I’ll play devils advocate for a sec, the supply at your spawn comes from eotm, so technically eotm is part of the mistwars, even if only a small part. Now, this may not seem like a huge deal, but if you’ve ever woken up to a fully upgraded enemy owned bl, it is a big deal.
Devs have stated EotM is not part of the Mistwar…..
A thought occurred to me … since I play both Edge of the Mists and The Mist War … does all of this only apply to The Mist War, or does it apply to Edge of the Mists also?
Skirmishes are only part of The Mist War and not part of EoTM. Because of that pips cannot be earned while in EoTM. However, vendors for both the backpack and skirmish rewards will be in EoTM in case of queues.

Guardian blocks can be traited to aply fire damage, to stack more fire when blocking guards can use Guardian runes as well.
This. And to trait for applying the conditions, the guardian sacrifices a lot in terms of being able to effectively fight a group. So, no, it’s not an exploit, it’s not op, it’s not hacking. It is, in the current wvw, a legitimate tactic with upsides and down.
Oh I get what’s going on here. You use one of these builds and don’t want it nerfed. No matter it still doesn’t change the fact im telling everyone to abuse it and im making a build just for this too.
Why should it be nerfed though, its a legitimate counter to ac’s. If you nerf it people will just move to the next most effective way to kill ac’s, should we nerf those to? Should we just make ac’s untargetable by anything that might kill them just so defending keeps is easier than it already is? Do you see how this may seem ridiculous to some?
How is this so hard to understand? Just make it where the acs cant be destroyed by passive traits. esp in seconds.
The trait only applies burning on block and damage from retailiation both of which need Active skills(Passive Coursge won’t kill anything at 1 block every 20sec) to get enough blocks to cause any serious damage to ACs, it’s not just passively applying it.

The fact of the matter is that the people who benefit from rewards basically automatically being retrofit to people’s accounts are in favor of the requirement. For the people who believe new rewards should not be based on past effort but instead future effort think the change is unreasonable. It’s people being selfish snowflakes
Not necessarily I have 323 rank and I am fine with the 2k rank requirement, it finally shows Anet giving the dedicated WvW players something to show off that can’t be ground out in a matter of days/weeks by players that only base rewards and never cared for WvW to begin with, see how they only follow the shinies?

As far as im aware only engies could take part in it right? So not everyone could do it. If you didnt have an engineer you lost out which is one of the major issues I had with it.
On top of that I dont have an issue with farming in general and turret farm was okish to me but I still dont think you should be able to consistently and intentionally be able to get loot while away from the PC screen. (exception is TP flipping i guess since its impossible to stop) Lots of people set down turrets, went away to do IRL stuff and came back once every 5-10 minutes. While it doesnt seem like much, its still 10minutes of AFK looting which shouldnt happen.

Any class with AI could do it and this. Ranger, Guardians, Mesmers, Necro, Ele etc….
Even if your class default does not come with AI you could do it via Racial skills.Lets not call this thing unique to engineer.
It’s a fundamental design flaw that needed to be addressed and ANet did so in a very poor manner to quickly address a flawed solution to the much bigger issue. They also only managed to shift the goal post here as now all you need to do to “farm” is stealth with thieves and loot the chest.
Mesmer is a huge stretch on your list since they have to constantly use skills to generate an clone that dies if the target dies…. they don’t persist in the slightest

Just break ties by counting who had done the most damage. If someone can it sustain you and out dps you it’s hardly trolling. And the tech is in place for damage counting already. Easy.
Take two mobility thieves, avoid the other team the entire match, then alpha someone in the last 3 seconds.

Not entirely sure. Normally I get a ring like once a week with 5-6 days rallied in wvw.
In these last 2 days ive had 6 rings drop and 1 armor chest..

And it also happened that our party of 5 people was standing at the settings station and nobody had the required personal fractal level to actually start the fractal that was stated in LFG.

If you can’t be bothered to spend 4.3 hrs to get a GoB, then you can pop into EOTM and just do the Big Spender achievement and never have to touch WvW, but no GoB should be stuck solely to WvW.

funny if u go into wvw, the wvwers complain of pve noobs getting in the way of their que. Before they complained about low wvw population. At one point they made eotm for pvers so they could get wvw rewards and not bother the wvw crowd. Now you complain that rewards should be exclusive to wvw and not eotm. we’ve come full circle.
WvW players complain about the PvE ago farmers clogging the queue, which there are quite a few I report every single one I see even though it won’t do anything since I game reports are completely ignored.
If players want WvW then they need to play WvW, not EOTM

So apparently Quick Pockets got extremely redundant 8 sec ICD today as a bug fix…. doesn’t it have a CD already you know with the 10 Second CD on Weaponswap? So why would the trait need a ICD? It couldn’t be due to Rune of the Warrior since that still doesn’t drop the Weapon CD down below 8 secs…..

Im a WoW fan, but you cant compare them. they are different in many ways. However I do agree that the progression to get the armor is absolutely absurd…..
I can get ascended armor much easier crafting, PvPing, or Fractals…..
Legendary armor even takes less time, so WvW rewards are pretty pointless imo.I was hoping this update would drive me to do it, but there really isnt a reason to.
It’s not for the tier of gear it’s for the skin…. and again comparing Legendary Armor Acquisition to Mistorforged armor is a big flaw, Raids take more skill than WvW to acquire Legendary armor on top of the time gate it has. It’s not hard to spam one in a Zerg ktraining around.

I want the new WvW backpack. I have barely no rank, I’m not in a WvW guild, and I haven’t looked up any guides/videos on what builds to run let alone how to play the content. It’s not fair that I have to spend all that time in WvW completing reward tracks and leveing up my rank. I don’t spend a lot of time online. Why can’t I just use all the badges of honor I have stocked up and buy it outright?? It’s not fair that the backpack isn’t catered to a WvW casual like me!!!

I wish it was comparable. It takes about 1 month to finish the collection for the armor, adn everything after that is gold and insights which can be gained slowly over time.
However the legendary backpeice for WvW is a massive grind thats gated on pure amount of time.
I know people with 3k hours in wvw that are barely even rank 1k. Not saying that having grind is wrong, but its way steeper than the req for legendary armor.
Legendary armor is a joke tbh. I have half a set and i just started getting full clears a few weeks ago.
Legendary Backpiece in WvW only requires 350 rank to make, it’s the tickets that are the grind. The T3 Mistforged armor is 2k rank.
The first part of the VG fight, up until after the first split phase has no mechanics different to those 3 mobs. I can say with a high decree of certainty that no group that can reach Vale Guardian, will ever fail to reach the split phase as well, which means the mechanics present up to that point require no tweaks at all, things like green circle damage, or seeker damage, it’s already an easy mode up to that point.
You’d be surprised. Yeah, the introductory guardians let the players learn the mechanics (in theory), but the consequences of failing those (and, let’s be honest, new players will be failing them for a long time before they learn) ale far less severe than in the actual boss fight. Apart from greens, all other mechanics are relatively easy to cope with. If there are no other mechanics to consider, that is. It’s the combination of those that is deadly.
So, teleports alone are not a problem. They become a problem if the person getting teleported is a tank, or one of the green circle runners. Seekers are easy to go around and avoid… but not of they are on your path toward greens, or are in greens. Situations that were simple with the introductory miniguardians suddenly require additional attention and methods to deal with. Experienced players will have no problem adjusting, but those new to raiding are most likely to get overwhelmed in the beginning.
Personally, i have yet to see any group consisting of players new to raiding that would be able to get through first phase on their first try without messing up something really badly.
Still, i’m nitpicking here. In general, you are right in the first phase being an easy mode and something any group (well, almost any) should be able to learn after reasonable number of tries. It’s the next phases that create a real problem.
But to answer your question: no, i don’t think that the individual split guardians need to be adjusted.

What does it matter in what way the content is limited? Your reasoning applies in any case. By your own words, watching the videos and reading about story should be enough, so noone should really be asking about reintroducing LS1, unless they were interested in rewards.
I just haven’t the faintest idea what rewards people that do ask for it might be interested in.
For seekers that why classes bring CCs such as knock backs and roots, blues can be side stepped or blocked or invulnerable or evaded through very simple stuff.

And if as you said they are stealing your reward… because your outnumbered buff goes away, then they wouldn’t be receding any reward either because outnumbered buff is gone.
Except it’s more like: “tick is about to end. Quickly hop around to all the maps to see if any are outnumbered so you can get an extra +5”

Bahahaha return a few seconds later? Most maps are Perma queued even early in the morning, doubt they were gone for a couple seconds I have yet to see queue drop below 25+ at any given time. Since the patch hit.

You know the new gear doesn’t add any stats over any other Ascended, unlike wow where it’s a constant treadmill where you have to constantly replace your gear every 6-mos to a year…. these are skins to reward dedicated WvW players that provide no advantages

Most WvW veterans are past rank 2K or close enough so I don’t mind the rank requirement at all, makes it more exclusive to dedicated WvW players the same way some skins are exclusive to achievement point farmers. Granted scouts and roamers might be lower rank as there wasn’t shared participation for a while but 2K is far from a very difficult goal.
Actually I wouldn’t mind even more skins with higher rank requirements. Some skins at lower ranks then more at 2k, 3k, etc all the way to 10K. There’s only a few that made it all the way to the top rank so could be nice if they got something too.
People should stop complaining about exclusive skins, the only consequence is cosmetic and it’s an acknowledgement that dedicated players deserve to get.
PS: Exclusive finishers based on rank would be nice too.

But I wanted to focus on the bolded sentence here. This is what I don’t agree with. People keep assuming these rewards are meant solely for WvW veterans. Where on earth did you get that idea from though? Why do only the “veterans” deserve access to these skins? Because that does not hold true for PvE or PvP rewards. Anyone can earn The Ascension, and its quite trivial at this point honestly. Anyone can earn the PvP ascended skins. Anyone can craft PvE ascended skins. Anyone can craft their Leg Armor with a minimum timegate of 12 weeks. These rewards, while meant to take effort, are not held back and only given to the “veterans” of those game modes. They aren’t reserved just for people who only play that respective game mode and don’t venture into the other 2. So why on earth are people so willing to accept that for WvW rewards? It doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t fit with the reward structure for the entire rest of the game. It just doesn’t.
I get that the people who have been playing WvW since launch are salty about not having WvW rewards yet. But that doesn’t mean they need to be kept just to those players. That attitude goes against the entire rest of the game and how it handles exclusive rewards. Its simply not ok. This type of model for obtaining rewards does not fit in GW2.
Anyone can work up to rank 2000 and unlock the skins, it’s not like it takes any real skill or effort, just ktrain with zergs like player in PvE do all the time spamming 1 with the loot stick.
Anyone can get the skins, there is nothing stopping players from doing so.
You get Skirmish Chests from your pips…. just like the Pvp pips.. look under the WvW screen in game you will see it at the bottom of the matchup tab
There is 1 ability for 1 class I did forget to mention that I will never say is not broken and definitely needs to be fixed in pvp and that is the mesmers moa morph, I have never played a game, where another class can morph you into some useless creature, and you still take full damage from it.

Still spouting wrong info… Polymorph in WoW transforms a player and they regen health extremely fast and any damage they take from any source ends the polymorphist’s….. which is actually balanced compared to Moa.

This has been addressed in the past and once again Anet won’t do the ground work needed to strengthen the foundation before building on top of it.
In WvW the reward tracks work based on participation and not immediate action like in PvP. In PvP you get points for every action that you completed while in WvW you merely get your participation up to its max and then wait on the timer to dish out your points. This means those people ran in a zerg to get their max participation then ported back to the spawn in order to reap out the rewards and whenver it starts to dip back down they kill a mob or join the zerg again for a second to set it back up.
WvW has been set up in a way to reward AFK play for ages now
Pvp doesn’t reward active input….. you get rewards for afking as well…
Why? What would the point be when Raids aren’t that hard to do currently? Or this about wanting rewards of Raids without putting in the time and effort? What would easy mode provide the game that doesn’t already exist? And you have to remember Raids were and are designed for a specific target audience who asked for Anet to provide them with content tailored to their needs of challenging group content that takes coordination.

Myself I am a ‘on and off’ casual player, so more a single player sort of say.
I play for few months and after that not for few months.. this goes on since launch..These raids are to kitten hard for casual payers like myself, I’m not steady active enough to stay in a guild which could clear the raid. And in Pick up groups i get kicked out because i don’t know the tactics of bosses….. Sigh
This is very frustrating, not so much for not seeing the raid but more for never going to complete the farm for legendary armor pieces.The least A’net could do is make it an Very Hard single player experience for the casual players also. Just like that one boss in the Queens Gauntlet (Liadri the Concealing Dark).

Before last week I had never raided, I Was in a group with 9 other people only one person had ever cleared Vg once we beat VG in 5 attempts which equated to about 45 mins of time, raids aren’t that difficult, especially if you use the resources Raiders provide to help casuals get into raiding to make it easier for them.

As for the entitlement rant, its one of the most harsh truths about the newer generation of players and very much connected to why they feel raids are not accessible.

Raiders like Raids hence why there are Raids, majority of Raiders are veteran mmorpg players, but there are certain veterans * cough * cough * that want the rewards of Raids but with out putting in the full effort.

You randomly get the potions from rank up chests……. they auto consume
