Hi, I just wanted to give an update. First, I’d like to apologize for setting off such a firestorm of speculation—I was trying to provide assurance that Final Rest is, indeed hooked up and working, but it’s not likely to have dropped yet. Like I said, the odds that I posted were a quick calculation after looking at the drop chance, how often the event runs, and other factors.
On a totally unrelated note, large event chests are being upgraded to make them more rewarding, so the odds of Final Rest and other rare items appearing should see an increase in a future update.

Smaller companies with a much different culture have begun in recent years to treat their employees more like humans and less like cogs in a machine.

In fact… in many newer/startup companies… and smaller companies… freedoms such as this are benefits that are advertised BY the company to attract talent.

At the papermill you are an entirely replaceable set of hands… at a creative or research based company its the employees market not the employers market.

Personally… if you work for a living, why do you kill yourself working? If you have the chance to work at a company that treats you like a live human, take it… many people are.

This is insane, ok i agree that the various stuns – pullback / knockbacks where not needed and are gone for good

They shouldn’t have been removed, especially the pull. I had to put in a little effort, basically dodging once, when AoEing a group of putrifiers, but now, I don’t even have to care, because their pull does nothing except immobilize themselves…

The CC wasn’t even an issue, it was simply a dodge check. Anyone who complained about it was basically admitting they were either new or didn’t know how to dodge.

They can’t make rewarding open world mobs that require skill to take down because there is no skill in zerging. As a side effect, soloing is made very unrewarding.

Dodging once was easy, even the second time is simple. But the. third…not enough endurance. So the third pulls me, then the first’s cd is up, so i get pulled again, and maybe ill have endurance to dodge the second again.

Was orr hard before? No. Was it a pain in the kitten kitten YES!

I think the new changes coming and the living story are arenanets counter to these new mmo releases like neverwinter and ESO.

Until ESO’s business model comes out in the open i really think they are more worried about neverwinter as itsfree to play and free to download..

problem is; neverwinter looks and play like kitten, there is almost no customization, every class can only use “1” weapon. animations are choppy. it isnt true to d&d 4th ed at all,
overall this game is almost dead on arrival in my book.

Well i think u can sell it for arround 200/250$ asus makes quality stuff ppl like it, so even while being old i think u will find a buyer. I would definitelly try to sell it instead salvaging any part from it cuz it would most likelly cripple ur new build. For 600-700$ u can probably get smth like this, it won’t be fancy but it will be functional for modern gaming.

So basically equivalent systems AMD is a bit cheaper, also offers 8 cores (which is kitten for the price), intel offers lower power consumption and overall better single thread performance, for games that is actually nice, GW2 for example. I’d say intel would be beter for only gaming system while AMD will be better for computing in general streaming, encoding, eidting videos stuff like that, 8 core AMD offers more raw computing power while and intel offers single core efficience.

Your current processor is a socket LGA 775, in terms of computers, this is 3+ generations old. The best you can upgrade to is a C2Q (core 2 quad) like the Q6600, but in all honesty, thats still 3 generations old. Its time to get a socket LGA1155 (Intel) motherboard or socket AM3+ (AMD) motherboard.

With the AMD side of things someone else like Rampage hopefully speaks up, but I recommend an FX 8350 processor.

If you choose to go Intel, the i5 K-series processors are where its at. i5’s in theory are what run GW2 the best when they are overclocked to 4.5+Ghz.

ok, so upgrade the motherboard, gotcha. And yeah, prob gonna go with intel. This is probably going to change my ram, isnt it?

You are correct, that i5 upgrade is not compatible with your computer.

At the very least you would need a new motherboard with a Socket 1155.

Ok, so I downloading AIDA64 Extreme to find out what motherboard i had to see what chips I could use. And completely confused.

Currently I’m using DualCore Intel Pentium E5300, 2.6ghz.

I can see the motherboard ID, and the name, but no idea what pins it can take.

if anything, looking to upgrade to Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz Quad-Core Unlocked, but somehow, i think it won’t fit.

I was doing my daily on my level 41 engineer, when in the middle of one event, I got a crash. I sent the report, but just to be interesting, i read what the crash was, and it said something about achievements.

Ignoring it, I continued on, till I noticed that I wasn’t getting credit for the achievements.

Currently, my dailies read as:

Veterans Defeated 0 /5
attacks dodged 0 / 15
items crafted 0 /10
daily gatherer 20/20
daily events 5/5

Relogged, restarted computer, date and time are correct, tried guesting, nothing! People in my guild tell me it should be 10 revives, not dodges.

What is going on?

ok, im submitting my data i received on a brief farming session. Note, I only did 4 events, not killing any mobs in between. Magic find was at 161% (MF banner and guild buff)

The trick is to fill a bowl with m&ms and every time you kill a mob you eat one. Or put a bunch of different treats in little bags and grab a bag when you kill something, Ooo I got a good treat that time. Anet isn’t going to reward you, you have to do it yourself.

take that one step further:

take lots of M&M’s, separate colors to represent drop rates for items (blue, green, yellow, red, etc). when you get say, 4 blue drops, eat 4 blue M&M’s from the pile. at the end of a gaming session, log how many of each were either eaten or left, and report drop rate data to appropriate thread.

you now have a constant snack flow of M&M’s, and you collect data for science!

Spend 10 – 15 min killing a dragon, get mostly 3 blues, a green, and probably a rare gem or crest.

Spend same time killing chickens, get more blues, greens, bags, and a better chance at a rare.

Legendaries are just a show of coin now. Spend a few weeks standing at a trading post vendor, you get a legendary.

Okay, i made the mistake and others are too.

Lets not talk about legendaries, lets talk exotics.

Destroyer weapons, patterns from the jormag event, they are simply exotics, yet look at some of the requirements. With the way lodestones drop, even with the new karma chests, you might as well feel like you’re going for a legendary.
I dont know why more people go for infinite light than twilight or sunrise. You would stand out more

Crafting is seriously kittened up at end game now. I decided to see what it would cost for a set of exotic mixture of beserker and knights gear, ran me over 30 gold! Probably more if i haent (you guessed it) FARMED some mats myself.

I wanted to get a destroyer axe, or try for one of the NON legendary items that require a gift, but even those are insane.

Why cant we just make the dungeon vendors in LA do what lion guard lyss does. Turn in crappy peices of armor and weapons for tokens that can be used to get mats? They dont have to be the same conversion rate as lionguard lyss, but WITHIN REASON. Along with the prices.

Ok, so no stealth nerfs, no dr bugs, then why havent you then just closed the sticky thread on preceived loot drops? Why did you then say you are gathering the data and developing a process for it, when you already have a ways and means of telling? Something doesnt make sense here

installed the beta for AMD, still no solution to my fps problem

yep, once the patch came out, my fps went to kitten. Just to be sure my card wasn’t dying, I tried some other games, and they ran smoothly. So its definately something to do with GW2.

Good thing I just beat XCOM on normal. I’ll try hard later depending on this weeks wvwvw….

Collect 25 Porous Bones

Since the recent 29th patch, I am getting this weird stuttering in frame rate and sound, like lag. I never had this problem before.

My current settings are all on low, and framerate set to unlimited.

I can see this thread being closed or assimilated into the loot drop thread soon.

So they were ABLE TO TELL if LOOT was dropping TOO MUCH or TOO LITTLE and ADJUSTED IT.

I think my dr i r is messed up. I seem to get greens and blues, and an occasional rare, then nothing but bones, then back to greens and blues.

Not complaining though.

I’m tired of seeing all the dawns, twilights, eternitys, CoF armor, molten greatswords, leather trenchcoats, ghastly greatswords, temple heavy helmets, and charrzooka rifles.

I want to see more Howler, bolt, Ebon vanguard weapons, and leather vests.

To be fair, leather really doesnt have many options…

On another note, yesterday one of my finest soldiers in xcom died. He was my first colonel, so i changed his last name to Sanders. He was our cook and a great support. If only those mutons didnt use two grenades…

Yeah, i was going for bolt, but really, it doesnt seem worth it the way things are in requiring. if i see a legendary nowadays, i assume its just someone with a fat gold bag. And as someone who wvwvws a lot, im not going to see that gold. So why bother?

Heck, im tempted to start forging graw weapons or gemmed weapons cause you dont see them.
