Sooo…detecting people making gold from karma is quickly fixed, quickly spotting bug with unidentify dyes drop rates is fixed, noticing people using a recipe for unlimited ectos and fixing that, something just doesnt seem right here.

Plus, someone just linked an interview with colin, and now he says they are going to make vets and champs more rewarding! Wasnt that suppose to have been done in nov?

I see it as W3 is going to be messed up the next few weeks. With free transfers ending, some guilds are going to have to decide now if they want to move to one whole server. If a server has a bad NA pop time, some Oceanic guilds may move, and vice versa.

Speaking of which….yaks bend, still looking for Oceanic peeps for our W3 :P

About Loot drops.

Since the nov patch, there was a patch note saying champions and elites would drop better loot. They still do not. Major event chests, such as dragons, temples, and more, still give mostly blues and a rare once and awhile. Even all around loot seemed to be nerf for people farming (see thread https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Share-your-data-about-perceived-strange-drop-behavior-here/page/10#post1159377 which was made after getting a response from the mod).

My question is, did the patch note not make it through, is it bugged, is DR bugged, or was loot nerfed over all?

Well…since we are speaking of WoW….

Yes, Ashes of A’lar….a rare MOUNT that had a low chance to drop. A firey rainbow bird from the BT ages. i do miss 2s with my druid / x class combo, or rogue / mage….

In vanilla you had three legendaries:
Atiesh – Gather 40 splinters from mobs in naxx 40 (the rng grind part)
- Go to tanaris to continue this QUEST, talk to dragon (which you had to grind to be neutral with), go kill two bosses for more pieces.
- Then go to stratholme, cleanse the staff and kill another big boss

Thunderfury – QUEST starts by RNG off of boss, hoping bindings drop.
- Again, go gather some stuff, kill specific bosses, go to different areas, and have a raid kill another big boss.

Hand of Ragnaros – Starts with a rare drop, talk to some, CRAFT a weapon, then rare drop once more from final boss of molten core.

BT Legendaries
- All RNG drops

Now lets move on to Wrath of the Lich King….

Oh yeah, Lets see, first came Val’anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings, which was hoping for a drop from the Ulduar bosses, then doing a unique activity of throwing them into Yogg while he casts a spell and you have to have at least one keeper not helping you, k. Still a pain for RNG, but it had a quest in it.

Then we get to shadowmourn, which, was only available to pally, dk, warrior. And it started as….A QUEST CHAIN. And it had you kill x amount of mobs in the citadel, run around icecrown collecting items, finding arthas’ old hammer, etc. It had a nice amount of grinding yet at the same time, going off and adventuring to actually aquire it.

Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest, fangs of the father, they became quest starters that led to you grinding for some items, then questing for others.

So, only in BT were they just random drops to acquire a legendary. Vanilla and other expansions mixed in grind, rng, and questing to make one. And you know what? Not EVERYONE HAD ONE! Some people still didn’t care, never went for them, even though they were BiS. Hell, I still don’t have my shadowmourn I started back in Wrath because RNG hated me enough to not let fragments drop.

Now lets look at GW2’s legendaries….
Grind for badges, rng in hoping to get a bag and said bag has badges, and/or grind jumping puzzles.
Grind / RNG for ectos from rares
Grind for skill points
Grind / RNG for lodestones, t6 mats
Grind dungeons for tokens
Grind for karma, for RNG for clovers
RNG from mystic sink for a precursor, or Grind for money to buy one from someone who was lucky with RNG.

Or just spend gold and buy it off of the TP, cause thats REALLY Legendary!

A GW2 legendary is nothing but grind. Blizzard started with mixes of grinds and questing, then had a hiccup, and went back to grinding and questing.

Yes, I know, this is GW2, not WoW. They need to develope their own thing, but so far, this isnt working, and just kitten people off. In WoW, I saw everyone running around with the darkest, fiercest armor, and with mine also looking like that, I said screw it, and went and found out the brightest and prettiest (also most hilarious) pally armor I could find for my warrior. And I saw more people paying attention to me then instead of the dark forbrooding armor (was also a main target in pvp for some reason…). Some people like to play dress up and wont get a legendary cause it doesnt work with what they have in mind, others, like my friend who just dinged 80, can give two kittens about looks and just wants stats, and he has no intention, at all, of getting a legendary.

I’m just gonna do this now so it doesnt need to be said later in the thread. So waaaay ahead of all of you

And ive basically cut my play time to 15 min a day. Less when wintersday is over. I just log on now, do two jump puzzles and daily, then log off. I really came to this conclusion when i saw only 156 charged lodestones on the tp. If that doesnt tell anyone at anet anything is wrong, then nothing will.

I mean, i had fun at first, but now its just…a burden to kill things, to do big events when you know your reward is going to be crap.

Ya you guys were great. It really showed me how bad I am at group fights (I’m solo 90% of the time). I was playing them over in my head afterwards and realized that we (Stormgoddess was the other ele) were both playing like solos who happened to be in the same area rather than an actual duo. I was really impressed by how coordinated you two were and how you were helping each other out. I wanted to go back and fight you guys again but my internet died, and by the time I got back in you’d moved on.

BTW, Sword + Dagger + Beastmastery spec (0/0/30/10/30) + mostly PVT gear = a strong, durable Ranger with a powerful pet

Perhaps not as strong as Thief or D/D Ele, but far from weak.

YB has its share of skilled players. I’m not sure why you haven’t run into them.

For me, the highlight of WvW is roaming with a small, organized group. You can accomplish quite a bit sometimes. I was in a 5-man last night capping several camps and a tower. Great fun, with plenty of small-scale action.

Ya, I was definitely impressed about what you were able to do as a ranger, but still, it’s hard to go up against the sheer power of thief/ele/mesmer.

I’ll try running around YB borderlands more and see if I can find any good fights. So far, even when I’m in YB the good fights have come from EB, but you never know, maybe I’ve just had bad luck.

edit: /Sigh.. first run in Yak’s, four people chase me for well over five minutes to get the kill. Should have just left but kept hoping some would stop chasing, but nope. This is why I tend to avoid YB, all they do is chase you forever with a massive number advantage, or just run away if it’s even.

This is why they got stomped in Tier 3, because without having a major numbers advantage they were lost and didn’t know what to do.

None of the servers in this matchup were stomped in Tier 3.

The only reason a server moved from T3 to T4 was because CD had a blowout victory in T4 and had to move up. FA and Yak’s had less than a 10k point difference at the end of the match. Yaks even scored higher than FA at times.

FA has less of a population then YB does, this is what makes it funny!

YB had the least population out of TC/CD/FA/YB (it’s in that order). And they didn’t “get stomped” in T3. They did just as well compared to CD and FA.

It’s a sad state of affairs when YB are being branded as a zerg server with no skill in tier 4 because we considered them the exact opposite of that in T3.

I was farming mithril in Cursed Shore, just SE of Caer Shadowfain Waypoint. There were three nodes on top of the hill. I farmed one, and the other two just disappeared.

So I saw a GM in game today, and decided to ask him a question about the loot drops. He was very nice at least, but sad to say, it wasn’t his department to look into it. I at least told him to try and pass it along.

His advice was that this would make an excellent forum topic discussion >.>.

I mentioned there was one, 12+ pages long, with no response, but sadly, he no longer was responding to me then.

Again we can’t get balthazar temple done because the southern troop are bugged once more, standing idle in the middle of the road, not progressing towards the spot.

Been waiting two weeks for this to be fixed so I can work on my legendary.

Yeah….i think this shall be known as the death of these ‘epic one time events’. Rubberbanding for two whole minutes, cant rez people, cant hit abilities, dying when nothing is around me….yeah…

Sigh…great. The one game that really finally kicked me off of WoW is now being a clone of it. I hated the gear grind, I hated that I lost to someone not because they were better than me, but that they had better gear than me.

Now, instead of saving my money and progressing towards my legendary, i have to spend more time gearing up, and praying to the RNG gods to give me loot I actually need.

Next thing you’ll know, they’ll implement a group finder tool for said dungeons, the holy trinity will make its comeback as well, you’ll have to do dungeons a,b, and c in order to even step into d, we dont care if its a really cool dungeon, go gear grind in order to get into it.

I sent out one invite for the free trial already, telling my friend that there was no gear grind other than for cosmetic, he seemed excited for that. Now what am I gonna tell him? I don’t even think I am going to send the other two now to try and bring more people in. People want a break from the WoW standard of mmos. For kittens sake gaming companies, stop copying!

Been farming for a few hours in my MF gear, and suffice to say…I keep getting drops now. I know there was a massive ban wave to get rid of bots, did they remove the hidden farming CD now so actual people can get mats?

I would like to apologize to my fellow yak’s bend for not being there this week due to halloween. And here it seems to have been a good week too

Last friday, I was really excited playing wvwvw. The match seemed close, and it was really anyone’s game. It continued a bit into saturday, and I was still excited. It seemed to be a good match, and a close one. FINALLY, a close match! Not a blow out!

Then I get home from work sunday and drop jawed at the screen. SoR controlling over 80% of the map? wtf happened? I asked around, and apparently we were outnumbered, etc etc, guilds transfering to SoR.

So great, I didn’t even bother going into WvWvW the rest of the week, no point, no fun.

What Anet needs to do is start making server transfers cost something now, or stop them altogether except free ones to lower populated servers. I mean, the rating system is basically pointless until that happens. As an example, what if all the people on JQ (since it was mentioned in this thread, just using them as an example), came to yak’s bend? JQ’s rating would plummet the rest of the weeks and yak’s bend would grow until it happened again.

And I know, I know, the server transfer prob wont stop till guesting is implemented. Until then, might as well go back to 24hr matches. Data and ranking at this point are skewed. Start anew once transfers arent free.

I think its getting worse. I was questing in Wayfarer Foothills, and litterally, 10 hunters all running around together in circles around Twinspur Haven Waypoint, killing everything. Half were naked of course, and most of their names were just 4-5 letter words that were, of course, random letters.

I reported what i could of course, but it was hard enough to keep up and not get confused by double reporting the same bot.

So anyone else busy reporting all those bots who are just spamming keys over and over at events, like the one at the wrecking yard in the charr starting area, or at the Penitent waypoint?
