rune of durability

I really don’t believe any of you people complaining about his actually play in WvW.

If and only IF EVERY party has 100% boon duration, if and only if EVERY party member is actually running these, that’s still only 10 seconds of resistance every 20 seconds. Not only that, you have no control of when it is applied. It’s asking a lot, i mean a lot, to have every party member traited and specced for this.

Again, stop kittening about theory. I’ve yet to see it used effectively in practice.

Things may be different over in America, but on the EU, tanky frontlines with Revs and Mesmers is a pretty common thing. Also, it takes very little effort to actually stack the 30 seconds of resistance, any monkey with half a brain can pull it off mid Empower.

Now, tell me one thing. Who’s gonna win when your (none resistance group) is trying to kill their backline, while their resistance group is going for yours? The group without the mesmer isn’t gonna hold up due to the constant pressure of chills/cripples etc… While the other groups just trains over the other, giving the backline little to no chance of getting into a safe position.
All that is theoretical ofc, yet still the point is still valid.

Sure, the rev will have resistance up 100%, but not any of the other party members. Show me a video of a decent fight with a non-rev with resistance up all the time.

Spurnshadow.3678

This is completely exaggerated.

I’ve yet to see 30 seconds of resistance. I WvW a ton. I know that theoretically, it’s possible, and sure, maybe under controlled circumstances with the ideal party comp and with your allies popping the right skills at the exact right time. But that almost never, ever happens in real world circumstances.

The other thing to keep in mind is that if you are running a frontline mesmer for boonshare and a Malix rev for resistance, then you have 2 fronline people doing no dps. I’ve tried these. A malix rev is doing nothing but spamming Pain Absorbtion. This means they have no energy to use any other high dps skills. Also, if they’re traited in corruption, they have to give up something else that has better dps or defensive aspects meaning they need to have more invested in defensive stats.

The same thing holds true for a mesmer. If their main purpose is boonshare, and veil, then they need to be within 600 units of their entire party. That means they need to be on tag and spec heavily into toughness/vitality. They also have some of the worst dps skills in the game. So, again, no dps.

If you haven’t gotten it, in order to accomplish this gimmick, one is sacrificing a lot of dps, and it’s almost impossible to pull off in a zerg fight. So, if a guild wants to do this, let them. It takes a lot of co-ordination to even accomplish anything close to 30 seconds of resistance. It’s not op at all. Wipe their backline, then they won’t be able to do anything. They’re still susceptible to direct damage and boonstrip/corruption.

Hardened Gates nerf, seriously?

Uh, have you actually played the game since the patch? I do between 8 and 15 damage to a T3 gate. That’s nothing. You’d be there for an hour with a zerg PvDing it.

I think this is a great change as it doesn’t make players totally dependent on siege. If a gate is almost down, and your rams are destroyed, this give the group the opportunity to try to finish it off, rather than leave, resupply, and try all over again. That’s boring. This is a much needed change.

If you don’t like the DBL, then don’t play that map. Easy. A lot of us miss it. We only got to play for a couple weeks with all the changes they made in the quarterly update. They put a lot of work into it, and frankly, I just can’t play ABL for another year or two if they did scrap DBL. So boring.

Possible issue with scoring changes

in WvW

Spurnshadow.3678

There was a recent poll and thread asking our feedback on possible changes to match scoring. Thanks a bunch for running this by the WvW community.

I’ve thought a lot about this and can’t forsee any issues off the bat. I do know that the big issue with run away scoring is PPT. PPT objectives definately needs to be weighted less, otherwise, the server with the most objectives just gets a passive score increase without doing anything. I think the proposed changes will help with that. In the end, it really is just something that will have to be implemented and find out how well it will work.

However, one thinig that is obvious is the way the glicko scoring works. Whatever new system is implemented, the purpose is to have closer matches. Because there will be a much smaller gap between the score of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, the glicko ratings will go up and down by a very small margin. This means that a server in overal 1st place will stay there for a longer time. More importantly, because there’s such a large gap in the rating between tiers, the matchups will probably never change.

With any change to the in-game match scoring system, a change and reset needs to be done to the overall, server placement, glicko scoring system.

Thanks

Thanks again for keeping the community in the loop!

  • Mixed Borderlands – Do you want a mix of Alpine/Desert Borderlands maps?
Yes, but only in a rotational sense. You guys made a lot of great changes on the 2nd quarterly update to the DBL. It’s a shame we only had a couple weeks to play on it. I’d love to see it back in the rotation soon. There is not enough population to fill 7 maps and the way the BLs are constructed requires 3 to be fair.
  • World Linking Schedule – How often should we relink worlds?
    Once a month
  • Deployable Mortars – Do you want to be able to buy and deploy Mortars?
    Absolutely not.
  • Deployable Cannons – Do you want to be able to buy and deploy Cannons?
Absolutely not. I’d quit the game if this came into being.
  • Repair Hammer – Do you want to be able to spend supply to repair siege?
    Yes

Special Mention

  • WvW Priorities – What do you want the WvW team to prioritize next?

Further improving the DBL. The oasis event was a flop. I still think that having a bloodlust mechanic, like in the ABL is great. It’s offeres an overall strategic depth to the game. I saw another post with the idea of putting a waypoint in the middle. Something like this could be great. Perhaps you’d need 2 people to channel a panel for 10 seconds to activate the waypoint, and it would only stay open for 5 minutes. There’s no reason you couldn’t have both the above ideas.

The towers do need to have some more strategic importance other than PPT. They made sense back in beta when the barricades were linked to the towers and upgraded with them. I liked those. However, it became irrelevant when the barricades became trash, and now, eliminated all together.

Perhaps there could be launchpads that would propel players to one or more locations in the map. Having them moved closer to the middle of the map would help too.

Alpine Border Land Back - Spawn Treb Bug

The spawn treb is definitely an exploit. It is dropping siege that players can not get to.

While I do appreciate bringing back the alpine for the variety, the DBL is a great map with the changes you guys made in the last quarterly update. I know a lot of people who prefer the DBL, and many who just don’t care. Most of these folks just aren’t going to come here and be a forum warrior to fight the very angry people who just hate DBL, post multiple times per day saying so, and will never be able to have their minds swayed.

Keeping these two in rotation will help keep WvW varied and interesting. Keep up the great work in WvW.

Boy, another one of these threads. I have my opinion, and it really doesn’t matter.

I would like to clarify some things though: many people do log in to EB just to duel, and yes, some are set up, planned, or people know they will be there, or they’re on friends lists, etc. Yes, EB was a good place to go because the game mode was dying. This last quarterly patch has breathed a great amount of fresh air back into the game and it isn’t dying anymore. Tons of people have and are coming back. Much of this debate depends on which server you’re on, as there are different population issues and different dueling guilds on different servers.

ArenaNet needs to quickly roll out the alpine borderlands. It would alleviate many of the concerns on this forum right now.

Speak for yourself.

My server seems to be enjoying DBL much more now. Anet, I hope you realize that there seems to be just a hand-full of people that continually hate the DBLs and do nothing but create post after post on the forums to try to get y’all to bring back alpine. While it’s always nice to have variety, I really don’t hear a bunch of whining in TS from people, pining for the day when Alpine comes back.

Do you still hate the Desert BL after patch?

in WvW

Posted by: Spurnshadow.3678

Spurnshadow.3678

I like DBL much better now. Much more fun to play on. I’m frankly amazed that they took the time to change the map at all, let alone to the extent that they did. There are a ton of little tweeks and changes that makes all the world of difference. For example, adding all the extra steps all around fire keep.

Better than ABL? dunno. just different. I think that ABL is much more drab and boring in comparison, but the keep lord rooms, while plainer, are more about fighting players rather than PvE mechanics, which is anathema to WvW. I do miss the bloodlust mechanic, however; that added a greater strategic dimension to the match and maps. DBLs need something like this in the middle (not oasis event).

I’m not quite done reading the patch notes, but there are just so many changes that reflect what we’ve been asking for. I never thought you guys would have gotten out so much so soon (I do realize that some of it is beta, but still). Reward tracts, some good ideas for stability issues, possible good solutions to population (sounds like an idea first proposed about 2.5 years ago), even a slant on one of my ideas for player effects, DBL reworks, scribing issues addressed, lots of great stuff.

Tons and tons more for the other areas of the game I don’t really touch, but I’m sure its good

I haven’t played for 3 or 4 months, but in looking at these notes, I’m probably gonna pick up GW2 again soon.

The real problem is Mike O’Brien, who infamously called all WvW players PvE players.

Yeah, that’s a biggy. I can only hope that he meant something other than he said.

I play PVE and I play WvW. It doesn’t mean I want duels in pve or PVE events in WvW.

Nope, that’s pretty much exactly what he meant. If you watch the whole clip and see more of the context, he thinks that WvWers do all aspects of the game. He’s hoping to win more people over to PvE by it’s awesomeness. I personally feel this is why they moved reset to Saturday and never moved it back to Friday: to force people into PvE. Reanna immediately responds with how she only logs in to WvW as well as others, and he seems stumped. It’s funny, because if you watch the other guy in the clip, I forget his name off the top of my head, he looks mortified and buts in to try to backtrack.

WvW on the right path - Thank you devs

Posted by: Spurnshadow.3678

Spurnshadow.3678

We’ve had CDI’s (or whatever they were called) for WvW over a year ago? We’ve had adopt a dev. We’ve had multiple years of constructive, good feedback mixed in amongst the vitriol.

Unfortunaltey, there have been so many good players and WvW guilds that have left, that the quality of the feedback they will get now will be from casual players. There are very few quality WvW guilds, and when I say quality, I mean guilds that run with specific builds, specific group comp, are able to follow directions, stay on the tag, move as a unit and understand this is a team sport.

The new maps are the least of the problems. Some of you have been doing nothing but kittening about them endlessly and whenever you can. We see you. You are a minority. People have accepted the new maps. Yes, they have their issues, but the players that are left are either dedicated WvWers or casuals who don’t care or know any better. They just want to play the game.

The bigger issues are population imbalance, lack of population, power creep, class imbalance, the pve grind needed to unlock your elite (there are a lot of WvWers that hate pve and just won’t do it), and the astronomical cost and grind to upgrade your guild to be competative (this is a hugekitten that favors big pvx guilds over small and medium WvW guilds.

I know guilds that didn’t even play for more than a week after HoT came out because of the above issues. People don’t complain much about these issues because they know Anet doesn’t listen and will do what they want. They’re not forum warriors, they’re gamers.

And along the lines of forum warriors, I’ve gotten a lot of infractions lately for speaking my mind. My posts have been deleted and my forum account suspened. This lack of freedom of speech has done a lot to drive me away from the game as well as the game itself. Not only does it show that I can’t speak my mind, but that someone is reading the forums. Also, if you notice, the forums have also a lot less activity. The replies are over 24 hours in the threads that are on the bottom of page 1. This forum used to be so active that you wouldn’t see that until the bottom of page 2 or top of 3.

I myself, and others, have posted some excellent ideas about how to fix population issues and maps 2 years ago. Let that sink in. 2 years. We’ve known about the populations problems starting that long ago.

(BTW, just gonna re-iterate one of my ideas here. Skip to the next paragraph if you don’t care. One of the issues is the current meta. There isn’t enough of a population to fill 3 maps of the same type that holds 240 people. There should just be tri-balanced maps like EB and EotM designed. Also, they should have different sizes and design them to different populations. EB is for 360 (120 per side). Future, tri-balanced maps should be made for 80 per side, 60, and 40. If there are ques on every map, then a low population map instance will open up. Their sizes and objectives should reflect that. Eliminate all servers and create 6 or 9 brand new ones with new names for new server identiy. Anyway, you get the idea hopefully. Search my history for more details if you actually give a crap)

I’ll believe it when I see it.

I see some of y’all posting here all the time asking to bringe alpine back. We get it. You don’t like the new map. But the reality is people just want to play. In Blackgate, sure, you get a few complainers, but people go out there and play. Yeah, we don’t like the Oasis event, and the lag it creates, but we just want to play. We can still get fights, ppt, or whatever on the new maps.

For me, and others I know for a fact that includes whole guilds, the game breaking issue is the class balance, power creep, and stability issues, gimmick like banners, airship drop, and cloaking waters. These things make the game not fun On the desert bl, you still find fights, but when you get into a fight, you can get one shot (depending on the class), stunned to death, pirate ship, yadda, yadda, yadda. Pick your poison.

The arena is not as much of an issue as the mechanics to fighting in the arena.

It may be entirely possible that hammer trains were unstoppable in the past, but I do recall pirate shipping already being a thing before the stability change. I understand CC should have value, and maybe you felt left out.

But….

Can anyone clear me on any sources…..

Was any of this intended for World vs World? Did they actually say something on the lines that stability and trains were too strong in WvW? Do you think the stacks of stability granted per skill was considered?

The way I see it, it seems to be centered around PvP and WvW just seems (as usual) as collateral damage. I don’t find that particularly sound even if there are arguments in favor of this.

I think the stab change was two fold, but since esports is getting so much attention (heh) the change was probably primarily focused around that.
Arent you supposed to defend anet with that forum specialist title?

The stab change was purely for WvW.

sPvP has felt no change from the stab skill except for pulsing 1 stack stability. You can’t stun an enemy with 5 stability stacks unless the team is all hammer warriors and the player doesn’t dodge anything.

The stab change was to reflect developing new CC system with break bars seen on NPC bosses and to coexist with upcoming pulsing stability changes with HoT stuff (reaper’s shroud stability for example)… at least that’s what I think
…and as runeblade mentioned, this change did not have significant impact in sPvP, but it changed WvW very much…

You are correct. The stab change was for PvE monsters. They made a big to do about it when they introduced the wyvern at like the beginning of last year.

Gunflame needs adjusting

in WvW

Posted by: Spurnshadow.3678

Spurnshadow.3678

This skill sheds light on the fundamental issue that Anet has with all WvW and PvP. Complete imbalance.

All this was predicted way before they even released HoT. When they gave us previews of the spec, it was pretty obvious. This game has become so unbalanced. There is no way one skill, like killshot, gunflame, CoR, or whatever should one shot anyone at full health. That, to me, is the very definition of inbalance. My glass thief sits at around 14K. I have 2 dps guards. They sit at around 15K and 16K. My dps ele is at around 16K. This skill, and others can intantly kill them. How is that fair? How is that balance?

Many have said it’s a l2p issue. It isn’t. Sure you can dodge, but then what? Gunflame and CoR are so op, not only because they hit so hard, but becuase they’re on 4 second CDs. When a skill hits that hard, and so quickly, it’s usually whoever attacks first, wins. How is that goood gameplay? Where’s the back and forth? Without buffs to the base health and toughness, there’s no chance to recover or utilize your classes skills.

And just to further demonstrate this mentality, someone thought it was a good idea to put a one shot skill in the game that can kill 240 people.

Vitality and toughness needs to be pumped up across the board.

Your problems really seems to be that you don’t know how to counter it. I would defer you to the many posts above that shed light on this. If you seek more info, just go to your class subsection and ask for help there.

There is no counter to something that can effectively one shot from a very long range. The counter is to run a completely different class, get used to occasionally dying to it or wait out an inevitable nerf which could take months. I have already adjusted to the heavy bunker Tempest and trapper Dragon Hunter meta (as in avoid it) as well as pre-CoR double hits. I will adjust to this as well… just sucks that clearly ANet kittened this one.

Why would it get a nerf? It just got a buff a few weeks ago.

There’s been a huge power creep in this game going on for almost a year now with the changes anet has made to the base mechanics. This has been made worse with the new classes. The big problem is that the defensive side of things, namely toughness and stability / anti CC has stayed in place or gotten worse. So, yes, lots of things need nerfs. That or they need to buff toughness/vit and rework the stability/CC mechanics.

A.net thank you, but it’s too late. the damage is already done.

No joke. I know decorations are crazy, but they’re optional. For us WvWers, scribing and guild hall unlocks for WvW buffs and items are mandatory. We’ve been rushing our butts off trying to get things unlocked as fast as possible. This is why the larger, more richer guilds have advantages over smaller or medium guilds. There are quite a few who’ve unlocked presense of the keep, +5 supply, airship barrage, or whatever it’s called, emergency waypoint, the mining upgrades needed for that stuff, and the scribes needed to craft those things. That’s thousands of gold.

That means either he just made coffee breaks 75% of the time or something about their code is severely broken which makes changes take for ever.

He also said that it took them 5 years to develop WvW. 5 years? Seriously? And what launched was a culling, lagfest nightmare consisting of 2 maps? Whoever was in charge of that and worked on that needs to never be in the industry again if that’s what came out of 5 years worth of work. It takes about 1.5 to 2 years to make a multi-million dollar movie.

I would like to say I’ve seen a lot of “the sky is falling” comments. This last patch helped a lot by getting rid of automatic upgrades and nerfing the banner.

The development time for Diablo III started in 2001 and was not released until 2012. This game is not an MMO which are much harder to balance in game terms. Nor does it have a WvW component involving hundreds of players interacting with one another on an ongoing basis.

Elder scrolls online took a full seven years of development time and did not enjoy a smooth launch.

As you seem to be an authority on game development, could you direct me to games that you have designed and developed? I will give them a try!

WvW too friendly to attackers

Spurnshadow.3678

Sureeee.., I’m doing it wrong LOL. Well these replies reinforce my argument, they show that attackers like to cap with a minimum of effort and skill and want it kept that way. I do agree that being a lone defender is a disadvantage, my point after 3 yrs of doing an excellent job of it I know what to do and it has become harder. Another disadvantage for my server is the devastation it suffered from fighting between transferred DB guilds and native players unwilling to accept them. We lost many guilds that worked as partners, my own guild transferred and at the advice of one of our main troublemakers went so far as to form a new guild to seperate those of us who stayed. The problem players from both sides are now mostly gone and we are rebuilding but are left with players who seem to think its better to hold 1 Keep in EB then rush to defend 3 in BL, opting instead to backcap. So yes I guess because I solo defend I’m doing it wrong in your view. My argument still stands correct tho, and that which I described have made defending much harder now and attacking much easier… unless the attackers are doing it wrong.

Your issue is your servers population, not the mechanics of defending/attacking.

I don’t think you guys intended the .05 second thing to affect different players. But in WvW, where you have massive battles, and lots of players throwing their skills around, you are bound to get hit by CoR multiple times. And that’s just a pug blob. A co-ordinated group will time their attacks properly to maximize damage. This change eliminates that. No one will play a rev in WvW if their big attack is completely negated because someone else happened to do the same attack at the same time. Better to just play any other class in the game where this doesn’t happen.

If this WAS your intention, shame on you. But if your intention was to eliminate the double hit from standing on top of two different zones of CoR thrown by one guy, then you need to come up with a different solution ASAP.

People are still K-training, not leaving scouts, and not having roaming parties to keep the camps and yaks secure.

So, protect your camps.

I think this is to prevent the double hit from the 3 areas that CoR has cast by one CoR. Not 2 players hitting the same guy with CoR. Otherwise, it would be the only skill in the game that does that.

Is this really that big of a deal? Someone above said it just right. It’s character progression, not account progression. If you have your masteries unlocked, it takes about 2 hours to get all your elite done in Verdant Brink, Auric Basin, and a few left for DS or TD. If not, and you don’t care, take the casual route with WvW. Got your elite unocked? Buy siege and give it to your guild, another guild, or just sell the stuff. Free gold! Hey, somehting that WvWers have been complaining about for years. They listened, and gave us some more rewards.

You’re an idiot.

when I log in its with a guild full of people ready to play together

And there’s the key. A WvW guild of maybe 50-100 with 10-20 active players are still trying to unlock +5 supply, let alone baners, et. al.. Why? Cause they don’t PvP or PvE. They don’t make a lot of gold. A fellow guildie just recently went to the silverwastes with a couple of us to get shovels and sand for our mine upgrade. He was level 1. He didn’t know anything about masteries. He’d never been to the silverwastes. Some poeple only WvW. I’ve seen PvX guilds with 200 players, and maybe 35 on an active night able to unlock tons of stuff. They have tons of gold. And you can’t tell me that SM airstrike isn’t OP and requires nothing to learn. You pull a lever, and it hits everything in SM, pretty much one shotting almost everyone. Counter that.

[Suggestion] Decorations and Scribe

“12. Decrease number of decorations needed for upgraded versions (e.g. Block Topiary needs six Sphere Topiary).
13. Decrease requirements for Decoration Merchant and Guild Trader, so even the small guilds will be able to use all basic decoration.”

This most of all. Decorations are insanely expensive due to higher level needing multiples of the one below. This creates an exponential cascade of materials needed. And due to many decorations being locked behind the merchant, that is an added expense that prevents many guilds from acquiring them, especially if they are prioritizing something else, like PvP or WvW.

I love looking at this. It’s so fascinating. I particularly noticed T3, which still has a lot of activity. All 3 of the BLs, as of this writing, Wednesday afternoon, has 15% of the activity of EB.

I think this also proves one can do away with the bottom 3 tiers.

Stability vs. Confusion

in WvW

Spurnshadow.3678

OK, let me try to get this back on track. The whole point is that Anet decided to nerf confusion because they thought it was very detrimental to the game. Not by 10%, 25%, but by a whopping 50%.

That was one aspect of the game that was used by primarily one class with one build. The whole point of this thread is that CCs are used by every class, and kills people with little or no defense. There is so much CC thrown around that it strips lots of stability in a split second and there’s no recourse left but to die. If that’s not worse than what confusion used to be, than I don’t know what is. And I’m very confused as to why Anet has let CC go on as long as it has. That is the point to my OP.

Too hard to answer this question because there needs to be more information. What are you doing in WvW? Running around solo? Running in a small havoc group? Group of 10-20, 20-30, blobbing, pick team, etc.? Are you running with a guild group where you can complement your team mates with your build and they complement you? Are you running with a bunch of pugs who are running selfish builds? What types of enemy are you facing?

Look, when I command, most of the time, I don’t care about the duelers. But really, if it’s red, it’s dead. You can’t complain that you might get killed if fighting in an open world pvp zone. The exceptions, for me, are those duelers who also play pick, or constantly tap the keeps, or sometimes spawn camp. If I see them dueling, I’ll kill them.

They seemed very passionate about the intensity, the importance of commanders, and how important group composition and teamwork is to WvW. Strange how they implemented changes like nerfing stability, implementing banners and air strikes that seem to destroy those aspects of the game.

Stability vs. Confusion

So, I hate the Mid-March, 2015 stability change. And here’s something that occurred to me.

Way back, confusion mesmers used to be really good.

This double standard is just beyond me.

Condi mesmer’s have ALWAYS <—————- been broken.

I mean seriously. I agree crowd control is a bit rampant atm, but comparing cc to the good old PU condi mesmer is… just…. wrong. haha

btw, have you played chrono condi lately? I went and tried it to see if its as overpowered as the old PU builds.

Its worse. By far the most forgiving build that I have ever played. On top of that it can outspike some burst classes in terms of damage. And its condi.

I wouldn’t mind if stab got buffed, as i play a teef, and never can use it anyway. But condi mes was a bad example. It needed a nerf back in the day. It needs a nerf now more than ever. I dont need to work for a win when im plaing condi chrono, no build should be able to hold a 3v1 against good players with ease. Particularly me, as I barely know how to play mes.

Sorry if that was ranty (it was) just a tad annoyed at how unbalanced the game is atm, and how players who haven’t gone #pay2win will always be at a disadvantage against elite specs.

Yeah, my post went totally over your head.

Excellent post.

Funny, I just made a topic myself about stability just before I read this. Was just fed up after tonight’s reset.

The power creep has been happening before HoT. It started with guard stacks. HoT brings it over the top, becuase the damage co-efficient is so much higher on the elite skills over older skills. So many people complain about CoR, and rightly so, but the auto attack is very high, too. It’s on par with some of the other classes auto-attack (not all, it’s among the highest), but the revenant has the benefit of heavy armor and amazing defenses.

So, I hate the Mid-March, 2015 stability change. And here’s something that occurred to me.

Way back, confusion mesmers used to be really good. The trait system synergized well with glamours and blinds, etc. I’d say most people didn’t really have an issue with it, but a lot did. Many thought this was OP, but really, you didn’t take any damage unless you were a skill spammer, or your group just didn’t have any cleanses. Bleeding did way more damage with the exact same amount of condi damage, but whatever.

Whether you think this was OP or not, it doesn’t matter for my point; Anet decided to nerf confusion, by a whopping 50%. That’s huge. It basically meant that condi mesmers were dead. Killed almost the whole class.

Now, I think that CCs are OP. What other type of skill, like guardian longbow 5, keeps you isolated, in one spot, for 4 seconds, or Dragon Maw which keeps you trapped for 6 seconds, or Gravity Well, for 3 seconds, or static field, now used by 2 classes , for 3 seconds, or… the list goes on and on. All the while, you’re being pelted with massive damage, and unable to do anyting about it, unless you have stability. And even if you do have stability, it’s probably gone in a split second. Not every class has a blink, and not every class, or build, has a lot of stability available to them, especially backline builds, which try to focus more on dps.

So, CCs, as it stands now, can kill you, due to very little fault of your own, but the old confusion didn’t do squat to you, unless you spammed a ton of skills (or a flame thrower engi) which punished bad playing. So why isn’t CC being nerfed? It shoud, shouldn’t – it? (dash inserted to keep the filter from changing it to kitten)

Well, that would be a reall pain in the kitten to do. What would be better? Hmm… Let me think… Oh, how about buff stability? Brilliant. Instead of going into every class and reworking every CC skill, just revert one buff to how it used to work which is already coded into the game.

This double standard is just beyond me.

Requesting Feature: Private Commander Tag

in WvW

Posted by: Spurnshadow.3678

Spurnshadow.3678

We’ve avoided adding this feature because we don’t believe it would be healthy for WvW. While we can appreciate why some players would want a feature like this, lots of other players only engage in WvW when, upon entering a WvW map, immediately see a commander icon to follow. We try and avoid adding features that can be used to intentionally exclude other players.

That seems kind of silly. Tagless commanders happen even without private commander tags. To make matters worse, by not having that them, you’re setting up a toxic environment. Commanders that are trying to run a private raid to have more even fights are having to yell at people in say chat and whispers asking them to go to the other tag. Besides that though, this is a tool that could be extremely beneficial to more than just WvW commanders. Think of havoc groups and how amazing that could be to them or simply guild’s doing missions or just little unique activities.

This too. 15 characters.
