Personally I find that clone Marjory idea to be incredibly dumb.
When video game writers try to be different at all costs or create insane twists for the sake of it we end up with crap like Mass Effect 3’s ending. No thanks.
Another vote for selectable maps like GW1 districts.
Story/Achievement rewards have been helmets, gauntlets or back pieces because they are universal, each class can use them. Not all classes can use great swords so it’s not going to be a living story reward – unless they’d release it as a set with other weapons to pick from.

I’d rather just buy it through supporting a game I enjoy than have to grind for it, or worse – be at the mercy of RNG.

New area is fun, I enjoyed the missions and liked the story, and character interactions were well done too. Overall happy with the quality of this update.
The issue isn’t people making warrior only groups, everyone is free to play with whoever they like. Warrior only groups are the symptom.
The issue is that warrior only groups are the most effective and brain dead way to play and it’s on anet to balance the game so other classes are desirable.
EarnBuy more gold. That’s the only solution you have, or will be offered.
Have you tried asking support by opening a ticket?
Folks arguing about balance and how overpowered uncapped conditions would be are missing the issue, which is:
1 zerker = 100% damage 2 zerkers = 200% damage 10 zerkers = 1000% damage
1 condi = 100% damage 2 condi = 100% damage 10 condi = 100% damage
Anet admitted the caps exists for technical limitations so arguing about balance is pointless.
Well, how would you have it designed?
Give reward based on how fast you finish.
I like being acknowledged and given credit. Past living story was missing that but I like the current treatment of my character and their role in the events.
Event scaling should ensure the same difficulty regardless of the number of players, but bosses actually get harder and take much longer the more players there are. This is counter intuitive.
Challenge should come from the encounters themselves and not from exploiting the scaling mechanic.
It is not retroactive. You will have to defeat her again to unlock the title.

I think Liadri was buggy and creating fake difficulty by bad design and relying on luck rather than skill to beat.

So instead of precursors requiring progress throughout the entire game (WvW, sPvP, and PvE) you think they should just add a vendor that sells them for 500g?
We are talking about precursors which do not require any of the above, not legendary weapons. And the thought behind this is that getting a precursor should be earned by some in game achievement that you can reliably work towards. Currently it involves getting extremely lucky or buying one from the tp, likely with gold made by tp manipulation or bought with rl cash.
And since making a legendary already has a large gold component tied to it in the gift of might and magic needing t6 mats and the legendary specific gifts needing lodestones or mats as well, the precursor should be earned in a different way.
Anet intended the precursor to be he first step of acquiring a legendary weapon rather than the last and I think making them rewards from the personal story would accomplish that, as well as tie actually beating the game into the legendary creation process since currently it isn’t.
We should have been given a precursor token for completing story mode.
They are busy because of the china launch, as they just started headstart there today.
I want to play right now or as quickly as possible, it’s already annoying that once a game becomes available you have to wait for the match to start, then wait again for the gates to open.
If currently it takes me longer than a minute to get a match I just click on hot join instead.
Precursors are an issue since there’s no way to get them but luck, but Anet acknowledges this and is supposedly working on a fix (no ETA). That said GW2 is still way less grindy than a lot of competitors.
Districts reveal how many players are in the game (or at least an estimate). I don’t think that’s information Anet wishes to divulge.

Megaserver system is great but should work like districts in GW1, allowing manual selection of servers. No need to reinvent the wheel when you already had a great system going in the first game.
They can’t guest between NA and EU servers for technical reasons. The account information is stored in one of 2 places, the EU server side or the NA server side. Because the 2 sets of servers are separate, there can’t be guesting between them.
I could transfer my account from EU to NA and back right now by paying for it, so it not being possible is simply untrue, they’d just need to make it free.
Anet seems to be doing quite well with GW2 as is, and I think the below does not include actual box sales either. Seems like they know what they are doing and that their business practices are working out for them so I see no reason to be concerned.
Without the cap a new player would have no way to catch up someone who’s been playing for longer. With this change it will take a long while still but new players won’t be at a permanent disadvantage. Change makes sense.
Even though their reason is a technical one that’s not an excuse to keep things as they are. If anet can’t make condition damage work with their current technology they should rework the system into something their engine can handle or scrap it. The current implementation is kitten and doesn’t work.

There actually isn’t a reason. Arenanet has actually never said why, they have also never said why poison and burning do not stack in intensity.
They actually did say it is for performance reasons. Their engine couldn’t handle uncapped conditions in it’s current state. It sucks and is a problem though I agree.
The temporary nature of the living story is an ongoing issue that has been talked about plenty, the issue is not specific to Chinese players.
So, it would be best if I level them to 80 and give them some good gear worth transmuting?
It doesn’t matter, PvE gear appearance will be used in PvP but your stats will be determined by the PvP Amulet.
I feel like all of these changes are great, but also feel a lot of these changes are how things should have been since launch. But better late than never, overall I’m optimistic because Anet is moving in the right direction with this stuff.
Your current PvP skins will be unlocked in your wardrobe, so you’ll need to get some random PvE gear then transmute it with the look you want. You’ll get some free transmutation charges to do so.
Liking almost everything about this, but waypoints should be made free.

I like the idea of a mega server, and eventually I would like to see individual servers done away with entirely. I think GW1’s district system was superior.

You are just unlucky to be up against kitten players I guess. I did it this morning on deso and we just let each other pass, none tried to fight anyone. I’ll second the suggestion to try this another time, I’m sure they’ll get bored of it eventually.
Great change, fully behind this, but could you also remove waypoint costs while you are at it? I think they are an even bigger issue than repair costs because it punishes people for meeting up with others or wanting to experience out of the way content.
Don’t care if people with double legendaries will get compensated one way or another, I do love the wardrobe function as announced though and hope you guys won’t take it out or break it just because some people complain. To me this is going to be the single best addition to the game since launch.
Bosses could just be given stun breaks or skills that grant temporary stability, make them play by the same rules as we do instead of these lame immunities they have now.
Blinding, stunning or debuffing a boss should be a viable and in some cases even the expected tactic.

Blinding Ashes seems cool, but not sure I’d use it over Persisting Flames, Elemental Contingency looks interesting. Aquatic Benevolence, guess it’s alright for a full support build but I’d rather cleanse conditions than heal others a bit more.
Lightning Rod and Stone heart seem like crap though, interupts won’t work against a lot of mobs because of defiance and I couldn’t even tell you if mobs ever crit.

Is this something I can just queue for once the tournament starts?
An actual solution would be for Anet to add an Use Whole Stack command to the right click menu.
Anet will NEVER ban you for using an auto clicker to open a stack of RNG loot bags/chests etc.
Anecdotal evidence only, but some people have been banned for botting when all they did was use it for the above.
