More likely Devon is eating some cheese and tipping his monitor over to fill his glass of wine.
I have the perfect bottle for him:
I like you. Can we be friends?
More likely Devon is eating some cheese and tipping his monitor over to fill his glass of wine.
See? THIS is how WvWvW is suppose to be played!
lol at using cannons and oil. Hold on a sec, I want to stand in the thousands of AoE attacks as they rain down upon me.
Maybe all the organized guilds should have a meeting and stack up in the lower brackets, equally in all the servers. Then there would be no way up because of balanced matchups and glicko 2 glitch and there would also not be arrow carts and coverage that keeps them up.
We all could enjoy the fights we play the game for and there would be no reason to stress about going up in the bracket. This has been a dream of mine ^^.
well, keep dreaming, sadly
Yeah, new pve content means yaks is gonna take a hit for a week or so.
I wish people who threaten to quit would just quit already. Every day the same thing over and over unless anet does what I suggest cause I know more what to do.
If you aren’t having fun, then just quit! Anet isnt holding a gun to yoir head.
People complain about nothing but zergs
Anet changes something to help fight zergs
People complain about not being able to zerg
facepalm
Ok, so I was going through, cleaning old files and junk from my computer, when I came to an old game I hadn’t played in years. Dungeons and Dragons online. I shrugged and booted it up one last time, after downloading a long long update process…I logged on to see what had changed. Nothing much really.
But one thing stuck out to me, that maybe Anet could borrow or improve upon. DDO’s dungeon system. I mean, its simple enough, choose a difficulty and enter. The more people and higher the difficulty, the harder the dungeon and better loot. I mean, we have the first part of the living story dungeon able to be solo’d, scaling with people, so why can’t something like this be applied to all dungeons.
It also gives the hardcore players something to brag about at least (I solo’d extreme mode, yadayada yada).
First off, i wish they just remove the world stealth and call it invisibility. Sorry, but if i see someone running towards me and then ‘stealths’, i should still see them running towards me.
And you’re right, they have the highest burst and are the slippiest class, which is a horrible combination. Invisiblity is the next best thing to invulnerability. Your oppenent can’t see you, can’t target you. All he can do is swing wildly hoping for that glimmer of hope to hit, only for a thief to shadow step, bow 5, or their blinfing powder activates.
They made theives have too much control in fights. The ability to do spike damage, disappear, and spike again has always been stupid. At least in WoW, if a rogue got close, you had a chance to react with their stealth sound, or even seeing them.
You can have your spike damage, you can keep being slippery, but when you have the second best defensive ability in the game, its op.
actually, yeah. would that be too hard to implement in wvw devon?
Just give dead people a rez timer, like lets say 1min. If you dont wp after that minute, auto rezzed at the starting wp.
This kinda makes me want to spec my warrior for kill shot and get this boon hate trait and the trait that makes rifle shots piece. Can you imagine that big ol kill shot ripping through zergs stacked with boons? Would be too much fun.
stop giving stuff away >.< I want to abuse it first before it gets fixed, kitten
Also, thiefs will get the ability to steal enemy boons and apply them to themselves…so if a opponent has 20 stacks of might on them, the thief steals the 20 stacks which he starts using straight away, your opponent has 0 might and now faces a opponent with 20 stacks of might…double wammy…
Where did you hear this? If the opponent had 20 stacks what if the thief didn’t have 20 stacks? lol
Out of the mouths of the devs on the SOTG video…did u watch the video?
shhh…shh..shh…shh…
I laugh every time i read his post, don’t let him in on it yet.
Its not like a necro attack has a boon removal that also deals dmg.
Yaks could use oceanic sea as well.
Only problem is, dont want to do so well then that we start to move up and become the next bandwagon server…
Seriously hope 1) only applies to trebuchet. And 3%/boon, you serious :o, that is an insane dmg buff. Will be like, hey look an ele, boom dead.
Cof 1 just got that much faster
Nice because us warriors need more damage… And no fixes to our real issues….
I agree, damage isn’t really the issue for warriors.
But there is other warrior changes too. They mentioned turtles defense is being removed in place of a trait that reduces duration of all movement impairing effects by 33% and gives us short regen when hit by one of those effects.
If this is true, i already know two ways to break it where it will be op.
Lol drop that GvG thing. So they brought maybe a handful more than you, if they are as bad as you say they are a few extra “scrubs” to mow down shouldn’t have been a problem?
Also this is a game, not some fight to the death the only thing that got damaged here seemed to be egos. It’s a GAME we play it for FUN.
But but….I always put on my resumes my kitten score….:’(
a catapult that can fling people…
Or how bout one that stealthily throws rocks?
Didn’t they state a long time ago that they were planing on adding unique loot tables to dungeons?
I’ve been away for the last 4 months, but I remember something being said about this.
Some do have unique tables, like the charr backwarmer, or the ghostly back piece….which basically show nothing…
But I think this is really the root of the problem, the other dungeon’s loot tables are just meh. Heck, I got tired of running AC because of all the Garlic Bread I got from chests.
I believe thats where I am getting at. If these are indeed just place holders, then it would really add to the different looks needed for the game. It would also actually make it worth throwing armor into the mystic toilet for a chance at the exotic armors.
I guess what I am asking is, not that it has to be soon, but is it ‘on the list’?
I’m talking about Kilbron’s armor, Nika’s armor, etc. They all look exactly alike when compared to other armor’s.
I’m just going to assume, and please confirm it, that the current design’s for the name armor’s are just place holders until the real designs are released?
Im not trying to flame, but why does everyone want to nerf cof1 if the loot sucks everywhere else. Why not just post a ‘increase quality loot’ thread.
My engineer, prob the best look I have so far. Still working on the others.
Head: Noble Mask (crafted)
Shoulders: Duelist pauldrons
Chest: Inquest Breastplate
Gloves: Divinity Council Gloves
Legs: Superior Studded Pants (omg a cheap blue!? I know!)
Boots: Svanir Boots
Pistols: Glyphic Pistol
Back: Universal Multitool Pack (The Toymaker’s bag will not be missed)
Colors: Illumination, Deep Maple, Midnight Sky, Frost, Rawhide
Like the complaints about how could any game not launch with an LFG tool when most games don’t.
Defiance launched with LFG tool. I am quietly confident that Neverwinter open BETA will have one too since it already exists in closed BETAs.
The most games should mean most MMOs pre 2012.
my god, how did people survive before a LFG tool? It was great at first in WoW, and now its such an abomination.
Also have to keep in mind how much they can do in a month’s time, since they have been trying to stick to a new patch once a month.
Well, technically there is no tank in this game. But since you mention heavy plate, that leaves you with guardian or warrior.
I would prob go with guardian. Their buffs and heals really make you durable. But your main hinderance will prob be range.
As for race. Well, norn get to turn in anthro animals giving you different abilities (i believe bear is more tankish).
Also, mr. Moderator will be moving this thread soon.
Solo, I walked my necro up on 3 [Me] in YB BL with just my minion army in tow. At a distance they saw me, they hopped up and down, then as soon as I started running toward them, they ran toward the nearest friendly camp so they could have some NPC backup. /disagree.
I once saw a mesmer out and about, and decided to attack him, guess i shouldve seen that a single lone person would have a zerg running shortly behind him.
I noticed this little secret just now, made my way up, and saw this angry stormy cloud. But he does nothing, just stares angrily at me and rains.
Supposedly to activate hard mode…?
I guess its just me that thinks that the two losing teams would always beat up first. Then once dethroned (aka brought down to a closer point value), in which case suddenly its a free for all once more to jockey for that position. I know all three servers just want good fights. I guess im thinking of ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend…till that enemy is dealt with, so time to kick myfriend’s kitten . Just thought of the best example, and to show some age. The episode in reboot where bob and megabyte had to team up to stop the web creatures from destroying mainframe, and megabyte betrays bob at the last second.
You’re right. 2v1 on the first server in the tier makes for more exciting matches. Given the current score, Yak’s and Mags should be doing that.
I know we should, but at the same time, we dont want tbe whole ‘zomg alliance’ accusations. Its like both servers feel it in the back of their minds, but at the same time, they feel dirty if they dare even try. Its like the word ‘co-op’ became a bad word like ‘bipartisonship’.
I guess in hindsight it would be bad as it would be unfair to the othe na players being stuck just inside their spawn zone. Course, at the same time, green would be off the map, so here comes megabyte pushing bob into the container….
This is an economy. Yes, anet can influence it by changing drop rates. Look a ectos.
And hate to break it to ya, this happens in RL too (Steam summer sales….)
Ok, can some just please explain to me how a place sunk into the dark abyssof the ocean for about 250(?) Years, d to the surfaceundead dragon (causing…i dont know…maybe a giant TIDAL WAVE that could hit cities near the coast), inhabitted by said dead dragon’s army of undead minions, shouldn’t be a bleak and desolate place?

I guess what people should remember is with nostalgia, you only tend to remember the good times and ignore the bad. Its like with the WoW group. ‘BC was the best. BC was the greatest.’ Do they also remember when every 2v2 team was most like resto druid / class x? Do they remember feral druids having avoided the hybrid tax and were killing people and OP, resulting in the second biggest nerf at that time? Do they remember druids healing metely by shapeshifting? Nope! Those were the bad memories that they dont wan to remember as it would taint the happiness they want to feel.
This happens to every mmo. I bet if we could dig up the beginning forums of gw1, we would see just as many complaints as we see now.
I think the main different for me between the Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2 combat system is where I’m looking. In Guild Wars 1, I was looking at my skill bar. In Guild Wars 2 I’m looking at the world.
I find that, personally, far more immersive.
Maybe you just memorized where your skills are better in GW2? I mean there is no reason to have to look at your skillbar ever in GW1 if you know what you were doing. Maybe you were just bad?
That’s right….I was just bad. That must be it.
Or I was looking at when skills could be cast again, because in PVe there wasn’t much reason to look at you screen. As I’ve said before, there wasn’t much reason to do anything because your heroes were so powerful you didn’t even have to show up.
I said the game was too easy, not to hard. You should probably pay more attention.
I forgot you didn’t play before heroes so your view of GW1 is tainted. I’m sorry you didn’t experience it in its glory days.
No reason for you to say it was a bad game because you played it at the worst point in its history.
I just….ugh…wait…what?
Did you just say gw1 wasnt that great in the beginning but became amazing towards the end? Do you not see the irony here?!
No, I said the exact opposite. Heroes were at the end of GW1, not the beginning.
What part didn’t you understand in my post?
Ok, i did misread on my part. But i really didnt play for long as i didnt like gw1 in the beginning. It was all about speed running to the top trai er a the time, which made it a pain to find a group to actually play, that most of the time i went with the npcs…

They want to fix everything first before adding something new. Plus, they have to do everything in a months time.
How bout something where you have to destroy the walls in front of you while a tank tries to ram into you from behind, and the only way to stop it briefly is by hitting it? (Free cookie to whoever gets the referance).
Please anet, make the picture after beating rytlock’s rampage on rytlock and getting all the treasure into an animated picture for our phones. I would love to unlock my phone and see him there, lifting up his glasses. Maybe even change the text to ‘victory is ours!’
PLEEEEAAAASSSSSSSE!
Nothing has changed. P/D thieves still laugh at anybody trying to kill them in small scale battles, and thieves still get to pick and choose their conflicts better than any other class.
So keep leveling up that thief alt since nothing will ever change. No game developer seems to understand that stealth is a bad mechanic in multiplayer games like these.
^^ a zerger whose group got trolled by a decent roamer thief, har har.
Man, gotta love the nooblets who think they are entitled to stomp everything because they have more people.
Yep, guy talks about the small scale battles, immediately is called a zerg. Bit defensive arent we?
His point still stands, invisibility (its not stealth, you are just invisible, lets call it what it is) is a horrible mechanic that should’ve went the way of the dinosaurs.
Its even worse when a whole class is based around it with the excuse ‘well, if they can’t, the are really squishy!’. Ok, so they can pluck at me, burst me down (cause whats better than someone who can invis also be the same prof that has burst potential?), and reset the fight whenever they want as well.
Hell, any time i roam, i feel like a dbz match against a thief where they run at me, disappear, then suddenly reappear when attacking.
See, if the devs talk to us more (here as well as class forums, general, etc) you have a happier community (yes, there will be gripers, who gripe over everything, even if its something they wanted cause suddenly its not what they invisioned). Hell, Devon went home from work, sat down at a computer, kept that mysterious book of charr puns in the corner, and instead of relaxing and playing a game, he posted on the forums.
Heck, at least all i want to hear is ‘we are going to try changing x skill’, ‘make
class x a bit beefier’, or just throws ideas at us like you prob are in the room.
Just none of the ’we’re aware/working on it’
Ive been seeing a few theives move in 3 man groups, constant stealth, and i stant downing of unsuspecting victims.
As for the constant blind thief, was tha you i faced in front of veloka on my warrior?
I main an Ele. I was speaking less about myself and more about the rest of the team who definitely don’t get the recognition they deserve. Just remember every change you see had a bunch of people working on it.
You dont realize what you just started…
I would like to thank the mag and db zergs that kept attacking Ogre Watch in EBBL while I was in charge of it. Tues mag was able to get the wall down before it was fortified, and DB almost got it down thursday.
But yet our excellent response time and fighting spirit kept it safe and sound, and many bags were had.
And mag, stop being annoying with your trebs on harpy hill…
Edit:
Also, I wish i screen shotted it, but I was laughing when DB was trying to hide behind the wall in the OL courtyard, while I stood watching the whole time and warning.
(edited by Serophous.9085)
The following weeks will be as follows:
Db will continue to win. Yes it will be while yaks and mag sleeps. Yes it will be mostly with pvd. We know they know, its no ones fault. Im sure even their sea team gets bored just pvding.
Yaks and mag will continue to fight for second, with db deciding who wins ultimately by who they attack during that time.
People will contiue to kitten on this forum about server x vs server y.
The only real way to hurt db would be for a double team during mags and yaks na prime. But, neither server makes alliances and hates them (cept yaks, i heard they are aligned with everyone at this point, at the same time), and i do believe both servers are really just looking for good fights, so will butt yeads with anyone and everyone.
And then the whole thieves and eles op, cake > pie, better tactics, , unclassy sportsmanship, fight club, gvg, guild x sucks, server y destroyed server z zerg with less players, yadda yadda yadda….
I think i got it all.
Hmm…also, everyone in the warband is changed to a charr. Anyone removed from the warband gains the title gladium (along with everyone but the one player getting killed).
Anyone challenging the leader must do so on a 1 v 1 basis in an arena, in which the victor may choose to kill, spare and stay in warband, or just kicked out (gaining gladium title).
Cant wait to see the title you get once you hit rank 9001.
Sigh, moved and unanswered. Time to google.
