Why would they allow Luck to be converted into Karma? There was so much Karma sources, that Anet had to reduce some.

I agree with the OP.
PS Sometimes I wish these forums were pay-to-whine. Anet would make so much money.
100 Gems per post? Or would you suggest a “per word” fee?
I can’t wait for the Mark II’s homing rockets to be 1-hit rage machines!
Right now, the Empyreal Fragments and Dragonite Ore seem to be a little too easy* to get. Capping Towers and Camps in WvW give a lot of Empyreal Fragments, while taking Keeps gives you Dragonite Ore. Then you have World Bosses and Jumping Puzzles that can be farmed daily for these two mats. With all these sources of rare material, it seems to be speeding up the Ascended weapon crafting.
As I understand, Ascended weapons were meant to take a long time to make. Getting from lv 400 to lv 500 Crafting is in itself an expensive task. But once you hit lv 500, you can start making your weapons. Spirit Residue and Mithrillium are already gated, so why not all the other Ascended mats?
In my opinion, there should be some reductions to the drop rates of Empyreal and Dragonite mats. I don’t know if such rare Ascended mats were intended to be that easy* to get. (* easy as in more common that usual)
You’re complaining about an optional service you can even pay for by earning gold in game so no real money is required in an MMO that has no subscription.
Read that twice. Then apologize.
He played for 6-7 months. I seriously doubt he has 80g to blow on transferring servers. The no-subscription model doesn’t mean we get subscription-like game without a subscription, the game makes several large sacrifices and cuts to remove the subscription. Maybe you should realise you drank the Kool-Aid before you demand apologies from people frustrated that ArenaNet wants them to drop $20 to play with their friends.
But wait. Why blame Anet when all his friends transferred servers? If he wants to play with them in all aspects of the game (except for WvW), there’s a free GUEST option.
There’s another free option, which would be to delete all this characters, then transfer over. The Gem fee is merely the cost of having to move character data over.
Don’t forget, this is all for convenience. If neither of the options above work for the individual, then they can stay on their own server and make new friends.
I think charged lodestones were ridiculously out of sync with the prices of other lodestones. I think a reasonable price is somewhere in the range of 1 to 1.5 gold. I applaud Anet for increasing the supply of them.
Charged Lodestones are required to a large number desirable high end crafts. That means the Demand for them were high, thus the reason for the prices they went for. You may personally like cheaper Charged Lodestones, but for people who were selling them for nearly 4 Gold a piece, they’ll beg to differ.
How is anything “overpriced”, when they are all optional convenience items?
There has been a lot of “Asian” type NPCs in towns lately.
And I have a feeling that there’s an asura Gate to Cantha in the Dominion of Winds. Just saying…
Angry Cloud as a playable race in the upcoming GW2 expansion. You heard it here first people!
Some of VR will be transferring to BP so we can use up your BL’s supply to build Ram parades in the middle of fields.
Although I too wish they explained things more, I disagree with the other point you’re making.
Why should Eles and Engies get ascended level damage for free, when all other classes have to get an ascended weapon to do that damage? I thought people wanted Anet to make Engie’s weapons more desirable so they weren’t forced to use packs. Your idea would increase the imbalance.
I have a Meteorlogicus on my ele. Why should I lose 5% damage on my Lightning Hammer because someone else doesn’t have a legendary?
I could say the same thing if I had a legendary on my engineer, but that’d just be stupid because I just wear the hobo sack 90% of the time.
Engineer weapons are simply not designed to be strong and their balance patch from June shows that they still don’t have a clue. For example, they changed Scope in the tools traitline to gain 10% crit chance when further than 600 range. You think it’d be good on a rifle, but its near useless. All the rifle skills except for net shot (0 damage) and the auto attack (which is weak) are melee range. The irony is that scope is near useless with rifle and only really works with…. grenades.
Just because you have a Legendary weapon, doesn’t mean you get a free 5% damage.
A Legendary weapon doesn’t entitle you to 5%, 10%, 20% or any % extra damage. Your Legendary weapon is for cosmetic looks and bragging rights only.
A legendary entitles him to ascended level stats.
Engineers and elementalists with legendary or ascended weapons should get the benefit of the additional stats.
Isn’t Legendary/Ascended stat levels meant only for the Legendary weapon itself? Otherwise, wouldn’t be unfair for people to have multiple weapons being upgraded because of the ownership of a stronger one?

Yes, farm your 10,000 hours to get those 1,800 gems. Do you not know how much the price for gems go for nowadays? It’s like 6 gold per 100 gems!
That’s obviously not an option here, so Anet wants you to pay real money for that.
Read your post twice, because obviously you didn’t do the math, and in all honesty, I don’t even know if you’re playing this game because you know so little about it.
Read your post twice, then apologize.
I can make that amount of Gold in a day or two of farming. And I consider myself a Casual player.
Just because you cannot afford something, don’t assume that everyone else can’t.
PS – if you desire to pay real money for optional services, that’s your call, not Anet’s.
At today’s rates, 1800 gems is 82 gold. If you farm this in two days, that’s 41 gold a day. Assuming you farm 10 gold an hour, that’s 4 hours per day — and I think 10 gold/hour is quite a high number. I wouldn’t call that casual.
If you know where and how to farm, you can rack up Gold in a legit manner in a short time. Bottom line, if I can do it, other people can too.
OR… buy Gems. I do that too. Best of both worlds!

PS2 – 10k hours = 416+ days of continuous playing. But break that down to an average of 4 hours of real play time per day, and that means it woulds take you over 2,500 calendar days to farm about 100 Gold. At that point, I think you’re doing something wrong.

people complain about over-priced lodestones and Anet needing to put a price limit on the TP, etc. now that they do something and the prices go down, people complain?
Certain people want them for free, not cheap. That’s why when the supply of Charged Lodestones quadrupled, and the prices only fell by a third, the complaints kept coming.
He never said it was going through the crafting system just that they would be craftable.
What does this even mean?
Oreo cookies taste good with milk.
But that’s based entirely on the ROI of your satisfaction curve.
I don’t do it every hour of every day. Maybe a few times a week, shafting Oceanic usually (sorry Aussies). I get one or two items, the guy who out bid me gets one or two, I out bid them and get one or two, etc. In the end I get a few items, they (singular or group) get a few items and those selling them to us, get a bit more copper.
Hmmmm, there’s a good chance that we’ve been battling each other on the TP. :P
OP needs to understand that Celestial stats were already much better than other stat combos. It gave a decent bump to all stats, while other types gave bigger boosts to two or three specific combos. Subtracting the small % MF hardly hurt the overall effect of Celestials. They are still strong stat combos.
Now if you’re talking about the Ascended rings that gave +10% MF (i.e. Snaff’s Gyre), losing the MF was a huge deal, since the other boosts were so minor. And since there’s no real replacement for MF, Anet allowed these players to select a new combo.
Note – your analogy is flawed, as both of you had different harddrives, meaning different compensation packages wouldn’t be unfair.
I had way too much Karma, that I was running out of things to use it on. Over 7 million from the start of the game until now. And that’s only a fraction of the Karma gains of some players.
I’m glad they reduced the output. With Karma being so easy to get, it made it less desirable to get. Plus, now that there’s no Karma gain from failed events, that gives more incentive to people to actually succeed for the awards.
I say “Good Job” Anet. A well welcomed change.
Please don’t allow the “Iron Will” mechanic to being able to used in open field.

onestly it is no funny with the weapon, cause u have to farm gold or mat, and in the gw2 manifesto was wrote “no grind no farm” i think that u made it wrong with weapon but is already done, you also need alot of money for crafting exotic for reach the lvl 500 many ppl doesent farm gold, omg its gw2 not other mmo let me fun, not farm, a big mistake, cause now who dont have alot of money is *
with armor i suggest to require, karma that u got from ANY part of game with the same quantity, skill points cause u learn xp in ANY part of the game, a BIT of laurel, so u just have to play all THAT U WANT, not a part of a game, and a small ammount of fractal relics and token, wth its ascended its for ppl that play fotm, why those ppl doesent anything more than others, they need it for play his favorite dungeon…
i know its the best set on the game (except legendary, same stat but more cool) but i dont wanna farm, i just wanna play like manifesto saiddont talk me about easyest and faster then other games cause i dont care about that gw2 should be different, if ppl that like to farm and keep them busy wanna be superbusy just make really hard to do legendary stuff, but for ppl that have a job and life and can play 1-2 hours per day and in those time dont wanna do (they also cant) champ farm, temple farm, 4000 dungeon.. but we wanna just play and have fun
and also dont talk me about “you dont need ascended for play” cause i want it, i like fotm, and i’d like do pairs lvl over 50 so stop with useless reply and be constructive if u dont like my idea find another solution, but i dont wanna play at grind wars 2thanks
Hi there! Grinding exists, but Anet isn’t forcing you to do so. Because you want an Ascended weapon, you must choose between voluntary grinding, or waiting to get a lucky drop. So the Manifesto still applies.
Does anyone else feel like even though you bought the game and should be able to develop your character as you see fit, Anet has decided to tell everyone they MUST change crafting choices to the three they have chosen with this patch in order to use the ascended drops. We should have the choice to make a crafting change if WE so desire or sell the ascended drops on TP and make some money. As it stands my bank is slowly filling up with all of the drops b/c I really don’t feel like being forced to level a new craft simply to use the drops. I guess big brother decides not only which profession you should roll but also which craft we should choose.
Ascended mats are used to craft Ascended weapons. Why does that not make sense? If I have lv 400 Cooking, why would I be able to use Orichalcum?
If you want to craft your own Ascended weapon, you must have a weapon type craft on. Later in the year, you’ll be able to craft Ascended armors with the mats. So if you save up, you’ll have an easy time doing so then.
I now know how to fund next year’s PAX trip!

Your account looks like it was involved in an RMT transaction. One of the triggers might be a high value of items being moved between accounts.
if i add someone to my guild and raise there rank can they access the bank remove the iteams then send them to me?
Anet will not assist you with moving your items. However, if you trust someone enough to grant them full access to your Guild Bank, and have them mail you all the stuff, then that’s cheaper than paying Gems and waiting a week to transfer back. And remember this – if the person takes your stuff, Anet won’t assist in getting those items back either.
No matter how it is made, an introduction of more ways to get precursors are going to lower the value. I see the price of them on the tp being cut in half actually, and more along the lines of the mini-legendaries, ie Foefire, etc.
I think prices in the beginning will drop due to speculation, but if there are time gates and Gold sinks, the Precursor prices might still creep up to current levels. If it takes a month or longer to craft a Precursor, and you have the option of buying one on the TP, guess which option an impatient player will choose?
There are all types of players. The ones who are willing to wait to build a Precursor are just sacrificing time over money. There are those who are opposite, and would rather sacrifice money over time. It’s the latter’s demand that might still affect the market.
You are seeing a standard automated response from Customer Service so just keep pleading your case. Posting this here will not assist and do NOT open multiple tickets as that will certainly slow down the process.
If it lingers for a week or so, there is a thread at the top of this forum that is reviewed by a Community Lead at Anet and she may be able to assist you (so post in that thread after a few days).
I would debate your claim of GW2 being pay-to-play, but so many people have different ideas of what that term actually means, I won’t bother.
That’s not an automated response. It’s a copy/paste response that’s used when a similar situation presents itself, and the Support Staff saves time by reusing the line. Basically, the player shared her account with someone else, and game logs prove it.
let me say this, ive never shared my guild wars account with anyone, because ive learned a hard lesson in other game.
As I understand. Your account has been caught in exercising illegal actions (most like botting or other use of third party programming). Each time you login the ip adress you log in with is recorded (or atleast I assume it is one thing that tracked cause it is needed for many processes, so it is logic to also record it). The answer that support is giving is that in their logs it shows that the illegal actions have not (only) been exercised when the account was logged in from a chinese IP-adress and it wasn’t in such a confined period. The fact that an chinese IP-adress TRIED to log in to you account (and likely not even succesfull) doesn’t clean the account of all illegal actions. If you can proof your account was hacked you have a case in this situation not.
I know it sounds harsh. But all things you are bringing on the table can be easily be staged and people doing illegela actions would know. The trick is to separate the right from the wrong. I’m not saying your right or wrong, but I am saying that your proof so far is not convincing. I’m very sorry bout that
If you want Gaile Gray to have a look at this please post the 12 digit ticket number here. (the 72 hours sticky is for tickets that are unresolved within 72 hours, this one is resolved, but the OP disagree with the outcome). Although it doesn’t really matter as long as Gaile gets the ticketnumber (never pm her though).
Good Luck!
as u said i cant prove that my account has been hacked, but,i want to ask,how can i proof that my account has been hacked more than that?it has been logged in by a foreign IP and my stuffs were gone,so you think that a normal person would sell or destroy his gears then come to forum and complain that costumer service is a shi?
i dont know if hackers now a day would leave a ticket on your desktop like: youve been hacked kitten hole or something like this, but in this case i dont have any thing like this to “Prove my accout was hacked”.sorry about the “rage”,seriously,my ticket number is 130904-001402,and what happened is not fun.
I am not saying that hackers do that. I am saying that your mail is no proof they got in. It is only proof they logged in, but where blocked, cause it was a strange ip adress. Thats why they have sent you an email. I am saying that some people using third party programs (not hackers) try to trick customer support.
But, You have asked Gaile Gray for a review, and I am pretty confident you will get one. Knowing her, if you are innocent she’ll make sure you will be helped. If there is any doubt bout your innocence then her answer will likely be different. So good luck.
Is that hard to track your mail password while they already know their target or,how do you know if they were blocked or not,as you said the authorization mail just means that some1 tried to get in,but it doesnt show if the intruder got in or not.
No. What they’re saying is that they saw the game logs (something we can’t see), and have reason to believe that the account was shared in the past. IP address logs from multiple countries can be a sign of either account sharing, or hacking. If it happened in the past, and no report was made, then someone might assume it was an intended sharing of accounts, which is against the rules.
I would leave the Gold in the mail as is (not returned and not accepted), and immediately contact the Anet Support Team. If this other account was indeed being used to funnel RMT Gold, your account runs the risk for a perma ban. It will appear that you were the one who made the transaction, and that is not good.
Let Anet tell you what to do with the mail. If they tell you to delete it, do so. If they say keep it, then it’s ok to keep.
To be safe, accept them, and put them into your Bank storage. THEN delete the character if you choose to.
Precursor building is just another option for players to get their desired weapon, rather than RNG. If you want to MF one or buy one, I’m sure that option will still exist. But it’s hard to call it “easy mode” considering the amount of money you need to put into building or buying a Legendary. The average player cannot afford to do that normally.
If the Scavenger Hunt is tied into the Precursor building, along with lv 500 Weaponsmith, Huntsman, or Artificer, then the process should be quite long and expensive in and of itself.

Accidentally purchased wrong karma item
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Smooth Penguin.5294
Sorry mate. This isn’t WoW. Anet doesn’t refund mistaken purchases. If they put in a buy back system in the future, maybe you’ll be able to get your Karma back then.
From our tests, I can guess the following:
1) Only lv 80 Exotics have a chance to drop 0-3 Dark Matter
2) BL Salvage kits have a much higher rate of return than Mystic Salvage kits.
3) Dark Matter is expensive to get…
So Colin mentioned at PAX that a couple of days ago that they’ll be introducing the ability to build Precursors, and then said it’s most likely going to be done through crafting. So in the spirit of debate, I’ll present my theory of the process, and my opinion on the matter.
So in the past, we’ve heard the term “Scavenger Hunt” thrown around. Now we’re hearing that you can build your own (again likely through crafting). What I foresee Anet doing is that the “Scavenger Hunt” part will be to find what I’ll call T8 materials, or materials specifically used to craft a Precursor weapon (or armor!). For the sake of balance, these items will most likely be Account Bound. This forces people to actually have to work to get their materials, instead of just buying them piecemeal from the TP. Due to the importance of Precursors, there might be some time gates (think Ascended crafting) to prevent mass production and market infusion of these items.
Next up, the Gold Sink part of Precursors. My guess is that the “Precursor Recipe” will cost both Gold and Laurels, again similar to Ascended weapons. If not this, then a possibility would be that you’d have to hunt and find the recipe. Perhaps it’s a drop from a Legendary World Boss that will require mass coordination to defeat (i.e. Tequatl v2.0).
Finally, you have the building part. If this really will involve crafting, then expect to be required to have lv 500 Weaponsmith, Huntsman, or Artificer. Why do I believe this? Well, Precursors aren’t your normal, run of the mill Exotics. They’re used to create Legendaries, which are top of the line Ascended quality weapons.
With my theory of what will happen later this year, I’m hoping this will keep Precursor and Legendary weapons rare. My previous worries about having a Scavenger Hunt would be that Legendary weapons would be too fast tracked, thus making them more common and easy to obtain. And note – having 1,500 Gold to buy a Legendary off the TP isn’t fast tracking, as it takes the average player a long long time to accumulate that much wealth. If the Scavenger Hunt is extensive and includes time gated materials, that’s a good balance between accessibility of Precursors and rarity. It does give players the option of something other than RNG, but doesn’t make them easy to get either way.
I think you’re given a reason either with an e-mail, or a message screen when you attempt to log into the game.

Random mines and spike pits underground that can not be seen, is dying for no reason.
I think it’s more along the lines of “randomly forgetting where the traps are”. If there’s a safe zone, and you forget where it is, then it’s obvious that you’ll die when you land on the wrong spot.
Just wait for 25+ Omegas with Golem Mastery pilots. That’s when we’ll have 25 vs 25 Omega GvG!
Now that we have the rainbow hoof footfalls, the Infinite Unicorn Tonic is the only logical next step. Anet should mail a Soulbound tonic to all Dreamer owners, and allow them to Costume Brawl as such. It shouldn’t be too hard, as the unicorn model is already in game, as the projectiles of the bow.
IMO, equipping the Dreamer should turn you into a pony.

If you’re good enough, you don’t have to grind for Continue Coins, because you wouldn’t need them.

My point of view is completely different than the OP’s. I saved up enough mats to craft Rare and Exotic GS to try for Dawn or Dusk. Maybe threw in 300+ Gold’s worth. Got none. Did I quit? No, because I only put in what I could afford to.
Sorry you felt the need to quit because things didn’t turn out your way. The good news here is that your account will always remain, so you can rejoin the game anytime you choose!
