You know what could’ve been a better feature than mounts?
A build template system so we can swap builds and gear faster.
Or gvg
But…ya know…mounts
Waypoints are faster.
Waypoints might be faster but unless you’re not planning to move away from the waypoints then you’ll need to run from there to where you’re going, or use a mount. And mounts are faster than running. A lot faster.Mounts make you move twice as fast!
Btw we doubled the distance between locations…
Faster mounts accomplish nothing?
Not really. Those mounts are so fast that crossing from the bottom of the map to the northernmost point we can reach was a very short time. In fact, I was thinking they make that large map seem too small because they cover ground so quickly.
Then they only re-did a problem they were having before. Remember WHY waypoints were becoming more scarce? So dying had impact in a fight. So you couldnt just bull rush a boss with death after death.
So even with the few waypoints in the area, with the mounts, its better to just die, WP, run back with mount than worry bout surviving or rezzing people.
Back to square one
And remember, it’s not just the new expansion maps that will have mounts. It’s all the maps, including all the vanilla maps with their many waypoints.
Goody. That makes the content even more trivial. Any new players wont be able to make it to events in time unless they too buy the expansion.

Agree with lordhelmos above.
There really is nothing “new”. Sure, a polarizing mount system, but that’s almost like copying and pasting gliding. And an ammo system that came out of nowhere.
There was no revamping of old systems that needed it (weapon skills, tokens from dungeons, for example).
The story is in shambles with the hard jerk towards Balthazar. Auriene forgotten, pale tree status unknown (last being stable), hearing about brahm but never experiencing it, rox has disappeared fom the story (I honestly don’t know when she was last mentioned after the funeral), and the now running joke of what happened to rytlock in the mists (that’s even acknowledged in game the frustration people have had for over two years now).
All for “here is a big bad from gw1! Joking! It’s the god Balthazar! But you get to kill the guy anyway in a real hurry!”
And I can already tell there will be some ‘great’ twist to who the herald is.
Seriously anet, even m. Night shyamalan is like ’whoa, too many twists
This isn’t an expansion. This is DLC
I played for maybe 30min before i got bored and logged off.
First off, i understand there are some things not turned on for the beta, like in HoT. But I was also in the HoT beta and there a few weeks after release. I very much remember the threads of “I’m bored, there is nothing to do, etc”.
I’m having great deja vu already.
The mounts were what I expected, but throw me off when turning. They seem to jerk so much going left or right i feel i pushed a key too hard somehow. And of course, because of mounts, there is just added padding blank space with nothing but enemies I am just riding by. Its just pointless filler.
did the man-eater bounty while fighting a respawning hydra and a patrol, along with another person, didn’t go down once as a necro reaper.
Finally, the teasing of Rytlock in the mist story is kittening me off. And the trolling by anet with the meta of my character KNOWING the players are getting kittened off just made me not care anymore. Its been drawn out too long.
3. I actually like this. So I have to be contrary to your opinion here. Having the environment so large feels engaging and even more grand than before.
Hm, yes, truly engaging and magnificiant…
1. Customizable weapon skills. We’ve been using the same attacks for the same weapons since launch. It’s stale.
2. Additional classification for weapons. Instead of just the weapons, have weapon types (bludge, slash, Pierce) and incorporate into the skill tree for more diverse builds.
3. Weapon masteries. Instead of a line for mount masteries, why not with weapons? Unlock more abilities or enhanced bonuses.
So ppl are mad that..we now are getting a object that aids us in getting into certain areas and gives us a bit more mobility? the announcement vid talked about the utilities the mounts had which to my knowledge wow, tera, rift, eso and a few others dont have/use.
people are getting upset that we..are getting something other mmos have? man next you will say we will get dungeons and story like the classic rpg dnd games ge..oh wait. yall need to get off your high horses (cuz clearly you dont want to ride it) and realize that if this is a deal breaker then clearly your focused on the wrong entertainment in the game. Like everything els isnt a issue but oh getting to ride something in a game with tanks and airships while fighting dragons as a salad man shooting rainbow unicorns out of a bow you’ve got a skewed view of things
Name one ability a mount has that couldn’t have been added to gliders or solved by glider mechanics (updrafts, leylines, etc)
I like the idea of mounts because they make it easier to navigate the in-between areas of waypoints. Hugely beneficial in some of the Orr maps.
Except they doubled the distance, essentially making it moot
Wow people can always be so negative. Regarding your “contras:”
I remember playing gw1 and not being able to jump, swim, and constantly hitting invisible walls. Don’t you dare say anyone traveled in gw1. Gw2 is traveling, and I thought the mounts looked really fun. Gliders don’t make you go horizontally, and i’m kind of tired of seeing layline everywhere. I’m happy with this and the fact that you will be able to move faster. Waypoints are nice, but I like exploring sometimes and this will be best for that.
It makes no sense to go to Cantha right now. Anyone who has looked at the main map since launch knew we were going to Elona before Cantha because where we are going is already on the map.
The story seems a lot better than HoT. We go from “oh look, we kill another dragon just like the first game” to rogue god with an unclear purpose. We knew what Mordy wanted and how he wanted to do it ever since Scarlet showed up. We don’t know what is driving Balth. Why does he want to be the only god now? Why does he think what happened to Abaddon won’t happen to him?
This is the closest thing anet has done to stirring up interest in Abaddon in a long time, a god who many players want to see return as the main, or a main antagonist despite them saying he is “dead dead.”
This expansion looks great! And I’m SICK OF THE JUNGLE environments so I’m happy!
Wow, people can always be hyped no matter what (see the irony?).
You like to explore- fine, but one could already do this. They announced “5 new maps, bigger than anything we added before”. And since they are “so big” they add mounts. I’m quite sure they could have scaled the maps smaller so one wouldn’t need mounts to get around in a reasonable time. So this leaves me with the impression "we felt we need to add mounts to feed that (somewhat very vocal) part of the community a carot so they keep playing, and to justify this move, with simply make the new maps bigger.
This all sounds to me like a big waste of ressources for adding mounts just for the sake of adding mounts, even though they could have delivered the same stroy experience without it.I agree, moving to Cantha wouldn’t have made much sense right now story wise, yet me and a lot of others still wished for it. Elona is okay, yet one should be allowed to prefer Cantha.
I’m not saying the story will be bad, in fact I’m glad it’s not just “go kill the next elder dragon”, but with the way the last epsiodes of the LS were presented, they better make a big step forward in story telling.
€: all in all it seems as we’re getting a new full LS story line but have to pay for it this time, with mounts being the justification for it. Leaves a bad taste for me :/
Basically, we could’ve had 10 maps, but because of mounts, we got 5 huge ones.
You think you are traveling double the speed, but the distance double. So you literally just saved 0 time
Oh yeah how I miss the times where I was optimistic that in future Arena Net would fit the story to your Characters decisions, race and gender etc …… like the previous Story-Chief told us at the annocement event for HoT …..
I really happy that I didnt play that episode with my lightbringer. That would be kind of an awkward conversion with my bosses.
“So Lightbringer, I heard you have managed your way into the inner circle of the shining blade. Noticed anything which might conflict with the goals of the order?”
" I am sorry sir, I am not allowed to tell you that. I promised to never tell any secrets or try to harm kryta or the queen."
“And if someday kryta decides to rekindle the war with the Charr Legions, destroy the order of whispers and seek for world domination, then …. "
" I will keep silent and stare intensively, like I have promised."
“Lightbringer, please follow me. We have to do an intensive conversation about secrets and loyalties ….. "
This
You did when you made the changes that could be made as if they’d be nothing to implement.
I said let’s put a picture on that wall, Serophous replied with “You obviously have no idea about interior design if you think refurbishing a room is easy!”
To your first post, overly complicated =/= easy to implement. It’s getting it to work.
Again, I’d encourage you to try UE4 yourself and see how the more systems you are, they harder to maintain and ensure they work becomes.
But let’s use your picture analogy.
Just hang it on a wall…? Are you taking in consideration that else is in the room? Are you going to hang it close to the ceiling? Floor? Behind something?
As a programmer, I hate vague answers. They lead to a project that won’t meet the customers expectations because they’ll suddenly remember new details or features that need added. Causing more work and delaying time to get to other projects
So, you don’t just hang a picture on a wall. You take into consideration of everything in the room and what can be behind a wall, before hanging a picture
I’ve been messing in UE4 to build a simple game, and when people say it would be an easy install, show they know nothing of programming
There would be checks to see if out of combat
Checks for what to do if in middle of respecting and go into combat, what to do if they did, etc.
Making sure the refund works, gives back proper amount, correctly functions if hit before confirming.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg. I didn’t get into database storage, upgrading tables with new columns when new specializations come out, ensuring expandability etc
Explain again how this is “easy”?
Humans followed by Norn.
I can go to any other game and get the same story with humans and other races. I get it’s because majority of players need a race to relate to humanly, but then give a better story.
Norn only slightly less because im partial to the Norse mythology. Other than that, large humans, so meh.
Though norns also get best mustache in the game
Yeah, after the opening chapters of the personal story, race does just become cosmetic. Unfortunately the armour designs help to remove the distinction between races even more.
I’ve long since stopped noticing the more minor continuity issues with playing a charr. I play Ash legion as well, and when I think about it the story is riddled with them.
- The three orders – Forgal treats you like a fresh recruit, despite having a lifelong military background. Tybalt’s idea of spying is an embarrassment and realistically he’d be the one following directions of an Ash expert. Sieran’s failure to respect authority would be so objectionable to a charr that she wouldn’t be working with one past the first mission.
- Rytlock would not be assigning Iron or Ash soldiers to any of the orders. That’d be the job of their respective tribunes. Ash would expect intel in return – yet we never hear from Desertgrave again. For 4 years.
- After defeating Zhaitan, you’d figure a charr would report back to their legion before running around the countryside chasing Scarlet’s minions. It’s practically like the legions forgot our characters exist.
- Ditto after Mordremoth. And Caudecus (this one would be particularly important given the treaty).
I’d have to go through the personal story line-by-line to find all the places where the dialogue doesn’t sound right for a charr, so I won’t do that here. Let’s just say that the last episode had too many… for anyone familiar with charr lore, the reason is obvious.
I don’t think retconning past problems away makes any sense from a business perspective, but I’d like to hope that ANet can throw in the odd branch here and there in future just to give the character more grounding in its world.
I think it goes some Charr are permitted to leave the legions permanently, and not be labeled gladum.
I mean, other Charr left and joined the orders (one being a founder) or don’t deal with the black citadel anymore.
I assume the rules and laws laxed a bit over time, especially after the treaty.
Every arguement in favor of raids is a bad arguement in your eyes blaeys.
Once again, not true in the least. I am not, nor have I ever been, anti raid. I simply have a different perspective on what raiding needs to be in the game than you do.
And the topic is important to me because of my guild and my friends. I (and many others) see a need for change – and I will advocate for that change every chance I get.
If I actually hated raids, this wouldn’t be nearly as big an issue. The fact that the story/aesthetics/fight mechanics are as interesting as they are is the very reason there needs to be greater accessibility. If they were boring or poorly done, I wouldnt care near as much as I do now.
i would also advocate for a change for the open world to be harder everywhere for more presigious abd hard to get things to exist and ingeneral rewarding you basednon effort you have put in. But i dont because i understand that the game works diff in diff areas amd i see and respect. Se way i respect raids as a rhing in game that works on its own rules and pll have grown to love them for that. Why cant you no raider came to annoy you or knock on your door why should you on theirs?
I actually agree that there should be more difficult content options in open world – and I think there are ways that could be done fairly easily (I even proposed one I would LOVE to see them implement in another thread recently).
But, aside from that, it is obviously much easier to do this kind of tiered content in instance game modes (again, fractals as an example). Given that accessibility isn’t an issue with open world in the same way it is with raids, it makes sense to focus on solving the problem as it pertains to raids.
And – I am a raider. I run raids every week. I just think they fail on the accessibility front – and that addressing that would be good for both the game and the game mode. Please – everyone – focus less on the players posting and more on the actual conversation. It is way more productive.
Wades through the horrible amount of threads right after HoT launch of whines about how the game has become to hard, some of which are still created today.
Making open world content challenging is not the way to go.
I’d much prefer challenging content to stay optional instanced content and leave open world for every one who just wants to chill. That’s also the path arenanet seems to be taking and it has worked fine so far. If people would mind their own business a bit more instead of encroaching on game modes they do not enjoy everyone would be better off.
Hahaha so true!
And during beta, till a later patch, it was even HARDER
(early days of gw2)
The commander survived the fall, I should too!
My mistake, that at least lessons the content drought approx 3months
Season finale of S3 next week
HoT price reduced permanently
Expansion announcement either end of May or early June.
So content drought till release sometime during holiday season
Or it’s GW3
SAB is fine as a festival.
But it is a half finished festival.
Which isn’t fine
I’ll step in real fast with some history
At release, Orr was pretty hardcore with dense mob populations
It was nerfed by decreasing the mob pop because players hated it.
Then came the karma invasion, which people would get owned quickly if they didn’t know how to dodge
I believe this too was nerfed because of player feedback.
Jump ahead to Hot beta, the mobs were A LOT stronger than what they are today. Going in as zerk against three normal mobs could’ve been seen as suicidal.
This was nerfed the next beta test week unexpectedly, which annoyed the beta testers, but let’s face it. Looking at the current record, they would’ve been nerfed anyway post release
As a necro, I beat the fight on my first attempt, but it was a chore
The knockbacks weren’t bad till a Jade showed up, then it was crazy unfair.
But the worse offender was it being in such a small room and fighting the camera. Couldn’t see to dodge at times as my camera was constantly adjusting. If it was slightly bigger, I don’t think it would’ve been as bad.
I did as a berserk reaper btw
Cheesey meat bit from meatoberfest. I had to stop and laugh.
Or the cattlepult. I honestly thought “spelling mistake? Oh no…No..It’s literal…”
I have a friend, I wish to buy her GW2 for from website. How can I do that since billing info will be mine?
I’m not sure if they updated it, but when i bought it for a friend, i had to use my own card.
Remember the last time the humans had to defend their main city?
Perhaps history is repeating itself….>:p
Simply put, it’s boring.
Spvp – you don’t run the meta? Get out. There really is no fun to it when everyone is running the same spec 99% of the time. In open world PvE, I can face a boss as one spec, and try a new spec the next time.
Then there’s the toxicity in chat. Yeah, that’s always fun.
Lack of cooperation. It’s a team based mode but too many people want to be the hero. Why should I put up with that frustration? Sure, it happens in open PvE too, but at the same time, because a player knows how a meta works, it has a better chance to succeed. Has any ever noticed that meta event maps get easier as time goes on? Where there is less failing to always succeeding? (Note, not counting bugs or glitches here).
And let’s face it, losing over and over and over just wears you down and makes you feel like crap.
As for WvW, I feel it never panned out how anet wanted it to. To me, whoever is in first, the other two would gang up on. But instead, it seems the top two beat down on the little guy for resources and once in awhile scrimmage to fight for first.
It got old real fast.
Eh, I still say one thing anet should consider is moving from focus on specific weapon, to a class.
Such as blades, blunt, range, so at least the benefit of getting might with a critical with a sword instead of just greatsword
2) Your rating is not a pure measure of your skill MMR in a team based game is, and always will be a measure of your ability to win matches.
Just to build upon this:
There are a lot of different facets to ‘ability to win matches’. Players can be good at winning duels or winning team fights or picking winning fights or fighting on the right points or rotating between points or playing good builds for the meta or swapping to the right build for the match-up or filling in effectively to balance your team composition or playing hard every game or not tilting or encouraging teammates and keeping people focused.
Or a whole lot of things I didn’t mention in that run-on sentence above.
The difference between a pro-level player and an experienced but middling journeyman (say, gold level) player isn’t that the pro is a bit better at all of these things. It’s almost always the case that the pro is good at almost all of these things, while your middling, experienced player is good (sometimes even pro-level!) at some of these things, and just a dumpster fire at others.
Good but not great players include people that can beat everyone they face in a 1v1 but are constantly engaged in bad fights (trying to kill a guardian on a fully capped point with their thief), people who can’t win a duel for the life of them but pick teamfights they can contribute to well, people who know a single trick (condi mesmer that always goes far!) that sometimes dominates and sometimes feeds, people who often play well but tilt and throw as soon as something goes badly (thus losing games that could be recovered and won).
The really insidious part of this? If you are one of those players, you’re probably really focused on the parts of your game that you are good at, and blind to those that are holding you back. You’re also blind to the good things your teammates are doing (that you are not good at), while their flaws (in areas that are your strengths) are on full display.
Which is why you think your teammate (with the same MMR and similar match win performance) is terrible, and why that teammate thinks that you are terrible. It’s why there’s a pretty big range of play (generally the 75th to the 95th percentile, roughly) that is just an utterly miserable rage-fast, a bunch of skilled but fundamentally flawed players picking at each other’s faults.
If you want to get better, don’t look at that ‘scrub’ with the same rating as you in disbelief. Figure out what he’s doing that you aren’t – because, odds are, that’s what’s holding you back.
slow clap
Can we sticky this?
I don’t see it as a joke. I think its actually quite nice that they put something in the game that took months to figure out. Its boring when people rush through all of the new content within hours. Absolutely boring. Who the hell really cares if its just an ascended ring or not? Its a fun distraction to do
Like the new weapon skin awhile back that took months. Everyone trying to find that ONE karma vendor
I was reading a book, and I wondered what was on the last page and IT SPOILED EVERYTHING!
WHY DO THEY DO THIS?!
Hasnt Anet stated in the past that they take their tim investigating bot reports so as to be able to nab entire networks of botters at once?
Not just anet, many do.
Companies just wait till they can get enough info on how the bot works so they can identify it easier, then ban them all at once.
Hence ban waves.
Ehhh….seems more on par with the airship ticket to me.
Convient, but not needed
The first ever PvP mastery!
Tier 1 Salt – by raging at your opponents and teammates while losing, as you walk, salt partials drop from your character
Tier 2 More Salt – Your saltiness increases as now not only are opponents and teammates victims, but the lobby hears your salty rants on a daily basis. When defeated in a map, your opponent gets a bag of salt.
Tier 3 Even More Salt – the devs and forums are no longer safe from your saltiness as you spam how losing isn’t your fault and devs don’t know how to balance a simple game. Players near you suffer a debuff of “high blood pressure” which only warns them how salty you are.
Tier 4 You Are Salt – you become a block of salt, unable to attack, defend, move, or talk
My herald with that new Bloodstone crown. I kinda think it looks more glint themed with blue crystals and stuff.
Daaang, I like
I dont know if you are still taking offers, but i figured you may want a bit difficulty if something was strapped on the face. Also, if you are open to commissions, i’ll gladly take a spot
I think i’m doing this right. I mean, the first one is probably more your style…the second i dont know if many will get…
One thing I’ve been wondering about. I get most of my mystic forge stones from the achievement chests. If you’ve been capped for some time do you run out of the mf stones and can’t make the mystic salvage kits or do you get enough from other sources?
If you run out, buy from bltc
You’re looking at it wrong.
The ap cap isn’t a catch up method, it’s a slow down method to consistent players. It allows anet to not worry about ap rewards constantly since once someone hits the daily cap, their progress along that line will slow dramatically.
It just allows anet to have more time when deciding on rewards further down the line for AP, and put developer time elsewhere.
Cause once someone gets all the skins, they’re gonna have to find better rewards.
Off topic:
Got a good laugh in this thread of people who can’t read the OPs post. Gg.
On topic: just pants for leather wearers. Tune down the trenchcoat.
Armor that fits well on Charr.
This is why it’s hard for devs to communicate. When they say “you” people take it to heart rather than the whole player base. They look for a majority that was liked and brought it over. Its impossible for a gaming company to go through each and every single thing that someone liked from the old game or was thought of as fun.
Cause I bet there is someone out there who loved the GW1 death penalty system and we’re mad it wasn’t brought over either.
But one thing that would be really cool to bring back in some shape or form… skill hunting. I really did appreciate that part of GW1. It was nice to go on a little adventure to find a better version of a skill that you already have. I liked downloading a template, seeing I have 5 blank spots and having to work to fill them. I guess we have that to some extent with the elite specs, and I’m not sure how A-net would be able to work in skill hunting in general… but I just like adventuring :P
NO.
Nonono.
They tried that with the first trait rework. It was horrible and didn’t work. Even if they pertained it to skills this time, it still wouldn’t (wait times for events to spawn, wvw wanting alternate ways to get them, etc).
Just, let the capture system go
It’s a scary thought that kids these days don’t know what actual p2w is…
I mean, by today’s perceived definition, just buying the game is p2w and buying any expansions is p2w.
That means GW1 was p2w
(edited by Serophous.9085)
Because they would have to completely revamp nodes and rewards.
People would have an easier time to server hop for loot. People already do this for auric basin, and districts would only make it easier.
Even if they did the whole “one chest per account”, that wouldnt still work with harvesting nodes, since they spawn differently.
Then there’s holiday events, and events with large amount of mobs for loot…etc.
You see how this can be exploited?
You know, despite his unpopularity to some people (myself included), it’s kinda weird that he didn’t get a send off.
We visited Eir’s funeral, but trahearne got nothing. I can understand it not being a sylvarie tradition, but the pact would’ve done something I thought
I will concede from the beginning that I am a tad obsessive, so bear with me, I am going to try and address these comments line by line.
Then you haven’t been paying attention. Like, at all. Or worse, you have but you’ve deluded yourself into thinking what’s been very clear, very obvious to everyone for years isn’t actually so. If you had been paying attention, or if you’d been capable of being honest with yourself, these are some of the changes in direction you would have noticed:
– “everyone should have the best statistical gear by the time they hit level 80” -> ascended gearColin straight up acknowledged that they were changing from idea of having the best gear by lvl 80. He explained their logic in an interview post. I would be hard pressed to find it now but I certainly remember it. That goal is no longer the case with ascended gear
- “cosmetic skins are the end game” -> more and more weapon and outfit skins added to the cash shop
This game is still very much about cosmetics, and the fact that ANET has in the past and continues to add outfits and various skins in the gemstone does not detract from that. It is part of their business model and if the game is going to continue, they have to be able to make a profit off the gem store. However they continue to release A LOT of various skins available by playing and completing various content.
As for skins being end game, I will address that in the following comment.
- “we don’t make grindy games” -> masteries and gates in HOT
– “have fun now, not later” -> masteries and gates in HOT
– “we’re fine if you take breaks from our game” -> limited availability of LS season 1The community was very vocal about needing additional endgame content & progression. The frequency that I see these kinds of comments makes me wonder if most people either don’t know about the CDI or have already forgotten about it. I would suggest you go reread them but there are collectively over 20k posts so a comprehensive read through is prohibitive at this point. But you might try skimming them to get a feel for what we as a community asked for. So much of the design in HoT progression (i.e. masteries and elite specs) is exactly what was discussed in those CDI regarding endgame progression. Some (like me) like it, others hate it but either way I think it is unfair to lay this entirely on ANET when they were very intentionally trying to provide what the community asked for, much in the way that it was requested.
- “the only criteria for our content is ‘is it fun?’” -> run around a zone in a giant zerg auto-attacking for stacks of bags of loot
If you don’t find it fun, don’t do it! Fun is an exceptionally difficult target because of such a diverse population of players. They do what they can with mechanics to keep game encounters diverse but collective gamer ingenuity supersedes that of developers simply because of the absolute numbers. I will make a generalization here and apologize if it offends. Overall Gamers are lazy, we prefer the easiest/most effective way to do things which is how metas evolve and game mechanics devolve, some gamer finds the easiest way to do something and it catches on. Hence Zerging.
However some of this is also learned from the community. In part this goes back to the LS1 and the map wide events that were popular. Part of developing HoT was providing more map wide events in hopes that they would be similarly enjoyed.
- “we want our players to work together in DEs” -> those of you who want Legendaries must compete with players who just want to complete DEs as intended
They have aid repeatedly that they DON’T want dynamic events to be the cause of discord and competition among players. The event complete vs. event fail conflict is an unintentional flaw in the design that they work to fix where it is brought up.
There are more examples, of course (many of them), but I suspect this has illustrated the point adequately enough.
Yes the game has changed over the past 4 years. Yes there are plenty of changes from the original implementation that you have not mentioned here. However I do think you have entirely neglected the role of the community on that process. That almost certainly will not appease those who hate the changes, but I think that ANET should not be on the receiving end of inflammatory rhetoric about changes as if they had enacted those changes entirely one sided.
As someone else mentioned previously, the game has to change over time. Whether one considers that a change in direction and vision of the game is subjective.
Anet did, “enact those changes entirely one sided.” Unless you can provide an example of a non-dev enacting the changes. “What the community asked for,” means, “what a relatively few people asked for.” Anet made decisions, acted on them, and the results are a mixed bag.
Yes, like when everyone was crying for the old capture system for skills to come back. Constant forum posts on it, supporting it.
We got it and it was horrible.
Don’t think the community is perfect. If any makes a decision based on feedback, is any 100% at fault? Really?
Honestly, they should’ve just reused Scarlets invasion at this point.
Localized event spawns of blood crazed mobs, kill enough with in the time limit, get the boss to spawn and kill.
Only problem would be the event taggers
Honestly, why not just make it like Scarlets invasion event again? Cept creatures turning into bloodstone crazed mobs?
Honestly, I would say the content drought was the second biggest problem (HoT being the first). You CANNOT go nine months after a release of adding nothing. Three or four tops, but any more and you are shooting yourselves in the foot.
The content is new. There’s no reason anyone has to do every creature in one night. Ther’s no real reason to do every creature at all, unless you have absolutely nothing else to do or you’re so crazy about achievement points that you MUST do this event.
If you want the reward for the event, do the event, and take your time. If you don’t want the reward for the event ignore it.
In a week’s time the schedules will be down pat, the moa will be buffed (the only what that dies slow) and people will not even remember these comments.
But you know, it’s day one of a new series of events. Why does everyone feel they have to get everything done on day one and why do they make it sound like the end of the world when they can’t?
That said, I got it all done today anyway. lol
I agree getting it done in one day is a bad mindset to have. I’ve been tossing it aside and been enjoying the game more.
HOWEVER, the implementation of this is sorely lacking. Killing random mobs for so long, unknowing when the boss will spawn (or has spawned and you are wasting time) is boring. What’s worse is getting it to spawn, then not getting there in time to either tag or view the boss, thus making all that time spent killing wasted.
That’s the issue I’m having ATM.
