I’m pretty sure it’s a technical limitation. Once you update to a new build you’re segregated from the old one. The new and old build run simultaneously for a while until everyone currently online updates.
At least, that’s how I understand it.
We all know that ILeap still has lots of issues with actually closing the gap. The clone doesn’t always reach the target etc.
But I noticed that it’s cooldown still seems to be unaffected by the blade training. This seems like it would take all of 3 seconds to fix, yet it goes uncorrected? Or can we expect to see another change to the tooltip for ILeap like that hilarious blur effect?
Judging from how Anet has handled mesmer in the past… Bringing up this bug will result in Anet “fixing” Chaos Armor by removing the protection from the staff skill. I urge you to delete all of this asap.
Ha, this guy.
Probably along the same line of thinking as the wars that slash at mesmers in their dungeons groups or that rage quit as they get a pike in the face from a mesmer. Those butterflies are rage inducing. For that alone mesmer is win.
Anet should just allow ppl to join in as range only… 1-9, 10-19, 20-29 like that. It should help screening players for each level a bit while still give player freedom.
I agree on this. I thought it was going to work like that anyway, but I was disappointed to see it does not. The bottleneck around the “9” levels wouldn’t be so bad anyway. People grind those to uprank faster now. (3 fractals instead of 4 on even fractals.)
Welp, I just upgraded my to the infused version. (It looks awesome.
) I hope it stays the way it is. It was only 81 gold. I got my ecto from a buddy in my trading guild. Saved a lot.
Well, in the swamp fractal you should know to be using portal and marking your portal with a waypoint on the minimap. (Alt + Click) Your response to someone telling you to do it should be “I’m already on it. Here’s how it’s gonna go….”
Take charge. Portal is the most efficient means to doing the swamp fractal. Why would you not use it?
(Also, if they don’t want to use portal you should probably just leave. Chances are they’re going to drive you to a rage quit later with other inefficient and silly tactics.)
Get decoy. It helps fill in the gaps while kiting in PvE. It’s a great skill all around.
So, apparently there’s a karma item that allows you to use an Asuran Hazmat Suit somewhere in the world.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hazmat_Suit
But all I’ve been able to find is the transformation potion. The hazmat suit itself is nowhere to be found. The transformation doesn’t allow you to use skills of any kind so it’s not quite what I’m looking for.
Has anyone seen this item? My Human Mesmer has an affinity for Asuran tech so he’d love to have a few on hand.
Please don’t join a group for it unless you have….
1) A thorough knowledge of each fractal and it’s mechanics – You have 25 or so levels to learn this stuff. You should by now or you should go back and learn it. Don’t try to learn the basics half way up the ranks!
2) Full exotic/ascended gear – This is a dungeon designed for endgame players. Don’t come in your greens.
3) Food buffs – They’re cheap and easy to obtain. If you’re not using them you’re wasting an opportunity and lowering our efficiency.
4) At least 15 AR. Please. Please don’t make us carry you.
This isn’t even close to as hard as it gets, let’s not make it into an ordeal. For some reason a lot of lowbies think they can jump right into this. You can’t, you should move up naturally. Rushing only makes it worse for us all.
Lmao, 140g and 400g. Yeah, reasonable prices. Just stop it. You simply want your items to remain exclusive. Admit it and save some face.
No, I don’t want every new FotM player running around with one.
No lies. No cover. That’s why.
Meh they’re both pretty easy honestly. I can still feedback the bombs, but they do no damage. The circles appear but they don’t damage teammates. (As far as I could tell anyway.)
Ice elem is pretty easy too. But I killed it when it was bugged so idk. It was too hard for average pugs in it’s bugged state. I just got an awesome group one time.
There is nothing wrong with the precursor rate. Go work for your items.
I think this guy got his first legendary in Dec. Lmao. Early adopters are so funny.
I would be perfectly fine if the precursor was collectable by doing WvW, dungeons, map completion or what ever. Right now you can only get it by gambling or using the trading post. I won’t talk about the luck to get a precursor from one of the chests or mobs in the game, as this chance is like 0,00000000000001% or something.
No no no, you can get it from the forge, right now, for free! That’s why I’m almost 200g poorer than when I started this process.
As far as the ability to convert gold to gems… it was added to the game for two reasons.
1. It make the gem store more tenable. You are able to write off the concerns of people that normally would have an issue with mircotransactions on the basis of converting gold to gems.
2. People that buy anything from the gem store are much more likely to spend money in it. So simply trading gold to gems has you use the gem stores features. This makes you more likely to spend money on items in the gem store later.
Part 1 is common sense. Part 2 I read about in some paper on game design. It wasn’t specific to GW2. I have no sources for either. Take it or leave it, I don’t care.
Hey everyone, I’m here to help clear up some of the confusion on this issue!
First, our apologies for the inaccurate response: your system clock does not affect your loot drops (sorry, conspiracy theorists). We’ve corrected this information for future responses.
If you’re not receiving loot from a champ/vet, it’s most likely because you’re not getting kill credit. We’re currently working on some improvements to this so that it will be easier to get rewards when you kill a creature.
Thank you for bringing this up!
You’re incorrect on the last part, I’m afraid. For example, the champ event after plinx. I seldom get a drop from it even when I get a medal for helping. I seriously spend five or so minutes killing it to get no loot. I don’t think it’s just kill credit that’s the issue.
DR should not effect fractals.
Affect*. You’re welcome
>.< Who cares?
As a representative of a company, I should care care to use proper affect and effect. It’s kind of like messing up with you’re and your…
Well you’re in really bad shape with the RNG comment then.
We all know the intent behind your words. That’s what matters.
Awesome, thank you very much. Yeah, I feel the same as you on the upgrade components. I certainly hope it remains the same. It’s not unreasonable for the skin you get.
The fact that they let your character max all crafts hurt this game a lot. No need to specialize means you have everyone being able to craft for themselves. Why buy what you can make?
DR should not effect fractals.
Affect*. You’re welcome
>.< Who cares?
Nothing is going to change anytime soon. Casuals don’t care as they’d never attempt a legendary, Anet doesn’t care because it has your money, and legendary holders don’t care since they bought/exploited their precursor already. The only ones that care are the small population that didn’t rush to the game’s end to take advantage of low prices and no DR. So suck it up.
No one is going to do anything about it anytime soon.
Either way, the harpy knockback took my favorite fractal and made it my least. It’s not challenging or hard it’s just annoying.
You know the dev that built this had to intend it to troll us just a little.
(edited by SteepledHat.1345)
Well, rares are super common to people that grind CoF, but you don’t have people calling for rares to only drop, at most, one ecto.
Three days of doing CoF, I can feel half a bank tab with rares you know…
Is there any difference in the appearance of the Prototype and Beta Fractal Capacitors? I’ve also heard they’re considering lowering the material reqs on these back pieces. (I certainly hope not.) Is there any truth to that rumor?
I find that this fractals design is contrary to the no res-rushing policy they’re moving towards now. Res rushing is, in fact, how this fractal is handled.
I used to laugh at the guys that race through content. This situation is why the do that. I’ll remember it in the future.
Clearly the answer to your last question is yes. Just get over it or start looking for another game. Make sure you race to the end of your new game asap so you can get a fair shake at the endgame.
Also, I was told there’s currently an exploit allowing you to not pay a listing fee. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I saw something on the forums about it.
That’s it guys. The requirements aren’t unreasonable you’re just doing it wrong. Go grind CoF until you have your 500+ gold. Other people can do it so can you.
There is no problem here.
Really? It’s a bug?
It’s what common graphing applications do with missing data when plotting a time series. GW2Spidy does the exact same thing when it has downtime (like, well, earlier today).
“gradient”
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Lmao, if you guys want to get all particular. Take the gradient of a line in two dimensions.
It’s silly to argue over this. Anyone with some mathematics background knew what he said.
Duels should have shipped with this game. How can you learn to counter in a 1v1 if you can’t practice? Hell, if they aren’t going to give us a LFG tool they could at least let us duel in the meantime.
They wont make money from a dueling option like something you can do in open world, anywhere, so they will add private servers, which gets them money..
Yes it’s sad
We don’t know this for sure. Have they said anything on scraping open world dueling? I think this arena thing is just an attempt to save their dying SPvP format.
Esc, Options, graphics options, Hide Dueling Players in Cities – Check
Now everyone is happy.
It’s super fricking boring. <- My main observation.
You can’t report people for playing the game poorly. It’s a terrible idea. They always have deniable culpability. So they’ll never be punished. (And they shouldn’t be.) Even if they do it over and over and over….
You can’t dictate how they play even if it effects the outcome of WvW. It’s a slippery slope.
Welp, I read the whole thread and my opinion hasn’t changed. Learn to look at your condition bar and cleanse confusion. It’s really not hard. I think we have some perma-noobs in here.
Lmao, you guys really can’t expect them to do anything about this right? I mean there is nothing at all they can do. You just have to deal with it.
Hm, maybe you should carry some condition removal in the zerg and pay attention to something besides your 1 button. Confusion punishes bads for being bad. Cleanse or fall.
Yep, I always have to check the buy option to see if they’re trying to convince folks to quick sell. It’s tedious.
In my 200 so far fractals, I’ve run into 2 bad pugs. 1 in a 100 isn’t so bad. Most of the time complainers like this are just scrubs that whine if everything isn’t done in the fastest most efficient way ever. I’m sure they’re always polite and supportive of their teammates….
Sorry, to drive it off topic. He managed to goad a response out of me.
What a very long winded way of insulting me. It has nothing to do with feeling small or impotent (I do wonder if you might be projecting there.) and has everything to do with recognizing achievement. Rewards that show you did something. It does distinguish you from others. It offers a sense of progression and achievement. You’d like to sully that by making it more accessible. It’s in accessibility is why it has prestige. I really don’t see how this view is anything but natural. It doesn’t mean I’m a better player, just that I accomplished a particular goal. The suggestion of making them buyable with relics moves the goal post far to close to the starting point and therefore lowers the associated prestige.
Now go insult someone else.

Most people won’t share theirs if they have a good set up. I won’t stay unique if I tell you what I wear, you know.
I agree. Knight’s gear and several other spreads are strangely missing. This has lead me to modify my build. It’s a bit annoying, but I was able to manage.
My main issue with this concept art is that the beast of burden in question appears to be a horse. Yet, I’ve failed to see a horse in all of tyria. (I have my world completion, so I’d have seen them if they were there.)
This leads me to only one conclusion. That is not a horse….
It’s a centaur.
The centaur are finally going to be enslaved and used in place of horses. Their struggles will make up the bulk of the flame and frost content. It’s a sad day in Tyria…
Yeah, a guy in one of my lv 24 groups had a vial drop for him too. I thought that wasn’t supposed to happen.
You make them buyable and suddenly every low level fractal player grinds them out. They’d be everywhere.
For the past week or so, I’ve been working on moving up in fractals. I’m in the mid 20s now, and I have to say I’m not impressed with loot drops. It’s probably just bad luck on my end, but I wanted to check anyway. How good is the loot in higher level fractals. I’m talking 40+. Is it really “raining rares and exotics” as I’ve had one person describe it?
Honestly, I feel like my loot drops were better in the lower levels, but, as I said, it’s probably just my bad luck.
Good god, the mesmer hate from some of these guys is hilarious. I love playing the troll class.
Nerf shatter to oblivion and we’ll just keep killing you with another build. It really is just a matter of learning to play.
Why ever would you all have issues gathering more players? I can’t possibly imagine why.
