I have to disagree with OP. Levelling still is fun for me. I have 20 characters and 18 of them are level 80, all except one I levelled by exploring maps, mostly the starter zones. I reckon if you’re looking to spend less than 100 hours getting to 80, then you’re looking to level too quickly.

Having said that, ArenaNet have provided this thing called a [Tome of Knowldege] which lets any character gain one level instantly. Also, every character on their birthday (both first and second currently) they are given a scroll which levels any character under level 20 to level 20. I am going to end up getting more of these than I can use, so I don’t understand why people complain about levelling being too slow, and I can’t understand what more players who do complain expect ArenaNet to do for them.

Because not every person in game has multiple characters close to birthday and that not every person who plays PvE only buys enough keys from gem store to get as many Tomes of knowledge to actually use them as a viable substitution to normal levelling up? Not to mention that the b-day 1-20 is completely useless considering those are the fastest levels to get in game and the real pain starts after that. Keep in mind that not every person plays PvP enough to fill stacks of Tomes.
I personally care very little about the NPE, should I level more characters it will surely not be through exploring and such. The OP has all the right to express his opinion about the system, with another bracket for everyone: if you like something it doesn’t imply that everyone else necessarely like it as well.

I really don’t manage to understand why people would rather have a full new model introduced to support the game rather than use the one already offered and simply buy gems on a monthly base…you really need the game to claim from you “PAY xxx$/€/£ NOW” instead of simply do the very same, without being told to? -.- Or is it just that some people claim to have a way to look “better” than the people who can’t afford sub fees?

Don’t throw away your rares into the mystic toilet, save every single copper and avoid gambling, it can give you wonders but it can also slow down your path to the ground and earn you huge frustration and disappointment.

I think they are already in game, just it will take probably 30k ap + to get them :/

Think how cool it would be if when you toggle this system on, the character you choose to gain the XP “became” a mini that followed you everywhere like a normal mini, but just with the exact look of your lowbie :O Would love it to death!

But still. When I go to do events like Jungle wurm in Caledon, even on my 80, sometimes the husk champions (when I fight them without being in a team) still drop white-rarity bags, you could give a try there for the white ones…
Though I’m clueless as for how to get blue green and yellow quality :/

If you are experienced enough, duoing are more or less possible with any professions combo. Me and sis for example, use to duo on ele and engi and things go smooth like silk. Just in some case one of us might need to switch to optimize some encounter, so one of us changes on guardian, war, thief etc according to our needs
I guess easiest combo to start with would be guard and war though, maybe with phalanx

It will surely be available again some time in the future, you just need to be a bit patient

I normally have this strategy when levelling up:
1-15 I get quickly by completing one and half starter area (using cheap nourishments for the 10%x2 XP from kills)
Reached level 15, I head to Diessa, first heart if you get there from Black Citadel. Completed that, speak to the heart vendor and buy a full lvl 15 Masterwork armor for almost nothing. Get a Masterwork weapon too if it didn’t drop already and head to do the story. It will get you about 2-2.5 levels. After that, some quick and very cheap crafting (Chef and artificer normally, guess jeweler can do as well) to bring yourself to level 20+25.
(If you can, try to complete the 2 reward tracks from PVP every day, in order to get the 2 tomes of knowledge, but try to keep these for lvl 50+)
After that, move to story again then rush to clear Gendarran fields, very quick, easy and xp rewarding map. Don’t skip the events, most of all when they help for hearts progression!
As you reach level 30, continue story again and from here on just proceed with whatever power-levelling you can do, dungeons if you have nice guildies/friends to let you join, EotM, more crafting if you have tons of materials/gold…
Oh, one tip never to forget! Make sure to complete your daily on that lowbie, that’s quite a good amount of XP as well rewarded from that!
When you reach level 60, head to Mount Maelstrom and Fireheart Rise. Finish both, they reward exotics for completion and allow you to get more XP, can be a very worthy way to earn 5-8 levels+a nice bunch of gold if you are lucky enough to be rewarded with some exotic with valuable runes or sigils.
Then you can try with Straits of Devastation (I myself on my last char have finished whole Orr included Cursed Shore before reaching level 78)
But overall I highly suggest to do some little amount of PvP every day, just to spare some tomes, they help a lot!

Hmm…my first wow was indeed the first time I logged in, during a stress test pre-launch…for the game is superior than anything I had ever seen before, in everything! (And still is, truly )
Then many wow moments following, when I created my first Charr and.."WoW!!! They go on all fours!!! " , when I first saw Twilight on a player, a looooong time ago…the mini dungeon in the first halloween event was a big WOW! Q.Q
When I saw revamped effects given on Eternity was another wow moment…and…mini Zuzu - Aaand…when I got my first Tequatl Hoard yesterday, definitely the best drop I’ve ever had ever -
And the most epic and I mean EPIC wow I’ve ever had though was…when I entered Bria’s house in Iron Marches during her event, still WOW whenever I go back inside again!

Press Y → LFG → Open world events → TAXI FOR CHEST FARM/TAXI FOR ORGA SW. Pretty easy formula.

Alright, to start with, you can no longer rez your pets, if they die they will auto rez as you get off combat, so it’s pretty more needed to switch between a pet and the other if you rely much on them in fights.
Laurels are obtained by doing dailies and monthlies and as reward for reaching some specific amounts of achievement points, Badges of Honor is the currency you get from WvW. With laurels you can buy some different items including ascended rings, accessories and amulets (even though it’s better to buy accessories via guild commendations, achieved from guild missions)
Fractals is something like a dungeon, just one run is made of 4 “mini dungeons” . And particular thing about Fractals is that to run higher levels (10+) you need agony resistance, which you can buy from Fractals vendor with fractal relics and apply to your ascended trinkets, armor and weapons.
The old servers system was replaced in PvE by the Megaserver system. Basically it’s like you no longer have a home server except in WvW. You can play, in PvE with people from any server. If you are not in their same “overflow” while in the same map, all you need to do is to join them by right clicking on their icon.
The story is pretty much personal fact, I for example like Asura story the most :P
As for dungeons, The LFG is not really friendly. The best for you to start dungeons would be to be in a helpful guild and be taught by your guildies. If you can’t, be very careful in reading the LFG descriptions. Don’t join teams asking for “exp/lvl 80/zerk/speedrun only” for now, or you risk to be kicked and receive unpleasant comments. Start with AC story, if you can’t find a team which allows anyone to join, type your own adv, stating it’s your first time and that everyone is welcome, so that more relaxed people not fussed to speedrun things will join your team and avoid unpleasant situations for you!

X’DDDD Now seriously, if you think the nerf will magically bring all of the people who were farming chests to tag up, split and do those so unrewarding boring and almost more repetitive than mindlessly run around to open chests, you have no idea of how things work. all that the nerf is going to do is to move all those people away from the map, unless new farms will pop up at some point. And I didn’t manage to get my achievements done yet, and barely spent any time farming chests so…

Speedrun dungeons and to empty your annoyance for the nerf, be a 101% more “elitist jerk” to punish all those haters who wanted the farm nerfedDDD

I do, I keep only Dragonite because it’s the one you don’t end up drowning inside unless you hunt world bosses hardcore.

To me the solution should be even simpler. Leave the drop rate as it is but the boxes must let you choose which armor piece/weapon and which stats not like it is right now though, because I am kinda sick of getting yet another healing power leg armor you know? So please, considering how rare it is to get an ascended box, make it be something useful, because seriously, I have a longbow+legs armor+another unused weapon chest rotting in my bank, stuff I refuse to use (i opened the longbow box only to unlock the skin -.-)
Edit. And please, don’t answer me trash like “some boxes allow you to choose!” because they give you a restricted amount of stats to choose among, always focused on one main thing (ex. healing power box, allowing you to choose any stat which has healing power in it.)

If I got a precursor it would be the most unexpected precursor drop for me, even if it dropped from MF after throwing 4 exotics of the same type in it.. >_>

Overpriced items returning to a more stable and appropriate price is what you are actually calling “destroying a market”? To me, it’s more likely stabilizing the markets than breaking them. Plus, I noticed barely any differences in crafted berkerker’s jewelry, still being on an average of 4g.
Unless you think that a normal exotic zerker one-hand sword, priced 80g despite not being insanely rare is in any way balanced.

Advantages on the formal/practique/effectiveness side are in my opinion 2: having different crafting disciplines available on different characters without the need to pay every time to reactivate one on a single character/no need to spend gems to upgrade the amount of disciplines that can be active on a single character at once and number two, if you run dungeons and fractals it might always be good to have a few different professions ready, in case your team gets to need you to switch on something else.
On the other side, you can enjoy the sight of different armors and have fun mix’n’matching with them all :P

In my experience as others mentioned already, in some moments of the day it can be quite slow to fill a 30+ team, most of all if you have requirements. If you run under 30 though it’s quite a piece of cake, takes me no time to fill lvl 29s/19s normally

The only title I am after is Champion Magus, but if you can’t rely on a PvP full team, it’s quite a far thingie to achieve

No, if you are after an ascended armor set, your only real way to get it in a reasonable time is to craft. You can’t rely on the super rare chance to drop one random piece with random stats, unless you don’t care about it and would happily run around with 6 different stats on each armor piece

Learn to run Arah and have a good 1-3 run, with a good team doesn’t take too long and gives you quite a good gold.

I craft for:
1 level up alts (but that’s just about cook and artificer)
2 craft legendaries
3 craft ascended
4 get achievements ( only when I notice my collectibles are particularly full)

I crashed more than once right a minute before Teq’s death, after waiting 1 hour for the event to start..karma…

I absolutely agree…I’m dragged back from playing any female Charr or Asura for the same reason. I don’t care what their races think about fashion and look I am to play them so I should decide what my Asura/Charr think about their look.. Q.Q Please ANet!

I will 100% not win since in game I’m like 9999% unluckier than in RL -where I’m already 100% unlucky when it comes of gambles- sooo I really can’t wait to hear people officially saying they won, so that the pale spark of hope to get it will fade for good >.>

I am simply in love with the male version of this armor and I will do everything needed in order to get full set for my male human ele. You can say you don’t like it on Charr, not that it is “atrocious” on any male character, that’s your opinion, soz.

Actually…if you get many rares from world bosses or run lots of high level dungeons (To get free ectos from)…I think a pretty profitable game is to throw them in MF for mystic clovers crafting. It really gives insane amounts of T6 if you are lucky…and MC are still decent to sell to merchant or to keep for a future legendary

Warrior is definitely the easier choice, less hard to play as zerker -imo at least- and it is a little more low-thinking profession. Basically, all you need to do is to spam dps, “for great justice” whenever it’s not in cd, place banner (possibly in a fire field to blast). Basically, the most thinking required is to see what banners other warriors in team are using
While with guardian you need to think more, be sure to remove conditions when needed, to use reflect in the right moment and give aegis to your team in critical moments. In my opinion, if you are new, best to start with warrior until you will be experienced enough to recognize on your own when there is need of aegis-condi removals-wall of reflection. ^^

I think the most worth it, effort/reward wise are the dungeons collections and jar collections. That is, if you, like me, enjoy to run dungeons. Otherwise I guess the Ambrite weapons collection is not too bad, you can get the fosilized insects as sure end reward track from PvP, so if you have all weapons craftings to 400 it’s not much hassle. Unless you hate to farm Dry Top, that would still be needed to aquire enough geodes for the recipes.
But this is my vision.

I’d suggest you start with Berserker and train yourself with it, I assure you, at the beginning it can be a bit hard -my experience- but after some time you’ll get used to it and learn to rely more on your evades and dodges.
As for weapons, best way to go is greatsword for impressive damage and easy evade with skill 3, and axe+sword, for quicker autoattack with axe, block to rely on with sword #5 and some good torment spam with sword #4 which never harms
If you need a ranged weapon, choose longbow rather than rifle, it allows you to have 1 blast and 1 fire field which can be comfortable to have, most of all in solo situations. Hope to have been helpful! ^^

At least 5 months of daily Tequatl and never seen one single hoarde. Played since betas, 2 accounts, 6k+ hours played running dungeons, world bosses, PvP, FotM on massive amount for the whole time, never gotten a precursor, best drop ever seen was the pink sword from champ boxes…know someone with 300 hours gaming who dropped Zap and Spark. Someone else who on the same week dropped 2 the Legend+endless hairstyle kit.

Fear it won’t happen, but I’d love if they added this tbh. I hate 99% of the current back items -the only one I appreciate is the ultimate Fractal Capacitor-.

Sometimes I seriously curse outloud so hard while doing PvP that I think if people heard me they would sue me… >.<

When there is another person playing my same profession in a dungeon team, I hope all the time the other will be downed and look less good than me Q.Q

Whenever I am after a Legendary, I feel as if every person around me has that specific Legendary, example: when I was after Meteorlogicus, it was like it was the only Legendary in game and I was always surrounded by people with it, now that I have it, they disappeared and Bifrost owners have replaced them! xD

I am jealous of my turret when I play Tequatl and I am paranoid about people trying to steal it from me. u.u

When I play with my sister and she goes afk, I pull anything possible against her character to get it killed… o.o’

In the moment a person can go afk and just make that half step not to be kicked for inactivity by the game, and actually WIN , the person is exploiting.

I’ve opened just about 100 or so, got from them 3 of those shiny candy wrappers this afternoon.
