Here is reason i think gods are no longer on this plane. Gods have a lot of magical energy , dragons are drawn to magical energies. So where ever gods are dragons would attack. I think it lines up with store of dragon who ate the sun legend. Why would the sun want to be in same area where dragon wants to eat them. Halloween celebration was complements of Grenth for those who don’t know giving Mad king portions of Underworld to use for festivities. They still have active presence.

Good point, i did the asura story line to round out achieves, and saw how dragons and their minions consume magic. Lets also not forget about zhaitan’s ‘mouths’ that ate magical artifacts. Then there is the lyss temple priest that says the gods have been consumed (though, thats supposedly a lie).

There are plenty of theories on the gods fate. Maybe they were eaten by one dragon each, not killed, but slowly being drained in the stomach. Killing zhaitan released one, bu they are too weak to return atm and recooperating.

Though, this falls flat sinc its been a year and all we killed was one dragon, the fate of the last god trap is really bleak. On tbe other hand, the first one being already too weak to appear is pretty sad. Either way, i hope its kormir.

I personally really want to progress the Order Stories.
I feel too big a deal was made about which Order you choose and then you had very few real Order missions until it became all about the Pact.
Those were the most fun!
Imo Order missions are a very good way of moving the PS onward.

Same here. As the leader of my warband for blood legion, i achieve that position then suddenly, pact business, and i have to hand it off to my partner. So much to be expanded on, but so little mentioned if it will be.

So, updates every two weeks, and living story is a success. But what about personal story? Will we ever get to usurp trahearne or watch him get eaten by a dragon? Will i get to go back to adcalon and deal with the flame legion with my warband? Or is the personal story basically dead and over?

I was fiddling with different specs and wrapons, moving gear between my bank and bags, but when i went to put on my primeval pants and shoulders, they were just gone! I checked bags and bank using the search feature, and they were no where to be found. I still have the other three pieces, but not the others. I checked the merchant incase i sold them, and not in the buy back either.

Before anyone suggests, yes, i checked my bags. Yes, I checked my bank, no, I didn’t sell them.

Just two pieces of my gear are gone from my character. They were part of the primeval set. i was testing new specs since the patch, putting stuff in and out of the bank, and those two pieces are gone.

Thing that kills games are haters. For some time i haven’t seen any constructive criticism, just whine, cry, rage, hating and all that stuff coming from frustrated ppl that expected the second Jesus Christ of MMOs.

If You have enough brain in Your head, You should know that all those manifesto trailers, developers talk etc is a marketing. If You really hyped Yourself so much, then You are a fail.

You should also understand that good chunk of ppl likes the desing decisions made by ArenaNet (for instance no, so called, gear progression from other MMOs). There are a lot of ppl who like this decision ArenaNet made, if it doesn’t appeal to You, it’s ok, we all have different tastes, but don’t doom this game only because it lacks features YOU like, while others don’t.

No kittenin developer can make perfect game, deal with it, there are too many ppl on the planet, with different tastes, i think even god if he existed would not be able to please all the ppl and fulfill their needs.

If You really are not happy with the state of the game atm, just move on, there are other MMOs with gear trademil, maybe when You get bored of them , You can come back and see the changes in GW2 by this time and if You like them then play the game if not? Well, noone will fit to Your needs.

If You want my opinion i want to have more competetive PvE, but with current gear progression i like rather to improve my real skills, not a illusion of skill covered by imba gear. Many so called hardcore players wouldn’t do kitten without their +123123123 stats on gear.

We have to wait and see what route ArenaNet will take with GW2 development, they see ppl want more permanent, challengable content, so probably they will deliver.

I was level 80 when southsun first appeared, already the second in command at fort trinity and having killed zhaitan.

Now southsun is more populated and updated, bug i am STILL just the second in command at fort trinity. Just with different armor.

Oh this game isn’t going to fail at all. But it also isn’t going to be the great game it could have been, and that everyone expected.

It’s well and truly going down that path of niche game. It’s far too clunky, antiquated, and bland to attract and keep a large crowd. I’m sure they’ll improve it over time, but I think they’ve already driven off too many people, who are now into other things.

See, i think this nails it on the head. I like the event systems, and not the whike ye ikde questing, where it was get quest from a, run to/collect/kill x of b, run back to a, only to continue to c, which is where b is.

But ither than that, after playing so long, nithing else just pops out. Nothing special or great. The trait system is basically an updated ski tree, while the abilities are ho hum, and really, there isnt much choice on which is better. A few skills stick out that you MUST have. I really really miss the skill capture feature. That was something different, for me at least.

The other thing is the world around me is progressing, but my charater isnt. Im still 2nd in command of the forces to kill the dragons, and really havent gone out to do anything else. Character wise, the story is really going downhill. Too much focus on the living world, that my character feels so dull.

I think anet played too cautious in the game, creating a blanket to stay safe, not offend anyone (see cantha).

Gw2 isnt bad, its become ok. Im still waiting for that ‘oh cool!’ Moment.

I know we are suppose to remember those brief moment characters that were to tug on our heartstrings during our personal story, and i know we had all those problems with a mad king, malfunctioning toys, flame and frost, and now aetherblades, but ya know, there are those other dragons out there, causing problems. We should really get back to that.

They either need to reduce the burst cd overall or make more traits better depending on adren. Cause at this rate, im going to always have a full bar, that the grandmaster crit and power traits are even moreso critical to have.

It’s not just the dungeon (though that could certainly use some work), it’s the build. If someone asks “what build should I run for PvE?” and there’s one universal answer then the build is probably in need of a nerf. That you can’t admit this doesn’t change the fact that the build is a no-brainer for PvE, and no-brainers are usually no-brainers for a reason.

Bingo, Thats It, I thank you, now how does one go about getting it? I am trying to decide which race I wanna play. If I can get this armor without much of a hassle, I am going with norm, if the armor is to big a pain in bottom, I will play a char.

Just an update on the situation. I had a friend whi has built computers before help, and after using my old card, found that yes, it was indeed the video card itself. So sending back since still under warrenty.

yep, game froze, everything went multicolored and blocky, then computer just froze. I can play metro: last light, LoL on max, and others, but gw2 crashes

welp, the problems are coming back once more. It only seems to happen the most with gw2

You may want to start with a check up of the internal bits. Verify that each piece is inserted or connected firmly and completely. (vid card, ram, etc) next, double-check the drivers for your vid card, make sure you have the newest drivers, maybe uninstall and re-install them.

I’m sure others will have thoughts too, but try starting with those.

done and done. I wasn’t using the newest drivers since i read in some places they were causing problems with gw2, but ill try the newest again. But everything is firmly in.

Ok, so recently I just built my first new computer. Everything was working great for awhile. But then gw2 would give me something where it looked like picaso barfed up a rainbow on my screen and I would have to reset the whole comp.

So i installed an order drive, thinking that was the problem since I read that on here and again, worked fine for awhile. Then it started again, but this time, it got worse. Not only was I have the gw2 issues, but when my computer would start up from a cold start after being shut down over night, I would have white lines over the screen. Then the computer wouldnt even boot properly but would keep resetting over and over until I turned it off.

Once I booted it again, no line, no constant booting, but windows 8 would run a diagnoses and just make me go back to a restore point. But even now, while trying to do that, gw2 is still acting up.

So is it the card? or did I just not do something right?

The mmo community is a diverse one, where it will never be truly satisfied. Beat some new content? We want the next stuff now. Something broken? We want it fixed yesterday. We seem to have it in our minds that things should be flawless immediately, when we forget they are only human and will make mistakes.

You also have to remember where a majority of the community comes from. WoW, rift, everquest, etc, where grind was a center piece. Then they are raids and the massive pve battles. There have been so many years of that repetitiveness that we believe any game without it can be consider ‘bad’ or ‘failing’. Yet at the same time, getting bored with the system. Really, if you think about it, we do have raids, the world boss events.

Im going to agree that gw2 is a transition from the old mmos and new ones. Im also going to say that many problems caused in the mmo genre was because no one wanted to leave the WoW box in design.

If anything, we shouldnt be yelling at anet to bring back the old stuff,suggest new ideas that would be neat to see in an mmo.

I’ve seen this posted before. It’s not unexpected. It’s been a pretty bad year for MMOs in general. I don’t really expect next year to be much better.

A lot of the problems with MMOs today is the unrealistic expectation of players. I’m not talking about people who want harder core games or more sand box features. I’m talking about people who go into games expecting them to be relatively bug free, or get updated faster than possible or have more content faster than is possible.

Anyway, the ESO fanboys will also come out in force, though we dont really know anything much about the gameplay, or how things work. Stuff can always change from now till next spring. I do think its interesting with being in first person, but i can see it becoming a nightmare with balancing issues forcharacters, since no classes.

The thing is, competiton is good, we need multiple good mmos out there trying different things. It keeps the market healthy. If anyrhing, i blame wow partly for the funk the mmo games have been in. They saw wow’s success, tried to copy it, and all became ‘meh’. Hopefully publishers are waking up, taking a step out of the 2o2 box and trying something new.

Honestly, the same can be said regarding Yak’s folks sitting ALL DAY on arrowcarts and cannons inside towers and not coming out to fight a solo thief who /beckons them.

YB does have an awesome community. Remember when they gave back the hacked Orb? That story made so many blogs. Even though Joebane is no longer there (he made the decision to give back the Orb), his decision was just a reflection of the ethos of the entire server. If my guild ever looks at going back to a mid tier server, Yaks Bend will be at the top of our list.

That or if a hacker took a tower, we would give it or another back for free.

Yeah…see? People want stuff now, not later. It has to be fixed now or more stuff now. Faster faster faster.

I see complaints everyday why something isnt fixed or added, whats taking so long, etc. So look at my list, the ops list, the bug forum or any forum. Complaints everywhere asking for something. Plus the teams own ideas they want to implement. Plus, they want to stay committed to a patch a month.

So, as i said. Fix everything and balancing everything while adding new content within a month’s time. I want to see someone do it.

I believe i read somewhere from someone who was in beta that the trait system was last thing implemented before release, so didnt get much testing.

Anet said they are going to be going over traits and redoing some, so why fix something bugged that may not be there in the future?
