The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
Silence
Perhaps the only way to do Tribulation mode without the continue coin is to wait for a walk through to get released, but even then.
Somewhere else I was reading that the ‘infinite continue’ could get applied elsewhere. Like when the Queen’s gauntlet returns…. Tickets become difficult to farm, are from events that can only be repeated once a day HOWEVER go to the gemstore to be saved!
Is this pushing into the realm of P2W?

I can see it now, the Queen’s Gauntlet will return with an infinite ticket in the gem store, every Living Story update will be accompanied by a mini-game (or it will be a mini-game) with a tedious entry requirement conveniently negated by a gem store item.
My god, the future of GW2? This is pushing P2W.
Have you guys hit up world 2 yet?
Even SAB makes you use the Gemstore now.
Cut backs on farming baubles, ramp up the difficulty on world 2 compared world 1 (not even doing Tribulation Mode), have spawn spots that you are easily pushed behind (making it easier to die and respawn).
Visit the Gemstore and buy an infinite continue coin is the way to go. I’m not surprised, just disappointed.

Infinite continue coin from the GEMstore. SAB has gone that way too -.-
So I just did a run, using the old dig spots i knew from previous SAB which returned no baubles. (World 1, zone 2).
Have they been removed or is it just being stupidly particular about hitting THAT one spot that I was unlucky 3 times over.
This guy made me laugh:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/jubilee/Liadri-alienates-a-lot-of-gw2-players/first
He did a big QQ post saying if anyone beat her they were ‘lucky’. Some time later he updated his post to say he beat her. In his update he removed lucky and made a passing comment about camera angles.
I lol’d.
This is the negative flip side to new content every 2 weeks, there’s no time to remove all the bugs.
The 13/13 map invasion event was the most insane, that should have been 10/10 but as said, it’s just a bypass to poor programming.
In any event, if you have a guardian at lvl 80 use wall of reflection and shield of the avenger, it prevents the meat hitting the ground at all. My guard only had a moderate build for DPS, but was enough to kill the dog and then its master before WoR and SoA run out.
The hardest part for me was to overcome the latency. Being an oceanic on 300ms ping wasn’t funny. At least 50% of my deaths were from clipping visions or still being inside AoE.
Having said that it was still very satisfying to have beaten her. I regard this mini now above all others and respect others that have it.
I was in a similar boat with the 2 I was missing, I narrowed it down to 5 which turned out to be correct, but even then having to wait on a possible 13 hour rotation for 1 map to pop (or longer?).
After i got the achievement I never touched the events again.
10/10 would have been ideal, it would have allowed you to bypass poor programming and sloppy coding. But that’s giving them room for their own incompetence.
A tracking system would be ideal.
4 map events that spawned simultaneously would have stopped the stupid 13 hour rotations
A system that encouraged everyone to participate the whole event. Not just aspects of it that included a champion -.-
^ It is a form of prestige, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. While I’m happy that others now can access the content and get the achievements, there should be recognition for those of us there first.
After all, if not for those that played it and enjoyed it originally, it wouldn’t have enjoyed the support and success it did, and the subsequent motivation to bring it back because of that popularity.
Some recognition for that would be nice.
10/10 for the achievement would have been ideal, you could bypass the poor coding and failed programming much easier.
At 13/13 you were thrust right back into it.
A tracker would have made sense too.
If LS every 2 weeks means more AP’s like this, I think I’ll pass.
AP farmers fail events too. The 13/13 was a stupidly insane achievement due to the game failing to recognise your participation on a map (even tho you get rewarded -.-) and no tracker for which event was missed.
It meant many of us had to repeat events despite having no interest in participating in them again and making sure the criteria was met i.e. killed a champion.
Many would subsequently afk the rest of the fight.
This is the single worst achievement ever for this patch (of all time?). I finally achieved it after having to repeat events and taking the unruly step of staying logged into GW2 for HOURS on the off chance the maps i missed would pop.
I could have walked away, but to get to 11/13 relatively pain free it seemed a waste to walk away at that point.
As a bi-product though I started to resent GW2, it was a defining moment that made me feel like GW2 was a grind. Since then….
Anyways it was dev stupidity that decided on 13/13. 10/10 would allow much more flexibility in the system and allow people to bypass the bugs and fail coding. Instead we were thrust right back into it.
Not since the Lost Shore’s have I participated in an event that made me feel I had wasted so much of my time.
is it really that difficult to remember which zones you’ve completed an invasion in
No it’s not that difficult -.-
I skipped over this thread initially, because it struck me as a QQ post. Having tried (regretfully now) to get 13/13 i HATE this event and actually believe the OP is onto something.
I talked in detail about it else where in a different thread so I don’t want to go into detail about it again. Sure I could walk away, but it’s not the point:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/speech/Invasion-Canceler-AP-Feedback/first#post2707025
What I do want to mention is I having persisted with this event has actually made me resent GW2. For the first time since release I really felt it’s probably time to take a break from GW2 for awhile.
If ANet is going to INSIST of these 2 week updates, then they REALLY need to create a system that compensates for bugs and flawed events.
I got to 11/13 relatively quickly, then spent the better part of a day getting to 12 and missed 13/13 this morning by literally 2 minutes.
The express pass to level 20 scrolls are fine too. When and if new classes or races become available, I’ll use them on the new char slots I will buy.
Over the months (years) how many new professions/races will be created compared to how many +20 xp scrolls you will get…… it won’t be proportional.
While your at it make it 10/10 for the achievement. When players said they wanted more hardcore they meant ‘player skill’ not hardcore ‘time’ -.-
Here i am a day later, sitting on 12/13…. Just saying…
One thing that occurred to me is that this game always promotes itself as an ‘alt friendly’ game. There are many examples where this is simply just not the case and this is another.
Don’t get me wrong I don’t regret the slots I bought at launch or the 8 lvl 80’s I now have. HOWEVER I now have 8 identical mini’s i can do nothing with and a +20 exp scroll I can’t use. So the best thing I got was something that’s impermanent?
Looking at what they did in GW1 for birthdays, ANet should have removed themselves from mini’s altogether if they weren’t at least going to emulate GW1 or surpass it. Instead they went a step backwards…
+ 1 to this………….. (15)
For the ‘Balloon Tower Tourist’ I had a similar situation in terms of it not registering, and therefore losing track which ones I had done. But It didn’t matter, I could simply go to a tower I knew I hadn’t done and bypass the bugs and uncertainty.
For this achievement you are thrust right back into it.
The OP nailed it, probably the only thing where we WANTED some kind of RNG and didn’t get it, and at 8 lvl 80’s the scrolls are useless.
The IDENTICAL mini’s are account bound so dunno if i can mystic toilet them but the fact I can’t sell them is an even greater negative. Which leaves the only thing of an interest is the boost, which is impermanent.
Coming from GW1 I expected something similar. After receiving what I have I actually wish that ANET gave it a little more thought.
I have an idea that Dev conversation about birthdays went something like:
“Character birthdays are coming up”
“Sigh really…. geeeeez were gonna have to give them something”
“Don’t look at me, I’m busy with LS stuff”
“Well I’m too busy to flush this out, what about him whose that guy? He doesn’t look busy”
“That’s the janitor”
“Hey you, what do you think these guys would want as birthday presents?”
The very elderly man looks up thoughtfully, pauses for a moment and says “A beautiful woman to keep them warm at night, something that helps them grow up quickly to be big and strong and even something to help them on the way”
…
“OK, I can work with that”
I don’t mind some of the achievements I’ve done but this one has become particularly grating imo.
Sitting at 11/13 I’m actually wondering which ones I haven’t done. Interestingly I did make a list but at some point I attended an event that didn’t register so I now have to do some of them again.
The length and activities involved being rather repetitive made it very time consuming to go back and do them again and unwanted.
I enjoyed the first few fights I participated in but slowly got dis-interested. Now sitting at 11/13 being unsure which ones exactly I have done, I’ve found myself going afk when in the middle of the fight due to dis-interest.
Sure I can walk away and not participate in them anymore, but it would feel a waste to not have the 25AP given how close I am.
Overall this event consumes a lot of time, is randomised so you often have to wait and hope the ones u need come up. Then if your like me, you have to repeat them and hope you find the missing one.
As I already said I could simply walk away, but more to the point if I want the AP i don’t feel I’m benefiting the map as much as I should because I’m not putting much effort in. 25 AP is a lot I suppose, but this AP in particular feels unnecessarily drawn out.
That’s my take on it anyways, just wondering how others feel.
Dear BG and SoR
Thanks for the match up this week.
Many on JQ were unsure of our future when we went into the match up against FA and TC a few weeks back. JQ had lost a number of players and many of us asked ‘what is JQ?’
Since then JQ has taken stock and come to appreciate even more what BG and SoR has to offer, concurrently being appreciative of what other servers have given us.
TC showed us again what good communities can do and how to win without winning. We learnt a lot from FA too and their fighting spirit, their ‘If it’s red, it’s dead’ policy that upset many dolyak, but they kept fighting no matter what Respect. Even Mags taught us what real trolls are and how to fight!
It was good JQ took a break and met other servers, we learnt a lot. It also gave us space to find ourselves again and think what does tier 1 mean to us. Many of us now have renewed vigour and understanding, we come back to BG and SoR with open arms.
JQ wins this week but it’s not the guarantee that it once, but that’s ok. JQ has come to appreciate even more the fights that BG and SoR put out. While trolls will do their thing, the veteran players take it to the field and the more balanced of us see how the current tier 1 match-up is the most dynamic we’ve seen (since launch?).
It’s a love hate relationship, but deep down inside we all love this match up. Respect to our BG and SoR brethren. To our next match together and future fights!
<3
The FA fighting spirit lives on!
Popped in to say JQ misses you guys and offer you congrats on your win this week!
Also thanks for the support you’ve shown us this week too!

I had made a number of posts stating a reformed Commander system is ideal, in some respects that moment is gone. People that wanted it I know have quit, moved on or simply folded into the zerg.
Perhaps if/when an updated system is implemented it will reinvigorate people. But as it stands I throw in the towel.
+1 Thank you ANet.
Some people on the internets will never be happy, the rest of us appreciate such a good system.
At least they are cutting back on the ‘F’ Wars (press F to win).
In all seriousness LW content feels like a gimmick that’s a carrot on a stick. All the chat in guild is about how you can get your AP up a lot with this round of LW and it’s a good farm for mats…..
This ‘system’ is what I have been doing with rares for over 6 months with no luck. No ‘system’ will balance the process BECAUSE it’s RNG.
For the most part now I have given up on a legendary, putting only rares i find into the Mystic toilet. Blind luck or TP Flip are your ways to a precursor.
Congratulations, you are lucky, there is nothing legendary about this.
The thread of hyper-competitive over achievement
I guess this is a bump post then, given how many posts are already here.
There’s only a few servers up or down that are generally competitive with you. The margin is too wide for servers you fight and boring games are the result. Being the winner or the loser in such extreme games is fun for no one.
This week has been my quietest week in WvW for sometime because of the blow out.
I completely disagree with the OP. Southsun Survival was GREAT, perfect no, but GREAT.
Usually these mini games for me are just ‘smash face’ with a difference.
What I <3 about Southsun is that while there’s a smash face component it’s completely feasible to win and not to have killed anyone! This is the best mini game yet!
Additionally, with it being more strategic in it’s overall approach (not just smash face). I felt I was wasn’t being punished for being an oceanic with poor ping. I HATED the sanctum races for that very reason, getting beaten by people with less ability but better ping.
Thank You ANet. good job.
HiS + Shadowstep (etc.) seems far more likely to me.
kewl?
Stealth>Teleport Hack>Out of Combat>Res
Good luck proving it, but it happens more than you think. Just consider what information happens client side compare server side.
OK! Let’s forget the ppt and focus on the fights on the field!
The last few weeks we’ve faced off against FA and I gotta say you guys knuckle down and always bring the fights, so much so you even pulled DB down a notch Respect.
Hard week for Mags however I’ve seen some really coordinated play from you guys so far so I’m excited to see what can show us through out the week.
While the game focuses on ppt, that doesn’t mean we have to play that way. Now might be a good time for some guilds to dust off the cobwebs and set up some GvG.
Lets have some good fights!

All champions in the game will drop a new loot container based on their type. For example, champion bandits will drop a new Embroidered Coin Purse which will contain a few silver, some karma, and crafting materials, with a chance at skill points, rare crafting materials, and new, rare weapon skins.
I am excited.
We talked about it in this thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/I-want-Creature-Comforts/first#post2537245
On my mesmer I can only use time warp or mass invisibility underwater, both of these skills are very SITUATIONAL making them useless most of the time. Having some basic utility in their place would be much more appropriate.
ANet does listen, it wasn’t on this list, however ties in with quality of life assurances that have been included in this thread:
When talking with friends or on ts3 I would refer to this as ‘skid damage’.
The reason there is no response to this I believe is that the coding is deep deep down there and to fix a ‘skid death’ would take more work than most of us imagine it.
Interesting idea, I wonder if there are any negatives to such an idea. It would help to scale back on the ‘Queensdale trio’.
IRL well that’s another discussion entirely.
Exactly. This isn’t real life, it’s a game, real life belongs in in the real world. People who come to a game and argue such seem to forget that games, to an extent, escape reality and not try to capture it further.
When 2 million Joes cannot afford dyes and skins that 100 Peters can solely based on one activity, there is a problem. Micro spills over into macro.
And that’s what people fail to see. Content, advertised as accessible to everyone (perhaps requiring a degree of player skill on the field or a form of progression) becomes more gated than the actual gated content itself.
Rewards/loot for general gaming does need changing/tweaking.
I don’t agree with the OP so much as agree with this. The example I use is legendary, where TP Flippers have admitted to having multiple legendary weapons and are deciding if they can be bothered starting their next one, and yet currently skillful players, who actually play the game may be nowhere near such things.
Players shouldn’t be encouraged to sit in Lion’s Arch and price gouge in order to make a profit. Players should be encouraged to on grand adventures and explore the world. This needs fixing.
Which is more to my point, but as has been said, is heading off topic.
(edited by SoPP.7034)
Time is not an investment, it is an expense.
And skill in actually playing the game? Or progression even, meaningful steps to achievement in PLAYING the actual game. You want real life, you should go back to it. This is a game and end game content shouldn’t be limited to those who enjoy flicking through spreadsheets.
If you want to make the most gold you will need to invest.
Sure you can make gold, but it’s not comparable. TP Flipping is the way to go, you can GRIND cof p1 but soon that will be stopped.
You talk about investment, what about investment into the game? Being good at PvP and WvW nets you nothing and we’ve already discussed PvE.
Obtaining a precursor for example is blind luck or having to pay TP Flippers over inflated prices for the privilege. Where’s the legendary in that? Nothing.
Inb4: Don’t like the system around TP Flipping, don’t get involved. Sure, but your missing the point. GW2 the game of spreadsheets? Please. TP Flippers have too much power over the market as it is.
You are however right about the game should be fun.
If you want to make decent money, don’t play the game, become a TP Flipper.
The only way to make decent money is to be a TP Flipper. You can atm GRIND cof p1, which will soon be stopped.
Players that have put in many hours into the game that have a great degree of skill on the field, who are very good at playing the game cannot generate the same kind of income as TP Flippers.
Acquiring precursors for example, invloves Blind luck or paying TP Flippers who inflate prices, where’s the legendary in that?
This is GW2, a game of PvE, PvP, WvW.
At what point did GW2 become SPREADHSEET wars?
The idea of TP purchased items being account bound sounds absolutely fine to me.
So were reduced to becoming TP Flippers to make gold. GW2 the game of spreadsheets…
I’m on 8000+ with no legendary.
While I would like to have and own a legendary the means of acquiring one, at least at this point in time, is in short, stupid.
Precursors for example are obtained through blind luck OR by accumulating a huge amount of cash by doing things like TP Flipping or grinding cof p1, which I do not care for.
You have your legendary? Congratulations, it was your choice, that is your reward. I sit on 8000+ AP with no legendary, that was my choice.
