Hello Everyone.

Our guild is looking to transfer to one of five servers and we were hoping folks who already call them home could give us some insight. Posts, PM’s, and /w are all welcomed and much appreciated. There are going to be at least 10 of us transferring within the week and a few more later. We are a family-friendly guild primarily focused on WvW, looking for a great community, and also looking for great intra-server communication. Server TeamSpeak and web sites are a huge plus. Super low drama is a requirement.

Thanks in advance!

It wont be long till HoD is in tier 3. Just have to hope DB falls fast.

I believe a fairly sizeable guild is in the process of moving from DB to HoD right now. I think their goal was to get away from T3. Strange that they are transferring to a server that will most likely end up right back in the tier they evacuated, probably in part due to their transfer.

(edit: could be several guilds in fact)

As another alternative: Take all eight of you, form a guild (if you haven’t already) and join the SF WvW community. Your group will make a difference and may just be the tipping point your server needs in getting more people interested in the war effort. Run together, get good, and wreck some face.

Server Population Status: 2015

in WvW

Posted by: Shademehr.1397

Shademehr.1397

If the solution to everyone’s woes is to have equally-populated servers, then we can accomplish this right now without any help from Anet:

Spread. Out.

Could you imagine how awesome things would be if everyone was tied for 1st? Every solo roamer who capped a camp would matter. Every player spike. Every tower and keep grabbed by a roaming group. Every beatdown a guild group put on another guild group. Every scout that warned of an approaching zerg. Everything that everyone did in the game would contribute to a matchup. Finally PPT’ers and “In it for the fights” people would be able to come together because they could both do what they love and still be contributing to the “win”.

Am I an idealist? Maybe. But I think it’d be awesome nonetheless. Heck, lets try it for a few months and see what happens!

I currently run GS / Axe + Shield on my warrior in WvW (though I have all weapons in my inventory) and I have a good amount of fun with it. I made the switch around Halloween in anticipation of having my wish of getting a Ghastly Grinning Shield skin from the lottery (I didn’t… :’( ) So I splurged and made the Mad Moon shield as a consolation prize.

I dig it.

divide servers into time zones

in WvW

Posted by: Shademehr.1397

Shademehr.1397

I suggested something similar to this. Probably in one of the many threads about server mergers, etc.

Keep the week long matchup. Divide each day into 3 eight hour scoring periods. For example, 8am-4pm / 4pm – 12am / 12am – 8am. Award points after each of these scoring periods. The highest PPT gets 5 points, the mid gets 3 points, and the lowest gets 1 point. This allows different time periods to essentially compete with each other. A server that is super strong during off-peak times would be on equal footing with a server that is strong during on-peak times.

Heck, let us do it for a week or two as an experiment to see how it works out.

Now it’s about time ANet adds the PvP reward tracks to WvW as well (can be Wxp-bound), so WvW players can get their dungeon tokens also without leaving their preferred game mode.

Something like that might be a good idea, actually. Not for EotM though, there’s too much farming in there already.

Lots of us have been hoping for this for a while. I’d still love to see it. I can’t stand dungeons but I love me some WvW!

Removal Of WvW Map Completion In Patch

in WvW

Posted by: Shademehr.1397

My post in the other thread:

I’m fine with this if Anet also removes the Power of the Mists bonuses for everyone who doesn’t participate in WvW.
(Maximum examples given)
+20% chance of a critical crafting success
+10% Defense against monsters
+10% Endurance regeneration
+20% Chance of additional mining/harvesting/logging node uses
+10% Healing Effectiveness
+10% Maximum health
+10% Bonus coin per kill
+10% Experience per kill

I so no reason at this point that the WvW players should be supporting the PvE’ers if the PvE players can’t be bothered to support the WvW’ers who earn these bonuses for them with the occasional foray into WvW.

Granted, some of you many not think these bonuses are worthwhile and I’ve provided the maximum examples (some servers earn lower rewards based on their score), but that’s how I feel.

Also, I completely agree that it’s time to give the WvW’ers some really nice incentives (skins, buffs, something!). Perhaps some quantity of the old WvW Tournament Tickets could be given out weekly for wvw participation and they could be used on the existing rewards which require those tickets and newer neat things could be added. (LET US BUY DUNGEON TOKENS WITH BADGES OR TOURNIE TICKETS PLEASE!)

SF was back inside in a few minutes, and boy howdy was that the most stressful Vista/JP I’ve ever had to get in my life. It was worse than the Halloween Clocktower! haha

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the tomes of knowledge. I may be in the minority, but I currently have 11 characters which include one of each class and an extra Ranger, Guardian, and Thief. I suspect I’ll have some additional alts in the future. In the event that I didn’t want to make another, I would at least be able to use them for the skill points, which I find invaluable for mystic forging and creating superior siege for WvW.

Thanks!

Flames of Courage [FoC]

Flames of Courage [FoC] is a dedicated 18+ WvW guild that does dungeons, fractals, map completion, and guild missions during our off nights. We are a fun-loving guild that was founded on Eredon Terrace and has remained loyal to it ever since. [FoC] was forged through fire via hard work and commitment from its guild members who place emphasis on fun by creating a community feel, while still offering a teamwork-oriented culture that makes us competitive enough to hold our own against dedicated zerg-busting guilds. And, as you can tell by our name, we are pretty silly FoCers. We have hosted numerous events for our server including a rifle warrior night, co-hosting a thief/mesmer night, minionmancer night, “Charrmy” night, ladies night, and a lot more.

Our requirements include getting on our server’s TeamSpeak (mic not required, but is encouraged), 100% repping during our mandatory rally nights (Monday/Wednesday/Friday), and being a team player.

We are primarily seeking zerging classes, such as guardians, warriors, necromancers, and elementalists; however, other classes are also accepted. Both veterans and newcomers of all skill levels are welcome, as long as you are a cooperative team player, including potential input on your build/traits.

Eredon Terrace Guilds

Look Within [Zen]
Zen is an all-inclusive and family-friendly guild whose members range from teenagers to grandparents. Many of our members have spouses and other family members whom are also in Zen. We range from seriously casual to casually serious, and while the core of Zen are primarily focused on WvW, we have players who are also focused on PvE. Most of our day-to-day activities include WvW, world boss runs, Living Story participation, jumping puzzle nights, achievement hunting nights, and map farming events. While we don’t currently focus much on dungeons, fractals, or PvP, we do have members who are interested in them and we would certainly like to invite people who may be knowledgeable about these game modes to provide some coaching for our Zen family. Though we do not require 100% guild representation, we strongly encourage repping when we are playing together, and hope you’ll still enjoy the guild enough to rep us even when you’re running around solo. We do not require specific builds in WvW and most of us strongly subscribe to the “run what you brung in order to have fun” philosophy. Zen has a private area within the Eredon Terrace Community TeamSpeak as well as a private forum area within the Eredon Terrace Community web site. Our most important belief is to HAVE FUN THE WAY YOU WANT TO HAVE FUN, within reason and within the constraints of “family-friendly”, of course. Please contact Shademehr.1397 in-game or on these forums or Shademehr on the ET forums for more details, questions, or concerns. Thanks!

Marauders of Serenity [MoS] A fast pace assault group is recruiting dedicated WvW and PvE players of all classes and lvl to join our ranks. We are a laid back guild made back in beta of GW-1, and just moved on over to GW-2 for pre-release.We are competitive, but also like to have fun. We Will teach tips, tactics and build specifics to overall make your gaming experience better in WvW . We like to run a large Havoc crew , and in organized groups. We also run all dungeons including fractals, and enjoy [ world boss events ] [ champ trains ] and [ farming ] So if you are looking for something new with no stress and drama free MoS is the place to be [ 100% rep WvW only ] [ Teamspeak a must ] Wsp for info / inv or apply at www.Marauders-of-Serenity.enjin.com.

Druids of Dhuum [DoD]
Druids of Dhuum [DoD] is recruiting fun- and bad joke-loving players to join our PvE, WvW, and PvP cores (oh my!). We are a “seriously casual,” ET-based guild started in Guild Wars 1 and carried over at launch. Our main focus is, and will always be, on our members having fun. To that end, we have some of everything: untagged WvW havoc runs, tagged commanders, server event hosting, dungeon/fractal runs, world bosses/farming, PvP teams, bi-weekly raffles, and lots of bad jokes! Rep only required when running with us, but we’d sure love ya if you rep us all the time. DoD has a private area in the ET Community Teamspeak server, and use is encouraged, but not required. New players and veterans alike are welcome, and we will help with builds and strategies, but specific setups or play times are never required. To find out more, PM Turkadactyl.5308 or Trafficone.5301, or visit www.druidsofduum.enjin.com.

Community Resources and Benefits
Web Site: http://eredonterrace.enjin.com/ Everyone is strongly encouraged to join our web site in order to connect with the community when not in-game. We have a calendar of events, build forums, WvW forums, guild recruitment forums, and many more. BONUS: If you have ten or more guild members registered on our forums, you can request FREE private forum space for your guild, which will also include a special tag (your guild banner) for each of your members.

TeamSpeak: In addition to our community-funded web site, we also have a site-integrated TeamSpeak server. As with the main forum, if you have the required amount of guild members, you can receive a special private area within TeamSpeak for your guild. We have weekly reset meetings and “push night” meetings which typically last no more than 20 minutes. We also have monthly server-meetings to discuss upcoming and previous events, strategy, growth, and other opportunities.

Commander Chat: Within our TeamSpeak, we use a special whisper list called “CC”. This allows us to communicate with all Commanders on the server, regardless of which area of TeamSpeak they are in. It’s a great coordination tool and works well for callouts, etc.

Eredon Terrace Hero of the Month: Every month, members of our community have an opportunity to anonymously nominate their server-mates for the ET HotM award. Nominated individuals are those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty and have significantly affected the ET Community in a positive way. Winners of this award get a special tag on the ET web site and TeamSpeak which helps to identify them for their positive contributions.

Public Guild Missions: If you are a member of a smaller guild, or prefer to run solo, you can still do guild missions for Guild Commendations! The [Nob] guild runs guild missions every week and everyone is invited! Repping is only required during the actual guild missions.

GvG: While Guild vs. Guild battles aren’t nearly as prevalent in the lower tiers as they are in the higher, we still have a handful of guilds who participate and actively organize them. If you are interested in GvG combat, please consider inquiring with any of our WvW-focused guilds and possibly even starting your own.

I Am Eredon Terrace [ET] Guild: The ET guild is a non-repping “unity guild” that provides buffs in times of need. If you don’t have a buff available, or if you aren’t in a guild that has been able to create them, this guild serves as a “public” means to access buffs such as +5 supply, etc. It also serves as a WvW “who’s who” list in case you need to see quickly who’s online in WvW in order to call for help, give scouting reports, etc. Influence is earned through donations to the guild.

Community Events: Eredon Terrace has several guilds that organize WvW server-wide Community Events. Previous events have included things like Necro Minion Night, Zerg-Buster Training Nights, Commander Training Events, Asura Nights, and many many more. If you like opportunities to play across guilds and make new friends, these events are great for building new friendships and getting to know your ET family.

Twitch Streamers: Twitch Streamers get a special area on our Community Web Site which highlights their stream. While we only have a small handful of streamers at the moment, we would love to have more!

Final Thoughts
Eredon Terrace is a server that has risen in ranks over the past few months, reaching as high as rank 17. Recently, three guilds departed (two to Silver for a different WvW experience and one was purchased by another Bronze competitor.) As one might imagine, this has significantly impacted our coverage. Now more than ever, every single person who joins Eredon Terrace can make a significant impact. Please post any questions you have, or feel free to contact any of the people who will be posting additional information about our server and its guilds in this thread. We look forward to welcoming you to our Community and we will be thrilled when you too can say:

Does your server ever make you feel like your toenails are on fire? Do you occasionally wish that calamari was more readily available from vending machines? When you pass gas, do your server mates COMPLAIN?! Are you looking for a new home for yourself or your guild? If you answered yes to ANY of the questions above, we encourage you to take a look at Eredon Terrace!

Or perhaps you are just looking for something different, a better community, or a place to just kick your feet up and call “home”.

Eredon Terrace is a tenacious and “never-give-up” server that is currently looking for more individuals and guilds to add to our great community. Though we are currently in Bronze (Tier 6), many of our veteran players can recall our Tier 1 “glory days” as well as our more recent Tier 8 “building days,” and they draw on many of the experiences learned during these times. These veterans are hardened, battle-forged, and still make up a significant portion of our WvW population. They are the spirit of Eredon Terrace, and are the type of people who keep getting back up to charge into the fray, time after time, oftentimes despite overwhelming odds and adversity.

Over the past several months, we have welcomed many new faces into our ET family. These new faces have included players looking for a new home and new challenges as well as new players who have decided to create their account within our great community. These newcomers have brought energy, new ideas and tactics, and a fresh perspective, which we both welcomed and needed. Their arrival and desire to become Eredon Terrace has greatly boosted our coverage and our morale as a server. We stand shoulder to shoulder with these new brothers and sisters and are glad to have them amongst us.

Current Coverage
EU: We do not currently have a large single-guild presence during this time. We do have a handful of smaller guilds and roamers and they represent a 10-15 player force at any time spread across the various BLs.
SEA: We currently have one guild [GN], and a few other ET’ers, who run during this time zones. (approximately 10-25 at any given time across BL’s and EB)
OCX: We do not currently have a large guild to present a significant OCX presence on Eredon Terrace. Any transfers into this time zone might be a bit lonely at first, so bring friends!
These three time zones are our greatest area for opportunity. We have some great and talented people who play during these times, but they consistently fight outmanned battles against our more populated competitors. Anyone who plays during these times would make an instant difference, whether they came as an individual or as a group or guild. People willing to tag up would also be very welcomed, as this would serve to rally those few that are on, and it would also allow the current handful of Commanders to be able to rotate the leadership responsibilities.

NA: This is our strongest area, especially during the Eastern time zone, as that is when you will find most of us in WvW. If you are an Eastern time zone player, you will find many people to fight beside. Our biggest area of opportunity during NA is in the Pacific time zone. Oftentimes, when our early-NA team logs off for the night, our late-NA team finds their hands full in a hurry.

Of course, all sorts of play styles are welcome during all time zones. We’re looking for solo roamers and scouts, havoc groups, defenders, PPT players, zerg-busters, guild groups, Commanders, and more!

Moderating lots of forums takes up a lot of time. Time = salary. Salary = spent money.

Less forums to moderate means less time/employees. Less salary. Less expense.

Making a reduction in services provided sound like an improvement of customer service is about the oldest PR trick in the book.

How much time does it take to moderate an archived forum?

I’m completely fine with it. I’m still having fun. I haven’t nearly completed everything I’d like to complete despite having nearly 5000 hours in the game. I do my PvE and WvW. I haven’t even really touched sPvP yet so I still have entire game mode left to explore.

The Living World “DLC” is also keeping me occupied just like any other game’s (I come form consoles before GW2) DLC would.

Best $50 I ever spent considering the hours per dollar ratio I’ve gotten out of it.

The only thing that might possibly drive me away from this game are the whiners. They permeate this forum and I hear them constantly in /m chat in-game. I’m not sure what the max capacity of the block list is, but hot dang I’ve gotta be approaching the limit.

Havoc groups are running the PPT show now that it only takes 4+ players to quickly flip an objective.

Zergs take out WPs and then there is nothing to indicate an objective is under attack. Hidden cata spots for the win!

Well said. I know the havoc groups I run with are now able to take an amazing amount of things before we’re even spotted. It’s kinda refreshing not getting zerged over all the time, to be honest.

Now that I’ve had time to think about it. For those of us who play for PPT, it seems that we have a new opponent: The Clock. In other words, “How much can you flip right before the clock runs out in order to capitalize on PPT.” Zergs pretty much have to split up to take as many things as they can in the smallest amount of time. Maybe this was a clever way to get the zergs to thin out a bit? To some extent, many havok groups always did this with camps. Hit a BL with 5 minutes left and take all the camps so you have them for the tick. But now, it’s not just the camps. Everything is in play.

This is a completely off-the-wall question, but what is the current capacity of the voice comms around T1-ish? In other words, how many concurrent connections do you have at one time? We’re rising through the ranks a bit on ET and we’re starting to attract more players because of it and I’d like an idea of what we might need capacity-wise if we continue to grow.

Thanks in advance.

do it like me: farm them on homeborder xD

So one day my wife hollared for me to come look at north camp in our home BL. I asked her what was up there and she said there were some random candy corn elementals hanging around, with no other players anywhere to be seen. We didn’t think anything of it and she killed them and grabbed the bags.

A bit later, I just happened to be up in north camp with a guildie and we were killing a few attackers. There they were again, candy corn elementals. We both thought it was weird but we killed them and grabbed the bags.

Then this dude comes out of nowhere and calls us names for killing them. Apparently the first time he was there when my wife found them, he had just been killed which is why they were still there for her to discover. The second time, he just hadn’t made it back from helping us defend before me and my guildie killed them.

I was nice enough to send him the bags, but never even got a “sorry” or anything.

Get some friends and go ninja whatever it is that you need for that one POI. Supply up (15 min but 20 is best), go straight there while staying out of sight the best you can. Do not flip camps. Do not flip sentries. Do not start ramming or catapulting or whatever until all siege is built. Then cross your fingers and blast away. Fortune favors the bold.

Confucius says: “The POI that was never obtained is the POI that was never tried.”

An ability to instantly see the amount of supply on the people around you within a certain radius (a traited Meteor radius for example). It could be a small number somewhere on the main UI. This would replace the /supplyinfo command. I know it seems like it might be trivial, but the extra range and at-a-glance usefulness would be awesome.

Applying Magic Find To Containers

The LS mobs got introduced after people started building up mf, so they knew that those wont be affected by mf.

Still .. its a little “unfair” to let people first push their MF, and then suddenly create
more and more content where it doesn’t work.

What would you say if they for example suddenly create zones where you run
around in a generic outfit all the time instead to show the expensive outfit you have
grinded for ?
Or where armor stats suddenly don’t count anymore.

But sadly they’ve done that too, albeit to a lesser extent. Armors can be turned off by a user and replaced with “generic models” and now we’re playing as other characters in Living Story events where none of our skills, builds, or gear matter. With any luck, the latter issue will be a one-off thing. I understand “one” is not a trend.

The other issue with the actual LS (instanced) mobs is that they don’t build stacks from weapon sigils. Not only did I have to buy two of the same sigils because of the whole “underwater bug” but now they take that investment and make it 100% moot because they don’t work at all. Granted, that’s an issue better left for another discussion though.

Back on topic: I’d like to see Magic Find actually mean something, instead of being lessened over time because more and more drops aren’t affected by it.

@ Drow

Check out Best Buy and Gamestop if any near you. They have GW2 gem cards.

This is probably too late, but Target also sells them. They also occasionally have a “Buy 1 get 1 at 40% off” deal for their game cards as well (plus another 5% discount if you have a Target card). These include everything from PSN, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam, GW2, etc cards. Mix and match.

I understand the need to make endgame content harder, but these Mordrem are not fun to fight at all. There is no margin for error at all, massive damage, trails that instantly kill you if you get downed in them, constant poison makes it impossible to heal, torment makes it impossible to run. And to top it all off, everything that’s not a white mob has tons of health.

Welcome to World vs. World.

I’m diggin the new difficulty to be honest.
