Love when stuff like this happens.
Buy stuff because you think it’s cool and want to use it, not to play the market.
I thought there is one – the manta like thing appears to be flying.
What do people mean when they say viable in PvE? Cause I’m already doing everything with non-meta builds (cele staff ele, non-druid ranger, flamethrower engie) with no issue whatsoever. If you are doing an event or fighting a world boss with other people doing non optimal dps shouldn’t matter.
Would have gotten it just to keep playing the storyline – mounts, cool new areas and the specializations looking cool is all just a nice bonus.
It was a great game and can be soloed thanks to Heroes, not sure how well it aged though.
Doing the achievements for the item unlocks is easy enough, after the first few tiers it only gives additional titles, the last of those can take ages to get.
Personally I like it, love that our character’s getting recognized and given the credit he’s due (commander, dragonslayer and all that).
Now find me some medium armor without a coat. XD
a person or thing that causes great trouble or suffering.
synonyms: affliction, bane, curse, plague, menace, evil, misfortune, burden, cross to bear, thorn in one’s flesh/side, bitter pill, trial, nuisance, pest;
Dunno, sounds about right to me. The german language is kind of hard to translate things to because it’s just so literal though… what would you have named them instead?
How can there be stolen keys, isn’t the only way to get a key to buy it from anet? Did someone break into their offices Mission impossible style and make off with a stack of papers.
What sites like these usually do is buy up cheaper retail copies, or buy their keys as regions where video game prices are lower because of currency exchange.
Didn’t know about the spirit shard thing, I agree that’s dumb.
What do you need the mastery for if you don’t want to raid?
You can glide in the new map.
Stop playing and return anytime without losing anything is one of the game’s selling points, not happening.
I’m honestly happy with any change that makes things easier for casuals and kittenes of hoarders and tp “barons”.
I think they are generally too busy to do parenting, which is why kids are mostly handed off to some kind of generic school and raised communally.
Cheap mats is good, hope they leave it in.
The layered nature of the hot maps also makes them a pain to navigate, personally happy with something more flat again.
Loving the raptor, actually feels like a mount that you control, but like not in an annoying way.
Fair enough, I still think evidence suggests the gods of GW are more along the lines of the Greek gods or Dungeons and Dragons, rather than actually being omnipotent, omniscient and all that. So they are powerful and have access to special powers, but can and have been challenged, tricked or even beaten.
The gods in GW already weren’t that powerfull to begin with, we’ve fought Abandon back in Nightfall.
Actually the way I heard it tengu were going to be the sixth playable race at launch, only they ran of either time or resources so they got cut.
Besides the narrative is written by anet so if they wanted to put in the resources to make tengu playable they’d just do it and write the story accordingly.
(edited by Shinzan.2908)
At that point they could just add a tengu outfit or transmog potion.
The value of dev time needed to make a new race work would probably vastly outweigh the actual value added to the game. They’d have to do models, voice acting, story integration (backwards too), make sure all the armor works… and in return all we’d get is a bit more cosmetic variety. Would be nice if they had infinite resources, but if it’s a question of Tengu or Mounts? – I’ll pick mounts.
Tengu are cool though, I wouldn’t mind seeing them play a bigger role in the story at some point.
Outside of raids/fractals/dungeons there is no “party”, most game content is done in the open world without grouping. For this there’s no need or reason to play a healer, though you certainly could, none and nothing stopping you.
It absolutely is anets fault. You can’t just grab 9 random other people, jump into a raid and make it to the end successfully, can you – that’s by design.
How?
Because they are tuned and designed for coordinated groups with good gear where every player knows what they are supposed to do within their role – so taking the non-meta speced guy in green gear who’s never done the raid before is actively detrimental if you want to actually beat it.
Did you turn up your graphic options? That just looks like a higher res texture.
Yea they changed it, this is good though as it no longer screws veteran players by making us pay double, now the expansion actually costs as much as an expansion.
They are not immortal, we killed a god back in GW1 – and the magic we use is a part of Tyria, the human gods harnessed it but they are not in charge of it.
Level 1 to 80 zones will be the base game which is free to play now.
Had to use up that 80 character booster, now he’s gonna wait for sniper rifles to get here.
Weaver looks great, and I wanted a sniper thief for ever, and while I didn’t think much of dagger warrior the skills look awesome in the preview so now hyped to try it.
Raids being elitist is kind of the point and why I think they are a mismatch for GW’s casual design style. I hope they’ll ditch them, and they’ll ad some alternative way to get legendary armor.
Glad no mention (that I have seen) of raids for the new expansion so far.
Hope not personally, or at least not anytime soon, would prefer dev time be spend on something else already.
1) Legendaries have no meaning except a shiny skin.
This is working as intended and by design, they aren’t supposed to be anything but a shiny skin.
Polymock on the other hand…
then don’t do the mission.
That is not acceptable, everyone deserves to play the content they like.
My ex was so tinny she didn’t get to ride most roller coasters which had a height limit, same situation really.
‘s why I asked earlier what Anet would need to do to eliminate this, if its just a toggle for turning off bright spell effects then sure, can’t expect them to design cutscenes without the camera moving though, for example.
Interestingly some armors actually do look great on them, like on some there’s even a flap for the tail that moves realistically and such. But yea, many just clip right through or don’t fit right. You can find good ones though if you look.
See that’s what I thought some one would say people like you only think of them self never of others your response is very rude.
What do you realistically expect someone, or even Anet to do about this? Like is there some easy to do graphic setting or toggle they could include, like some kind of alternate color blind mode, that would offset this?
If anet just included a simple trading window like in GW1 (both players put down items and lock in, both confirm, trade goes through) this wouldn’t be an issue.
No. Not going back in time. Do not want.
Definitely not, the tp is great.
I meant more like an additional thing, like use the TP to buy and sell, use p2p trading if you want to swap your spark for someone’s legend or whatever.
You think that’s bad? I bought the base game and now they give that way for free.

My suggestions for shirts and the like would be, don’t slap a guild wars logo on everything, I don’t want to be a walking advertisement.
A good example of how to do it is this Pokemon shirt: http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/3/2/9/9/3/9/webimg/710508859_o.jpg

It’s something you could just wear casually, and if someone catches the reference: great, for most it would just be a cool looking shirt.
I love the sylvari thing, it’s cool how you put in hints and hidden evidence pretty much from day one. People actually guessing it in advance makes sense when you have thousands of people comb through this stuff, and if even just one person puts it together others had to acknowledge it once it has been laid out.
My question is in relation to this, have you hinted or foreshadowed at anything else all the way back in GW1 or beginnings of GW2 that is still to come into play in the current or future storylines? Obviously not expecting specifics but just curious if any other plot threats or twists have been planed out this far in advance, possibly something people haven’t figured out yet?
Basically wondering if you plan everything out this far in advance or if this was a special case.

OP is right, this makes sense with actual physical goods, with digital goods there is no limited availability, these can’t be out of stock. Only real argument is that if everything was on sale all the time the shop window might be crowded so they might have to redesign it or add some search and filters.
If you want to play WvW and be anything but a staff guard, you can’t afford not to buy this “expansion”. It is so heavily steeped in pay2win that without farming the elites and all the broken runes and sigils hidden behind a paywall, you are going to have a bad time.
WvW is just “biggest zerg wins”, that’s one area where as long as you have some range anything will get you by in my experience.
It is indeed an issue if you play PvE and PvP and both with multiple classes. The required skill knowledge increases drastically and ends up frustrating.
What would be so hard to grasp about a skill having a higher cooldown or doing less damage in pvp? The game tells you everything you need to know by hovering above the skill.
Of course if this really is a problem, then balance around PvE which the majority plays.
The thread title might as well be “why you shouldn’t bother with ascended gear”. Wish getting armor and weapon wasn’t such a pain when trinkets can be gotten fairly easily and from multiple sources too.
Best mmorpg? No. Best at some aspects? Maybe.
I’m pretty much the opposite, while I think some other mmorpgs beat GW2 in one or two specific aspects none of them does things as well overall.
So while I can say I wish it had skill targetting like in Neverwinter online or a housing system like Widlstar etc, GW2’s still way ahead of them taken as a whole.
