The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
….also, don’t eat guild wars 2….
CMF <3
Were excited as well to be facing DB and FA. We have old friends on DB we want to say hello to and ofc FA fights hard as well, along with killing our Yaks! There will be another Dolyak parade rematch! <3
Last weekend JQ brought the pain and I did wonder if I would spend the week in PvE…
I WAS WRONG!
TC and FA pushed us hard right to the end of the week and I expect nothing less this week.
I’d also want to add the ability to take out elite skills and add other skills in their place. For example, on my mesmer I can only use time warp or mass invisibility underwater, both of these skills are very SITUATIONAL making them useless most of the time. Having some basic utility in their place would be much more appropriate.
Dear FA and TC,
Thank you for the match up this week. I enjoyed the fights on the field and even enjoyed returning to the forums! It was refreshing to see people actually ENJOY playing and having fun (and for the most part no inserted rants with huge wall of text with people arguing about them and theres!).
TC SEA had it hard but I can honestly that you are No1 for resilience and sheer get up and go. I never saw you guys give up and kept pushing even when other servers had historically long given up. Respect
I had some great fights with FA too. You guys are rock solid and I never take you guys lightly on the field.
Thank you for reminding me of what balanced healthy communities are along with good fighting too.

+1 to this.
I’ve noticed too that while a few achievements may be ‘close’ to being finished % wise, the actual amount of work required to achieve it is still significant.
Agree that you need an option to hide nearly completed achievements.
I’ve also done private studies of such things.
Semantics aside, you have done a lot of research on customer service and customer satisfaction it would seem.
While I don’t directly dispute what you have stated. I think there needs to be some clarity around whats been stated already.
While ANet is not perfect, they along with Devon have done an amazing job keeping us informed, I wouldn’t be using terms like ‘being ignored and/or kept in the dark’. Some people may feel that way, but then it becomes relative. Do people who played SWTOR feel they were ignored more than compared to being a GW2 player? I believe so, which in turn offers us perspective.
You state that Devon was criticised for ‘not saying anything’. Yet within the same thread we see Devon explaining circumstances in more detail and avoiding a ‘generic response’, in essence doing what you asked, from which some responses simply drew more criticism.
If we take you statement about how an ‘appropriate’ response should be, it’s just as easy to pull it apart and criticise it:
“we know you folks think there is a problem and we’d like to check into it, but the system is complex and our resources are thin so hopefully we’ll have something to tell you at a later date.”
Example:
“There’s a problem alright, WvW is neglected that’s why resources are ‘thin’ 3 million copies sold, where is all the money going? PvE I bet, you have a bunch of teams generating new content for the PvE’s and yet you continually marginalise WvW at the expense of this Living World content that half of us never do! At what’s this ‘later date’ is that a new way of saying not anytime soon?
‘A more appropriate response’ is in the eye of the beholder.
Getting back to the original point, that’s why it’s easier to not give specifics and give more generalised responses. ANet have made a commitment to keep in touch with the community and I believe they do that, relative to other companies but they have to draw a line in the sand, they don’t have infinite resources.
It’s POINTLESS to give long detailed responses each and every time, because you will never make everyone happy and and you are pushing resources into something where you energies could be better spent else where eg. making the game better.
To reiterate, I think Devon does an amazing job and communicates well with the community. Like I said in my original post he has done more for WvW in his few months there compared to what WvW got 6 months from release.
We can complain, people will always complain, but I don’t want us, the community to alienate Devon from us. While he is an absolute professional I’m sure, there is always an emotive response being a human being as well Respect
EDIT: The guy below me provides an even better example of ‘pulling apart’ statements and criticising -.-

Customers will almost always
Almost always? No, don’t be naive. When you make a clear definition you are immediately putting people in a position to agree or disagree with that statement and call you on that statement later.
People don’t appreciate a clear statement when they strongly disagree with it, or find it to be untrue later.
Carefully crafted statements are the only sure steps one can take when addressing the public. Devon has been praised but also heavily criticised for making statements previously in the forums. He has better things to do with his time than constantly give long, detailed, thought out responses. He’s helping to craft a game, not social services.
Hence its safer and more time efficient to make generic statements, it does not put people into a position of having to ‘choose’ and gives him flexibility, should things change or other aspects take priority.
People ask for cosmetic mounts but it won’t be enough. How do I know this? Because they are already available in the shop.
As soon as ANET officially announces support of mounts of any kind the logical step is for people to start threads about useful mounts.
It will go something like this:
“ZOMG I’m so sick of these cosmetic mounts, WHY can’t I have a mount with a (insert random bonus), I paid a zillion gold and you won’t even give me THAT!”
So the worm turns.
Want a laugh? Go read the BG/SoR/DB thread. (Warning: 90% posts are from BG and SoR).
Home Instances:
I slide this in here too, I just expected it to be far more personalised than what it currently is.
First Person Perspective:
Personally I don’t mind so much, however I see SO many people that want this feature.
This thread still being updated?
Even if it doesnt fit the lore.
The thing about Lore is that there’s always a way!
+1 to this thread.
One thing which is REALLY starting to weigh in for me is creature comforts, to an extent I’m being liberal with my use of this term, the context here being relative to things that make life in GW2 a little more convenient and easy or simply just nicer!
So to be clear, not having creature comforts isn’t necessarily game breaking, this is not a HAS TO HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY post. But the the process by which we go about doing some things makes one let out an inconvenient sigh as you perform the task or actions required or even the process that your involved in at that time.
To be more specific I’ll list some things. I’m looking for people to add their own ideas and perhaps comment on how much you desire these or other creature comforts ingame.
Save/Swap traits:
Having to zone to LA (or where ever), pay money and then rebuild ones traits over and over. People should be able to save builds and swap them relatively easily (even at cost).
Guild Halls:
A place to meet and greet guildies before events/activites, easily accessible merchants etc there (so you don’t clog up WvW queues).
Commander pin:
It’s a blue taco you follow, that’s all. Needs to be more useful when leading the map in WvW and you need to be able to set up private pins for guildies only. It needs to do A LOT more than what it currently does.
Waypoint:
Map>Hearts of the Mists>LA>etc.
It feels like a small grind with load screens and wait times. Make all major cities free to travel to, its the same thing, just without the load screens.
Weapon Swap:
Keep current weapon swap system ‘IN’ combat but have multiple weapon sets that you are free to swap to ‘OUT’ of combat. Engineers and ele’s too. Opening inventory and manual clicking things is not ideal.
To reiterate i like the new content we receive, however I am starting to desire the above mentioned things more than the newest flashy backpiece.

Truth be told I didn’t take as long as some to beat him. HOWEVER, I am sick and tired of this RNG element that ANET insists on. Yes it involves some skill, but its mostly luck.
“We’re working on it”
You know when they say that, it may actually be true.
“Politically correct” responses may annoy you, but I guarantee if Devon said something like “we will have it adjusted in one month” and it didn’t happen in one month. People would nerd rage the forums for YEARS afterwards.
My advice to you is just relax. Devon has done more for WvW the last few months than we saw in the 6 months following GW2’s release.

+1 Thanks, that’s what I was missing, PL & AR.
JQ has gained all its fair weather players back, that’s contributing to the numbers out there.
I actually had to laugh the other day.
One random player came on and started telling one of our veteran commanders how to do his job. Interestingly no one told him to keep quiet, everyone just ignored him into silence.
Another player came on the map and said to same commander “You’ve been away the last month or so?” The commander had never been away.
I was feeling sleepy last night in WvW, so I ask my group ‘serious’ questions about stealth placement, as I had one from chest reward.
We all decided placing it on the arrow cart we had facing the tower was ideal.
TC and FA working together? LOL, I don’t see that ever happening.
It actually happened. DB complained about an imagined 2v1 so much that we actually made it happen – it’s what made most of the bad FA and TC blood go away, and it was huge fun besides!
That’s pretty much what happened to BG.
I’ve noticed this too, it’s associated with the vambraces. Personally I don’t care it’s not distracting at all, don’t know why but I had a dream about this thread…
All that’s missing is for a developer to read this thread and say “What, you don’t like your space arms?”.
Bots for the most part are easy to spot, Their movement seems more ‘mechanical’ and they don’t take, I guess what you would call natural pauses.
If I’m not 100% sure I start to follow the toon around. Pretty quickly the person will either stop and look at me as a kind of “can I help you?”, or they simply just freeze on the spot “maybe if I don’t move, he won’t notice me”.
Recently, I’ve been wanting more creature comforts in GW2, more than new flashy content.
I want a home instance to mean something more than something I did during story mode and a place to farm Quartz.
Guild Halls too, to hang out with people before we participate in events.
Builds should be saved and easy to retrieve (even at cost). This could include weapons and armour too.
That’s some quick ideas.
+1 when I’m on my mesmer I feel locked into my scepter/focus usage just to keep speed up.
In WvW when you stack (provided a group knows what it is doing) I will get swiftness buff and don’t require any speed enhancement. IF however i get distracted, pulled away or simply am not there when the buffs go up, i get left behind.
On any of the professions that have a run signet i simply select it quickly while running and then swap back to a skill if i see a fight incoming (even if I don’t see the fight incoming I’m only left with one skill I can’t use, so what)
They are aware of it, there’s a thread around here that says it will be sorted out next updated.
Stay away from top tiers, its efficient zerg blobs that rule, you don’t see that much small group stuff. Ive seen a few posters here stating that their guild have 5 man groups roaming but I’ve also seen those same guilds fold into the blob (maybe it was just down time).
Scouting is efficient and blobs are super organised, doesn’t leave much room for small groups.
I have 8 lvl 80’s and spend a lot of time in WvW. Of those 8 I use 5 of them in WvW in much the same way you do, on and off again.
While I have moments of ‘adjustment’ when I come back to a toon Ive not played seriously for a few weeks it really feels like riding a bike, you never forget what do to, despite the changes that have occurred.
Define being mediocre?
I don’t feel mediocre when I play, having said that if you asked most WvW players if they had above average ability compared to other WvW players they most likely would say yes, which is impossible.
One thing I did decide, sometime ago, is I don’t care much for sPvP.
It’s a loose analogy but what it means is, I don’t care for that extra 1% damage I can do if I completely change my build around.
I know that if I sunk all my time into one toon I could squeeze another 10% out of my performance BUT, I’d miss the fun I’ve had on my other toons. The different playstyles, the different techniques, it makes GW2 feel fresh all over again, I enjoy it.
That’s what I mean by I don’t care for sPvP. So what if my efficiency in a toon is at 80% instead of 90% where I know I could be, I get pretty close to it anyway, by the time I get bored and switch to another toon. I mean how often do you end up fighting someone 1v1 in WvW? How many times you think that extra 10% would have won the fight?
In my experience decent knowledge of armour/weapons/runes etc. and some situational awareness overcomes any short falls you may have and as a result I get to re-experience my toons all over again which in turn makes GW2 feel fresh.
Hope that helps.
Pros use the free tag. Target.
It’s a cheap solution for a broken mechanic.
+1
Seriously can we report the PvE trollers for coming to a WvW thread and trolling us for doing our job ie. kill people.
The puzzle is not too difficult or too hard, i like it there.
The OP feels frustrated? Welcome to WvW, wish my server won ever week, thems the breaks. That’s what happens when you put players against players.
randomization isn’t the problem.
Randomisation places you against servers with better coverage.
This is the bi-product of the new ‘randomisation’ system ANet have implemented. JQ is not in a good position but I’ve seen worse. SoS have had some bad match ups and I’m reading posts from Anvil Rock which indicates they have imploded as a result.
This is the result of the randomization process that ANet has now implemented. It was fine if you were a solid server that was matched against lower ranked guilds. IF however you were unlucky and were constantly placed against higher ranked servers, your server would take a beating again and again.
I’ve seen a few servers post similar.
I am also impressed so far.
I laugh at these threads. Your in a PvP zone. Don’t bring PvE to PvP -.-
Temporary content with such short deadlines is not ideal imo.
I do like the idea of aspects being temporary along with some prestige gear with that.
Having said that I like the idea of revisiting a dungeon for example that has a rare skin drop that I can try for, that’s still available a few months down the track.
The community is getting a little tired of temporary content, which the devs have acknowledged.
While it won’t help this patch it seems, expect more permanent content in the future.
I haven’t made it so far into the patch yet so I won’t comment directly on what people are saying.
What I will say is that most Oceanics have managed to compensate for our 300ms ping times with the way we approach most online games.
That said if there is no feasible way to compensate for the activities that developers have in place for those that have a 300ms ping, developers really need to look at this and consider.
Oceanics asked for a Oceanic server, which we never got. Lets not punish the oceanics further.
1- Legendary acquisition fix
2- Combat templates (traits, weapons…)
3- Commander icon (it needs an overhaul so that it’s more than just a blue dot to follow in WvW)
CM I was missing p3, TA I was missing UU, HotW I was missing SM <.< so now just SE and Arah’s to go.
It still strikes me as unnecessarily convoluted to determine which ones have been missed, it should be clear under the achievement panel. Perhaps this will be done in the coming update.
OK, you got me.
i know this is a game.. but if you look at the real world, not everyone that works hard becomes a legend. a lot of it comes with timing, luck, being in the right place at the right time, being born in the right time, the list goes on….
it comes down to what your perspective of legendary is, vs what ANet’s is, vs what everyone else’s is.
what i am trying to say is.. don’t let it get to you. don’t turn bitter. keep trying and when you DO get it, it will be that much more worth it.
This has been a healing process. Thank you all, I feel much better!
Love how he can’t even respond to this and tries to ignore it.
LOL! Hardly. I’m feeling much better, having said my piece.
I’m actually fascinated now with how emotional everyone is getting and the lengths people are going too. I want people to type MORE!
BakingBabe, can I ask a question? You have NEVER posted on this forum till right this moment! My thread being the first! SO! Either my thread motivated you THAT much to make your post OR Emperor log onto his other account!
HAHA.
OMG this is too funny.
Yep, we’ve been losing a game for months so used to it, we are the wet nurses :P
I’m feeling much better now!
I am “losing an argument”
Hey it’s ok, we’re here for you.
3 of you 4 points were RNG
That doesn’t inherently make the fourth point RNG.
I wonder what the problem is…
People don’t read?
That’s why it wasn’t 4 of 4.
they’re also paying me to talk about this.
So it’s your fault!
Secondly, saving gold and buying a precursor is in no way “RNG”.
Grammar correction on the internets, the first sign of any losing argument sigh
You’re right about RNG. In fact at no point did I disagree with you but now you are even forgetting what you typed -.-
3 of you 4 points were RNG
Now as a friendly prompt go back and read the thread. You’ll find I’ve already answered you points about precursor purchases.
You could have spent that “Savings” on buying the actual precursor. And if that really was everything you had since launch, Then you must have really not made a lot of gold.
Yes I will in future pay the ‘legendary’ flippers if I continue with it. BTW define for me what is “a lot of gold” at this stage of the game?
You presume these precursors are owned by dishonest people, which is a dishonest presumption.
What? lol sigh no I didn’t.
I knew not to expect much from the forums, but I am still surprised.
If you truly had that much gold, why not just buy the Precursor?
How much is that much you speak of?
Paying flippers is part of the legendary process, I now see this.
Paying TP flippers is what I’m reduced to it seems if I’m to get ANY kind of legendary.
Where RNG is most likely skewed:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/3000-Played-No-random-precursor-drop/first#post2338615
Personally if sigil’s, rune’s and trait’s don’t work correctly what makes you think RNG is functioning correctly.
And of course my friend here:
2800 hours played:
-3 Precursors in WvW
-3Precursors in Open PvE
-2 Precursors in the Maw Fractal
-3 Precursors from the Mystic Forge
The last straw for me was today. I used all my savings that i’d accumulated since GW2 launch to buy a bunch of rare’s to throw into the Mystic toilet.
I got many exotics, none of them precursor’s and nothing that will go any great length to recover what I spent.
The most upsetting part is everything is there. The mats, gifts, map completion etc. It was only ever the precursor that was missing.
RNG has shafted me twice now and if I continue with wanting to get the ‘legendary’ I’ll take the ‘legendary’ step of grinding cof p1 and paying TP flippers in the future.
Is this what legendary is?
