Just to let you know. Due to the dynamics of this market, chances are higher that you’ll lose money if you attempt to manipulate it.
I would quote John, but I’d rather he pop in and say something witty instead.

John has access to the data on all my accounts, and would perma ban them all if I attempted to manipulate the Trading Post. Hopefully that helps you guys rest easy that I’m not one of those evil/imaginary item cartels that control the TP..
While I enjoy the interesting music that has come out of some of those instrument macros, I think legalizing macros for music has opened a very serious can of worms.
Scepter Elementalists using element cycle macros to burn through their rotation and proc like 7 lightning strikes in a row and macro thieves are starting to become mainstream.
I can’t play a 1hour session in SPVP without running into at least one of these (which is so obvious to see once you instant explode from an ele and look through your combat log to see nothing but a long stream of lighting strikes chained together in .5 seconds – done way faster than the human hand can press).
I report all of them I can, but it’s not enough. I think its banhammer time. Unleash the Dhuum.
The pro Eles in SPvP just learned to play. You shouldn’t report someone just because they played better than you.
Some people mine them, but others buy them from the TP because they don’t wanna waste time hunting for nodes. Speaking from the mind of a flipper, it would be very profitable if Platinum spiked to the same prices as Linen. But that’s just a passing fantasy.
There seems to be an endless amount of “players” posting complaints about receiving “scam mail”. It can’t be that each and everyone one of them don’t see the disclaimer at the bottom of the message that it wasn’t an Anet employee sending it. Some of us are speculating that either the hackers are trying to promote their scam website via these screen caps, or forum trolls are using alt accounts to post to irritate the community.
My question is can we get in trouble for reporting these threads, even if we have no proof that they’re the same few players reposting screen caps? I believe it was Mark who mentioned that false reporting can lead to action on the reporter.
So i have just logged back in after a few months off and noticed I got a birthday present thing in my mail. I open it with my main toon a 29 engineer and notice the experience scroll. Now i cant use it on this guy because it boosts a toon to 20 and only under lvl 20s can use it. It said it was Account bound so i went about trying to mail it to a lower level toon on my account but it will not let me. I am confused i understand soul bout things shouldnt be able to be traded between toons but if an item is account bound can i not send it to another character on my account? If i can not than this item is compleatly useless to me.
Let us know what starting area you are in, and we can direct you to the nearest bank.
Heck, we could even have a Braham and Taimi storyline too, seeing how much they care for each other. The sky’s the limit!
What do you guys think? Does the upcoming Chapel sound like a great idea or what???
Uh… I think we’ll have a legal problem here.
And a pretty massive logistics problem
There shouldn’t be any legal or logistical problems. The Chapel is being built offsite, and airlifted to the island.
Because you are a well known trading post troll?
People only think I’m a troll because I’m able to win economy debates with the truth and facts. If being a White Knight means to love the game and defend mechanics from people who make up conspiracy theories, then I’m I’m proud to be the whitest knight.
As for this thread, I’m simply reminding people about this locked Material found in your Storage Bank. If people stock up on Silver, Gold, and Platinum now, they can craft their goods for much cheaper than when prices skyrocket. Look at how Linen prices remained high with the introduction of Damask.
By Dwayna’s brassieres, why do people think I’m some type of market fatcat trying to make a quick buck. I have nowhere near the 3,000+ Precursors that the richest player has.
PS – I don’t pump and dump. I’m too busy playing T1 WvW.
I wouldn’t use it but given how Arenanet doesn’t seem to care about RP players I don’t think they would care to do something like this.
You do realize that some Devs RP, right? And why would Anet design all these buildings in Divinity’s Reach to have rooms with working doors and talking NPCs if RPing wasn’t on their mind? They could have just made solid buildings to play off of the environment, but instead took the time to give a LOT of details to the inside of buildings.
How much silver, gold and platinum did you just list?
I promise you that I have none listed. This post is simply reminding my forum friends of an investment opportunity, that’s all. So don’t be afraid to log in and visit your local Black Lion Trading Post representative today!
Knowing Kiel would resort to underhanded method to win the election, Evon knew that he’d need a large campaign warchest. Stealing Gold from the Aetherblade pirates helps to deprive Scarlet’s minions from funds needed to maintain their large fleet of airships. Being the smart charr that he is, Evon killed two birds with one stone. He dealt a financial blow to the enemy, while helping his cause when running for Captain’s Council.
Just a heads up regarding future crafting. Soon we’ll be able to get access to the locked material, Xunlai Electrum Ingots. It’s still unknown how these will be used, but current thoughts are that they’re connected to Ascended Jeweler or Precursor crafting. Whatever the case may be, it’s a good time to start investing in Silver, Gold, and Platinum. My recommendation is to buy as much as you can comfortably afford.

Disclaimer – Anet can change crafting requirements before the release of the Xunlai Electrum Ingots.

Wow. You’re the destroyer of hopes. Hope the OP can find another name now.
I-im so sorry..i didnt mean to, honest!!!
I forgive you, but will OP?
We could ask Anet to name the center of Lion’s Arch “Evon’s Circle”.

The answer to that would then to not offer any type of advantage in game. Having a unique title and the recognition of being married to someone would do nicely in and of itself.
If you want your goods back, you can always visit a Black Lion representative in any major city, and collect it from the tab in the lower left of your screen.
Evon runs a reliable business. He only asks for 15% of the proceeds as payment for using the Trading Post.

The fact that the text filter changed your name to “kitten” is a sign that isn’t not an acceptable name. There’s no sense in submitting a ticket, because it’ll just be rejected.
To address one point in PA’s posts, nightcapping timezones will be very interesting with the automatic upgrades. Servers with really small OCX/SEA populations will find it extremely difficult to cap a T3 Tower if they only have enough supply to build a regular Ram or Cata. It’s not like you can reliably run more supply from camps, because that would mean you’d have to leave built siege undefended. Veterans will have more patience dealing with his, but Casuals will probably just ignore capping Towers all together. Killing Sentries don’t provide the PPT necessary to say competitive.

So in a game where I can commit animal cruelty for achievement points this is unacceptable? It wasn’t against the ToS when I created the account, ToS at the time pretty much only covered genuinely hateful names such as ethic-cleansing, racial slurs .Besides anyone can get offended over anything, someone somewhere is going to get offended. I’m pretty sure theres a number of homophobes(lot of those here in North America) out there that completely lost it when the main story featured a lesbian romance.
But hey these things do change, so I’ll made it squeaky clean if they give me the chance.
Kinda reaching there mate. ToS gives Anet complete authority to determine what’s acceptable or not. By playing the game, we give Anet the right to take away Gems we purchased if they want. We are at their mercy, because it’s their game, their rules. You can still have fun without trying to push any envelopes.
Now as for a lesbian romance, do note that in America, homosexual relationships are becoming more acceptable by the majority.
So since no one will have stacks, don’t this just keep everything even anyways, I guess the only winners are though players who are not level 500+ in wvw, right?
Well, it’s a combination of things that make this a problem, not just losing the stacks alone. Without more incentives for Vets to keep playing WvW, Casuals won’t stay. A few random pugs running together will see the enemy zerg, and just run away. No capping of Towers or Keeps, just Sentries and Camps. Even roaming with a good havoc team with 10 players isn’t fun when you have 60+ people chase you around the map.
Edit – One more thing. It would be nice for the WvW Devs to visit the forums more often to add comments or thoughts to these discussion threads. It’ll make us feel like someone cares, even though we know they read most posts. The seeing a Red Post gives a visual acknowledgement of this fact. We do appreciate the Red Posts on serious bugs and status updates of said bugs.

With SPvP, players not only have the competition to reward them with good and exciting fights, but they also get unique rewards like the mini llama track. They have tournaments all the time. They have multiple maps to play on. WvW Veterans with maxed out stats only have competition (when available). And one new map coming. That’s it. Each rank up chest gives something small, but unless it’s an exotic drop, it’s not much to cheer about.
I’m on both TC and Maguuma. With my time zone (end of NA and beginning of OCX), there’s more action on TC, so I main there. When I switch to play on Maguuma, the BLs and EBG are empty. All the commanders who played in this time zone have left, so Casual players have no carrot to WvW. Then it gets boring for other servers, since they steamroll our empty Towers and Keeps, and have nothing else to do. So while attracting Casuals with ability buffs is one thing, without leaders to lead, they won’t stick around long enough to contribute.
Farming with 2 accounts is a red flag? Enough with people who have ZERO knowledge typing. Please learn what is allowed and what is not allowed then type things like this. It is like calling an innocent person a thief at this point. I sometimes wish this kind of misinformation spreading was bannable too.
I am very well known on EU silverwastes so no my story has no holes and have hundreds of people that can confirm it all. Please do NOT talk if you do NOT have knowledge.
Farming with 2 accounts simultaneously is bannable if you use a program to control your alt. I’m were aware of what’s allowed and what’s not, so let’s not try to distract from this. GM Chris banned a botter and all his other accounts for doing similar. You can multibox to have multiple accounts online at the same time, but you need to manually play one account at a time. That means alt-tabbing and moving each character individually. Doing this for hours and hours on end, and making more than 500 Gold on each account each week leaves me skeptical. That’s the red flag. And remember, I said that if you’re legit, then fine.
Not sure being married would count as an advantage. It’s just additional fluff for players to enjoy. Just like how with mounts, they’d just be for looks (i.e. riding broom). Having a unique title like “Married to Taimi” or “Married to Penguin” offers some meaningful connection to the game. Not all players play GW2 to kill dragons. Some live out day to day lives, making their own stories to complement game lore.
Class specific traits would make for some interesting mechanics.
As for defense changes, I agree that defenders could use more love. However, increasing defense of towers is a slippery slope. If your zerg happens to attack a T3 tower with a proper defense waiting inside, it’s a lot harder to cap already. Gate pushes can be deadly with properly placed ACs on the inside. Cow drains on gates hurt as well. If the zerg decides to drop catas to take down walls, counter catas/trebs/motors can take them out.
I believe thats not the problem. The problem is that there arent any good mechanics in WvW for gameplay. EoTM, although a radical example, exposes this flawed WvW design.
I say fix that, along with the Reward system and this mode will become more fun.
Could you expand on this? What would make for good mechanics?
But it doesnt really add anything to the game either. So whats the point?
To each his own. Some players don’t do FotM. Some players don’t SPvP. And some players don’t RP. But that doesn’t mean all players don’t do these things. So you’re wrong on that point. It does add something to the game that everyone can use. It would be up to the player to decide to use it or not.
Not new…. please read stickies.

Anet. Look here, I’m one of the so called White Knights of these forums. I’ve been supportive of many things that have happened in game, from RNG mechanics to rewards. But today is different. The blog post about WvW changes made me do a double take.
Location upgrades
I’ll briefly address this. I like this idea a lot. It prevents spies and trolls from slowing down and preventing much needed upgrades to Towers and Keeps. No more shouting at pugs for stealing the last bit of Supply when a WP is at 99.9% complete. And it gives more emphasis on defending Yaks as then stroll from the camps, and they speed up the guaranteed upgrade progress. Good job on this change.
Player skill changes
In an attempt to make WvW more friendly for Casual gamers, it feels Anet completely forgot about the Veterans. One of the incentives for ranking to high levels was to be able to max out our WvW abilities. By reducing the require amounts of rank to get good traits, Anet took away one of the carrots that made me want to gain as much WXP as possible. Sure I love the competition, and capping a Keep after a 4 hour battle. But playing the same maps over and over, year in and year out, Veterans tend to need whatever carrots you can give them to keep playing.
It’s no secret that WvW lost a lot of good players due to stagnation. Some commanders resort to running raids in EotM just to change things up for their servers. Casual players won’t understand how Veteran feel after playing a map for the last 6 to 10 hours to keep PPT up. Vets need something more in this game mode. A new BL in HoT is a start, but Anet should offer more incentives to reach rank milestones. Perhaps they can offer something for players for each 1,000 rank they get. Free Precusors at Rank 2,000? Gems bonus like Achievement Point milestones. A personal message from Colin? Something. Anything. Because Veteran commanders who lead servers are few, and when a well known and respected raid leader takes a break, servers tend to become headless chickens without anyone else popping a tag. It’s a snowball effect, because enemies who like to combat good opponents can get bored if no one puts up a good fight. Then they leave or take breaks, and the cycle continues.
In closing, it’s my opinion that Veteran WvW players need more than just server loyalty to keep this game mode alive for the next several years. Making Casuals feel welcome is all good. The more players in WvW, the better! But please Anet. Think about Veterans too. Consider our feelings and needs. Give us some sense of progress once we max out all our abilities. Give us a reason to have high ranks besides titles like Gold Invader. Give us a reason to play WvW a lot more than to just meet the daily achievements.
“worked hard to earn our wvw traits”
lol, ktraining so hard
Yet not everyone ktrains or wants to. Oh some do, others did it only to get ranks, but still leaves a lot that don’t like ktraining, and feel all these changes will only really benefit that.
Actively playing your BL or EBG will get you enough WXP to get you over rank 1,000 by now. No Karma Training in EotM necessary.
Anet balanced WvW for casual players. Ok, that’s fine. Letting them feel welcome is ok. But what about us veterans? We worked hard to max out our WvW traits. They should add new things for us to specialize in with our extra points. Something to say that “you played a long time, here’s something to make it worthwhile”.
I’m really interested in the reasons why the wedding defectors are so against this idea. There seems to be ulterior motives, since a wedding mechanic wouldn’t affect people who don’t want to use it.
One more thing, the Gold transfer limit also helps protect Guild Banks, since hackers cannot take more than 500 Gold out of the account. So if you have more than that in your Guild Bank, at least you’ll have something left after a hacking. Anet does not restore Guild Banks, so this is just one good side effect of this limit.
Evon is a businessman, not a hero. If he wants a monument to himself, he has the gold to make one.
My friend, allow me to provide some information on our beloved Evon. He is both a business man, and a hero. Evon Gnashblade is the current Legionnaire of the Gnash warband, and owner of the Black Lion Trading Company. Years ago, he saved Lion’s Arch citizens from harm when he killed the former Legionnaire, Aria Gnashfang. This selfless act allowed the Ash legion to establish a foothold within the city, and allowed Evon to provide many wonderful goods through his store.
Without Evon’s company, we wouldn’t have access to so many wonderful Outfits for our characters to enjoy. Let’s not forget the Black Lion keys that allow us the opportunity to get tickets to exchange for unique weapons.
Not sure what to think about the past few hours of posts here. tyu, you admit that you only get about 10 Gold per week in donations, so that’s a non-issue. Your main gripe is the ability to transfer Gold between accounts. Then you bring up you farm with 2 accounts, which is a red flag in and of itself. In order to lead a proper SW Chest run, you realistically cannot manually control more than one account at a time without botting the second account. Alt-tabbing and running every few feet slows down the run. So forgive me when I say that your story has holes in it. GM Chris is able to look into your account history, so I have faith in him to catch botters. If you’re legit, then fine. But as of now, I feel that there’s really no further need to complain, as this Gold transfer limit is pretty much set.
Say that when you lose a tower or two and all your siege because of it…
We just did.
You can just take the tower back, and get WvW XP and Karma. That’s how Karma Trains work in EotM.
Who in the heck was talking about EoTM?
I was. Letting an enemy take a tower so you can take it back is a tactic of Karma Trains. So even if you lost an EBG Tower, look on the bright side of things. That’s just one more place to capture.
I’d pay Gems for Colin to come in and personally officiate an RP wedding.
If there’s no record of that in game, there’s no way Anet Customer Support could grant it to you. Anyone is able to use chat codes to show in map chat. You should have taken a screenshot of your inventory, with your cursor hovering over the item. But still, not sure how Anet will respond to missing loot.
On the topic side I do hope the chapel is purely cosmetic, it would be an interesting site to RP…….bbetter yet make it an instance area, we woudn’t dozens of people fighting for the place
That’s an excellent idea, eduardo mi amigo. An instanced spot where we can have private RP ceremonies, without map chat trolls interfering.
Evon Gnashblade’s name is synonymous with the Black Lion Trading Company. That’s a given. However, a hero deserves to have his name tied in lore to a location of the port city he saved. Even something a simple as “The Gnashblade Bazaar” POI.
JCan you imagine you and your soulmate, surrounded by 100 of your guildies cheering you on as you tie the knot?
This option already exists.
Not officially in game.
The little Asuran progeny who used to play behind the bank before she died in the attack looks down from the Asuran heaven and says, “There is nothing a Charr likes better than a good fight. There is nothing Evon likes better than a good flight.”
Would you rather have the asura live, and lose the war? Of course not. The sacrifice of one asura is acceptable if it means peace in the long run. I’m sure the great hero that Evon is privately tips his hat to the fallen. But leaders must be strong, and not show weakness to the people who love him. We feed off of the strength that naturally oozes out of Evon’s pores. It gives us hope for a better future.
Yeeee, it has to be ready before it goes out. It’s ready, just building. So it’s getting ready.
If there was an easy button I’d be pushing it nonstop… but then it would be a broken easy button. That would be bad.
Here. I’ll buy you one. I’ll even buy you more if you break any.
When is about the fix for the Stealth Bug?
ThanksA little delayed but getting there.
I’m going to switch your coffee for decaf if you can’t fix this ASAP. That’s a fate worse than death at 7am tomorrow…
Did you actually participate in the LS event? During the attack Gnashblade insisted on getting his merchandise-laden dolyaks evacuated before citizens, and used up the last moments of functionality of LAs last portal to save his merchandise, leaving people behind to die who otherwise would have been saved. He not only isn’t a hero, he is as responsible for the deaths of innocents as any Aetherblade, Molten or Toxic alliance member, and in a fair and just world he would be on trial alongside them. But much like the real world, monetary power acts as a buffer against responsibility.
He was saving the equipment. That was part of the job, to equip the soldiers fighting against Scarlet. If he let all his goods get destroyed, then the battle would be over, and the game would end. But his heroic actions allowed us to continue buying goods from him, which allowed us to fight the good fight. He even shared hour long buffs if a player purchased it.
So the choice was to save the equipment and fight another day, or let the citizens escape and lose the war. Sometimes, a hero needs to make touch choices. I wouldn’t want to be in Evon’s shoes, because I’m not strong enough to make that choice. This is why people look up to him. He does what others can’t.
He didn’t know that equipment was going to be used to fight Scarlet until days after LA was evacuated, and was literally forced on pain of death to give it up to be used for the fight.
He was saving it, so he could make money off of it, no matter the costs, in lives, to anyone else, and for no other reason. That it was involuntarily taken from him and used for good, is if anything another mar on his already blackened character.
He was being a heartless moneygrubbing murderer according to logic, by his own account, and by that of all present witnesses. There is no room for debate on this subject whatsoever, he is not a hero, he is a criminal and a villain, and hopefully some survivor of the attack can someday prove him so, so that he can suffer the justice he deserves.
A true hero can analyze the situation, and stay many steps ahead of the enemy. Evon knew his goods were needed. He knew Kiel would force him to provide for the troops. Basically, Evon accepted the Quartermaster job before Kiel thrust it upon him.
We look up to leaders like this. Like a Grandmaster Chess player in war, Evon has a sixth sense to these things.
Running away is not a sign of cowardliness. When a hero runs, it’s a strategic retreat. If you know that fighting and dying would cost your side the war, then staying to die would be a useless death. So by escaping with the badly needed equipment we needed to fight against Scarelet, Evon made the smart choice.
Charr are experts at war. They know how to fight and win. The importance of living was weighed more for the long term, than staying back and killing a few minions. Evon’s a smart charr, and knows what he’s doing.
Could we also set it up so that my in game wife gives birth to my new character slot? Pretty please!
That wouldn’t work. You can’t give birth to something existing. Rather, you’d be talking about giving birth to a whole new account. But that option would cost Gems.
