Personally I think the bow itself looks great, as does the glow and the footprints.
Yup they are definitely on the right track now, toning down some of HoT while increasing rewards, and better accessibility of content overall was the needed move here. I also love the boost to 80, with the changes to leveling from the “new player experience” I couldn’t bother leveling another char and now I don’t have to, I expect I’ll actually jump back into the game this weekend and play some HoT.
If they keep taking things back to a casual friendly experience like this I’ll be sticking around, so GJ anet.
Personally I don’t even care about the legendaries themselves, but abandoning content to focus on something else is kind of becoming a trend for them (dungeons, actual armor, super adventure box…), this shows that there is a very apparent management or staffing problem at Anet. I think they shouldn’t be working on new features until they finished the old ones, and definitely shouldn’t be making a new expansion until they finish developing this one, otherwise who knows what they’ll have to stop development on next (expect cash shop items, those are obviously a priority no matter what :p ).
It’s like ANet doesn’t have enough people to do kitten
This is probably the root of the issue yes, also that they keep abandoning unfinished projects to start new ones (which they then don’t finish either).
They need to hire enough people so teams can be working on different things rather than having to drop one for another.
Or at least have these done by the people pumping out cash shop outfits none asked for every other week.
So you are selling half finished products now and don’t ever bother to complete them as you promised. Good to know for future expansions.
They should add a raid finger like in WoW.
Did it take you 6 hours because you kept dying and had to restart or is it 6 hours for a single successful run?
Simply put… pure casual… doesn’t work… Guild Wars 2 before HoT was proof of that.
What are you basing this statement off?
Personally I also think a game I’ll have fun with for a month is preferable than one with the same months worth of content that’s fun and a bunch of boring grind on top of it just to pad out the length.
I’m guessing it’s just scaling to party size now, I tried doing a few of these before and it’s impossible to solo a champ before the timer runs down, so if these actually scale like they should have now I’m even happier.
You get everything almost at the start!
Good, just as we should.
Thanks for fixing this so fast, my enjoyment of HoT just went up significantly.
Then anet needs to ensure there’s enough players around to group with. If they can’t do that then this stuff needs to be soloable.
Here’s another, hero challenge with a champion and several ads, couldn’t even get it to half health before the timer ran out…
Maybe they use the same character limit per map as the other zones, but due to the new zones size in addition to how mazey they are you just don’t see anyone.
Agree this is a problem, I keep running into events I can’t do because none else is nearby all the time, can’t imagine how bad this will be in a few weeks/months.
If you want a refund make a support ticket.
I’d prefer doing this stuff with people but if none else is doing it I’d rather solo than not get to do it at all…
Oh wow, I actually found a hero challenge and it’s two champions as well kitten … This stuff needs to be doable by however many people are around at the time.

I consider skins and stuff reward, traits and skills shouldn’t be something you “work” for at all.
Did the defending and building up camps thing, took the chopper up to the canopy to find a champion that one shot me, not very fun. Tried 3 different choppers/canopies and same thing, this stuff needs to downscale if enough players aren’t around.
You won’t have any skills or traits for it until you grind them up though.

So what’s your solution dude? All I see are complaints. But no solutions ? Please give one
Uh this one is hard, can’t expect us to solve this difficult problem… oh wait I got it, let’s not make unlocking specializations take 400 hero points.
Personally I want specializations now rather than later because they would really help some classes and make certain builds much more viable and actually fun to play in PvE.
So your saying you want all the masteries mastered by the end of the expansion and the maps to be account wide so when you get done with the expansion you have nothing to do but say there’s no more content? I’m so confused as to what people want with a game. To beat it in a week??
He’s not saying masteries shouldn’t take a long time to get but that since they do take a long time to get specialization points shouldn’t be locked behind them. It’s like people don’t get this distinction, masteries being a grind is fine, specializations being a grind and also locked behind the mastery grind is not!
Like you want to unlock the specializations after you done the expansion content, what’s the point of getting a new class by the time you are done with the game rather than to enjoy the game with?
Never finish it? Mastery is account wide, if you can blow it through in a week then what is the point of having this system. People wanted progression and here is one. Were people complaining new gears require you to play the actual game to get?
Most complains I’ve seen are about hero points, not masteries. Big difference. I don’t mind grinding masteries if I could do it with my specializations fully unlocked.
Finding I can’t actually use the new skills and traits.
Running into champions and events which one shot me, or I can’t do enough damage to down them.

My max level chars have barely enough skill points to unlock the specialization… Been running around the new area for a few hours and got no skill points either, guess I’m only supposed to unlock them fully once I’m done with the expansion? Cause that’s dumb, I want to play through the new content with new abilities.
Should it get reintroduced, expect the TP price to fall accordingly.
I’d love that to happen, just imagine all the rage from TP hoarders… Unfortunately that’s exactly why they won’t do it I think.
Doubt they’ll ad something like this just for ele and engi. What they could and should add instead are like gear and build templates you can switch between easily for all classes.
Second skill shoots out a rainbow projectile, nothing else though as far as I could tell.
People bringing up the term “grind” in relation to Precursor Crafting is losing track of what a grind actually is. Doing SW Chest farms for 15 hours a day is a grind. Killing every single Karka in Southsun is a grind. Traveling to remote locations once to satisfy a prerequisite is a Quest.
Right. This part is fine, but as per the preview it looks like in addition to doing these quests you’ll also need a bunch of gold and expensive crafting materials.
Getting a precursor from the TP is fast, easy and expensive. As an alternative to that I would have expected crafting them to be somewhat challenging, and for it to take a while, but cost pretty much nothing – keep in mind crafting the legendary itself already takes a crapton of gold so there is no need to double charge on the precursor too.
Like if this system is to be useful it should be an alternative to the grind, not grind+.

I can see ele, guard or engi healers working quite well if their heal specs get buffed, but what about say thief who doesn’t have one to begin with?
It’s dragons and dinosaurs, that’s awesome, don’t even care what they do.
Assume these will be available for all rangers, not only druids?
That’s kind of the problem, druid seems so good at healing that unless other classes get a huge buff , healer druids might become required, don’t want to go back to lfg druid 8/10.
How come there even are fraudulent keys, wouldn’t all have to ultimately be purchased from Anet directly?
And NCSoft still owns them so if they wanted to pull strings, they presumably still could. This actually sounds like more work and risk for Anet themselves.
What does this mean and why should I care? (not sarcasm)
Better option:
Have arenanet fix the dungeons so they can’t be cheesed so easily, and scale the rewards so the dungeons are worth doing if you’re not haxploit speedrunning them. The fact that the stacking spots and skipping over 80% of most dungeons has been allowed to go on for so long is the problem, not the players looking for the most efficient way to clear them.
Anet’s mistake was balancing rewards around basically exploiting unintended quirks in dungeon design in stead of actually, you know, fixing the dungeons in the first place. They made legit runs so unrewarding they’re practically not worth doing in stead of just fixing the content and making full runs played as intended appropriately rewarding for the time and difficulty.
This. Shouldn’t even be that hard, just make it so the dungeon events won’t advance unless the mobs on the way are dead, and/or increase mob drops so killing them is actually worthwhile.
This should also unlock all the stuff the new player experience hides from new players, and let us disable those annoying popups on levelup too. Especially annoying if I just eat a scroll of experience and have to go through 20 of them in one sitting.
As an option it would work. I’m sure plenty of people would like to just click on a button and have the party formed for them.
Yup, especially with raids coming this might be nice.
It’s 10 man raids. Chances are we will be more than capable of using LFG to do them. Sure, initially raids will be challenging, but I doubt we can’t PuG through them after a little while.
Sure, just like you can PUG dungeons… if you are full zerker, already done it before, and are willing to exploit.
They locked the other, larger thread on this subject because we don’t have enough information to go on, and I don’t see why they won’t do the same here until we do.
Haha, that’s golden. Maybe they could, dunno, actually give us more information instead?
It’s just their fancy buzzword for semi-regular free content patches. (not a complaint!)
Come on folks, it’s obviously going to be Logan & Rytlock who get married.
Rebound still stucks, no trait changes, and the problem with overloads themselves weren’t a number thing, so tempest still looks unappealing… good thing ele is good on it’s own, still disappointing though.
Revenant sounds much better.
it should not come as a shock to any of you when you see a player with 10% winrate walking around with that PvP exclusive legendary backpiece.
I’m fine with this, skins and such should be earn able by anyone who puts in the effort, it’s a PvP exclusive because you need to do PvP to get it. Give leaderboards/titles/badges to those who care about win rates.
PvE legendaries also don’t require skill, just playing enough.

None has been able to tell me why there should be a ranked and unranked queue when other than maps they are identical. I’d keep hot join and custom arenas for those who just want to play and don’t care about leavers or matchmaking, and then a ranked solo queue and ranked team queue.
Rewards should be the same for all though, otherwise casuals or achievement hunters will just play the best reward one with no regard.
