families. We really enjoy playing and paying in game but we want to enjoy playing not boing on constant race. For me taking care of my family and work takes a lot of time and I just can’t have fun. I only go from 1 achievement to another and hope I will have time to finish all. It’s not fun at all.
I understand that tome people are bored, but let them long for next update, maybe design content to be more repeatable for those who are bored, but please make it easier on time base.
For last few months I can’t play WvW or PvP cause I’m so rushed by LS updates that there is no time for anything else and MANY people have the same problem. Think about it.
2. Achievement system leaks all the time.
The thing is that those who have many hours in each day get like great number of points each day, but that means nothing anymore. That 1 point per activity adds up and before you know they have thousands points ahead of players that go for Living Story, Jumping puzzles, maps, events and such.
There should be a cap to daily and monthly points earned (like 3000 points for daily and monthlies – it can be calculated if do it like that: your points – points from all achievements = daily + monthly points). It would finally make playing content instead of daily grind worth something. Now we have people who have like 6-7k points and they don’t know the game at all. It’s frustrating for quite some people if you don’t know.
3. Gear and economy are really broken.
Last update shows that the most, you made crafting so consuming that going from 400 to 500 costs nearly 200g and it is only for the chosen ones, cause I don’t have that money and general player base don’t have it either. So even if prices go down slowly the void between hardcore farmers that are reach and real players that want to achieve something in the game instead of farming or playing only TP has become even greater.
Remember that people firstly think about gearing then about experiencing content, so now instead of having fun great part of friends that left online are farming cause its soooooooo important and everything else is an addition. So now last update sucks for a lot of us even more.

You living story gaves peoploe no time to enjoy yhe world of the game. All achievements are so time consuming and the grind you introduced to the GW2 is really stupid.

For your info ANet many people already left due to frustration with Living Story Race and next time show us statistics how many people stopped playing istead of how many bought the game.

Actually, I want the Ascended gear out of this game :o That or they remove the extra stats compared to Exotics.

Pretty much this. The tier does more harm than good.

What hurts hame the most is Asceended being BTAccount and the number of mats you need to consume to craft to 500. That leveled prices to unreachable for normal players and thus mare ascended only for rich guys (mostly daily doing nothing except dailies and TP farming.

.5% damage increase to 13% damage increase or higher, the point is even if the increase is small it is indeed an increase. If you can do just a small amount more damage, even if it only effects a fight by killing something three seconds faster, you know that it aids in some way shape or form.

Thus which led to the example and the point that it makes, no matter how small an improvement, it is an improvement. So saying that it doesn’t matter is void.

This, this very thing, is what they do. They rush everything that is thrown at them and if obtaining an item or reaching a goal can’t be reached fast enough by standard terms they find an alternative means of getting it.

Time-gating was never going to stop anyone from getting the weapon in the first five days.

By that alone, people already had their Ascended weapons on day one when the patch went live.

People that stockpile materials and gold like people on an episode of Doomsday Preppers or sit in town and play Virtual Wall Street: Black Lion Trading Edition all day aren’t exactly the average player base. Is there anything wrong with people that do that? No. In a situation like this will they realistically obtain something faster than the rest of the player base because of it? Yes.

The target group you have turned your attention to will always surpass your expectations.

Every. Single. Time.

They don’t want just ‘one more tier’ with ‘slightly better stats’. They are content for the time being, until they finished the entire Ascended gear set then it’s back the square one; now they need a new tier of gear with higher stats so they can feel like they are accomplishing something.

That target group isn’t one you can realistically keep happy. They came to Guild Wars 2 and couldn’t wrap their mind around the fact that, once you hit the final tier you never have to worry about BIS gear again. They never had that before, many couldn’t handle it and their brains went in to meltdown and they rejected that very concept.

So…. What ARE you going to do now?

Some people like me are screaming all the time that average players are letf behind and in disadvantage all the time.
Ascended gear crafting made that even worse for those people, really.
Now those who were rich invested money and made much more and those who were poor now have even less cause they don’t even have equal gear not to mention money for transmutation or skins.

So many of my friends left. It wasn’t cause they were bored. It was all because they didn’t wanted to be rushed to do everything in 2 weeks, cause grind was too much for them and now it’s worse and I’m thinking about living also. Thank you ANet.
GW2 just turned from being nice to play game into some kind of race system in which if you stop for a day you will be left behind.

I’m more and more sick of it and what now?
If I stop playing after a month or few month I won’t probably ever come back cause I will know how much I missed and it will make me resign before I even start playing the game. (Just like I heard from friends).

What’s really fun is I actively play 6 of my 7 80s. Gearing them all with ascended, is going to take months. And can you imagine when ascended armor comes out? It’s going to take YEARS. I think this is incredibly unfair to people who play multiple characters.

I totaly agree.
I know the pain since I have 9 characters (8 important) and this change just killed my interest in playing.
Seriously after so much for gearing characters so many transmutatuin stones to make them look nice we get this… “GRIND AGAIN”

So I guess i will quit now or soon just like all my friends did cause rushing content.

There is just so much frustration thanks to the design of this game…

And still. after wall of text, millions of karma and nothing to use it on, problem not solved and new ones created.

And still even after directly asked, no suggestions on solving it. Makes you part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Those people have to want to solve the problem, but they don’t want to in my opinion. Maybe it’s just me, but the game goes from bad to worse, with updates rush, ascended grind and the way of forcing players to grind champions now.

I hate it and I won’t try to hide it. It’s boring and I left those grinds after few day/making achievements.

As said Colin said in interview, they want us to play like they want, not to seek our own way. This means “Just do what we tell you and after few months you will have something, we will decide how many months and what you will have, but remember to have fun with it or else…”

Now I can’t even play what I want cause I have like 2 weeks to get new content or will go away and when WvW season will come out I don’t even know where will I find time to play WvW and PvE, not to mention PvP that I left few months ago.

Just like legendary/ascended grind.

Yep, if you have 200g per crafting school to spare for now. That’s stupid and all this grind introduced to GW2 sucks now even more than before.
I sure hope they will lose players, cause most of my friends left thanks to that. There’s just that much people can take.

It’s already failed as that. How many grinders or rich players have at least 1 Ascended weapon already? Wow, it kept them busy for a whole week. This is the problem with adding new tiers of gear.

Sure, the grind is only hard for those who play normally, not even casuals. Those are in pain thanks to the game design/direction.

Make people even more in dissadvantage thanks to your way of thinking and in interview say that you want us to be equal and work together…

Given the current system the only chance to not go completely overboard with ascended is to add other, much more easier and still reliable ways to get them (which would make crafting them obsolete).

That’s what I fail to understand…
Why force people who want ascended for so much grind… It’s just not worth it and it made so many people disappointed. Instead of making game more fun more and more people I know say that they don’t want to play in this grind and gear matters a lot, not to mention all transmutation crystals that go to waste with ascended weapons (and armors after this) and I mean like 5-6 per character on 8 characters that I care for (1 per each class). That really disappoints me a lot.

3. Killing game variety
I love playing many tactics and styles. I have 8 classes characters on lvl 80. It is just impossible to gear them. Just impossible. No real help from ANet for people who like me love to have many characters. We should all stick to 1 maybe 2 characters and gear those cause you can’t have all, when you go where gear matters: WvW, Dungeons, Fractals etc you can only go as best geared character.
People who like variety will have even more painful grind.
Great way of designing a game.
And al, it would take is to make a system when you pay a lot for unlocking gear type and then you could get gear for all alts.

4. Achievement rush
There is no cap on daily/monthly achievements so using game variety is a waste of time.
There are people who farm achievements and spend hours on that only to be on the leaderboard. With all there is in dailies/monthlies/each too fast coming update people are just in another race.
I can get 5 achievements by having legendary, making few paths in dungeon or just making daily grind that sucks your soul out with saying “please repeat me each day”.
(I will add in here that other repeatable achievements have achievement limits)
So don’t bother in dungeons or anything else, just do your daily and ANet can say that their yearly statistics are so great…
Another flaw that no one want to correct despite forum threads.

In the end despite the assurance that important people in ANet read player thoughts about the game I don’t quite believe that, or just they threat players in forum like great minority and just do what they want looking only on some great looking statistics.
But I hope eventually people will break free from this race and leave game even more.
Please show statistics how many players left the game from whose who bought it next year.

We are in a race it’s for people who liked GW2 and they are invested in it and its hard to stop when you are into something.
ANet uses that to force players to play by setting a rat race for us. There are 4 aspects of it.
Yes, I know there are other threads about this. This is to sum things up and by the number of threads maybe ANet will finally see that people have reasons to be disappointed in the way game is going.

If you don’t like what I write it’s not for you so leave and don’t leave any comment like another grind thread or something. It’s for those who still want to feel fun while playing GW2.

1. Content rush
By the time you finish one content you are hit with another.
There is so much in PvE that you don’t have time for WvW or PvP and in there things are changing way too fast.
ANet is still living in the past and remembering people who were saying this game has nothing to offer and that is why now they don’t want to stop releasing content but make a flood of content that you can only experience if you have no live. For people who enjoy playing and experiencing what they make it really in a pain, but is anyone listening all previous posts?
No, they went into a high speed train and no one wants to listen those who are left behind. All make people stop complaining that GW2 is boring and there is nothing to do. So no one wants to listen other opinions, but guess what… There are way more people who I know who quit cause they just don’t have time to play it and it frustrates them.
At start there was a lot of fun, updates didn’t consume all your time but now? You have to have several or more hours each week to do at least meta not to mention all things from updates.
Sure, some have so much time and don’t have lives that they can stay online 80h a week and they feel bored, but why is this game designers only listening only those people?
We get each update with more and more time consuming content but even if the update is on for a month after 2 weeks get another time consuming content.
Great work… Now you can try to finish 2 updates in 2 weeks? Often it looks like pavilion after Invasion update. There were only few people who were doing Gautlet left in there. No one was willing to do any pavilion achievements anymore.

2. Gear rush
You get ascended gear now and that is similar grind like legendary gear and guess what. They already said they will release all legendary gear not only weapons, so think that you will have grind years to make your character in best gear.
They say that’s not important but that’s not true cause there already is great difference between people with all exotic and exotics with ascended items. It can be tested in WvW. There is a lot in there, but for some reason you can’t be scaled up to have the same stats so ascended isn’t only for prestige and some distant goal to work on, it’s to make a difference in force.
This post describes this the best:

13% gets multiplied when those small attacks from a zerg start impacting you.
You can down your target faster allowing you to be more useful to your zerg or get killed 13% faster and be a liability to your zerg. When Ascended Armor gets added to the mix now people have higher toughness and vitality thresholds for you to overcome in your yellows or oranges. If your zerg can’t overcome this threshold you will lose the war of attrition.
Ask any WvW commander if they would rather lead a zerg of 40 people in full exotics against an equally skilled and classed zerg of 40 people in fully optimized Ascended gear.

It’s really poor considering GW1 ideology to have highest stats easy and there was only a matter of skills and player skill when it came to fight between players. That was so much more fun.

I honestly don’t have a problem with it, to some degree.

What I hate and don’t agree with, is leaking the information, some people don’t like surprises ruined.

So keep the found information to yourselves.

this, if people wouldn’t leak them they wouldn’t need to hide them.
Those who still can’t wait for more informations can learn to mine for themselves

Some of us like to know and we have fun in discovering some stuff, that is why check for data maining, look dev deasers before patch and such.

I think there is, but asside from that the ida is to give you a reason to spend time in various activities (not like totaly nerfed daily) and at the same time show people that you are expirienced in a way.

There can be even more hardcore stuff at higher tiers and thats fine, peple will see even more reason to to for them.

What I postad is an idea it cam be made a lot harder or easier, but the idea worked in GW1 so good its a shame it’s not in GW2. I sure hope to finally see a reason in titles…

I am maybe 300,000+ karma short or who knows how much I need because of that RNG on clovers. After spending 500,000+ karma on a full stack of Obsidian Shards i only got 40 clovers. What if I or other players like me don’t want to farm events for karma, where are we suppose to get those thousands of karma now? You guys placed those jugs on daily achievements for good reasons, now your undoing it. What happened to “play how you want it when you want it???”

Thats another problem but a lot of karma made it so you could cry only for ectos that you use.
Now… Well you get even more frustrated for each unlucky try…

I’m pretty sure better karma rewards will be introduced(stated by devs…I think they were devs, they had one of those red things on their post) and it was just way way to easy to get karma to make those rewards actually meaningful.

Not saying I agree with the nerf, just saying that people don’t need to be blowing things out of proportion like happens with other stuff in these forums.

Well better ways… Then what is a better way to make dailies interesting? Cause I don’t see it from adding a little luck essence in the reward.

In retrospect, it’s not surprising they did this. Multiple forum posts about having more karma than needed. People not going out in the world and doing events, which is needed to make the game feel populated. People deliberately failing events. People buying large numbers of Orrian boxes to make money and being able to recoup the karma in a short time, instead of it being an occasional purchase. You add all this together, and it’s not surprising they nerfed karma gain.

But that was solved with orrian boxes. Karma was tradable to gold in some way and people were happy with it and stopped complaining.

So if they want to nerf karma, nerf rewards or make some more expensive if you don’t want to give advantage to some players, but come on!!…

I can see the need for a karma nerf but theyve gone way too far. The armours you get at Temples weren’t supposed to be cheap ways to get exotics but prestigious cosmetic stuff, and they along with most karma items got turned into basically cheap exotics/rares because karma was so easy to get that people were dripping out of their ears with them ( I got 1m karma in a month of casual play).

1m karma is for armor and trinkets from temples.
All players I know farmed karma and those weren’t prestigious, those were first exotics you had before getting others. And unique for guardian and necro builds for those that don’t play WvW to buy items for badges.

That was the way to get items so after 1 month of playing you were geared in exotics and you could play any dungeons or whatever you wanted.

Remember that temple items aren’t that great in stats, most people don’t consider them for other classes at all.

As for the prestigious looks… Please really… It’s like saying that getting CoF set when people were farming it was prestigious. For me seeing 1/3 of LA dressed in that meant that they don’t have gold/gems for transmutation stones to do something about the look and only few people really liked the look.

Over all the way that people could gear in exotics in 1 month was great. Now mew players or alt characters just can’t do it and that’s not something that anyone would enjoy. I for sure don’t.

Obby shards for ascended and legendaries (especially legendaries when you tend to use like 1,5 stack on clovers is really nerfed so bad also.

In the end I don’t even know how they are thinking cutting karma in 1/11.
It’s such a bad move…

I suspect they want to try to get people out in the world, doing DEs and whatever else pays with karma rather than relying on the jugs. And there were all those posts from people complaining they had so much karma and so little to buy with it.

Those people use RNG boxes for a long time and they have all they want. Thats the way it was for a long time.

I con only guess they want to make getting obby shards for crafting ascended items harder, but they shoudl increase their numbers instead of cutting karma…

1. Completing at least 3 personal story (race part)

15 points title needs:
1. Completing at least 2 personal story (order part)

2. Completing dungeon master title.
And 3 from optional list (not counted for lover tier – 12 in total)
Etc…

Those are my propositions for “Must to have list” categories:
- getting at least 5 races story completed
- getting all 3 orders story done
- killed Zaithan
- getting dungenmaster title
- getting all bosses category titles done
- 4th rank in PvP done
- taking castle 5 times,
- taking garrison 10 times
- taking tower 20 times
- taking camp 50 times.

Those are my propositions for “optional” categories:
- getting grandmaster crafter title (all to 500)
- getting at least 1 mini collection title compleeted
- getting 90% of fractal achievements
- getting at least 1 mini game achievments compleeted
- active guild member title done
- no one left bahind title done
- teamwork gets it done title done
- all you can eat title done
- thirst slayer title done
- golden title done
- 500 hearts done
- 5000 events done
- 1000 skill points earned
- 90% of jumping puzzles done
- 90% of slayer titles done
- 90% of weaponmaster titles done
- 1 culture armor achievment done
- something from WvW but on an logical number since current achievments need real rework.
- half of current living stories metas done
- 12 monthlies done

At the beginning achievement points but due the fact you get those for dailies and monthlies there is just nothing but grind on leaderboards for those points and despite ANet efforts those are only for some shining trinkets that I love, but seriously those done mean a thing in the end to impress anyone or you can’t really tell if anyone knows the game at all when you look at them.

In GW1 there was meta achievement for that and it gave you a title each time you completed to the end each 5 titles that weren’t really easy to get. I looked at someone’s title and I knew hoe experienced they were.

I look on titles in GW2 and I see GWAMM, HoM titles, Golden, Ommnioative and such but that doesn’t really tell a thing. Even achievement point titles don’t really tell a thing about you. You can have 5k or event 10k achievements (if not yet then very soon) and be total noob in dungeons, PvP, WvW, jumping puzzles, map exploration and such, but they grind achievments or dailies and that’s very common now that people with more than 5k achivment points don’t have a clue about many stuff in the game.

We basically need some kind of conqueror title that would touch almost all possible categories of the game in many points and after completing 5 of those points you would progress with your title and that would be something to show as your title.
BUT there should be some must to have and others that are optional to progress at each title.

For each 5 points you get a title that you can show to others so they know that you have some bases and it would give a lot more into status of your character.

Karma nerf

For a long time we had a lot of karma and it was good. People had so many they needed conversion by Orrian boxes so we could make some gold from it.
Yet there was another great thing about it.
Orrian temples armors which had some hard to get stat combos like prec/though/con.dmg or power/vit/though were in there.

Now after the nerf we just have to grind karma through events for many hours cause there is no way one can spend months waiting for an armor (and you could get one after like 1 month of dailies with monthly before) good way getting karma for those 2 combos that are great on necro and guardian and they can’t be crafted.

Also doing all daily for a 600 karma (less than 1/10 of jug which is like ~6500) is a joke compared to getting the same amount in mini-games that is accurate for them. No karma in at end of a dungeon and champ boxes. Karma nerf hurts even more in doing dailies when you don’t really need laurels anymore. Daily just loses almost all meaning.

I have to say that was a terible move…

For a long time people were talking about stuff that was mined from next updates and some leaks like those from PAX, information where were maps that you worked on in beta and such. You have done really good work on hiding things from those players who enjoyed searching stuff leaks.
We had so much fun with it and with your work you just killed some fun from playing that we had for so long…
You can’t say it’s unfair in any way that we knew some things will happen cause we had to earn that knowledge just like average player spends their time playing, farming speculating on TP, some of us just love data mining or read about mined data and that is a part of that we do with our time and we count that as playing and having fun.
So don’t kill our fun… Please.

I do agree that this would be a fun addition to WvW. Maybe give it an achievement and title as well?

I wonder wether this will be a:

‘’kneel @ target player and set on fire after 1 / 1.5 secs’’

or a more instant:

‘’press ’’F’’ to burn this invader’s remains’’ and then you’d just be able to spamm it for title progress or anything else after clearing a zerg.

I think the first option is best since it allows multiple people fair chances at burning corpses. We should be able to share our enemies’ corpses, not just claim them all for ourselves!

Well, all not thinking monster like creatures can become pets.
I would love to see mor of them (also with even dragom ninions – maybe after some querst when you break the bond betweent them and their master).

Anyway I really want more pets.
