So I just realised a pretty big discrepancy in Sylvari lore with the Malyck Story line and Scarlet’s vision.
According to her, she saw the fate of all Sylvari, which was what ticked her of. But that’s impossible because we now know that Sylvari extend beyond the Pale Tree and have other origins.
ANet pls |:
OP. When you join the game today, you have nothing.
Are you sure you’d like to switch places with those people?
So my friend told me today that if I’d said something to him, he would’ve grabbed one for me while he was there.
FML QQ.
Can I request the Racial theme songs for Asura and Sylvari? Also, the DR them song would be nice.
You do get the gifts of exploration.
Can’t say you’re lying, OP. And that’s a sad notion. Thankfully, most of the people on my server aren’t falling to this notion but I have seen it heavily in overflows.
The problem with the Living story is the concept is brilliant, except the actual execution sucks hard. Which is sad because ANet could really have made this the crux of their game.
The engineer numbers seem legit QQ.
Metrica is funner IMO. I always level alts there, and I myself am also a TCbaby.
Queensdale is popular because there’s ALWAYS champs to farm there. So there’s no real incentive to go anywhere else when you have bandit, behemoth, oak heart, wasp queen, boar and troll popping up every time you kill the one before it.
If there’s one thing no MMO has that ANet has, it’s their marketing division.
Role players will use them, but that’s it really.
I mean, if you’re going to play an Inquest Asura, you can’t exactly be using something else. You’re better off sticking to the Dark Asura Skins for CoE, or of you’re going to play as a Seraph, you’ll need to have Seraph weapons, otherwise noones gonna take you seriously.
Barring that, they’ll just be novelty design really.
OP has gotta be one of the most disgusting examples of player entitlement.
Except hardly anyone likes the gifts we got this year. Most people don’t even think 1 of the gift is really that exciting. And honestly, I’ve yet to find anyone 100% pleased with getting more than 1 of the gift.
Maybe your opinion would carry some weight if more than 10% of the player base actually enjoyed have more than 3 Queen Jenna Minis, several characters significantly below level 20 (Not something silly like level 19 or 18). Because aside from the birthday booster, the gift becomes worth less and less based on how many you receive. Anymore than one or two, and it becomes boring and provides barely anything particularily nice or useful.
They also could have given us things like special birthday skins (you get one each year) for weapons, kinda like how we get Zenith Skins. Or maybe a mini based on your order-partner that dies on Claw Island. Heck, I would prefer mini-Traherne over Mini Jenna, aesthetically and lore wise. Mini-Zhaitan would’ve been neat too, or Tequatl. Maybe a special Armor piece? Or cape? Or Armor skin? Or maybe a title. The list goes on, but ANet really could’ve made birthdays MUCH better, and really like I said, the only possible legitimate reason they could’ve had for doing this is to experiment with how people would’ve felt about this.

I have a theory.
I think ANet was actually testing it out this year to see how the community would react if they have us predetermined gifts. Because looking at it, I can’t fathom any other reason. Obviously they have enough resources given they released season2 minis in what was within a span of a week’s time, And they had the time to reiterate their plans in regards to the gifts if they wanted to. Unless ANet is legitimately trying to be a kitten and kitten off the player base at large, which I think would be absurd for any company regardless of their quality, there’s no other possible explanation in my eyes for why they would fix something that was legitimately the only good broken thing if even that.
“gemstore poisons everything”
Misjudgement positions everything, you mean.

Boon duration or condition duration affect combat, where magic find does not. Adding those would be pretty overpowered.
Karma gain is the perfect replacement.
Not really. You basically gain every stat, but at much smaller amounts that pretty much total to how much you’d get if there were three concentrated stats as there normally old be.
I to be honest would advise against building Celestial Armor in most circumstances, unless you’re playing a cash mule at best. However even still, unless they +1’thw rest of the stat bonus, celestial Armor does become weaker than normal Armor.
ENJOY YOUR EXTRA QUEEN JENNA’S BECAUSE ANET IS RESENDING THEM.
Commando was stated to have been melted with the other profession to make the Engineer during an interview.
They’re pretty good if you’re using them for jewel upgrades. Independently though, they’re meh. I wouldn’t buy an Armor piece that has all the stats because they’re all so low due to equal distribution.
Please bring your zerker thief/warrior/necro to WvW.
I’ll bring my all-stat mesmer.
I’m an engineer. WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?
I would put BY OGDEN’S HAMMER WHAT SAVINGS.. Except that just happens randomly in LA, not when you’re fighting someone :c
The apparent connection is this.
Verata had an intrest in permanent minion raising, and was.. Prevented, due to being a public safety hazzard. Now whilst you’re right in saying Necromancy and Elemental magic are two different schools, summoning is a single sub school that covers both Elemental summoning, Necrotic summoning and presumably things like demon summoning and what have you.
The term is presumably as broad as the word ‘Call’. I can call someone via phone, via direct voice, via telegraph, via telepathy, but in every case they can all compose as being a call. The principal is the same, Verata wanted to permanently summon minions. Presumably, Isgarren, if that isn’t the facade of the individual living there (Note, Im not implying it’s Verata or any of his actual disciples), or his ancestor, was present at the time of Verata and both had an interest in advancing magical summoning methods. That’s the presumable connection between the two.
Which to be fair, is a possible story route..
What if.
We kill Scarlet in SAB? 0:
Well, considering that video has nothing to do with this event and was made like.. A year ago.. I don’t really see how it could be misinformation. .-.
I mean, sure, if he was saying, “Oh there’s gonna be a Sylvari that’s gonna come and screw things up because she’s seen the Eternal Alchemy” well.. Then yeah, I guess. But the video really doesn’t have anything to do with that, even in a largely indirect sense.
Btw, if expansion. The reason why we couldn’t go to the ocean was Zhaitan. He is gone. Basically, route to Cantha and Elona are open. Elona is closer, and if they could aid the living in rebelling against undeads and attack Kralkatorrik from 2 sides would work.
Or recruit.. Palawa >_> The OoW wouldn’ like that, however.
I would like to contest that with the existence of the DSD. Sure, Zhaitan’s navy are grounded, but you still have the critters of the deep.
We don’t even know where that dragon is. And the Ocean is a lot bigger than any other dragon’s territory, maybe 1 out of 10 ships will disapper, big thing.
For Elona you would just have to follow the coastline.
For Elona by essential principal, you can just walk there really. It’s Cantha that’s the problem. And there’s the thing. As long as the DSD is there, all we know is the ocean is a risky place.
You can’t walk to Elona because of Palawa and Kralky. However, I think eastern-kourna has the highest human population atm, which can be approached by ship.
And again, what if that dragon is in the western-region of the Ocean, far away from old trade routes? Also, after defeating Zhaitan, Eir sorts the next possible targets – DSD isn’t among them. Maybe they don’t even know he exists and is only a speculation by Priory scholars.
That’s why I said essential principal. Can you actually go walking to Elona? Maybe, maybe not. But in terms of if everything was rosey and green. You could eventually make your way there, assuming you’re willing to actually do so. That said,as you mentioned, we can’t.
In terms of the next dragon, honestly, I’d be surprised if they did anyone but Jormag. However in doing that, obviously they’d reveal a bit more content. It’s highly possible that whilst the main dragon we fight next is Jormag, we may see the minions of Mordremoth and DSD popping up in the world. That’s all I really said in my original post >>;

I think the expansion will be in the direction of Jormag first. However in that expansion, I imagine they will actually begin to introduce either the DSD or Mordremoth to a higher degree, such as real minions, maybe a dragon boss (just as we have Shatterer, CoJ, Sunless, ect). If you go to frostgorge sound, the pact is pretty settled up there, more so than anywhere else barring Orr.
Reiterating what Konig said, I have to say they really did take LS and stick where it’s sunless because honestly. The concept had a lot of potential. That’s one thing I don’t like about GW2. There’s all the good potential ideas and paths, and things they could do, and yet half the stuff they do is just strangely bad. But I’m not going to go into anything beyond lore seeing as, this IS the lore forum.
Because one would expect that when a company does something and sees the reaction of their customer base, they learn from it.
Then again, one can always expect too much of a company.
And yet there are several parts of said customer base.
Some shout about stuff like this being awesome, whilst other hate it.
Which side should they listen to?
Most of the people you see complaining are the ones who want it. Those who don’t like as a whole don’t really care, because largely it doesn’t effect or bother them at all. They’re in the same boat as those apathetic towards that, and even still, basic human psychology will tell you that people only cry out on matters that have some kind of effect on them. Your argument is false
It won’t be in-game.
If it were they would have told you.The other rl-event things have not been made available in-game so why would these?

Birthdays. /thread.
This would be kinda cool, but people might be kitten ed at the lack of content access. Look at how much people QQ about missing out LS updates.
Noones gonna buy it, because its such an obvious super spike on the price.
You’re an idiot to buy it at the price, or expect it to sell at the price all of a sudden.
Well like I think I suggested somewhere, what thy need to do is actually release Mr Sparkles on the Gemstore for the weekend, and remove it afterwards.
There’s no mutual respect between people when one never had the potential oppurtunity of another. Living in Germany or even being there on a lucky weekend is an extremely imbalanced criteria for a piece of content. And if you’re an Asura fan or an a Mini collector, you have my sympathy and empathy :c
You guys realise they’re gonna take ages, right?
They need to make precursors actually expensive, so that it’s not as simple as, “Lol -Crafts 1 Orialchum Axe head and Handle, precursor made.-”
T7 Materials will probably be time gated, so the sooner they release them, the sooner we will make precursors, no matter how much it might cost.
That’s not what I meant. For them to release the dam things, they need to make an actual recipe complicated enough to craft.
They’re not going to release something to craft without a respective recipe for it. That’s now even possible.

+1 For Trying QQ.

I can say with confidence that if you don’t enjoy zergplay GW2 is not for you. Everything from WvW, Champ farming, and living story events are all about zerging.
Hardly anyone is doing non zergplay activities now a day since all zerg farming give the most rewards.
Good luck finding a new MMO. I heard there is a couple that sound pretty promising. It is not too late to sign up for beta.
Right and wrong. Gw2 is hardly about zerging. The problem is, zerging, for THE MASSES, is the most efficient for the method. For example. I was playing WvW yesterday, raiding the enemy borderlands. There was three of us, and 5 of them, and we ripped their group apart. Were we fighting unskilled opponents? Easy and sadly to say, quite possibly. Because zerging doesn’t promote skill. On the contrary, due to our skill, we managed to break the, up and quickly take them out. These poor buggers probably only knew the zerging way to play, not the skilled way. And this doesn’t factor that we were fighting at their supply camp, too, so we have guards and stuff on our backsides. Numerically disadvantaged.
The fact that this works is proof that zerging is not necessarily the most effective way. Even in WvWvW, a good defence can break the Zerg easy, because most of them think its all about blowing the gate down, not setting up reflection walls, defence golems, domes and other effects. Zerging works because its easy, but a skilled team vs a pure Zerg can easily crumble the massive force if their surgical tactics are up there enough.
And honestly, if you do things on your own. It’s easier to feel good about yourself because you know you saved that waypoint or smashed that mob with your own effort, not that of 500 mindless forces swarming around you like a bunch of locust.
Even in the Scarlet events, zerging is actually punished, the more people there are, the more mobs you face, however the problem is every wave has an immediate 3 second invulnerability. I made a big post on this in the CC forum which I can’t be bothered to search for, but basically, the more time you spend on a camp with overly inneficient numbers, the harder it becomes to get to Scarlet with the subtle time flow.

I imagine some ascended gear cosmeticwise may surpass legendaries.
I’m feeling bad for the minstrel already
Well I mean, appearances are completely subjective to opinion. I for example, love my destroyer weapons, even though Noone else really does.
Comparing the Scarlet we see to the Joker as portrayed in the full of the Dark Knight is nowhere near fair. I’d say a better association would be comparing the Scarlet we’ve seen to the Joker only within the bank heist scene. We get no clues of his future plans, we can only see that he has manpower and knows how to manipulate people. I think Scarlet falls a little below just that scene in character development, but it doesn’t mean that she is unusable. I think, if properly done, she could become the villain that this franchise deserves (Har, Har, movie reference).
But not the one it needs.
Wait.. so we had set 1 released when the game went live.
And now when a year has past we get set 2. Is that really suprising?
Wouldn’t it be quite logical to assume that a set would be released per year, or was I the only one who assumed that?
That’s the issue. Even though the timing is pretty fair. Considering ANet had whatever the eff reason to spam Queen Jenna minis at the player base, is pretty dam annoying that they release the next clump of minis a couple of days after.
I mean, Noone wants 5+ Queen Jennas, hell, finding someone who wants 1+ of her is rare.
I don’t know if it’s mentioned in WP’s video – I honestly cannot stand his videos anymore, I’m not sure if it’s the voice (most people like his, I don’t) or if it’s all the facts he gets wrong/left unmentioned in his “support.”
But I feel this is far more relevant: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Varajar_Fells_Notebook Translation:
“I believe Varajar Fells will be my tomb, for I have no desire to leave this valley of tumbled gods. The facets have been revealed, and the cipher as well. I have mastered them. A greater understanding of the Eternal Alchemy is within my reach. Human gods, Charr gods, Norn animal totems – they are part of the all-encompassing Eternal Alchemy. I am humbled as never before by the grandeur of it, and by my own ability to conceive such vastness.”
This in of itself doesn’t really reveal much except the “valley of tumbled gods” and “charr gods” lines – especially dependent on whether it refers to titans or destroyers.
On Ceara “seeing the Eternal Alchemy” – I honestly don’t believe she saw all of it. Based off of the short story, it seems she only saw a fraction of it – the fraction dealing with the sylvari race – and perhaps she believes she saw all of it.
We already knew that the Six Gods are just “bigger cogs” in the Eternal Alchemy – not just from the GW1 quests but also from interviews about the Eternal Alchemy/various religions. So it only serves to reason that the Spirits of the Wild, the Elder Dragons, and even the Pale Tree are also “bigger cogs.”
However, Ceara’s vision does not point to a return of the gods in mention or a further elaboration of the Eternal Alchemy – it’s just background made in an attempt to make this happy-go-crazy sylvari super-genius have more “depth.” It isn’t impossible for Ceara to have seen a portion of the Eternal Alchemy, since Kerrsh seems to have, but in of itself it’s just two characters achieving similar accomplishments. All it really does is serve to make Ceara a slightly more believable character (though the witnessing of (part of) the Eternal Alchemy is far from her greatest flaw.
Ya pretty much just regurgitated what he said in the video.
Or well. Sort of. Keep in mind, that video was made waaaaaaay back before anyone was expecting Scarlet or the ABs, so in a vague way, it kinda links but, however not much more beyond that.
Well.. Isn’t it kinda all tied back to the bloodstones and the gift of magic from Abaddon and all that jazz? I would say that that’s the oversimplified version, however any further detail is speculation given we.. Well.. We don’t really have any.
For Mesmers, we know that Lyssa was the patron goddess of duality, illusions, riddles and deceptions of that manner. So I gather she would have been the first source of Mesmer magic on Tyria for humans.
For Elementalists, I think it would’ve basically worked starting with the fours schools of elemental magic in accordance to their patron gods and goddesses, with distribution of magical knowledge allowing mastery over multiple schools of magic leading to what we have today. The other option, would be Elementalists would’ve originally been more shamanic styled magicians, eventually evolving to the generic magi role they play today.
Like I said, almost everything I mentioned is speculation. You’re better off getting an answer from someone with a deeper understanding of the lore and what have you. If you’re lucky, you might get a wild red post.
If anything needs to be added to the LS, it’s impact and lore.
I posted a thread-rant about this. As it stands when a living story event happens, Noone besides the directly involved NPCs seem to give a flying kitten about what’s going on. If you to DR, Noone seems to have realised that a Sylvari Engineer named Scarlet lead the Aetherblades into the Crown Pavillion and proceeded to eff stuff up. That’s. pretty dam major thing, even if the Seraph and Shining Blade tried to keep it hush hush. Also, that short story for example? That should’ve been in the game, kind of how they did that with Mad King Thorne last year.
Barring that, I don’t think anything I want to say hasn’t been said already. So yeah..
Quite sure legendaries won’t be changed. Also, precursors will be craftables soon this year, so there maybe the whole, “Im going to equip an ascended till I get my legendary” principle pulled into play. Having said that, this also is dependant on how ascended gear will actually be in terms of visuals and sound effects. I imagine some ascended gear cosmeticwise may surpass legendaries.
I’d like some Charr grilled burgers thanks.
We can eat the salad, Orr, we can go to the fish markets.
Those people are norn to be rough.
I CHANNEL THE POWER OF EIR.
This.. To be honest, that’s probably one of those things people will suddenly start doing now that you mentioned it xD
It is Krytan. The shoulders however are Orrian Temple medium set.
They should make gem store items in GENERAL account bound, tbh.
first of the temples are most likely corrupt by zhietan so they most likely needs to be torn down before anyone gets promision to move in there.
the humans dont have the man power to move in there and even if they do kryta as a nation has no right to claim it in any way and saying that the queen is reltated to the orrian king is a no good else your given each monarch in europe the right to claim each trone as they are all related so nope dont work. when you go on one trone you give up the right for any other.the land will be a new nation if anything and the nation will be mixed in some way as i can not see humans even trying to keep them out without coursing a world war.
I don’t think you’ve actually been to Orr, because even with Zhaitan alive the cathedrals can be cleansed.
And as for the land, more likely than not it will be a no-creature’s land, with humans being the custodians for Arah and the temples specifically seeing as those locations hold significance only to them and Noone else (except maybe the Priory and OoW, for research purposes in the way of dragon influence, corruption, and general Orrian History). Though honestly, it won’t be till at least a few more years that Orr will be cured. Sure, Sylvari magic OP, but a landmass of the size takes time to cleanse 100%.
