From 400 to 499, the best gear you can craft is exotic, which has the same stats for every level of crafting in between. At 500 you can craft ascended gear, which is top dog at the moment.
I used dugneon armor, seemed easiest to obtain.
I see the mystic forge in your future
The mini Jennahs can’t be mysticly forged…
Just make another exotic Spinal Blades, they’re pretty cheap to make.
I should think so, but have never tried it. Of course, only if you haven’t got the rewards for that week already.
This is a strictly subjective question. It depends on what you like more and want to get to level 80 ASAP. However, I’d say that using the Tomes on the Warrior is better since you can get him to 80 pretty fast and then make a proper build for him and see how you like it. If you do like him, you can play warrior and have fun; if you don’t, you can focus fully on ranger.
because I need 55 AR for further progression and God knows how long it will take to drop Zojja’s chest.
You can easily do 49 runs with 50 AR, I’ve been doing this for a while now. Best to keep the unopened chest for future uses IMO.
It’s not bad. I went with cultural t3+Vigil Helm, all fully dyed Pyre with Celestial tabbard, suits me fine for now.
I think…Exotic – 3 arms, Ascended – 4 arms (per side) and only Ascended can be colored.
It could be, but the difference in price between 3 pairs of arms and 4 pairs of arms+color is truly brobdingnagian and one has to wonder if it’s truly worth it. If OP finds that to him it is worth it, then farming is the way to go, unless he gets a really really lucky drop in WvW…
If you just want the skin, why do you care if you get it as Ascended or Exotic? Is there a difference between them, skinwise? As to the color, I’m not sure if you can add it to Exotic version or it only works on Ascended, and the wiki is broken for me atm.
I’m saying this because I made the backpiece only as far as Exotic in order to be able to access Scarlet and it seems the same skin to me…
Legendaries will never be legendary as long as you can buy them in the TP.
Otherwise, I agree 100% on making the quest to obtain them more diverse and challenging, as opposed to just cash grind.
I would say they are also going to the lord’s room in order to reach their objective – capping your tower, which you will have to wait a while before getting it back. Then they can take their time destroying all siege and in hunting you down, if need be.
It is indeed pleasant to see a small group of focused people being able to down so many enemies, but the remainder of the zerg will still wipe you and then res their buddies. This would only work on smaller groups of 10-15 people, but anything over that will net you a fast (and glorious!) ticket to Respawn Town.
Other than a ticket what are you hoping to get? rest is all junk.
Not really, there are the endless tonics (I got lucky and got an endless furniture one a few days ago), minis (2-3g, but still alright) and the very rare and extremly expensive permanent bank contract, hair stylist etc. These last are the true treasures of the BLC IMO. IIRC, there is currently an offer to buy a perma hair stylist contract for 2.500g on the TP…
I like Urban to. It is probably my favorite because it has great lore executed very well, and a sandbox style approach to path and combat.
I to would love to be able to have siege in this fractal (-:
I still want to see a second fractal that uses the same map as the basis for a lane defense encounter like we saw at the Marionette. Maybe change the lighting to nighttime to improve the contrast.
When you arrive you’re all transformed into Ascalonian Soldiers and order to move forward to support Commander Dulfy where you have the option of running some of her siege weapons. When the gates fall you have to fight in each of three lanes chosen randomly from all the paths on the map again with the option to rebuild/use siege that may be lying about. In the final encounter you have to keep Captain “Rally to me! RUUUAAAAGGHH!” alive for 90 seconds. Then the outnumbered buff kicks in and you fight to the death (without equipment damage) to see how many juicy loot-piñatas you can bust before you go down like a goddang HERO!
Seriously, I want my very own “Boromir moment” where victory is determined not by living to see the dawn, but by how many Charr bodies you heap up before your inevitable demise.
And using the same map saves on development overhead
. That my excuse and I’m sticking to it.
This would be wonderful!
Ascalon aeterna!
Guild Wars 2 has one of the best gaming communities out there, sadly, other games are even worse. I won’t discuss it alot with you, since I know that such people excist and it doesn’t need to mean that they are ‘’bad guys’’.
Most of these guys farm duengons for serveral goals and want really fast runs therefore a less experienced player is gonna slow down the farming. The huge issue is when those same people come on the forums and post about how Guild Wars 2 isn’t challenging.
Some tips I could give to you is firstly to enter a friendly and secondly to try asking on the map chat for people willing. If you ask in a friendly way, mentioning that you are new but wanting to try the duengons, many will help you.
Lastly, if you are playing duengons for lvl’ing all the way to 80, I could tell you that you are playing this game wrong xD
This!
How about this Sorudo.
Join the dungeon mentor guild, or just contact what we call a “general mentor” and they will teach you dungeon basics. Happily. Without payment. Be ready to learn bosses. Be ready to put effort in, and you will get a group of “elitists” like myself trying to help you. And no, I don’t care what your build is, but that’s because I make my own groups, and I don’t expect to join a meta run on my half zerk ele. I expect to make my own groups, I expect to answer questions people ask, but what I don’t expect is to run through a dungeon carrying a group because none of them want to ask questions.
That’s the truth. That’s how I feel. I don’t see why you’re so against finding help.
Or he could actually put forth some effort and go to youtube or dulfy and either watch or read how certain content is done.
Problem solved.
But, Why would anyone waste time doing that….?
<boggle>
or play it the way i like to play a dungeon, shocker i know but that’s life.
why should i turn in to a creepy speed cleaner if i don’t enjoy it, i bought the game just as you did (and maybe even spend more on it, have the CE) and so i have every right to play a dungeon the way i like to.really, the nerve you ppl have, dictating ppl how they “should” play and how it’s “done”, i do a dungeon the way i want it and that’s taking my sweet time exploring.
btw, i don’t learn anything when it’s on youtube, i rather do it my self, that teaches me 10X faster then any website or youtube video can ever show me.
You are perfectly right in this, you can and should enjoy the game how you want. On your own. You have no right to impose this style on anyone. If you see people that want to do it differently, simply don’t play with them. Seems easy enough to me.
Let me tell you how things are from my perspective: I get only a few hours of gameplay each day, 3 at most. In this time I want to do as much as possible. Therefore I want my runs to take as little time as possible, so I advertise parties for level 80 only, experienced etc.
I usually have no objections to people with fewer AP, but I will kick your noob kitten when we wipe for the third time in a row at Spider Queen in AC because you will not stack and ignore chat while the party tries to explain the strategy to you.
I am not your keeper, I will not carry you through a dungeon on my time simply because you feel you are entitled to this: you are not. I have just as much a right to play how I chose and to party whom I want as you do. Our views are different? We part ways.
On a more positive note, your best bet is to join a guild and run with them, or at least correctly advertise your LFG: say you are inexperienced etc, you will be surprised how many people are willing to go with you and teach you how to run the dungeon. A little while ago I decided to finish my Dungeon Master and do those paths that are less frequented. Every time I joined a party, the first thing I did was to explain to them that it was my first time there and ask them if they were alright with that. I was never rejected while doing this.
There are always people that will try to help new players and I think they are awesome because of that, but always remember that this is theirs to give and not yours to demand.

That wouldn’t solve anything, the weapons were done so sloppily and lazily, in their current form, they are an insult to guild wars 1. And the ship has long sailed past for these being a part of your legacy when they did the zodiac weapons, which were also sloppy but not nearly as much as these. Sure these were hom weapons, but that’s about it, you can craft destroyer weapons extremely cheaply, and oppressor weapons will be ticket claim weapons next. They’re probably going to put in some guild wars 1 armors in the cash shop as well.
The weapons are indeed poorly done, the Shield especially was a huge dissapointment for me, as well as the Greatsword. This version of the shield does not even come close to the awesomeness of the one from GW1. But I maintain that it would be a nice gesture towards the GW1 veterans who collected the entire Tormented set in their HoM, if they would receive one free ticket for a GW2 Tormented skin. And it would definitely cut down on the griefing. It’s not a big thing, but it would be nice. Regardless of this, I will get the only GW2 Tormented skin that I like (Axe).
I wouldn’t want them because of HoM, but more because of what they represented in GW1. Destroyer and Opressor weapons were never close to the prestige the Tormented ones held, they were just other weapons to be put in HoM.
And there are already 2 armor sets from GW1 in the gem store, Primeval and Krytan (IIRC).

I mean the unidentified dyes (dye packs are fine), scrolls of knowledge (tomes of knowledge are fine), essences of luck, and mystery tonics.. those all need to be removed, along with wintersday gifts (when they’re in season) and alliance bags.
This!
While the chances are indeed low for tickets/scraps, I did notice a decrease in their drops of late. I went 10-15 chests without a single scrap; after that, however, I did get 2 scraps from 2 chests in a row. I would put this on RNG and move on, but I am not the only one to notice this: several friends have complained that the chests yielded less scraps/tickets since the Tormented weapons came online…
(edited by SkyFallsInThunder.8257)
I kind of wish they’d have consulted the HoM calculator and given a ticket in the mail to individuals who had collected them all from GW1, it’s rather annoying to see them returned and part of bridging your legacy is now items that were added to it, not in the game on release, and now redone in the gemstore; Classy.
This would have settled this whole issue IMO. GW1 vets should be satisfied (I know I would be), while the skins would be in gem store making $$$ for ANet.
It’s not too late to implement this, ANet!
This “full” status varies wildly, tell your friend to keep checking the transfer option a few times each day and she will find a window to get in and join the fun. I joined JQ ~ 1 year ago and it was the same back then, I had to keep spamming for 2-3 days before I got in.
GW1 was easy with heroes and henchmen, now that you can run a party of 7 heroes and your own self, it’s just silly. Find the right builds/team composition for each task at hand and you will have no problem going through it on your own. And while it is nicer to do it with other people, remember that they can always suck/have bad builds/have no clue how to use them… Heroes, on the other hand, you can control yourself to some extent, even use their skills in their place if it’s really needed.
Karka Queen and Temples get you 30 dragonite per, just doing those on a daily basis will get you all you need. The dragons also give you some, and I think Golem.
This is a good suggestion and it would be awesome on the part of ANet to implement this for legendaries!
Yes, as long as you don’t transmute it. When you will make the Ascended version, it will reset and you will be able to choose stats again.
WvW is also a good place to get karma, and fractals if you do a lower level than your PR.
I think the 50 people limitation is not for hologram, but for Knights, and not for damage but for the color buff: only 50 people would get the color buff for one knight and once this number is reached, no other players can get it for that fight.
Might as well throw in my 2 cents:
1. Stop dropping uninfused rings above level 20-30. It’s just ridiculous to finish a lvl 49 fractal and get an uninfused Melaggan’s Whorl.
2. Kill the stupid clown car!
3. Make the cash rewards better. Something along the lines of: PR 1-10, 1g; PR 11-20, 2g; PR 21-30, 3g; PR 31-40, 4g; PR 41-50, 5g.
4. Get those pesky fractal weapon chests up already! Fractal harpoon is nice, but it gets old after your 3rd. And no matter how kitten I think my warrior is, he simply will not dual-wield shields! Even if they’re fractal shields.
5. Kill the stupid clown car!
6. Get more rewards for the Pristine Relics, rings just don’t cut it no more. And 15 relics for a pristine one is a joke.
7. Kill the stupid clown car!
8. Make the Fall of Abbaddon fractal. Even if it has to have its own clown car.
Edited to add a few things.
Adding to my original post:
9. Fix the AR changes! As it has been quite well said before in this thread, fractals used to be about player skill and not as much about player gear. Now there’s just a gear check and then you’re off to the usual combat while ignoring agony. It’s a big “BRO, DO YOU EVEN RICH?” slap to the face, especially since there is quite a big inbalance between personal reward being accountwide, while AR is characterwide! Yay, I can now swap for a different class mid-fractal to help my party… but wait… not enough AR on that character… And it does not matter how skillful you are, so suck on that and go be more rich before coming back, punk! Not cool, ANet, not cool.
10. You really need to deal with the fact that you took something from the players and not given anything back. You cannot simply wipe away 20 PR levels worth of player progression, reroll everyone to PR30 and expect people to forgive and forget. That was a very low blow from you, ANet. While the (let’s call it) logic behind it is somewhat understandable, it’s not the players’ fault that you didn’t plan this in advance from the beginning. And you took from us 20-30+ hours of concentrated gameplay just like that. While I doubt that this deed will be unmade, some compensation would be kitten nice for all those lost levels and time, and for the odiousness of what you have done. Or is it your plan to keep rerolling players down every time you decide FOTM (or anything else, for that matter) needs to change?
11. Kill the stupid clown car!

Since I rather enjoyed the team being turned into Charr or Asura in certain fractals, lets take it up a notch – fractals where the team is turned into once race AND assigned a specific racial elite for the duration of the fractal – with the bosses of the fractal having specific vulnerabilities to that elite.
I would like to see a Sylvari fractal, where you help the firstborn.
I would like to see a Sylvari fractal where you ARE (one of) the firstborn. And you wander around clueless to anything and try to eat rocks and talk to birds.
Honestly everyone complaining about dredge makes me sad. It’s not that hard and I enjoy more difficult content. I would like more difficult fractal maps but since so many people complain I guess have them in the higher levels or a way to deprecate it because not everyone seems to be able to handle the harder content.
Dredge is by no means hard for a half-decent group, but the stupid clown car is a waste of time! There is NO challenge to it, you just sit there and press 1 to win. No challenge, no glory, just time consumed. Granted, the loot is decent, but I would rather skip those 5 minutes of boredom and move on.

I’m pretty sure you can obtain all 3 skins from the Trading Post (from other players), but they will not be cheap. I’m not at home now so can’t confirm, but make a quick Trading Post search for it and you may find it.
You also can’t sell if it’s soulbound.
You can sell soulbound items to vendors just fine, but the source of the item has an impact. Items obtained with karma cannot be sold to vendors, for example, nor can they be salvaged (boo to that!). If we are talking about loot drops, they can definitely be sold to vendor, soulbound or no.
I don’t think the tonic is the issue, but the spots it can be used in. I’m fairly sure the devs did not have in mind to put spots in WvW where your name tag would not be visible to CTRL or TAB…
I got the same, but it was red. Sadly, as with all releases, this one is buggy as hell in its first day…
Let’s hope they fix these issues, this release looks and feels pretty cool.
It’s funny how the BGs seem to think that fooling people a second time with this silly woe-is-us-we-are-weakest-oh-nooooooes strategy. Won’t work. They will be up and running again when Season 2 hits.
I’ve been having this same problem for a long while now and it still has not been fixed…
Take a look at how much crafting XP you get from refining bloodstone dust etc.
I hit 450 weeks ago and I’ve been using crafting simply to get rid of the dust and ore without having to throw it away or fill all my bank slots.
I’m still somewhere around 460. Despite also Ecto-refining up to the allowed limit every day. Every ‘craft’ barely moves the bar.A booster is only useful if you have a shedload of stuff to do – otherwise it’s just wasted.
Since I used this method myself, I daresay I know what I am talking about. To put things in perspective, I got armorsmith to 450 when patch hit and then crafted damask daily (For Great Proffit!) for about 2-3 weeks, until it stopped being proffitable. In addition I crafted a few Mithrillium. The biggest chunk of XP came when I decided to refine the ascended mats for future armors and weapons, and I made ~30 dragonite, ~50 empyreal and ~50 bloodstone. That’s when I used the crafting booster. I am now at 474 on Armorsmith.
My point is, this is a good way to advance your progression particularly if you plan on crafting ascended armor and/or weapons, since you will need a metric tone of ascended materials and, if you craft them all in one sitting, they improve your crafting by a decent amount. And it’s something that you will have to do, anyway, so might as well hit 2 skritt with the same stone.
I found that staying on the pin makes you stay alive longer simply because that’s where the heals, stability and AoE condition removals are dropped.
Besides, staying alive should not be your main concern in zerg fighting, there will always be casualties and random damage spikes. What matters a lot is making the zerg as easy to wield for the commander as possible, which means stacking on pin. Remember, this is a team effort and your personal victories matter less. Never fear death, go where you are needed. Of course, the commander needs to know what he is doing, or all is for naught; however, bad commanders usually have little following.
Zerg warfare is a very important part of WvW, at least for now. If this playstile is not to your liking, then just don’t do it; go roam or havoc or w/e floats your boat. But when in Rome…
After 450 you can make ascended mats and these will give you levels until you hit 475. It also helps a lot using a crafting booster.
There are some that troll the keep in EB by draining supply, building ballistas all over the place and especially on the supply pile so it’s harder to gather it fast. To my knowledge, there is no way to remove these people from the map, unfortunately, and they can get quite harmful.
It would be mighty nice of ANet if they addressed this issue.
Dungeons.
Message Body length must at least be 15.
one thing to note: when transferring soulbound to another character, you will ALWAYS lose the stats of the item. you can only transfer the item’s skin.
You do, but then you can use a Transmutation Splitter on the new char and recover the 2 original items but soulbound to the new char, not the old. Or have they changed this?
Claypool+Shaemoor ftw.
Mad King Thorn’s jokes every Halloween.
It’s a convenience area. A small instance with all possible services (crafting stations, merchants, BL representative, bank etc. etc.) that can only be accessed with the pass. It’s easier to use since all services are stacked in the same place.
Concerned about Captain's airship passes.

I can’t even remember the last time I crafted something in LA. I do all my crafting in the beautiful town of Claypool, less loading time by far.
Solo farm FoTM urban battleground. 3 min to kill Dulfy. Repeat until you can’t bear it anymore.
Is this even possible with the new FOTM setup?
Try WvW, it can be rather fun. Since SoS is tier 2, your experience should be quite dynamic and the place should have a good amount of people. Or you can move to Jade Quarry and help us hunt blackgates, that’s always fun! With Season 2 around the corner (hopefully), WvW will get really nice.
If you preffer strictly PvP, gather glory. For 1.500 glory and some silver you can buy a Tome of Knowledge, which gives your character 1 level.
You should also use the dragontimer thingie – jump from world boss to world boss. You will get nice XP and cool loot.
