I guess the next question is, what is to be delayed till further notice next?

  • WvW is basically dead, needing a reboot.
  • Some professions with the basic trait lines need reworked (or even all)
  • Bugs
  • Dungeons needing loot redone
  • Fractals needing improvements
  • PvP balance and matchmaking system
  • (insert anything I missed here)

It really just sounds like resources need to be gathered up and redistributed better, because yeah, the current systems aren’t doing so well

You want something constructive? Take note of what people do, as in what is still fun so many years after release. The two biggest point of GW2 were zone designs (not the heart quests though) and the awesome zone events, made even better when you streamlined how the event worked with timers and all. Those two things kept most of your active players happy. You created a ton of fun zone events but you stuck them in Living Story season 1, and they were all lost, it’s a shame.

Then you changed the recipe, you made Season 2 more of a solo experience, something this game needed, so that was good.

But the one thing you forgot was what people mostly do: zone events. At peak time, nearly all servers, even those on medium pop servers manage to create overflow, how about that? And what did you do in HoT? You ruined that and created a terrible, terrible mess. You created that convulsed mess of timed events that are just unfun. Why couldn’t it be simpler like the good ol’ events? Let us experience the zones without having to grind mobs for 90 minutes to maybe, finally, unlock that last or whatever you’re looking for.

Also dungeons are pretty cool, lots of people love to do those, nice way of getting armor sets and weapons, cool skins too, what happened to those? Fractals are alright, but dungeons were more fun.

So yeah, I’d say the first step is redesigning those HoT zones, make them feel like home, like GW2, like places you can actually go through, with awesome events like Shadow Behemot/Fire Elemental/etc…

I wouldn’t go as far to say those events are “awesome”….

But really, I don’t know (or do if it deals with trying to stop being from completing stuff too fast and slow income) why they strayed from the Silverwaste’s concept of map events.

It felt fun to me. While the attacks on the forts were on a timer, upgrading and defending meant that you achieve the major event sooner. Which, was great! The players worked together better to proc the event. And if you didn’t work well together, then it progressed slowly or not at all.

Basically, the players were more in control, and I liked it

Has anybody noticed how none of the people defending this because “it makes sense to focus on LS content” keep ignoring the fact that there are people developing a new expansion when they haven’t even finished this one that came out 6 months ago and are starting to cut features?

They prob care more about LS and the content in new expansions then about the terrible grind that these new legendaries are. I know I do.

Pretty much this.

Also, while I initially started out sympathetic to the people upset over this info I’m finding myself less so the more some of these criticisms devolve in to tantrums. People can express their disapproval without sounding like that awkward child that’s always screaming in the toy aisle. Keep it classy and some people are. Pretty soon I’m going to have to change in my signature which meltdown I survived. If I survive this one.

How is this legal?.

Eh, I don’t know, I still think the Ascended gear introduction was still the worse. But yes, lets try to show our displeasure in a better manner

In the past we wouldn’t hear about this until months after the decision was made and devs were moved. Now they are trying to tell us they bit off way more than they can chew, because they decided they wanted this legendary journey for the new legendary pre-cursors and now realize it’s taking WAY more time, which is the primary resource in software development, and make the hard decision to shift those resources to other aspects which is likely also taking more time than expected.

If you haven’t figured, developers don’t apply the Scotty rule when guesstimating the time required to do X. Maybe they thought once they figured out the first couple the remaining “journeys” would be quicker to do. But whatever the reason they are telling us NOW and the reasoning behind it instead of players asking “what ever happen to …” 6 to 9 months down the road. And ANet IIRC doesn’t encourage death marches to meet deadlines.

ANet can’t win for losing. If they keep quiet until they are sure they have something to deliver, we complain about the communications black out. If they tell us upfront as they pivot resources because they need to get content for a wider player base done, we throw a fit.

Either way, it’ll be done when it’s done. It’s not canceled, just delayed.

Exactly.

Though its news we didn’t want to hear, at least we were told it. I’m hoping that despite the negativity being dished out, communication isn’t cut as well.

Apparently I’m playing a Blizzard game now.

I won’t rant and bash for 3 paragraphs because frankly I think it was a “good” decision if it actually yields a positive result in terms of living story release time. I was severely annoyed that it was going to take so long to get the new living story season out, especially when raids are getting so much attention and I’ve yet to actually actively try to get through a genuine wing run.

I’m happy for the communication but I have to agree with some of the people above that it seems a little odd that you’re moving 6 devs that couldn’t finish more than one legendary in 6 months to speed up a living season update that is much larger than a weapon and quest chain. We haven’t seen the chain so it may be really interesting and a better way of obtaining legendaries than the collection system, but only one? And this team is supposed to boost living story production enough that it’s worth sacrificing advertised content?

After obtaining HOPE I’m in no hurry to obtain another legendary, so again, it isn’t a huge deal to me, it just seems a little nonsensical to move 6 devs from current already paid for content vs. Gem Store items or an expansion that may still be 2 or more years away. I don’t mind having a large team working on the next expansion, but would it really halt the process of making the expansion that much to move a few devs from there to work on the living story instead? It just seems like the priorities are a little shallow and the transparency also comes with a jarring epiphany that you’re more concerned about pushing out gem store items and another $100 dollar expansion quickly than current expansion content and living story.

I don’t know. It’s not a huge deal to me but it’s still a little surprising to hear how resources are being allocated and where priorities seem to be given the current state of the game and already lackluster amount of content. Again, I guess most of us got spoiled with the 2 week updates oh so long ago that we aren’t used to this new business model.

I do hope for the sake of the community that this living story 3 will be the best and biggest one to date with multiple new maps and story arcs.

Also hope this expansion in progress isn’t so dismally far away that the resources that are being allocated to it aren’t being wasted in the process.

Honestly, I didn’t like the 2 week update. I think it was too ambitious and didn’t have enough polish now that I look back at it. Don’t get me wrong, if going by story telling standards:

Vanilla: good till Pact arc
S1: Eh…
S2: Decent
HoT: Good

As for the LS game play, I can call it Good, but it just leaves me to wonder “man, if they had more time, imagine how it could’ve been better!”

Thanks for all the comments. I know there’s nothing I’m going to say that will make you feel better, but I’ll share some final thoughts for the night.

I said three weeks ago I’d focus on sustainability and quality. I want to reiterate the part about sustainability. Be angry about legendary weapons, sure, but how about the recent drought of content? That kind of thing happens when we spread ourselves too thin, and when we let the content development pipeline empty out so we can fight fires. What I think we actually owe you is sustainable, predictable, high-quality content. I’m making a decision that’s painful in the short-term so we can position ourselves to deliver that.

I really agree with this. The last real new content we got was the expansion itself, and lets face it, it wasn’t enough to last us 5 months. I even tried taking my sweet time doing it, not rushing at all, and STILL managed to run out of fun things to do! So while losing the new legendaries does suck (my first one though I even wanted is the backpiece from fractals, still waiting on it sadly), I do agree I rather the content come faster so I can spend more time in game.

Consider this… HoT currently has: 3 new maps (which are still buggy looking at DS) which are grindy as hell, Elite Specs which are heavy powercreep (pay to win in PvP…), a Story which is short but at least good (if you ignore the myriad of bugs f.e. in the Mordi battle), Guild halls, 2 Raids with 5 1/2 bosses, a new PvP map (which is quite unbalanced) and now only 4 legy weaps (3/4 being rarely used thanks to being underpowered or buggy)… That’s it?

I previously addressed the “half an expansion” thing, and I can point you to pages like this one and this one (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_2:_Heart_of_Thorns), but that doesn’t matter because it’s just arguing. My job is to entertain you, not to argue with you.

I strongly believe that we will in fact entertain you. We’re a team of people who love the game that you love, and are working on things we’re confident you’ll love. But I’m not here to convince you of that, and I wouldn’t expect you to take my word for it. You can make that judgment in April, and each subsequent time we ship. I will work to make you happy, and I’ll do it by making you happy with what we ship, not with what we promise to ship.

Mo

On one end, I’m the kind of guy when dealing with a gaming company, when they say they want to do something, THEY REALLY DO WANT TO DO IT. But then reality hits with coding, design, or time…and its either pushed back or discontinued.

On the OTHER END though, I’m also the kind of guy that when I am told something over and over, that it becomes “don’t just tell me, SHOW ME you can do it”.

Why is the Open World so freaking static?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Serophous.9085

I dont believe they set out for it to be this static. If people remember living story season 1, it was suppose to leave impacts and you had to be there to experience it. If you weren’t you missed out.

There was a big backlash against this style, so season 2 had nothing like that in it (or very little).

Basically, its static because doing otherwise causes other players to gripe for missing out.

Anet were clearly under a lot of pressure to deliver. Everyone had been asking for an expansion for years, and they finally promised it for 2015. Most of 2015 was a write-off content-wise with the expansion being the only thing of substance. Plus they had to release before the most anticipated game of the year, Fallout 4, otherwise interest would just be sucked away.

Would it be better if Anet held off and gave it more? Who knows. It sucks that commercial interests won out, but it is a balance and there are worse things that could happen to an expansion/sequel (Duke Nukem Forever, anyone?)

I can see this because they were also trying to keep up with their outrageous idea of content every 2 weeks (it was TOO short of a time frame. 1-2 months wouldve been better, to at least break from the usual 3mo).

And yeah, a lot of stuff I was looking forward to HoT, I’m still waiting for (fractals backpiece, the other legendaries, etc)

1. Not all the gear. Some of the karma gear isnt available on the TP. Then there is the skins in HoT that require a fair bit of farm.

2. Yes, it is. HoT is a bit more difficult. Not as difficult as it once was in the beta, but mobs do hit harder in the expansion and require a bit more tactic.

3. Then go and explore it yourself instead of asking for a leash to it. Explore young one!

4. Not really needed. We got custome guild halls atm, but anet is careful to not empty out their cities. For me though, and just me, i could care less for housing.

5. I agree new skills would be nice, but it looks like they are only coming when tied to a new specialization. As for the acquiring part, yeah….it was tried before with traits. It didn’t go well. So scratch that part

How We Got Here (Long)

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Serophous.9085

Honestly, I wish they would add more skills to the game (that would be more unique, not copies with a slight variation like in GW1).

I want to customize the my weapon attacks, different shouts, signets, stances, cantrips, traps, etc. I am even at the point that yes, I want race abilities to be decent because it at least lets me feel more like that race when playing.

And I know I know. It takes time and money to make these things work with coding and getting the animations correct.

But I feel the major reason is pvp and esports. And yeah, balance is important, but everything is so streamlined and simplified its BORING.

As for RP itself and options, I know its stupid but…its 2016 and we still can’t sit in a chair…

For my DnD days, I was lucky to have some open minded DMs that would let me play some of the more benign monster races, my favorite being the kobold. Sure, they had weaknesses to overcome, but the fun came where it was “what was I gonna make him do?”

Frenzied berserker kobold? Hilarious to see this little thing foaming at the mouth and taking of an opponents leg with a single hit, only to lose his weapon the next round, so just grabbed the leg and used that.

Kobold Sorcerer who’s dream was to become a real dragon? Poor guy had to kept yelling at people he was a real dragon and get into shouting matches….

Thief that was useless in combat, yet great with almost any skill? Pretty much just ran around the battlefield screaming his head off, yet somehow still charmed the ladies…

Nowadays, I get my customizing itch from Path of Exile and their system. Unless I am making a character to go max map diving, then i can basically build my character however I want and test its limits. If it dies a lot, then its not a good build, and I have to think of another.

Not to say that isn’t a bad thing. If the game stays at one difficulty, and the build fails, its the build, not the game’s fault. Though, the other side is bad too, where if only one or two builds work, then something needs looked at. There needs to be a healthy number compared to what is available.

And again, I’m not getting this with GW2. I do believe, there has been too much homogenization now between the classes.

That’s how balance business works. Straight up power creep is better for sales.

Actually, with this game it’s the opposite. Since they’re not getting paid for making people pay, power creep works against them: it provides a disincentive to new players.

If you want your character to be more powerful, or in the case of PvP be remotely competitive at all, you need to by the expansion. GW2 has done a lot of thing right, but the pay to win of the expansion wasn’t one of them.

Huh, so I guess GW1 expansions were P2W as well…

I think the thing that happened was, they saw perhaps the majority of people liked the way silverwastes was handled (I at least did, I can be wrong in this). Sure, chest trains were a side effect, but the rest was to defend as best as they could and pop the event as fast as they could for the boss. It wasn’t perfect, but it was neat.

So for HoT, they decided to take that style, and merge it with a less popular style, the one at Southsun, which only really matters when a boss is going to spawn. Instead of players dictating when the boss event spawns, now its set on a hard timer, which…sucks. I really wish they left it in the hands of the players to decide.

I’m a fairly casual player (2,897 hours over 1,294 days), I rarely have more than 10g on me, frequently less than 1g but my mini pet collection alone is currently worth over 5,500 gold.

But the thing is I didn’t pay anything like that much to get it. For an extreme example I got the Mini Karka the first weekend it was available, when it cost about 15g, it’s now going for 2,500g on the TP. Same with a lot of the others.

If this guy was playing during the first year he could easily have bought a bunch of black lion keys, gotten a bunch of Halloween, Fused etc. weapon skins and then quit the game and left them sitting there for years slowly gaining value as they became rarer, then come back and registered with this site.

(He could also have more money than sense in real life and have actually spent that much to buy gold, either through the game or illegal sites.)

He could also have bought gems when they were worth a few silver in the exchange, stockpiled till now, then cashed in

Ok, how bout hardmode is activated by doing some special event or purposefully putting yourself at a disadvantage for bonus loot?

Here are some examples:
An elementalist fight where you have the option to run around the area and destroy the boss’s four pillars (air, water, fire, earth). Doing so weakens the boss. Leaving them up, however, makes the boss stronger or gives additional attacks. Pending on how many you leave up would determine the bonus loot you get.

How bout the next fight you have to attack a son of svanir shaman and his totem? You attack the totem when its vulnerable to knock him out of his elemental state in a short time window. But if you are able to actually destroy the totem in one phase, he berserks and gains new abilities plus deals more damage.

Another fight idea attack three mord general bosses at once, and depending on what order you kill them determines the difficulty and loot at the end.

Another boss summons minions that empower the boss, granting new abilities and damage. You can kill the minions or leave them alive, leaving them alive and just killing the boss rewards more loot.

Or another boss that gains charges to a max of 10, increasing his damage and defence, and moving him over to some spot and activating a device removes all of them for a time being. Killing him with 10 up rewards more loot.

The Economy: Draining the Liquid Gold

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Serophous.9085

Serophous.9085

The reason why it might seem like there is less gold in the economy and prices for many items are going up is because we are simply destroying it at a faster pace than before. In the 6-9 months before HoT, not much new content came out and people didnt consume as much goods and gold but since then, most players started consuming again, for guild halls, scribing, new legendary and ascended gear.
So i think the only macroeconomic change that has happened is that we were used to earn more mats and gold than we spent before HoT and now we spent more than we earn. I think the changes to the supply side didnt have as much of an impact as the changes to the demand side.

This is what I keep telling people. The supply acquisition didn’t change with the expansion. Take ascended mats for example.

Before HoT, you needed them just for ascended armor and weapons.
After HoT, now you need them for ascended armor, weapons, Guild Halls, Legendary backpack, precursors, etc. All the while, the supply remained basically unchanged (Timegate).

Casual - Hardcore- Problem, solution?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Serophous.9085

Serophous.9085

Simple.

Remove timers as a failing mechanic and use it as a reward mechanic.

Example: “beat the boss in 2min or fail” changes to “defeat the boss in 2min and get bonus loot”.

Now people can go into the pve mode however they want and perhaps beat the boss, while more engaged players will think on comp and builds to synergize and beat the encounter for bonus loot.

Or add an optional event that happens during the main that if complete it, or prevent it from failing during the main event, bonus loot.

Honestly, I hate the timers as they are.

Sure, no one wants to be in a 20min fight, but removing the timer ateast allows them to complete it.

Why not use the Timer for BONUS loot? Like defeating the first boss at all only gives tokens, but beat it within 7min, get a piece of ascended gear with a choice of getting HoT stats? Or a mini, etc.

There’s an easy way to make gold. Get some crafters to work for you. Some people don’t like to TP their own products and will gladly let you have the lion’s share of the proceeds if you do it for them.

If that’s not your thing, learn a craft and have at it. It’s a huge grind but it will let you get your hands on some small amount of gold.

Oh yeah, thats whats worse in this game.

You don’t even HAVE to get a profession to earn gold in the game. You can just flip on the TP constantly and earn money that way.

[Satire] My New Game: Outside

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Serophous.9085

Honestly, the NPE wasn’t that bad, till you hit level 16. That’s when I found out the best way to earn gold is to spec into a profession.

The problem is, each one requires “profession xp”, and the lowest paying professions are the only ones requiring 0 profession xp. You can level up in this profession, and get better titles, which increases your gold income, but its in a PvEvP environment. You aren’t in DIRECT competition with other players, but its competition for that title.

But it gets worse. Some professions require some kind of paper you have to grind for. AND IT COSTS TONS OF GOLD TO GET. I mean, holy crap I heard of gold sinks, but this? THIS WAS REDICULOUS!

And worse, WORSE of all is the balance on getting a new profession.

Ok, you ready? You ready for how much sense this makes?

You grind for hours a day getting gold at the crappy professions.
You spend all that gold you earned on some crappy one time paper to get into a new profession.
THE OTHER REQUIREMENT IS A REQUIRED AMOUNT OF PROFESSION XP IN THAT PROFESSION!

In other words, you can’t even start at level 1 of the profession unless you already have xp as it! How?! How do you get profession xp in something you are trying to be? What were the devs thinking in this design? You need profession xp in order to apply for a profession you’ve never done before!

In other words, you dumped all that gold for nothing!

Thanks for your kind instincts, Xillllix. No worries about your comments or anyone else’s, really.

But let me explain a bit: I wanted to post because by doing so, players who may not have seen a “red post” for a while will be assured that we are actively reading and responding to this question, and that there are no changes in our plans to bring back this well-loved element of the game.

It might be an easy assumption to say “It’s not here today (or it’s not been here in XXX days) therefore it’s never coming.” But that’s truly inaccurate. So an update seems worthwhile, just to remind forum members of our plans for the future.

The problem is gaile, in saying “sometime in the future” that seems to sting with the community (because, we hear it all the time).

SAB – “coming back sometime in the future”
Tribal armor and other armors from Spvp awards – “sometime in the future”

when its been YEARS.

I know going with time constraints is a bad idea, but saying something like:
“Maybe sometime in the next 3 months”, and then when that time passes “sorry, didnt get to it, extension of maybe in next X months”. At least that signals “hey, we didn’t forget about it, we just didn’t have time, had to bump it back, looking to implement again still.”

It would at least alleviate the whole “anet has forgotten about it” idea.

Also note, saying “hopefully, looking to try, etc” isn’t promising anything. So you shouldn’t have to worry about people saying “but you promised!!” (they’ll still do it anyway of course).

Measuring by AP is a stupid measurement, one that sadly people think “works”.
Not to mention, they are doing the most brain dead of fractals, swamp, and at that low of a level, its way easy to get the wisps even if traps are triggered.

So if anything, consider yourself lucky you weren’t with that group, as most likely they were looking for someone to carry THEM.

Actually, I like to tease those groups when I join, see they are below 15k, say “i’m not carrying this group, low AP” and leave.

Are you serious or kidding? ? No mater what anet does, we only see 5 classes used per game dude. So class poyential/traits/skills has nothing to do with what people would rather run. It all comes down to preference/ synergy.

And how do you know it’s not Anet priority?? Do you work them or have you been breached about something we aren’t supposed to know?? Finally, what do you think the patches are about?

I’d say that after three years of sparse balance patching and continued power creep it should be pretty obvious that balance isn’t a top priority. Also the fact that they don’t have a dedicated balance team on staff.

Add to that bugs being in the game since launch unaddressed, skills that have never seen serious use, weapons and traits in desperate need of rework and nothign being done about it.

Don’t forget how “useful” the falling traits are

I think its easy to sum up as this:

For soloing and dungeons, toughness is fine (as long as you aren’t in a speedrun group for the dungeon, they’ll want full dmg).

For large events (where there are so many players, the boss scales up super high), raiding, etc, go glass cannon. To put it simply:

Two players have 8000hp each
The boss deals 10,000 dmg
your toughness prevented 1000 dmg
The other guy took all 10,000 dmg.
Either way, you’re both dead, but the guy in glass cannon helped more with his dps.

I have a Fused GS, and a Zodiac Longbow. Both of which I got for under 50g (one was a drop).

Please explain more. As far as I recall it, the fused ones have been only total rng blc skins (and later been available for 7 blc tickets). The zodiac have been since their introdution a blc ticket only skin. I’m not sure about the zodiac at all, so please tell me how one of them was a drop.

maybe the fused gs dropped during the LS1, since that was when they were introduced, possibly it was a drop chance during that time

No, fused never dropped. They had the worst blc rng that every existed in gw2. And I think (not sure here) that zodiac had been blc rng only too. That’s why I asked how/where he had them as a drop.

They were a horrible drop from the chests, or you could’ve gotten 7 tickets to buy one from the vendor. Either way, was a pain (i farmed my tickets btw)

To a point.

Small events with few people around / soloing, its fine.

Big events that scale hugely since so many people flock to them? Pointless, you’re gonna die in one to two hits anyway.

GW2 using too much memory.

Well, what would people do if there was no grind in the game?

Complain that the game is too grindy.

1. Complain that there is nothing to do, cause did everything
2. Complain its too hard, because without farming, you would want to try and prevent people from completing the content too fast
3. Complain about the time-lockout stuff that would be implemented to slow players down.

Dulfy had summarized the Jan. 29 guild chat livestream and they basically admitted that HoT wound up more grindy than they wanted. So they’re working on that.

http://dulfy.net/2016/01/29/gw2-jan-29-guild-chat-livestream-notes/

General Stuff from Colin:
More polish in the next quarterly update. Spring update is chance to address some of the feedback from HoT. You should be able to play in a short of amount of time and make meaningful progress. We are going to take a look at that. Some areas ended more grindy than we would like.

The spring update will probably come around April, or maybe the end of March. Though it’s possible we may see some small changes here and there before the big update.

Just sit tight folks. They’ve heard your feedback and are working to make things better.

yeah, but until then I’m gonna have PoE’s expansion to play around in…

And man…those specializations look A LOT better and thought out than what we got…

They have said time and time again, most recent being the F2P model event, that their definition of Grind is getting to max level and getting the gear needed to play the game. The latter they stumbled on a bit, as for high end fractals and generally for raiding, you should have ascended gear.

Other than that, THE OTHER 99% OF THE GAME CAN BE DONE IN EXOTICS.

Their main focus was getting people to the end with leveling, and leveling has never been so easy in a game. Unless you are a F2P account, even logging in for so many days levels you now. Just by walking you level, you trip over XP in this game.

What many call a “grind” for cosmetics is really what I call “farming”. I don’t HAVE to be doing this, but I choose to. A grind is a must in order to progress.

As for the ascend materials cost, simple supply and demand can explain that. HoT introduced more of a demand for the mats, via guilds, precursor crafting, changing up recipes, etc. So there was a bigger DEMAND for the materials. Thus they started getting bought up right away, reducing the SUPPLY.

Now that the supply is harder to come by, prices soar because its a rarer material.

So, if you want Anet to have the market adjust and reduce the prices more on the mats, they either need to reduce the demand for it (lower costs to craft stuff), or increase the supply (remove the once a day limit on making the items).

Warrior-

Overall pretty balanced, requires a bit of skill to pull off. One thing that I think could take a hit is HeadButt (beserker elite). The base damage (according to the wiki) says that it does about 1.9k damage. That is on a 20 second cd that breaks stun, fills adrenaline to the max, and stuns for 3 seconds. That is a bit too much imo. I think it could take either a damage nerf, increase the cd, or reduce the stun. It is a bit too much.

Another thing is Gunflame. I have many times run into a battle, been hit by a 13k gunflame, which really takes the fun out of the fight. I think it could use a slight damage nerf.

Other than those two things war seems pretty okay.

Seriously? I believe you need actually play warrior if you think the only thing it needs is nerfs.

Awesome, I wouldn’t know because I don’t play war, but how would you like warrior to be buffed without it becoming too overpowered?

If you don’t know something, its not smart to comment on it and its state in pvp. It makes you look like the fool

Sorry, we seem to have failed to notice that this thread diverted into Off-TopicLand a while back.

Yes, despite assurance from forum members to the contrary, there is a topic for this thread. Why, it’s in the very title: Dungeons!

The mods will do a little tidy-up because honestly, I expect “What’s your favorite pizza topping” or “Who’s going to win the Oscars™” next and we really don’t want to go there.

So… got any more thoughts about Guild Wars 2 Dungeons?

Sorry Gaile, dungeons are dead.

At this point, for me, its either getting a guild group together and doing a fast path, if anyone wants to bother at all. Or as my friends, in which I can collectively hear that silent groan over the headsets.

I’m just waiting for the final death kneel in which you guys let us trade fractal tokens for dungeon tokens so we can at least get those achievements done.

There seemed to be a lot of people that were disappointed that they’d sprung for the pre-purchase and I don’t think a lot of the people that pre-purchased HoT will do so again. I think a good portion of them are going to take a wait and see approach, which means numbers for a second expansion could very possibly be even more dissatisfying than HoT’s numbers.

And it doesn’t surprise me that their idea of F2Pers buying the expansion didn’t play out as well as they thought it would. When you compare core Tyria’s content for free to HoT’s tiny content for money along with the grindy system, yeah, don’t know why they’d buy it. lol

I bought expansion for revenant which is full of bugs and many unviable skills.. Everything is a sad joke about this xpac.

4 small grind maps
Pvp “balance”
Wvw map that noone want to play on – thats how awful it is.
Basically no new skins to earn in game -meanwhile since launch gemstore was flooded with many of them
Only 3 legendaries.
Rushes story with no logic whatsoever
Annoying as kitten “adventures” (srsly.. who came up with that one?)
Fail raids that are dps check
A lot of promised stuff was not released to this day (fractal legendary backpiece as example).
Tons.. tons of bugs. They are everywhere.

Yeah, based on that i definitely wont bother with any future “xpac” (read as mini dlc) if they dont fix that mess first. Maybe they finally wake up and fix this kitten. And if not..then goodluck in future.

There are skins to earn in game, the problem is, its really not worth going for them. So saying there are basically no new skins is false.

Adventures should be named changed to “mini games”, these are not “adventures”. And some need rebalanced.

Rest I can agree on

Poor Wildstar.

…….

Best part of that graph is how bad Wildstar is doing, it makes my day.

Cirran

Wildstar is the poster child for how the market has shifted away from WOW style business and game play.

Meh, personally I think it has a TON more to do with how Wildstar presented it’s self. It is a “hardcore” and “elitist” players paradise. Just shows when you basically call everyone who is not one of those a cupcake and needs to grow a pair, you fail badly. I do feel the game had potential but the focus needed to change when it went free to play, it didn’t it is now reaping what it has sown.
