Jade Quarry does Teq a LOT with a very nice success rate. TTS does Teq twice daily on JQ, iirc, but they do it in their own overflows where you must be lucky to get into, unless you are a member of TTS. They usually have 2 or 3 overflows. If you can get in the main, then success is 99% guaranteed there as well. There are also other guilds who organize Teq fights, but more sporadically and the success rate is not 100%.

Basically, if you want success, get into TTS of or main, but be sure to get there early as it fills up pretty fast, especially main.

Best Teq run I’ve had was with TTS and we killed Teq with 6 mins to spare.

Actually, the location of Primordus was near the asuran Central Transfer Chamber, which was visible on the GW1 map as being a bit north of Yak’s Bend in the Shiverpeaks, so that would place it now on the border between the Shiverpeaks and what is now Charr Homelands. And even though he awakened, I don’t think a several-hundred-meters long dragon went tunneling about, so he should still be there.

I HATED that Heart sooooo much. I tried watching the movement of the NPCs in order to get the pattern, but I ended up just doing the first few flags and then waiting for them to respawn. Long and tedious.

It is a great mystery to me why in the world of Tyria, where gigantic events take place and huge godlike dragons plan the destruction of everything and everyone, the focus is on things like SAB. I know there are a lot of people that enjoyed SAB, but I am certainly not one of them. If I wanted to play oldschool jumping games with pixelated graphics, I would do so; I certainly don’t want to be confronted by such things while playing GW2.

GW2 needs more GW2 in it, not silly add-ons.

If people enjoyed SAB, then it should definitely be present, but why make such a big fuss over something that has so little connection to the world of Tyria?! IMO, any SAB updates should not be considered as main LW updates, but that’s probably what we will get.

After the epicness of the Clockwork Chaos event and all events that preceeded it, ANet has really taken the foot off the pedal with LW events. They have all been small and secondary (SAB, revamping Teq, TA new path, even the Tower of Nightmares was small in comparison to what we got prior to SAB 2). Why is this?! ANet was going in a good direction with events that got bigger and bigger (you know, like they promised some while ago), but then suddenly stopped. I don’t even want to get into the Fractured update, when they mercilessly deleted player progression. It was all very dissapointing for me, I had high expectations of what could become of the Living World. I imagine that making such large events every 2 weeks ate up a lot of resources, but I assumed they did take this into account when they said that LW events will get larger and have a bigger impact on the world.

I am curious as to what the conclusion of the Scarlet story ark will be, but I don’t dare to hope it will be as glorious as the events of last summer. Time will tell.

What are the best ways to level up?

Be sure to always have food active, since you get 10XP per kill from any food. Use XP boosters if you have them. I would also recommend exploration since that way you get 2 things done, working towards 100% and leveling; and it’s always useful to have as many WPs as possible so you can travel faster. You should also always carry gathering tools since each gathering gives you XP. Do all events you find.

WvW is an awesome way to level and it’s pretty fun – you should give it a try.

If you do PvP, use Glory to get Scrolls of Knowledge (or w/e they’re called), which give you one level each.

Always do dailies and monthlies, they give a nice amount of XP.

Crafting gives you about 10 levels per profession brought to 400, but they cost a bit. See guides such as gw2crafts.

Need A Little Insight

I think it’s best to do Renown Hearts and a little exploration in the areas of your level, as well as any events that pop up. Keep in mind that event chains are repetitive and after a short (or long, in some cases!) while they will start again.

Take into account that you are not stuck to your race’s starter area! You can go to the capital of your race (Hoelbrak, The Grove, Divinity’s Reach etc.) and there you will find an Asura Gate that will take you to Lion’s Arch, which is the main city of the game. There you will find Asura Gates that will take you to all the capitals, and from each capital you can get to that race’s starting area and you can begin doing renown hearts and events and exploration there. If you want to play and have more people around, I suggest that you favor the human starting area, Queensdale, since there are a lot of players doing stuff in that area.

Another tip is to immediately buy gathering tools (Logging Axe, Mining Pick and Sickle) and equip them. There are plenty of resource nodes to be had all around and, besides giving you resources which can be sold for cash on the Trading Post, they will also give you XP for each gathering.

If you want to level a bit faster, you can also buy food that you can use at your level and that gives you a certain bonus for a limited period of time. The bonus is not that relevant (although you might want something that does help you), but each such food also gives you 10 additional XP per each kill, and this can help a lot if you are looking to level faster.

For food, I would recommend talking to either of these merchants located in Queensdale:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Farmhand_Paris
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Farmer_Eda
From Eda you can buy with karma (you need level 5 to use her food, though), from Paris with coin (no level requirement) – see whichever you preffer.

As for weapons – they are not that relevant until you hit level 80 and you can actually prepare a proper build. Just use the best weapons you get as drops, they should suffice – it’s what I did when I started playing and had no issues. You can also buy weapons from Armorsmiths and Weaponsmiths, and also Renown Heart merchants after you complete their renown heart. You can read about weapons on the wiki and see exactly what you want when you hit lvl 80.

You should also be sure to complete the daily and monthly activities, these will give you some nice XP and goodies.

I hope this helps.

Cheers!

You can always hire some players who bought the musical instruments and who can put on town clothes to look like a band and play for you. And, if you want something just for the two of you, I recommend the Hidden Garden (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hidden_Garden), it’s a fantastic place.

Have fun!

Best you can do is make it account bound, I think. Once something is soulbound, I don’t see how you can completely unbind them. At least for now, I’m fairly sure they will add an unbinding tool to the gem store for ten million billion gems at some point.

best way to obtain luck?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: SkyFallsInThunder.8257

SkyFallsInThunder.8257

Since the update when they introduced the luck essences, I salvaged all the salvageable drops I got using the most basic 25-uses kits. I am now at 116%MF only from essences and, to me, it was well worth it since I noticed an increase in good drops – I get more rares and exotics from mobs and even got a Bard from a veteran ice ele in Snowblind Fractal. Not to mention all the mats I get from salvaging and the fact that I don’t have to worry about filling my bags and not having room for more loot when in FOTM or WvW. And the 2AP every 200 salvages are nice.

If you want to go for big MF, you might as well get the 20% MF infusion, too.

WvW ranks - don't make sense

in WvW

Posted by: SkyFallsInThunder.8257

SkyFallsInThunder.8257

The reason the rank titles are how they are is because of the sheer immensity of the number of rank titles needed. This is not something that has 10-15 tiers, but a lot more. They used the military ranks a bit because that is a system that already exists and is easy to recognize, but those titles are fairly few comparative to what is needed here.

Basically, ANet needed a system that could allow to add more ranks when they are needed, since the WvW progression is not limited and in some years there would surely be people who top the current ranks. This system of “divisions”, if you will, seems to be the best one, since you can add more divisions later, when they are needed.

And, honestly, if the 4th rank title you get is Recruit, the 12th one is General and the 15th is Legend, what would you guys think the 42nd should be? Or the 67th? How can you devise a system that allows for, say, 100 named progressive rank titles?! With the possibility to add more when they are needed?

You could play the t6 lottery but if you want to play it safe you could always use 5 to make 10 unidentified dyes for ~3g

Well, since he would get ~60s per laurel if he gets the worst t6 mats possible as drops (which is unlikely for all 3 slots), I think the t6 bags method is better than the Unidentified Dyes, which give him ~60s per laurel with no chance to get more.

Keep in mind that the only t6 mats that drop from these are the 8 ones used to craft legendaries (Powerful Blood, Potent Venom etc.). You won’t get any Gossamer/Ancient Wood or the likes from these bags.

Ascended trinkets are the first priority imo, but be mindful of how you go about obtaining them!

First and foremost, do not buy them from the regular Laurel Merchant found in the capitals across Tyria. Instead, go to any WvW map and talk to the Laurel Merchant there. You can buy the same gear with a discount of 10 laurels, but you need to pay 250 Badges of Honor instead. This, however, is no downside since we have been flooded with these from the Achievement Point reward chests.

Secondly, only the Amulets are worth getting with laurels, the rest you can get in other ways:
1. Accesories – the price in laurels is outrageous, especially since the price of ectos has doubled, but you can get them with Guild Commendations from the LA vendor. Each accesory costs 12 Guild Commendations + 5 gold. The Commendations you get from doing the weekly guild missions; if you do them all, you get 6 Commendations per week, so you should have enough for one accesory every two weeks.
2. Rings – you can easily get these from doing Fractals of the Mists. From personal reward level 11 onward you have a good chance to get a random ring from the daily chest at the end of the 4th fractal. You will also start getting Pristine Fractal Relics, one per daily chest, and you can buy rings with 10 Pristine Fractal Relics from the vendor in Mistlock Obervatory. If you are in a hurry or just don’t do FOTM at all, then you can buy the rings from the Laurel Merchant but, again, go to the one in WvW for the awesome 10 laurels dicount. And about not doing FOTM… did I mention that you can get 20-slots bags for the low price of 150 regular Fractal Relics? Or Obsidian Shards for 15 regular Fractal Relics per? Or Ascended armor/weapons from the daily chest? Yeaaaah… FOTM is good all around.

Another use for the laurels is infusions for your ascended gear – see both regular Laurel Merchant and WvW one, since they sell different infusions. And, yes, if you put a WvW infusion into an item, you will get both bonuses from it while in WvW, but you will also get the regular bonus while in PvE (for example, the Mighty WvW infusion which gives +5 Power and +1% Damage to Guards, Lords, and Supervisors).

Another use for laurels is the Ascended weapons recipes. If you plan on crafting them, then you should save up some laurels since each recipe is 5 laurels and some gold.

Finally, if you have all the above and still have some extra laurels that are just lying around, just go through the Laurel Vendors lists and see if anything tickles your fancy. If not and you just want to make some cash, then buy the Heavy Crafting Bag. Each costs 1 laurel and gives you 3 random tier 6 materials. Since these have gone up in price quite a bit and sell for 20-35 silver each, you can expect to get as high as 1g per laurel.

I hope this helps.

Cheers!

To top that off, I’m beginning to think that the 48% from Gnashblade isn’t as grand as people are trying to make it out to be, because everyone I know that voted on Kiel, threw some tokens Gnashblade’s way for buttons to do the Achievements.

I wonder what the percent would be if that was taken out of the equation?

Well, the average, non-farming, person threw in some 1-200 support tokens. Out of these there were about 3-5 tokens to the other candidate for achievements, and the rest to their candidate of choice. And this is the average non-farming people; i know many who put in 500+ or more. How big an influence would these 3-5 tokens for achievements have? I think 1% or less.

Think things through before you post stupid stuff.

I wholeheartedly agree with OP – people want Fall of Abbadon fractal! It would be awesome if this idea was not scrapped. ArenaNet has a license to do tons of awesome stuff with fractals, and visiting cool moments in Tyrian history is something I think players would appreciate.

As a thought, here are a few other ideas that I think would be cool:
1. Seer vs. Mursaat (bring back the Mursaat!);
2. Extinction of the Lupicus;
3. Destiny’s Edge vs. Kralkatorrik;
4. First Human-Charr war and establishment of Ascalon;
5. Coming of the humans to Tyria;
6. Margonites vs. Forgotten.

The list can go on. The point is – bring the history of Tyria to life! Start by making the Fall of Abbadon fractal!

Bring back some GW1 armor skins.

Posted by: SkyFallsInThunder.8257

SkyFallsInThunder.8257

I would really love to see some of the GW1 armors in GW2.

Like Harper, I found precious few heavy armors in GW2 the design of which I do not loath. It’s all spiky and huge and looks a lot like the cartoon-ish armors in some other online games, which I will not mention here. I do hope ANet can do better than that.

The design of most of the heavy armors in GW1 was closer to reality, they looked like armors someone with common sense would actually have crafted/worn in real-medieval-life. Most of the armors in GW2 are so over-the-top, with huge pauldrons that seem to float over your shoulders… Come on! It’s bad enough that the greatswords are taller than a norn and sometimes wider than a norn’s back and probably would weigh 100kg+, at least get the armors right!

It would be awesome to see some new designs getting into the game, but getting the GW1 skins into GW2 via the gem store seems like a cheap way to get a lot of people happy. And it would earn them some more money in the process…
