It takes two to tango. There is limited space in gaming shops and there would have to be sufficient demand in Australia to justify stocking cards.

That’s the issue.

I spoke to EB games, which is also here aswell as in the US. And they told that the cards are registered in the system, but the head office hasn’t received the stock, and from there all the distributional crap happens. I was also told this by some of the staff who actually play the game aswell, and who have been checking in within the company in regards to when they’re coming out aswell as other sources on the net and off.

Sure they’re in the system. That’s nice and all. But pointless if they’re not physically coming in. And the fact that they’re in the system means at the very least, A-Net has an intention to release them at some point. I just hope they do it soon because this has been the situation for over 3 months now where you’ve got this record of a product that isn’t actually coming in.

Sylvari and the forest dragon

in Lore

Seven Star Stalker.1740

I kinda felt the same way. I’ve seen most people say, “Oh, that’s a manifestation of the dragons” but the key thing is that if you look in the dream, you;

A) Have ethereal risen fighting ethereal non-risen. If there was to be manifestations of dragon minions, they could just as well have used those or any other variant.

B) Have Nightmare hounds. I honestly cannot see what association nightmare hounds have with the Branded, Zhaitan or Destroyers.

C) Have a forest theme dragon, which Caithe explicitly addresses with, “Destroy the NIGHTMARE before it takes root.” If the nightmare manifests strongest in the form of a Dragonesque variant.. That should account for something that’s being implied, and doesn’t seem to subtley either.

Combine that with all the other evidence that’s floating around, I’m pretty sure we have some kind of general idea of where this is suppose to lead to. But that said, we’ve yet to actually see much of anything else on that matter so I’m actually quiet curious to se how this goes.

What I think is the case is the nightmare dragon is kind of doing what the SoS are with Jormag. It’s probably twisting their ideals to suit its standards (assuming its a he). The other idea I thought of however was this possibility;

Perhaps it’s simply dividing the Sylvari by that corruption, because keep in mind, unless it’s special and what not, it’s ultimately not going to be able to do much to them beyond that, and the nightmare court themselves don’t seem any more intrested in the dragons than the normal Sylvari. Divide and conquer via the nightmare minions it can control.

Or it could be simply since it is a dream world, thus a world not govern by normal law of nature, the Dragon is a manifestation of a generic fear in all Sylvari. The Elder Dragons are these creatures that can literally destroy the world if they wanted to, this would definitely frighten any of the races. Or it could be the Nightmare Court engineered the nightmare to take the form of a dragon, believing that such a strong form will have a better chance of taking root and converting the non-nightmare sylvari to the nightmare court’s desires.

The first point is kinda.. Eh.. It’s a really lame card to pull out, and given the dream is a collection of Sylvari memories and knowledge, it makes little sense that a memories would defy the laws of nature from which they are recorded. But I suppose you’re right to some degree in that sense because the dream does reveal the past, the potential future and the present.

Also, I think you’ve forgotten that the Nightmare isn’t something the Nightmare court Engineered, nor can they really manipulate it, just as (for the major part) the Pale Tree Sylvari can’t really do so either, which is why the Nightmare court do actually want to take claim over the Pale Tree.

Of course, keep in mind we know little about the nature of Mordremoth so we don’t actually have entirely full confirmation that it’s the one dealing with the Nightmare. As I did mention.

They need to actually give better punishments for failing events.

Rewards are fine as they are. But as it stands, there’s very little repercussions for failure. So people can indefinitely farm and give no kittens because nothing’s gonna happen to them because literally nothing significant does. A good example of what they need to implement is the temple-statue mechanic in Orr, or something actually punishing like that.

August 20th Event Gemstore Purchases

Seven Star Stalker.1740

I’d actually say no, I don’t.

And not because of the whole ‘NOO THEY’RE LIMITED EDITION AND WON’T BE SPECIAL ANYMORE QQ’, but rather, simply because Gems are still not internationally available as efficiently :|

I live in Australia and I still can’t get gem cards. Now I know there’s the counter argument for saying, “Oh, but you have credit card, and of also have gold-gem conversion” but really neither of those are sufficient because;

a) Credit cards are afflicted by currency exchange, meaning that whilst its $10 for 1000 gems for someone else, it’s $13ish for 1000 gems which is whilst small, a no less a financial handicap I have to deal with which will realistically hinder my capacity to purchase things.

And

b) I can’t afford gems via gold. Yes, I’m poor. And not great at farming. But QQing isn’t gonna solve that so I’m not going to beg or whine, but ultimately that still serves as an offshoot disadvantage I have simply because I’m an Aussie player.

And the thing is, this isn’t like ping, where they need to make a server. I’d rather they have a big sale like this when EVERYONE has the fullest extent to purchase gems, as opposed to some people having less means and more burdenous means than others.

How do you do it? The inconsistent nature of Elixir R(?)‘s stability is really irritating in this match up, and your elites are kinda lack luster seeing as their design contradicts your style. Im finding even with stun breakers, it’s impossible to do anything once you use up your elixir stability (Assuming it doesn’t stealth you instead) and your elite, if you didn’t use it up in the first few seconds. I’m playing an Asura aswell as the giant suit elite is useless in this instance too. And I haven’t any other 80s. Does anyone have any advice, because it gets frustrating to never be able to knock her below 50% health due to knockbackdown spams.

Seven Star Stalker.1740

Again, no, that’s not the case because value was already ascribed to it in the case of candy corn. It was listed as a crafting material for Runes of the Mad King. So holding onto it meant in the long term you could use them. There were also other uses, to be fair.

Zhaitaffy, baring the single achievement, had one use, and that was for farming your tray to the holowings. So again, there was still a case of prescribed value there for immediate usage.

The end result is still the same. There’s tons of people who sold Candy Corn the months between Halloween and Zephyr Sanctum for like 5c., and couldn’t cash in on it when it jumped to 20c when the update hit. People lost potential money because they didn’t hoard.

This is the precedent I’m talking about. Anet suddenly giving items value much greater than what it was previously, leading to people losing out potential gold if they didn’t not hoard. Whatever you think or however you want to categorize Candy Corn/Zhaitaffy, it still does not change this fact.

No, again, it is completely different, and really this is the last time ill say it because you’re obviously not understanding anyway. With the support tokens, you couldn’t do anything with them but put them in the respective ballot boxes.
With zhaitaffy, you can still use them to buy stuff. Efficient? So cares. Doesn’t change the point. Same with candy corn. You can go craft your runes and stuff. And there was always a prescribed value or use. But with the tokens, once you were done with the achievements you’d use them for, there was NOTHING you could do with them but delete them. So all they would do is sit there doing nothing.

And the things is, you can’t sell your tokens that have been voted. You can only sell the unvoted ones. Which means the less you participated, the better profit you make really, assuming you didn’t destroy them in the first place.

Please cite the precedence for this change and what would have made ANY player think they should hold onto the tokens.

Giving things like Candy Corn/Zhaitaffy value after their respective festivals were over?

Zhaitaffy was another example of a flueky item that offered no visible immediate benefit in keeping, barring the sugar rush buff (which is also pointless unless they bring back the old achivement from hw1). Candy corn is a crafting material.

You can still use Zhaitaffy to buy the food buffs and the holographic dragon wings. The vender is still in LA.

Well yea, but regardless of how you’re classifying them it’s stuff you earned from a previous festival that was near worthless, and Anet suddenly making it more valuable than previously. There is a precedence for them taking an item and making it much more valuable than before.

If you are using gear that buffs your own stats without helping the team (toughness and vitality as examples) then you are being selfish. How hard is that to understand?

It’s not my stats that are helping the team. It’s ME in the team.

If a team is not happy with having ME in it, with whatever stats, it’s a selfish team.

except your not helping the team as much as you could be because you sacrificed important stats for stats that would only benefit you

I’m helping the team as much as necessary. I’m not asking ANYONE what build or what stats I should bring.

Not happy with what I have? Feel free to jump off nearest cliff.

as much as necessary? really? imagine being at work, your boss sees your just doing enough work to get by, then he has somebody that he knows will work harder than you, your instantly fired and hes hired, its as simple as that, people who do more work will always be preferrred over the lazy slackers

If you’re using the boss example, then keep in mind that the equivalent for someone who uses Zerks is like that of a person who works his backside, but sounds very little time caring about their own state. That same person may end up having to go to health and psychological care more often because they’re more focused on their task, as opposed to themselves. If the employer wanted a robot, he could hire one himself. And somone who doesn’t need to manage their health via external care is much more efficient and capable than someone who’s falling apart the moment something bad happens.

It’s perfectly fair. People that voted got their candidate’s win as a reward.

Everyone else can sell their stuff for some pocket change.

Except the people who deleted their tickets assuming they’d be worthless like every other one (both voters and non-voters), and the ones didnt get their election win.

Just another odd, silly thing ANet has done against itself.

They shouldn’t have been so hasty.

Silly hobbits.

Well, to be fair, most event collectibles have been useless for the major part unless otherwise stated (for achievements or crafting materials).

Aside from maybe a handful of people, if that, Noone really expected these tokens to be useful for anything either post their living story event. And Noone would have really been bothered if they left the, they way they normally did – something to be deleted.

It’s not really worth the QQ, but like I said, it’s just something that’s 100% pointless. There’s advantages to it, sure, but it’s have been easier just to have left them the way they were.

Lessons for next time though, I guess.

You couldn’t even deal much damage, and you really didn’t get that many golds, much less exotics. And if you’re curious, I was running 5 rune of the pirate 1rune of the traveler, with sigil of luck (All superior level) and I was capping out around 50-70% MF All things considered. (Food boosts, banner buffs).

Honestly, it’s more one of those things that are theoretically brilliant but actually pretty crap when it comes to walking the walk.

Seven Star Stalker.1740

Fair? It is fair.
Those who voted and took part in the election system got what they wanted. They were able to take part in something and vote for a candidate they wanted.
Those who didnt care about a virtual election of some NPC got nothing for this except token for an event they didnt care about. This is what those people get out of it.

What? As far as we knew there was 1 and only 1 use for these…voting. On top of that it took loads of clicking to vote. Had we known these would have any value I highly doubt many players at all would have used them outside of maybe 10 for the achievement. I know I used multiple stacks of these just b/c there simply wasn’t any use of them or value to them. Now I am told had I not wasted my time I would have been rewarded with a heafty amount of gold? Nah…this is udder crap.

Key words: A far as we knew. Which is why throwing your kitten out BEFORE you know what is going to be done with them is dumb as a bag of hammers. I used mine, but have some cause the tokens kept dropping anyway after polls closed. Also have a couple stacks of buttons. Hope I can sell those. Either way, with the wallet freeing a kitten load of slots from dungeon tokens, ain’t cramped for space. No one held a gun to your head and forced you to delete before you knew what would be done with things. Any of you.

Keep in mind though that aside from weapon skin tokens, other tokens have been mostly useless. So I don’t think anyone would have expected otherwise in this event.

It’s not really a problem for people of high gold amounts, but if you don’t have much gold, whilst its not devastating because you haven’t necessarily lost anything, it’s a pointless chance to miss out on a few extra gold. And it’s silly that people who didn’t even care about the event can just go along with the extra gold they have now, assuming they didn’t spend it all. If they simply left it as being another useless token everyone would be happy. :v

Seven Star Stalker.1740

The real question is whether or not Labyrinthine Cliffs is leaving, seeing as it’s a land mass which we have naval travel access to.

What’s ironic is, if you look at the map, we really don’t have naval access to it. Those folks from LA have to ferry through the Straits of Devastation to get there, which probably isn’t the most tourist friendly stretch of sea. Unless there’s an Orrian Canal I’m not aware of. But that’s just nitpicky.

Seriously though, I’m pretty sure the whole zone’s going away until next year. Lore wise, the bazaar moves around anyway, so if they left us the zone, they’d either have to put something else there (which they would then have to remove for the bazaar next year), or just give us an empty section of cliffs to hang out in. My money’s on the whole zone disappearing.

Technically that coast would be under Pact Juristiction, seeing as lore-wise, Zhaitan is dead. Don’t forget, all this is a continuation from after the Story-Mode, even though you still have the zone the same. Kinda why I hope they’ll introduce the ‘phasing’ system.

Whilst there’s quite a few things that appeal to me, I’d say GW’s difference in design here and there are what are brilliant.

WvWvW, whilst is called a zergfest by lots, feels like it has legitimate strategy, and is constantly alive with organised sieges, assaults and skirmishes and disruptions aswell as embargoes.

The community is nice. I’ve only had issues with bots, and one person. Everyone else seems really kind though, at least of my server. But I find people who are absolute kittens and spend their entire lingo using 733t speak are non existent. Yu can have a conversation without people needing to know your builds, and run a dungeon without being booted because you’re using something uncommon.

Lastly, cosmetics. I remember seeing this anti gw2 video about how there’s no appeal in cosmetics and that stats are what make people feel good and honestly, that’s a load of garbage. I love my character looking good, and quite frankly, if they look ugly, I’m not appealed to play them. That’s also part of why I love the extensive dying system, and why I hate not being able to play gw2 at max graphics without my computer collapsing on itself.

I’ve noticed the only thing possibly out right irritating is that after two minutes into the game (post grace period) it becomes extremely hard to get motes. Otherwise the game is okay. Not poor, but not perfect either.

For me it seems like a less interactive version of Lunatic Inquisition. Now that game was bad kitten.

I remember joining TC, leaving for ONE day and I had to wait A MONTH for a time where I was online and could snipe myself back in. The week later they announced guesting was available and I internally made a vow that I would never kittening leaving this server ever again. Just keep trying and you’ll get there. TC is overall a very well balanced server in terms of most of the game’s aspects and I hope you have the best luck getting in c:

Artesian waters, however truth be told, you an unlock that at the end of the personal story so I don’t really think that counts.

Easiest Jumping Puzzles?

Barring the fact that it is hard as kitten to actually get to, mechanically speaking Buried archives is the easiest true ‘jumping puzzle’ in that all you’re doing is walking and running.

The catch though, is that there are dozens of 80 Risen mobs across the place on the base platforms. You won’t get harassed when jumping but those running spaces between the jumping sections do require lots of evasiveness or outright killing, and there is actually a nasty clump of risen at the end around the chest.
