Telegraphs are already clear. This sound like a personal problem, not a design problem.
Except they aren’t clear, thanks for posting though.
They are clear as in you can see them as well as hear them. They aren’t clear as to where exactly you can stand in order to be safe (but you still see the tell).
If they weren’t clear, as you say, then why have there been players who beat her constantly? Are you calling that “luck”?

If it’s something that you enjoy though, then do it. It’s a game after all. Have fun
This is why I harvest. I quite enjoy exploring the world and gathering everything myself.
Even more reason for Anet to add a feature that allows your characters to get dirty and sweaty when using harvesting tools. It would add a tiny bit of realism to the game!
This actually makes a lot of sense. People who redeemed their tokens to get a weapon in the past already knew it couldn’t be traded. The whole intention of the redemption was to have a weapon they could use, not sell. It wouldn’t be fair for them to get a weapon was bound, and then to unbind it for sale with the update.
That has me curious, Penguin. I do usually walk away with 2 cores, but I’m rarely seeing any lodestones even out of the 20-25ish champ loot bags per invasion.
Any further details you can share?
Sure. I get both Lodestones and cores. If I add in the cores, I get maybe 3+ Lodestones per invasion run.
Just pointing out that instead of creating a brand new thread, there are existing threads about the problems you posted about. That’s how the forums end up getting cluttered with so many duplicate threads.
A mod should merge all these “nerf Liadri” threads.
Side note – if you want to talk about playing with a disability, I believe the mods merged a thread for that too.

That’s great, especially hard is great. That doesn’t change the fact that ambiguous one shot mechanics are terrible by design.
To each his own. I love challenges, therefore the one shot is a great design.
Can people please stop making Liadri QQ threads?
Have you ever stopped to notice how many people ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Liadri fight. It is my favorite thing in the game so far.
If you like Deadeye, do Deadeye. I like Liadri the way it is, so please leave it be.
You’re not understanding what I’m saying.
I actually do like the design of the fight, I’m not bashing that. I’m bashing the UNCLEAR one shot mechanics.
I don’t want the fight changed at all, except for the aoe to be more clear, if the arena floor was one solid color for example it’d be WAY easier to see the telegraph.
The challenge of the fight shouldn’t be whether you can see aoe’s or not, it should be with the complexity of the fight.
What’s not clear about it? You have an audio and visual tell before the sky falls on you. If I remember correctly, it hits you on the 3rd second, so count 1-one thousand, 2-one thousand, then dodge.
“if the arena floor was one solid color for example it’d be WAY easier to see the telegraph” - This is why I believe it was planned this way. It adds to the challenge. You can still see the red outlines of the circles. If you think you’re not in a safe zone, dodge out of the way.
I don’t remember hearing ANY audio tells from it, if so then the sound was just buggy.
And having UNCLEAR one shot mechanics is the worst way to design a fight, that is just ridiculous. If that is truly intentional then I have no hope for future fights. There are many ways to make it more difficult than making it hard to see, and I thought that’s what the point of the visual “blur” was for (ironically that “blur” made it easier to see the aoe’s).
For example, if the aoe’s were very clear, then they could make it harder by increasing the rate they happen, increasing their size, or make them rotate around the room in a pattern, spawn even more “clones”, get creative with it, that’s where the fun of it is. Making it “unclear” on purpose is really stupid.
A good comparison is the ice fractal final boss that has the same array of aoe’s all over the ground, atleast there it’s a clear telegraph.
Imagine if a pinball game would just randomly fog the screen so you can’t see where the ball is going and you just had to “guess”, sure that’d make it way more difficult but the player has no control over what’s going to happen and it’s just completely frustrating and random, as opposed to a multitude of other clear/complex mechanics that could make it more difficult.
You forget that Anet made this fight to be especially hard. So hard that only a handful of the population and even Anet game testers could complete. It’s not a “bad” design. It’s a “challenging” design. A better term for this would be “Elite Content”, slightly ahead of “Hard Mode”.
I want to do Thirst slayer achievement but as I count I need to click 300,000 times to do it (1 to buy and 2 to drink * 100,000 times). Ive got a special button on my mouse. If I hold it, it makes about 20 clicks per second. Am I allowed to use that? I really want to do that achi but I’m afraid of ban or sth.
You may not use any program or mechanical device that allows you to click more than once. It’s one key = one action.
Yup! Happened to my boyfriend last night in Blazeridge on Devona’s Rest. I’ve got some competition, looks like. -sharpens blades-
Where can I find a good girl to play GW2 with!?!!?!?!
It’s a trick. There are no girls who play on GW2. The internets always lie.

I think OP wants a way to get lodestones with 0 effort.
“Zero effort” as in doing something as mindless as exploiting an event in Orr by spamming auto-attack on a staff guardian? Or does anyone actually believe that kind of behavior requires skill?
I’ll quote the relevant part of my post again, for those who just skimmed without reading:
I wish ArenaNet would introduce a reliable way to get the Lodestones, even if it’s a very slow one. Receiving one in exchange for 10 laurels? Receiving one (per week per account) after doing one of the Orr Temple events? Even if slow (even the most expensive of them goes at most for 2.5 gold, and people who want to can make far more than that in 10 days or in a week), at least it would be reliable, and wouldn’t require using the TP.
Seems you missed my post, so I’ll help you out by going into more specifics:
Lodestones are easy to acquire now. My personal rate of return is about 2 per invasion map, or roughly 45 minutes of play. While they are still rare, they’re so much easier to get. The fact that you don’t want to put effort into getting them is akin to asking for Anet to just mail you a stack.
I hope they let Hobo-Tron join the team!
Silly. He’s the leader of course.
In the future, there will be new Legendary equipment. I look forward to a possible Legendary Box with 50 slots.
That’s a pretty decent bonus for new players. So did you buy it and merge the code with your account, or make a completely new account Venirto?
Quick question:
I just logged into forums and at this is what welcomed me:
Hi everybody,
Today we made adjustments to karma where the amount of karma granted from consumable karma items was increased and karma boosts no longer affected the amount of karma gained from consumable items.
We intended to message this change ahead of time to be fair to everyone, however this did not happen, and we apologize for not giving you advance notice.
The lack of advance warning resulted in some people losing out on karma that they would have otherwise gained by using boosts with the karma they’d saved up.
We will be temporarily rolling back the karma change in a hotfix to allow people the opportunity to turn in their karma with any buffs they intended to use. This temporary rollback will be in effect until the game update on September 3.
Please note, while this temporary rollback is in effect: the in-game text for the karma consumabkitten oster found on the Gem Store will incorrectly state that it does not affect karma gained from consumable items.
We will also be reimbursing the people who used their karma during the period when the initial change was in effect with as close to the correct amount of karma as possible.
We’re really sorry about the frustration this caused and we will make every effort in the future to make you aware of changes like this ahead of time. Now… Am I the only one, who after the nerf… consumed all their karma jugs in anger, and now it seems that I shouldn’t have, because if I waited one day I would have gotten the boost.
Now this is outrageous. The answers were kind and I appreciate it. First fault was not announcing things ahead of time and they did not announce the solution in time….
This way, I used up all my karma without the boosts and completely got the worst possible outcome of this nerf AND the hotfix.
People need to learn to read announcements beyond the first paragraph. The complaint in this post was resolved before it was even posted…
Wait wait wait wait wait. You can FIGHT in this new tonic’s form? Not costume brawl, but actual fight? Unique skills as well, or your own weapon skill sets?
I loved Scarlet’s Playhouse !! It was so much fun, I had a great time doing it <3
After the disaster that was Liadri, and the horrible achievements that go with her, this was absolutely awesome ^3^
The end fight with Scarlet wasn’t too easy and it wasn’t too hard. It was perfect!!
It’s how Liadri should have been. It’s how she should be, when the gauntlet comes back.
Thank yooouu (=^_^=)/
No. Liadri is/was perfect. Just because you can’t do something, doesn’t mean Anet should be making easy mode for all content. Please let us have our challenging content, and you can have Scarlet. Then everyone is happy!
100% agree… The only way ANET can cater to our likes, is to have a variety of content. You are happy with Scarlet, and we are happy with Liadri. Leave it at that. No nerfing required. More Liadri and more Scarlet contents in the future pls. TY for Liadri ANET!
Anet is a good game company, as it has released content that makes all types of players, of all different skill levels happy.

If you opened your computer to be remotely accessed, that’s just like having a stranger play on your computer in your living room. So it makes sense that Anet cannot assist you, as it’s impossible to determine if the account was truly being played by you, or a hacker.
So obviously Hobo-tron is the villain.
You take that back, man…
I was getting 9,090 Karma per jug. How much did you get?
NCSoft is a publicly traded company and releases financial info for itself and the companies it owns, including Arenanet. There have been many discussions about how profitable Guildwars 2 has been.
Um. NCSoft is the game’s publisher. Anet is a privately owned company mate (Arenanet LLC), and NCSoft’s development studio. Unless they bought them out, in which case I can’t find any public documentation showing ownership. Nevermind, I finally found that documents that show the acquisition of Anet in 2002. My bad.
As for BL Keys, next time, everyone should spread the word, and vote Evon for all elections he participates in!

This is getting odd, a few people ingame reported getting a 72 hour ban.
Myself included got one yesterday kicked on the final wave, and another forum poster here says he got one too (at the exact time i did)
I’m wondering if there is a glitch going on. I already contacted support but still nothing.
I had to change my characters name and my character is now considered innapropriate if you try picking the name i had, which is bizaare.
OR… perhaps you guys all have inappropriate names? Won’t know for sure unless you shared it with us.
help me., someone scam my volcanus T-T

Sorry. Anet doesn’t undo player mistakes. You made the choice to not use the Trading Post, and this is the consequence.
Next time you have a Volcanus to trade, sell it on the TP.
…
In order to continue, it’s been said that Anet has no problem with Spidy accessing the data and sharing it. Spidy in turn releases an API that grants access to Spidy’s data. Someone comes up with a program and uses the data from Spidy to give alerts.
So where is the problem here?
Again not quite true… but I’ll get to that shortly…
- ANet has no official policy in regards of scraping the TP data, kitten far no action has been taken and they “unofficially” most likely have their blessing.
- Alerts based of Spidys data (or others) are not in violation of the current TOS (Spidy is however if one reads the TOS in its formal def.)
What should be noted is this;
- Notifiers usually dont operate on Spidys data since they need access to character/account information.
- Notifiers datamines GW2 session information and are thus in violation of the TOS just as Spidy is but even more so since actual character information is accessed (buy/sell listings).
I Dont have anything against notifiers!
I am however a stickler for details and dont like misinformation being spread just by assumption. Better to have all the details, things arent usually as clear cut as people want them to be.
Since I don’t have any notifiers, I don’t know what programs they work off of. I’m basing my argument on the example of Spidy’s API.
To clarify, a notifier that reads game session data is bad, but one that read’s Spidy’s data is ok?
Lodestones are starting to become more common. That means more people with the same Legendary running around. Sad penguin is sad.
What lies? And as the thread progressed, as is the case with most discussions, new views and ideas came out. I started by stating that getting text for the tp from an outside program is wrong. Another person stated that they could be used by bots, I agree and it strengthens my case that these programs should not be allowed.
Since you’re so adamant about continuing this discussion, let me ask you something. Since the Trading Post is website based, how do you ban programs that basically reads information from a website (i.e. crawler)? Mind you that these types of programs are not accessing the game client itself. Going further, how would you ban a program that gets its information from another program such as Spidy? Spidy is just reading the information from a website, and the other program is just reading Spidy.
Not quite true, in order for anyone to read accurate TP data a character key is needed, this key is datamined from the connection between game client and TP server. You also have an authentication mechanism involving the associated account.
So none of the information on spidy etc is “publicly” available and the means to access this data breaks the TOS which is why they (spidy et al) contacted ANet before continuing with their projects.

Just because you can get away with an inappropriate name in other games, doesn’t mean you can get away with it here.
On a side note – slang references are just as valid as Webster’s dictionary. I suggest you change your name to something that won’t get you a 168 hour (1 week) ban, which would most likely be the next step.
I don’t really like living story content, not saying it’s bad I just don’t like, what I like to do is dungeons, now, anet said that they don’t want to be like wow, where every month new gear comes up and you have to work for it, however, anet is, be it intentionally or unintentionally, doing the same mistake, people who do living story content get tons of AP and a chance at a new weapon and skins, AP rewards also give weapons and armor, the amount of ap you get from finishing 2 living story achievement (like southsun and queen’s gauntlet) is the same amount of ap you’ll get from doing dungeon for a year, probably the same thing for wvw, just because the majority of people do living story, doesn’t mean you should ignore the minority that don’t, the attention anet gives living story is incredible compared to the attention it gives to dungeons, there is a bug in arah p2 where the first boss doesn’t start, it’s not really a pain and you can fix it by either resetting or going as a group, or one person going there and activating the boss then the rest of the team comes, this bug has been there for as long as I can remember, whilst I am aware that every now and then we get new wvw skills and the chest you get from leveling up, the only decent update for dungeons is the gold at the end of the run, this update also showed that anet doesn’t like dungeons, how can a path like SE p2 give as much gold as cof p1, I know SE p2 isn’t that hard but it’s time consuming.
tldr, anet is forcing people to do living story because it gives tons of rewards and ap, and people who don’t do living story (and dont farm) get a lot less gold and ap, which is unfair.
1) That was a very long sentence.
2) Nothing is forced. If you don’t want to do an event, that’s your choice. For example, is it fair that people who completed the game got a Pact token, and those who didn’t won’t get one? Is it fair for players who do CoF dungeons to get CoF tokens when they need AC tokens instead?
tl;dr – If you want something, earn it. THAT is fair.
Actually, it’s going to be Kiel. Just wait and see…
No no no no no no no no no.
Mini Faren is BEST mini.

The rates change each time another player makes an exchange either way. So it can change every second technically.
Huh, I just read that they WOULD be refunding the Karma used. I wonder if they JUST released that part of the info.
Nope. They were talking about this yesterday. Some people just complain for the sake of complaining.
I don’t understand all these similar complaints. The +Karma and +Gold infusions still work as intended. Just because they don’t work as you want them, doesn’t mean you have a valid claim for a refund.
As for the +MF, that is something I’m sure Anet will address, since the whole system of Magic Find is changing.
This is sorta like how I don’t get the Light up the Darkness achievement for killing Deadeye.
I hope Scarlet isn’t the personal nemesis that you guys had in mind. She would be a really disappointing nemesis.
Don’t worry. Kiel is pulling all the strings here. Mark my words…
I don’t get why people keep trying to point at Kiel since the theories involving her made no sense whatsoever to begin with.
There was no way Evon should have lost that election. Thus, Kiel must have had some underhanded plot to steal the council seat. My theory is: Kiel winning = Kiel evil. Sorta like 1 + 1 = 2. It’s the perfect plot twist, since now she can pull strings to assist the Aetherblades and her Grand Vice Admiral…
My Dangerscope 5000 says so.
This is totally our fault, we dropped the ball on this plain and simple. We planned to have this messaged ahead of time to be fair to everyone, communication broke down between those who knew it was supposed to be messaged, and those who were supposed to message it and it simply didn’t happen.
As game director this is ultimately my fault first and foremost, and I’m sorry for those who potentially lost some karma as a result. It is our policy to message these kind of changes ahead of time with lots of warning, I’ll do everything possible to make sure this doesn’t happen in the future.
I’d recommend not using your karma consumables yet, give us a day or two to try and see what options we have available to help mitigate the issue.
WHAT? so i get screwed now both ways, i drank all my karma potions once the change was made.. this is total bs.
We’ll find a way to restore for folks who dumped all their karma so far today too, more info from the community team soon when we get it all ironed out. Our goal is for everyone to get what they would have karma wise, hang tight.
This is what happens when you don’t read the thread before posting.
I hope Scarlet isn’t the personal nemesis that you guys had in mind. She would be a really disappointing nemesis.
Don’t worry. Kiel is pulling all the strings here. Mark my words…
No thank you. Some players would have thousands of alerts in game. Plus, the programming and running of such a program in game would eat up valuable resources better used elsewhere.
But for this topic, there is no point to miss. If you’re so concerned about not getting an item, you can camp the TP and refresh all the time. When I’m not PvEing or WvWing, I would sit at the TP and go through listings over and over, esp. on items I really want, but won’t pay full price. I don’t need an outside tool to help me with my bids. In fact, it’s more efficient to camp the TP than to have a text that alerts me of an outbid.
It is actually not more efficient to refresh the tp over an instant text- especially with multiple auctions.
Well, for you maybe it would be more efficient to submit a bid that is high enough to warrant no competitive counter bids? That, or just buy for whatever the seller is asking for.
You have two options:
1) Price it how you want to price it
2) Look at the Buy Orders and go from there
Here’s a riddle for you: If you can buy something from the Trading Post, is it still considered RNG when it’s guaranteed purchase?
:D
An Ascended item is unique in itself. They don’t drop in OW, that’s unique enough.
1. I did read.
2. Exactly, because unique doesn’t have a unique meaning. It has multiple definitions – none of which would give a hint of one being able to use merely one ring. However, “unique” could be understood as there only being one ring in existence – which fell flat when I could purchase a second ring.
Well, you read it, but you didn’t understand it. Now you do. As GI Joe once told me – “Knowing is half the battle.”
You can always submit a Support Ticket, and see if they’d be willing to help you exchange one of them, should you have no use for it on another character.
Not only will it include our PvP championship live on stage, we’ll have some other reveals you’re not going to want to miss…stay tuned! (and no the reveal is not an expansion!)
Cantha? Did someone say Cantha as a Living Story update? No? Well, maybe you should!
No thank you. Some players would have thousands of alerts in game. Plus, the programming and running of such a program in game would eat up valuable resources better used elsewhere.

The whole point of this thread is that you don’t like outside tools that assist in game. That’s fine. But we’re telling you that it doesn’t matter, as players are still required to be in game to do something. So back to my counter argument – if I outbid you, it doesn’t matter what happens outside of the game. I still outbid you.
What an amazing update.
