What Bone Pick?
Can you include links to what you are talking about please?

Thank you for that. I hadn’t loaded up my client yet today so was not aware that they updated the news feed. I thought you were referencing an item being released in the Twilight Assault release that you found out about at a place other than the Release page for TA.

I hope Scarlet IS the buildup for the release and debut of some yet unknown mechano-dragon. We’ve got Zhaitan, dragon of undead, Jormag of ice, and some other themed dragons, but we’ve got all these weird mechanical creatures running around that has even some of the characters in game curious as to their purpose and origin. We need a mechanical dragon
I don’t think Guild Wars 2 needs a Mechagodzilla. It’d be cool to fight a robo-dragon, but not in Guild Wars 2. They’ve already thrown in too much technology where there shouldn’t be and not enough where there should be.
Is it possible that the teeth cannot be interacted with if you are technically in combat?
In the case of the under water tooth in Sparkfly Fen, when I got the tooth under water I was sure to kill any creatures in the area as there was an issue of my going into combat near that under water tooth, though neither myself nor my pet was attacking anything and nothing was attacking us. Killing everything in the area caused me to not be marked as being in combat and I could interact with the tooth normally then.
Can you see if you are being marked as being in combat near that tooth and that this is preventing your interacting with it? Then removing any enemies in the area that may cause you to enter combat to see if this enables interaction again?
It appears to be game-wide and not world specific then.
It is possible that this issue came about when they fixed the bug that caused players to see everyone else with their weapons drawn at all times. It seems likely that the related issue of miniatures with weapons always having their weapons sheathed came about at the same time as the ‘player weapons always unsheathed’ issue was fixed. This issue will likely also be fixed soon as a dev stated they were looking into the miniature’s weapons sheathed issue. Fixing one will likely fix both if they are, indeed, related.
Had you entered the Super Adventure Box after activating those buffs?
Entering SAB removes all boons/buffs currently active on the character that enters.
They had responded saying that the issue with Radiant Armor and the Juggernaut was in their tracker a little over a month ago. Radiant armor also causes a lot of problems with several other game elements, especially skill effects (phantasms, spectral walk, stealth, etc). I’m hoping we will see the Radiant issues resolved in the big October update.
I believe you are saying that the other co-founder is the one with the actual title of ‘Guild Leader’ and that you hold a rank that has all permissions enabled for it?
If the other co-founder is technically holding the ‘Guild Leader’ rank, have them un-check and re-check the Withdraw Permissions on your rank. Or if you are able to do it yourself then try it. Perhaps it is showing it as checked but it is bugged and isn’t actually checked.
This has been previously reported in the sticky thread titled Issues with character art, weapons, or armor. It seems to have been forwarded to the appropriate person to fix down the road, though I agree with you that it should take priority over non-premium skin issues in their list of corrections to make.

Can someone with Pillaging Recipes in their ‘Tailoring’ recipe list please be so kind as to include a screenshot with them still in the list to show that they had not been switched over to Hunter’s Recipes as the patch notes stated.
Meteorlogicus has been responded to as being added to their tracker with the other legendary bugs, it was just not responded to in this specific thread.
You can always check my “Tracker – Living World/Game Update Bugs” thread to see the status on any issue. Maybe bookmark it. If you know of an issue not on the list or of an issue on the list that has been fixed, please respond and inform me of it so I can add the new bug to the list or remove a fixed bug from it.
We have this issue in our tracker, but unfortunately I don’t have any sort of ETA on when it will be fixed.
Thank you for your patience!
OK, when there is a bugged Greatsword, its in your tracker, but what about bugged Meteorlogicus, its too in your tracker? Please answer

I was thinking the same thing. Why no response to Meteorlogicus’ obvious bugs? Can’t you at least let us know if you’re aware of the bugs or not and if you plan to do anything?

Hey Stinvec,
In response to your last post, we have the issues with Meteorlogicus, Moot, and Eternity in the tracker.
As always, thank you for your continued participation in the bug forums. I really appreciate it.
That is very awesome to hear! Thank you for taking the time to let us know. I wasn’t certain if Meteorlogicus was included in your statement of those items being added to your tracker. Also, as that thread did not specifically mention Eternity or Moot, I didn’t want to incorrectly mark them as having been acknowledged as bugs or responded to if they actually weren’t. I’m sure Legendary owners will be very excited to know that they are going to be looked at as well.
Also, if you happen to see this request, would you please consider looking into the possibility of having bugs that get fixed yet are not included in patch notes, actually getting listed in future patch notes? I know that I eagerly look forward to reading patch notes, and that there are many people who would really like to be informed of a bug being fixed if/when it is fixed, even if it is a minor one. The excitement felt upon reading patch notes while downloading an update and seeing that a certain bug/clipping/glitch that has ‘bugged’ you has been listed as having been fixed…very few things are comparable, at least to me. It’s the little things, you know? This would also really help to show that minor bugs, armor clipping, terrain glitches and text corrections truly are being fixed, even if they aren’t of the highest importance to most. I think the community would develop a more positive view of ArenaNet and the bug fixing team(s) by being able to readily see that many things beyond what is normally included in patch notes truly are being fixed, even if they don’t always happen to directly affect the gaming experience of the person reading the note. Just a polite request And thank you again.
Hmm…
I use NetWorx to track my overall usage. Last week I used nearly 7GB but I do stream TV shows and watch YouTube videos at 720P or Vimeo at HD.
That is also a nice little utility. I may switch to using NetWorx instead of BitMeter as I think I like the user interface better; it seems more professionally and intuitively designed as well as having more options.
The bonus XP is an exploration bonus earned based on how long a creature has been alive in the world. Not a bonus from buffs or boons.
Well, that’s a …curious… design decision.
Thanks for clearing that up, Inculpatus.
Regarding the Bonus Experience not displaying.
I, too, sometimes experience no Bonus Experience popping up along side the normal experience when killing experience-granting enemies. I only just started noticing it when I was using a 50% XP Booster with a Guild 10% Experience Banner to where the Bonus XP pop up wasn’t presented much of the time. I think I was noticing a trend to where the bonus XP pop up wasn’t being displayed for killing more of a single type of enemy after killing 2-3 of them in a brief time, and would begin displaying it again when killing another type of enemy.
Example:
I’m not sure if it is only not being displayed graphically or if the bonus experience actually isn’t being awarded. I’ve not done further testing as yet.
Though I’m not certain of this yet, it is possible that there are some protocols to Bonus XP that limits it from being awarded after several of the same type of enemy is killed. If it is this way, then it may exist to help prevent XP farming of quick-spawning enemies so one would need to kill various types of enemies instead of a single type of enemy to be awarded the Bonus XP.
I would also recommend using software like BitMeter to keep track of how much data usage you have used during a week/month.
It is completely free. http://codebox.org.uk/pages/bitmeter2
You can tell exactly how much you are using and how much you have left so you know if you will need to take a day or two off or limit how much time is spent in-game for a few days.
It also includes a data usage restriction meter. Just enter your 4GB/week data usage limit and BitMeter will warn you when you approach that limit. Should check it out.
Baby’s First Super Adventure got stuck at 26/27 for me back when SAB was first introduced and I was never able to get it to complete no matter how many times I ran Zone 1, 2 and 3 of World 1 in infantile mode. I finally gave up on it ever getting fixed. With the reintroduction of SAB I decided to give it a few more tries. It still will not complete. I’ve given up for good now. :\
I’m not sure if their still being in the game is consistent across all servers/worlds, but if it is a per server/world issue, what server/world are you playing on?
edit
Definitely still there on Eredon Terrace.
They are also still in Metrica Province at the C.L.E.A.N Station in Muridian Uplands.
I’m thinking all of the Seraph Honor Guards still exist everywhere.

For many players, enabling the ‘Best Texture Filtering’ graphic setting causes text to display more clearly in the ‘small’ Trading Post interface size.
On a related note, if anyone is able to reproduce a way to intentionally hide/remove the Living World Content notifier on the right side, as opposed to forcing it to display, please share it. The same request goes for the Personal Story UI banner (other than actually completing it as forced group content to complete hours of personal, solo content is ludicrously illogical). Many players want to hide these elements from displaying, but there is no way to hide these annoyances.
Species: Asura
Gender: Male and Female
Armor Type: Medium
Item: Aetherblade Medium GEM STORE Helmet Skin
Issue: Cheekbone Clipping
Description: Asura cheekbones clip through on both sides of the front of The GEM STORE Aetherblade Helmet. I’ve seen 5 different Asura in the last few days, other than myself, who have this helmet on and the cheekbones were clipping through on all of them. This has also been reported many times in the Bugs forum since the skin was introduced, yet it has still not been corrected. This skin can cost real money to acquire, I would have expected this to have been corrected in a timely manner because of this fact.
Additional:
I’ve also seen screenshots of some Asura with extreme brow bone, forehead, and eye socket clipping.

Interesting. I would expect some delayed/missing combat sounds if your Mixing Buffer Size had been set higher toward 5, but 2 shouldn’t result in that happening very much.
It would probably be a good idea to verify that your driver version for your Realtek sound card actually is up to date. Many of the pre-installed drivers on new PCs are from a factory disc that was ‘minted’ long before the PC actually went out for sale. Perhaps there is a driver issue that isn’t allowing sound elements to be buffered properly.
Latest Audio Driver Version
5.10.0.6914 – 13 Jun 2013
You can download the latest drivers here also. The package is 118.1 MB.

In your in-game Sound Options, what do you have these sliders set to?
Also, under Audio Device, other than “Default Device” what do you have for available choices there or what devices are listed in your Windows Control Panel > ‘Sound’ options?
What Operating System/##-bit are you using?

I’ve finally determined the cause of the issue.
I disassembled many optical, laser, wired and wireless mice to find a common defect within them. I disassembled several variations of the Razer Naga mice, a Razer Copperhead (my favorite mouse), several Logitech mice, a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer, and a few generic brand mice. I found the same exact issue to be present in all of these mice.
The quick and easy way of explaining it (with the Razer Naga as an example) is:

Knowing what server/world you are experiencing the bugged NPC on would be helpful to the devs so they can track down the problem and fix it.
Has there been any word about this?
None whatsoever. I’ve included 6 of the many threads on this issue in my tracker thread that has the issue outlined within it, but none have received any responses to date. Several have even posted the issue within the “Issues with character art, weapons, or armor” sticky thread in addition to making a separate bug thread on the issue. :\
Most TP issues are related to some temporary GW2 files where removing them will allow them to be recreated and the TP to function properly again.
First Option:
Another thing to try:
If the above solution did not fix the problem then there is another file that must be deleted. This one will cause you to lose your saved game settings so try the above solution first so you do not have to needlessly reconfigure your settings.
Not completely fixed yet.
Previously it was the wrist/forearm that was being…deflated, and that was for all female Norn and only during /dance or throwing animations.
Your screenshot seems to show you as being in a combat stance and it appears that it is now affecting the upper right arm. I’ve tried to reproduce the issue with my female Norn, but I could not.
Perhaps it is one of those items specifically that is causing the issue now. If you’d like to include all other gear you have equipped, including a back item, that’d probably be really helpful.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
My screenshots have always gone to “C:\Users\myuser\Documents\Guild Wars 2\Screens” since the day the game was released. I’m not sure why yours have gone into the game folder until recently.
I also have my GW2 installed on an entirely separate hard drive from my OS, so install location doesn’t seem to affect where screenshots get stored.
edit
I use Windows 7 and was not aware of this fact, but I’ve been informed by some players that previously on Windows XP systems the screenshots would save within the game installation folder. However, this has changed to now be in line with other Windows versions to where screenshots are saved in the Documents folder.
As a possible solution to XP users, if you prefer accessing screenshots from your installation folder, you can place a shortcut within the game folder that points to your “Documents\Guild Wars2\Screens” folder, though they’d still physically be in that location.

Your horns and ears are now visible. Perhaps they are trying to rework some gear for the Charr to be as they should’ve always been (and has been begged for by the community) instead of the easy route they took with having helms amputate the horns and ears off of Charr. This gives me hope to one day being able to make a Charr without fear of losing my horns and ears when wearing a helmet. Hopefully this continues and tails will also no longer clip through the gear and there will actually be a tail hole.
But, yes, your boots should not have an undyeable pink portion, that is likely a bug. May want to post about that in the Issues with character art, weapons, or armor sticky thread.

This is what was said by someone from Anet (Chris Cleary) a few minutes ago:
“Using this is a good way to get your account banned, I will be watching.
“Testing” this is not going to be a valid excuse to get your account unbanned."I’m not linking to the source since I think it still contains the code right now. :/
Maybe they will post something similar on these forums as well.I hope those quotes are true. I really do.
I’m looking forward to playing the game after the mass-banning that removes thousands of malicious players. The game world will once again have a much more fun and friendly environment after these types of players are gone. I really hope those quotes represent how serious they are taking this issue.

Are you using any other application that is running in the background like Razer GameBooster or something?
Sadly, the only thing I can think to do right now would be to do the full startup disabling and then slowly re-enable elements to see what is causing the conflict.
I would like to rule out the possibility that there is another program interfering with the game connection. To do this, we use a Windows command called “MSCONFIG.”
Please note, this command will not uninstall any applications from your computer. All MSCONFIG does is prevent these applications from automatically starting when Windows boots up.
To do this:
1. Press and hold the Windows key and then hit the R key. This should bring up the Run dialog box.
2. Type “MSCONFIG” without the quotes, and click “OK.” This should open the System Configuration Utility.
3. Click on the “Services” tab and check the “Hide All Microsoft Services” check box near the bottom, then click the “Disable All” button. (You MUST click “Hide all Microsoft Services”)
4. Next go to the “Startup” tab and click the “Disable All” button.
5. Once these items are all disabled, click the “OK” button and you will get a prompt to restart your computer. Please restart your computer.
6. Once you return to Windows, please try connecting to the game again.
To reverse these settings, simply run MSCONFIG again and click “Normal Startup” on the first window labeled “General.”
Note: If you need a specific application to run with Windows but still want to use MSCONFIG, just follow the above instructions and on step 4, re-check any application you feel needs to start with Windows. Examples would be wireless connection software, mouse or keyboard applications or even security applications. Please note that security applications can often be a contributing factor to such issues. If you haven’t done so already, please also disable any Anti-virus, Firewall or other security applications for testing purposes.

Item: Dredge helm (Sorrow’s Embrace armor)
Issue: Helm uses different skin
Description:
The helm uses a different skin after the update of 17/09
Screen 1 is from the wiki showing how it was before update.
Screen 2 – 4 are screenshots of how it looks now. Also nothing of it is mentioned in the patch notes.
In screens 2-4 your horns and ears are now visible. Perhaps they are trying to rework some gear for the Charr to be as they should’ve always been instead of amputating the horns and ears off of them as has been begged for by the community. This gives me hope to one day being able to make a Charr without fear of losing my horns and ears when wearing a helmet. Can you right-click and check in the Properties of your ‘Gw2.dat’, ‘Gw2.tmp’ and ‘Gw2.exe’ files and make sure each of them is not set to ‘Read Only’. Perhaps it is unable to write to the files. You can also right-click and check the Properties of the entire Guild Wars 2 installation folder and make sure it is not set to ‘Read Only’.
Also was this the Microsoft Hotfix you were talking about?

Did my suggestion of renaming/deleting the local.dat file help?
Or if you’d prefer to try clearing out all of your game cache files first then:
ElementaMaxima
In your game folder could you also make sure that your ‘Gw2.tmp’ file is not set as ‘Read Only’ in its properties?
Is the ‘Gw2.tmp’ file also larger than ‘zero’ bytes in file size?
What anti-virus software is being used? Perhaps the new Gw2.exe needs to be re-added to the exceptions/All Connections application rules.
Also make sure that the new ‘Gw2.exe’ that you downloaded from me isn’t set to ‘Read Only’ as downloaded files are sometimes set to be ‘Read Only’ when they are downloaded.
:(
I’m going to throw some coffee on to brew and see if I can figure this thing out. I’ll get back to you soon on if I come up with something.
There seems to be a chat code link that forces all players in the zone that see it to be knocked back to character select screen. It was probably this.

I added the download link for my gw2.exe
http://www.mediafire.com/download/1o52010z5sxk5zc/Gw2.exe
Happy to help you and to at least try to solve the problem.
Upload is almost done.
In the meantime, have you tried to completely disable UAC? This still sounds very much like it is related to it.
Start Menu > Control Panel
Click ‘View By’ and select ‘Icons’ in the top right
Click on ‘User Accounts’
Click the bottom option called “Change User Account Control Settings”
In the pop up window, lower the bar to the bottom and click ‘OK’
Then ensure ‘Gw2.exe’ is not still running in your Task manager, and try launching the game again.
Do you happen to have a backup copy of your Gw2.exe file from before this patch stored someplace else?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Launcher-won-t-launch
This person had the same issue on September 5th. They stated that they deleted their Gw2.exe and got a copy of a friend’s Gw2.exe and it solved their problem.
I’m uploading a copy of my patched Gw2.exe to mediafire. If you want to try downloading it and replacing your existing Gw2.exe with it, then this may help. I don’t know what is causing the issue, but if this has been shown to solve it, then it is worth a try. I’ll update with the link when it is done. It’s 22mb.
Here is the download link:

Is your game currently installed to a location like:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2
I recommend creating a folder on your ‘C:\’ drive called “Games” or something similar. Then can you ‘move’ the entire ‘Guild Wars 2’ folder from being in ‘Program Files’ to being there instead:
C:\Games\Guild Wars 2
Basically move your Guild Wars 2 installation to anywhere else on your hard drive. There have been many issues in the past with getting the game to launch properly when it is installed within ‘Program Files (x86)’.
Then try to launch the game again and see if it will load up properly.
Ah, this sounds like UAC. Can you ‘End Task’ the launcher from your processes, then go to your ‘gw2.exe’ and ensure that you have the “Run As Administrator” checkbox enabled in its properties?
Perhaps the new patch that replaced the existing ‘Gw2.exe’ needs it to be re-enabled on it.
After launching the game today, the launcher started to download the latest update.
Q1.
Was the launcher able to fully download the update when it was updating? You mentioned it started to download, but did it also complete the download?
I can’t seem to get the launcher to work anymore. I can still see gw2.exe in processes but it does not do anything and doesn’t show up.
Q2.
After ensuring that Gw2.exe is not running in your Task Manager (end task), are you able to load up the launcher normally or does it just fail to even load onto your screen yet still gets relisted in your running processes?
This one will cause you to lose your saved game settings, but it has solved this problem of crashing on clicking ‘Play’ for other people.
