Ghosts, well those are kind of souls so that would not be possible just like having bandint as a pet.

I don’t get it. Why em I forced to go to fights with the same character that I run Pavilion with.
I like runing with guardian pavilion, but I want my fights to be done with my ranger that is fully geared. So I’m forced to run with ranger all events below instead to allow my guardian get levels and rewards and he could pass all his over 100 invitations to my ranger.

Can you please fix this soon. I would really want to participate in Gautlet, but I kinda hate being forced tu do pavilion with my ranger :/.

It would be nice, but the shop would loose too much moeny on that si I think it wont happen. People would not buy any skins if they know they will recive it over time, so its best that skins get into achivment system and others are for gems.

Also I would mention that many people won’t buy skins from TP because they are expensive, so it makes them more rare and that is really nice. Im sicn of people runing with zenith weapons all over game with CoF sets – you know what I mean.

I bought all tools for my 8 characters and I was glad. but I wont buy this Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic , cause its wasted effort since you have to pay additionally for any salvage you make. Sorry its not worth it.
Also chances to get rare components are very low and sigil runes are none…
Sorry, I would pay for it at most 100 gems when I have to feed it with copper each salvage.

There have been players asking for a JP specific title for a long time now, and of course it’s not that easy to decide how many of them should be included in it.

Quite easy, all needs to be done for the title. They arent that hard.
And YES, we need this meta achievment.

I disagree. The hard part of map completion are hearts/vistas/WvW maps/PoI, unlock waypoints is the easiest part.

If you want to spend few gold you could be a very little bit quicker, but over all it would not be OP and it would give people with alts a way to participart with guild missions by any character once one of their characters mawe 100% map.

Growing world instead of living world

Please read till the end before answering.
I have a big issue with the way Living World works.
It was fun to see changes in flame and frost. Revamps on Shiverpeaks and Ascalon locations it was fun. All said its boring for a month release but still was fun.
When we started to get RUSHING content it makes me kinda mad since ANet is forcing me to play periodically. I have to get more time every 2 weeks to do something before it goes away?
That’s stupid, but I guess it will work like addiction for most ppl who spend a lot of time in GW2. I love that they are making stuff every month but why take it all after 1 month or 2 weeks?!
Let’s face it. We are getting nothing that makes Tyria bigger. Only some scraps.
They made new map for Bazar (small, but VERY! nice) and we won’t have a reason to go in there after it ends. Cause there will be nothing to it.
The same happened with Southsun Cove.
Why? Cause those aren’t added to world map. They aren’t placing hearts there, there is not chest reward at the end, Vistas and all that it would make people want to visit it with every (or most) character and do it.
We are still stucked with barely breathing world when we could have living expanding world.

Imagine we could get every 2-4 month a new map, with a living story and after Living world ended it would change to explorable map. The world could expand (expansion could add some other maps or preferred go for Cantha world map like so many people hope for). Please don’t tell me it’s a lot more work than it already is, cause I’m not buying this.
ANet has the potential and it was showed already by making great dungeons like MF and AR (why aren’t they in fractals or just in world map so that people could play them again without achievements after Living story?), great JP like No so secret…, great maps like Bazar map, great story and cinematics like for Dragon festival investigation.
BIT ITS ALL WASTED for the concept of exclusiveness that more and more people are sic with.
The problem is only that ANet is wasting resources and that is why people are bored. If world expanded people who stopped playing would came back after a month or few and witnessed that they have very much to do even, if they missed actual Living story somewhere there is this 1 or 2 maps you can go into and have fun, it would make them play a lot, believe me I know that! Instead we have ALMOST NOTHING after each Living Story despite what they said we will have.
ANet said they wanted to make something out of Southsun, yet they only gave us some hard events with no equal to reward and nothing else happened with the map. Adding few walls and buildings wasn’t that hard. What else left? Nice metaevent that is undoable by people now when most just went away?
Why didn’t you made it world map? Only hearts and few more secure areas across map are missing. Difficulty would need to be lessened (only a bit) and we would have a quite nice map what should have some people by most of the time like on others world maps. Instead we have a dead map, that no one wants to go into except of farming passions flowers. Really, making like 2-3 Vistas and around 8 hearts would make it nice lvl 80 explorable map.

About wasted potential again.
Imagine how hard would it be to add 5 hearts/3 POIs/1 Vista for 1 or map each month to make people go in there and explore instead of FORCING us do obsidian sanctum and other jumping puzzles again and again (and yes thinking about it makes me SO MAD!!!) I made them already so long ago. Just stop it already!
Running around for kites, pirate boxes and such is no fun at all and you just could do a lot better without forcing people to redo all those JP when you don’t even give us title for completing them all.
On the other hand scavenger hunt for sky crystals was great. Why? Because it was new, just like going with Lion’s Arch founder and not some very stupid revamp on JPs. I bet making LA scavenger hunt didn’t took too long and it was still fun not to mention story scavenger hunt for 5 more suspects. Forcing me to redo JP that I did are no fun at all. Jumping Puzzles are fun the way they are, so please stop messing with them.
In the end I don’t want to so pessimistic. I really appreciate all the good work you make, but its still so much misguided. The world needs to expand and believe me everybody wanted it when we gear about living world, yet living is not only breathing (as it is now) it’s expanding and learning new things (well new things are on nice level), visiting new places, meeting new people and getting more and more to do. Not some mini games (which are nice anyway), but that is not what people want. We all just want A LOT permanent content especially more new maps.

So if anything, I’d ask for an additional 50 point title that’s more appropriate for ALL the races, not just the humans. Beyond that, a second armor skin set for points 31-50 would be great.

I totally agree.
Getting achievement points it just stupid since you can get infinite amount just doing all the stuff for day/month, which is stupid anyway.
It would be best to get some skins, since that is what shows up in the game the most.

GWAMM? Don’t make me laugh, that was one of easiest things I have done for HoM, so noone is showing off with the title, since most ppl want for 30-35 points + GWAMM. Getting above 40 points and till 50 was a challenge and most ppl just didn’t do it.

Co like legendary is noticeable, HoM should have very noticeable skins above 40 points, since that would mean anything.

I don’t think the living story dungeons should stay but instead we should get a new dungeon that uses the ideas that has been tested in living stories.

HoM as Guild Hall

Well IMO as the map is already there and accessible. Then why not firstly add a waypoint there, as it’s annoying having to carry the stone around with you. Secondly (and here is the exciting part), make HoM a Guild Hall, where you’re guild has to work on rebuilding the place (much like upgrades in WvW).

Basically how it would work is items are added to the game, these items are special items that are collected by a Certain NPC within the HoM. Naturally the upgrades will cost these items to fix the hole in the floor, restore the scrying pool, re-open the Xunlai chest for additional storage space for the guild. The adding in a Trading NPC for the TP, crafting stations and other such wonders.

Lets elaborate on this!

+1 I like this idea. Its one of few I read for now, but possible and easy one so I wouldnt mind it ANet did it.

I wonder if we will soon have players addicted to RNG, just like we have players addicted to farming, claiming it’s a good thing. One design is as bad as the other, and both have been set in place to milk money from players, not to make good games.

You have no idea what it took to craft obby in GW1 right? Legendary are a cheap joke in comparison.

I do. I have it. I have completed HoM (50/50) and I’m proud of it and it was rewarding for me.
GW2 seems to be off with a different ideology. It should introduce less grind as they said and now it’s kind of Grind Wars 2. I personally like to grind something but it’s all ppl do all the time and it’s really hard to find ppl who play for fun or want to help you lately. Living story has their issues with that (read my other thread) so I would love to see more about playing (like xp to gold conversion and cuts to farming not event based but system based like in my thread) so people would finally go to all zones not only few event farms (and meta events farms) and some in dungeons (especially CoF) zones.

You can guest around to different servers to find one that might be a better fit. Remember, if you delete all your characters to transfer at no cost, to put everything non-soulbound in your bank, as it will transfer with you. Also, keep in mind that transfers have a 7-day cooldown. Best of luck! =)

Basically you choose serwer for WvW.
PvE is a matter of guesting and finding ppl to play with in that server.
Recently guilds don’t work the way they should, cause half of ppl are bored and almost left, coming back for events and once a week and the other part goes for grindfest. And don’t have time to play maps or other stuff. So in the end I socialize more with ppl that are currently on the map than with any group/guild I’m in.
In the end servers are partly died out cause there is no motivation to explore anymore.
And the is no solutions like those implemented:

They should be craftable, and extremely expensive.

They should consume time not gold cause everyone will just go for easy grind. It’s better to make it similar to laurels system. More like log in daily to get something/do something not grind your way through CoF P1 or flipping to be the one who have it all without really playing the game (cause farming is not playing it’s offensive to normal playing the game).
It should be challenging as well. At least a bit. Like you need to do some hard dungeon like Molten Factory and get some 3 parts from there and get some laurels and in living story time you can get some part always in daily to make an item. In the end you can add few crafting materials in normal quantity – like 10 or 25 of them instead 250 all the way…

The Clone Stone

That’s a nice idea, but I think both the items (the original and the clone) should become account bound instead. That way, you would be able to use the skin in multiple characters, but wouldn’t be able to pass it to someone else. Otherwise, people would be able to lend, let’s say, Infinite Light to all their friends and still sell it (to someone that would lend it to a bunch of people, too). A lot of people in the game would end up having the skin and the price would plummet. Now, imagine that happening to every single skin in the game (but legendaries). In a game that is all about aesthetics, something like that shouldn’t happen.

Yeah, bound is nessecary if this does happen, i personally think its a great idea and all, but if all dungeon skins etc is sellable, it would be not worth it to enter a dungeon beside CoF p1. I agree on thakittens still fun, thoug we are still going to have that idea that the only thing we get out of entering a dungeon is going to be that it is only the money, nothing else, since we can buy the skins.

It may be in ruin but unlike 99.9% of the rest of the game, it is still very recognizable as something from the past. I wish Anet had done more of this.

Well I think a lot is recognizable, some changes are made etc. I love going be Ascalon, and see ruins of the great wall hunted with ghosts.
It makes me feel nostalgic and nice.
I also would like HoM and a lot more of things from the past shown

First I would like to say, that I LOVE THE IDEA!
I watched it few times and still love the cut scene.
After few hours I asked myself “why only cut scene?”
Here is something I would love to see done to the item:

  • Add dialog with 4 options:
    - redo 1st dungeon
    - see cut scene
    - redo 2nd dungeon
    - redo 3rd dungeon
  • Add option to skip cut scene (if you clicked it by mistake you have to watch it)
  • Add journal’s collectable tab
  • Allow dungeons to be done with at least 2 people (like story mode)
    - Let’s say that in few months some friends of your start of come back to the game. You can then invite them to party and say – there was this event and it was awesome, you want to see it? I can invite you to party and you will be able to see it again. (no rewards of course)

I would also want to see similar journals with options just as I marked them for: Flame and Frost Journal (Rox mission, Brahm mission and Molten Factory) and Southsun Cove Journal (Canach fight, Null Fight, Escort mission).
You can even do it to SAB, but I would prefer it to be permanent piece of content next time it launches.

Of course when both are sheathed, you still see both.

And how would that work if both your weapon sets occupy the same “slots”? i.e. scepter/focus and sword/pistol?

Easily,

  • You have one of them (currently selected) while you have none in hands
  • while you have one out you see the other set
  • if you change them they just switch places
  • If they are in separate slots you see both all the time.

It’s more like look, role-play feature, but I would like it.

In the other hand tickets should just be sold in gem store, just as there were weapons while Winterdays.
If someone wants it that badly let ppl convert gold for gems, it helps game also by making gem to gold conversion more profitable for ppl with real live money.

There are a lot of ppl like me that hate RNG and won’t but any of that !@#$% just because it’s an RNG. So ANet and NCsoft would make more money on normal ticket sells anyway if skins would look nice, like they do recently (I really didn’t liked wintersdays weapons skins so I bought none).

More Town Clothes? Please

Personally I don’t like town cloths so I would say it’s a good step not to waste any more graphics time or developers time to make new ones since I never buy them, none of my friends bought even one and I rarely see anyone in town cloths aside from someone is playing with raiding broom or drill toy.
So in the end I just don’t think we need any mor cloths.

Bringing back armor is more difficult because the artists would have to adapt the artwork to charr and asura body types. This takes time and costs resources that could also be spent making new items and content.

That’s not to say I don’t want Obsidian armor art making a return. In fact, I would love to have the armor back, especially the elementalist and mesmer armor.

Really, REALLY?
In reality it’s a lot less work than making new ones and you have all graphics, even 3D models, resizing some parts and adapting them to new characters is really easy. Even if they had to remake 3D models from scratch (that I don’t believe is the case) it would still take a lot less time. Instead they do a lot of other stuff not listening what pp say about GW1 armors and try to feed us up with more RNG weapon skins that more and more ppl just don’t want just because they are in RNG not like they should be – tickets bought in gem store.
Just look on current armors, they aren’t changed, they are just resized. It takes a lot less time than you might think and ppl ask for GW1 armors like forever.
Ever since GW2 launched ppl saw gem store armors with and thought they will get rest of their favorite armors soon and we have NONE in 10 months!

The idea is nice, but I think that idea won’t work without some additions
For example:

Freshing up the zones Is great idea, but most ppl need to feel they have something to do in there aside from waiting for an event. There should be changes possibly new temporal hearts (that don’t count for map completion), but in the end ppl have to have something to do different than running around and collecting some parts of telescopes (which was kind of nice at first, but in the end boring cause it was too long in there).

So I was thinking maybe ArenaNet could tie all of our Personal Story missions together as replayable content once we’re finished with the final step in our personal story. The Scrying Pool in GW2 may be flooded, but I’m sure it may still work

What is great and bad in Living Story.

I want to say I love the story mode in Dragon bash and I wanted to thank you all for what you just made. I waited so long for something like that.
Strong points:

  • Drawn movie again,
  • nice story (so far as after 2nd day) and much better character personalities,
  • Variety and freshness and not only fighting. Scanning ppl – great fun, defending wagon was also nice, so much better than going and killing all the time. Some hunting is nice also.
  • Movies and good dialogs makes you emotionally bound to characters and you just want to see what will they do next.
  • Ability (as I understand) to do instances for a loner time than just few days. That’s important cause not everyone can play on daily bases.
    I would like to add a little complains also:
  • Stories should be multi personal like character story mode
  • It would be nice if they could be repeatable (without reward, just for fun)
  • You should make repeatable missions like Brahms defending village for daily activities, it adds more variety to daily playing for some ppl. I personally liked it a lot (and a lot more than raiding sonic turrets daily).

Last one is something I would love to see from you guys:

  • Please design long term dungeons (similar to Molten Factory) that are challenging and would add up to dungeons numbers in game (and dungeon master achievement). Possibly rename “Dungeon Master” to “Dungeon Master (old)” until you reclaim full title by doing new dungeons.

Now I have a feeling (1st time since 2 months) that you are going in good direction.
I hope you can divide content in Living story into episoded story (like Dragon Bash story) and repeatable dungeon like instanced content (like what you gave us in Flame and Frost – Brahm and Rox instance missions and Molten Factory).
What do you think guys?

We have been getting WvW exp for ~3 months. In that time, I have played at least 2-3 hours a day average, and I have 65 points. That is not enough points to complete a single line of one of the lowest cost abilities. At this rate, it will be several years to complete the Supply line.

It is unrealistic to say “play more”. I’m already horribly angry that WvW points are limited to character – I simply can’t play an alt and feel that I’m contributing to the maximum. So not only are we pigeon-holed into a specific Class, we are also forced into a specific role.

So true. WXP should be gained for all characters and distributed per character.
Also I agree that rate is so poor it made me also quit playing WvW.

So you’d be onboard with an event based story in the open world then? Zones changing with the progress of your personal/living story? As I said anet have a few (VERY FEW) events in the open world triggered via your progress in the Personal Story, would you be happy to have such events be the focus of the story ratehr then the instanced zones, or would it feel less personal?

  • I would love to make zones more personal. It is hard to do, but I liked a lot the way Flame and frost went. It was just too long in first 2 months, but changes were great.
  • The best parts are stories in my case so last updates in Dragon Bash stories are just awesome for me.
  • Also again I would say that living stories should have more group permanent content like dungeons
  • Also missions you can do with 1-5 ppl that are repeatable like in Flame and Frost
  • Meta events and such like in Southsun can be added, but I wouldn’t focus ppl in going after event farming again.

Thats true. Those items make a lot of money and due the gold→gem conversion are perfect gold sink. In other words they are designed to by souldound and that is the way it should be.
