The October 15th patch should include tab target priority changes.
Now, whether these changes include better target prioritizing of aggroed enemies in your face over “random weapon racks far off in the distance that are out of range of any possible weapon or skill” remains to be seen.
- Now prioritizes Champs/Legendary, then players/clones, then everything else
- Deselecting your target now resets tab selection history (aka, you’ll start tabbing through from the beginning if you deselect)
- Can now tab target if your character can see the target (Was dependent on camera before)
Regarding the “target changing from almost dead regular enemy to a full health Veteran upon being downed” issue, others are also reporting it, but there has been no response on the matter yet.
Happy to help.
Happy to help. The relocation was not that long ago and was not mentioned in any patch notes that I could find.
Considering how many issues require players to delete this file so it can be recreated, I’m not sure who thought it was a good idea to relocate it to someplace else without notifying of the change, as well as relocating it to a hidden folder of all places. It does not make sense to me.
They are doing maintenence right now, and it will affect things such as guild chat.
makes sense….I saw the message but I thought it just said it might interfere with my connection but I probably wan’t paying that much attention lol
You saw it right
It’s just that chat channels, as well as parties (and therefore dungeons also), are handled using ArenaNet IP address connections. Interference with connectivity would also include disruptions to those aspects of the game.

Would you please consider trying this out.
I suggest this because the UI uses Flash and having Hardware Acceleration enabled on the Flash Player can cause serious FPS drops for some players.
If you need a YouTube video to disable this setting, may I suggest this one:

The local.dat file has been relocated.
The new location is at:
C:\Users\MyComputerUserName\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2
“AppData” is a hidden folder.
If you require assistance to enable showing of hidden files and folders on your computer then follow these steps:

There currently isn’t an alert on the forums, but there was an alert sent many times in-game about a maintenance being performed that may cause issues with player connectivity, which would also affect many things including parties which dungeons rely on.
Part 3.11 Bought the GW2 DVD, but it still requires over 75k file to be downloaded?
“The DVD is the copy from initial launch, since then there has been many patches/updates. 75K files to download is normal. A full game installation is about 225k files.”
First thing to try:
If that was unsuccessful:
If that was unsuccessful:
The Hall of Monuments Portal Stone is automatically in the inventory of every new character you create on your account. The stone is also account bound so you can drop it in your bank and grab it with another character to use.
As for why your new Charr didn’t receive a Portal Stone while your new Asura did, was your Charr your first character you’ve made on your account?
Did you recently link your GW1 and GW2 accounts together?
If so, it is possible that your Charr was either made before you linked your GW1 and GW2 accounts so it was not activated on your account yet to receive the Portal Stone when it was created, or perhaps the change to your linking of accounts did not go into effect on your account until after the Charr was made and was then fully linked when the Asura was made.
This issue is one of a few that really would be best to go through Support for help to resolve. At that link click on “Ask A Question” in the top middle, select the appropriate area (may be best to categorize it under account issues) and include all relevant information in your report. I hope they will be able to resolve the problem quickly.

This thread may do better being moved to the Account Issues forum in case the OP needs additional information on the issue from Account Support, or vice versa.

Read Only – only applies if you are not an administrator.
Take a look at other files on your system. Although they will be ‘read only’ you can still modify or delete them on an account that has admin privileges.
Correct you can modify or delete them on an administrator account, I’m talking about the game being able to modify them. Several things could prevent the game from being able to modify them despite being run with an administrator user.
Per Bill Freist, Gameplay Programmer.
Would you try to use Dye Remover on all parts of the item and save the changes and close your Hero panel and see if it fixes it. You should then be able to go back in and dye to your liking.
If that does not work, could you try un-equipping all other armor items and then trying to use Dye Remover on the item. These methods have helped resolve the ‘undyeable after transmutation’ issue for others in the past.
Thanks for your suggestion, I am now a naked asura (with blue underpants), but unfortunately, still with red shoe tips.
I then tried to preview Priory Boots at the PVP Locker, these have the problem as well.
I asked another player to confirm the problem to see if it is only on my client, but he also sees red shoes.
Ah. Sorry to hear that. I was hoping it was only the ‘transmute makes undyeable’ bug and not a ‘red undyeable shoes’ issue reminiscent of the ‘Order of Whispers Red Daggers’ issue.
:\
I hope this can be addressed quickly. Seems the Order Armors have a frequent issue of having issues.
Long known issue. Acknowledged by dev. Due for being fixed in the Oct. 15th patch.
Pulled from my Tracker – Living World/Game Update Bugs thread.
Race: Asura
Sex: Male
Class: Medium Armor (Engineer)
Category: Armor art issueDescription: Medium male Priory Boots (bought from armor guy at Durmand Priory, transmuted to crafted exotics) have large portions, which are non-dyeable. These spots are plain red, regardless of the used dye color. I used different dyes on my screenshots to show the spots better. The problem happens in hero screen as well as on the character model ingame.
Also, the side toes clip out, but I guess that can’t be fixed.Everything was alright when i bought the boots a while ago. It broke in an update some time ago, I’m pretty late with reporting it…hope it can be fixed in a future patch!

Also, make sure Gw2.exe, Gw2.tmp and Gw2.dat are not set as ‘Read Only’ in their properties. This setting could cause many problems during launch, update, pre- and post-repair, as well as it now wanting to re-download the whole game again as the file(s) could not be written to. If any of those were marked as ‘Read Only’, un-check ‘Read Only’ and re-run the repair shortcut.
You’re welcome.
I’ve found that this issue has come up before.
Close your game completely and then check your surround sound settings for your audio and make sure it didn’t get set to 5.1 or 8 channel/7.1 surround sound during the transition to your new PC. Those modes are not supported by GW2 yet. Set it to 2 channel stereo.
Ascended rings can only have one of a specific ring equipped on a single character at a time. This is defined by the inclusion of the “Unique” attribute on the rings. For each stat combination there is one ring that has an Offensive Infusion slot, the other has a Defensive Infusion slot. You can equip one of each of these rings since they are not identical, but not two of the same exact ring (accessories also).
If you file a Support Ticket (hitting Ask A Question at the top middle there) you can explain the situation to them and they may supply a refund due to the confusion. This is a very common issue and they have provided refunds to others in the past who have asked for it.
Good luck.

If the bottleneck on decently designed and sufficiently varied armor being introduced into the game is due to lack of design concepts, and not so much on the actual modeling of the armor, I’d gladly start submitting design concepts that are free for you to have/use/not use, ArenaNet. I’m sure many in this community are capable of producing quality and creative armor designs with species/gender/weight variations and would gladly offer them freely for your use as well.
If the bottleneck is actually at the modeling stage, then I’d gladly also freely offer the designed armor to include model files as well. Just mention what program/format you would prefer the models designed in for easy alterations and implementation consideration.
I understand there would likely be wavers of rights to submitted material and agreements and such. Not a problem. It’s the right way to do it to cover butts, yours and ours.
If you need help, we’re here for you! There are many talented artists in this community, start tapping into us! Let’s get this ‘Player Generated Concepts/Content’ going.

Most TP issues are related to some temporary GW2 files where removing them will allow them to be recreated and the TP to function properly again.
Make hidden files visible and clear the game cache
—note—
By “window menus” I mean up at the top of the window where it says “File Edit View Tools Help”. If that bar does not display in your window for you along the top, then click the drop-down arrow next to the word “Organize” and then click on “Layout” and select “Menu bar” to enable showing of the menus (attached image #2).
Another way to do Steps 3, 4 and 5 to make hidden folders visible is:
Race: Charr
Sex: Female
Class: ThiefI think I win this “contest”
This happened to my character after the patch on 8/20/2013. The character model gets spikes sticking out from the back and arms of the character model. The issue only occurs when using the Vigil coat and no other.
I dunno, I see alot of clipping issues people are bringing up, tho I see this as much more severe since the whole character model gets screwed up and have been so for a month making the whole character look ugly. And since I see clipping issues being brought up that have been in since launch and haven’t been adjusted yet I get a bit worried that this is something that ain’t gonna get fixed within a year.
Your issue has also been reported by many others, so it isn’t just happening for you and isn’t related to a graphics driver issue or anything.
Here’s one report of it, and another, which also has links to other reports of the issue.
You’re right, I would think this would have been addressed by now, just as the pair of pants that had an extra glove floating next to it was addressed. Shouldn’t be more than a minute or two to adjust the nodes for this chest piece on the charr model. The time it takes to get a cup of coffee or use the bathroom could instead be used to fix this Order Armor regardless of where it is on the ‘priority’ list.

So, you may want to check your power scheme in your control panel to make sure your 680M is used for 3D applications and not the Intel 4000 and make sure it is also not set to run in Optimized mode.

This issue of the posters not being available for other characters after having been torn down for that achievement was reported back in August and was acknowledged here.
It appears that this behavior has not been fixed yet. :\
It’s hard to tell what the functionality of the item is from just a screen shot, so I’m here to clarify. This screen shot actually shows the Bloody Prince Thorn costume and not an armor skin, so it is not usable in combat.
That is nice to hear that his appearance will be available as a Towns Clothes costume, but would you pass word along to the armor designers that this style of armor is highly desired by players (especially for necromancer players), and it would be very, very nice to see future armor designs made available that are similar in appearance to this, please?
Can you include the name of the weapon you applied the Zenith skin to?
Also, does this weapon have a coin/vendor value at the bottom of its info tool-tip?
If the weapon that the Zenith skin was applied to was purchased with Karma or Badges, or was a soulbound/account bound drop from the Mystic Forge and was initially unsalvageable, applying the Zenith skin would not change its salvageability status.
Also, I’m not sure of this, but if your weapon is stored in an invisible bag then I think it cannot be salvaged as a safety precaution. If my above questions do not apply to the weapon, and it is in an invisible bag, try to move it to a non-invisible bag slot and attempt to salvage it again. - Not relevant as Mystic confirmed items can be salvaged from invisible bags.

What firewall program are you using?
If your firewall program has an ‘Exceptions’ list or ‘Application Rules’ list then, instead of disabling your firewall program, remove Guild Wars 2 or Gw2.exe from the list and ensure notifications of program activity is enabled and run the game again. You should get the ‘Allow’ pop up for the game again and can re-add it to the Exceptions/application Rules list and ensure you permit it to have unlimited connectivity across all ports.
This can be a solution to the problem due to some firewall programs having an issue of still following the ‘Exceptions’ or ‘Application Rules’ list despite setting the firewall to disabled. Other firewall programs have issues of incorrectly displaying the program as having unlimited connectivity across all ports, though it actually does not. Removing the application from the exceptions/rules list and then allowing it to be re-added with unlimited connectivity across all ports should allow it to function properly again.
I’m not sure if this is what is happening, but is your target switching to the last enemy that hit you before entering downed-state, or the first enemy to hit you after entering downed-state?
I’ve not really noticed any target switching happening for me at the time of entering downed-state. Can you offer an example area and mob type that you are experiencing this issue at?
Also, on a not-sure-if-it-is-related note, do you have “Right-click to interact/attack” enabled or disabled in your options?

32-bit Windows cannot detect more than 3.5 GB of RAM. Your friend likely has much more RAM installed in the system, but due to using 32-bit Windows, they are only using 3.5 GB of it.
If you have 3.5 GB of RAM, 700 MB to 1.5 GB is usually used by the OS.
With other programs running on the system (anti-virus, music player, utility programs, web browser, etc), your friend is likely sitting on about 1 GB to 1.5 GB of RAM freely available for GW2.
Either ensure that they close as many programs as possible on the system before playing GW2 to have as much of that free memory available for the game as possible, or upgrade to 64-bit to gain the additional RAM that isn’t detected due to the 32-bit OS limitation.
This may fit better in the ‘suggestions’ area of the forums as there technically isn’t a bug, just a comment on the lack of widely-desired options.
Regarding the idea of a dye channel for hair accessories, Hamfast.8719 had made a really good recommendation on how to resolve that problem. The only issue I found with their suggestion was that some hair accessories can remain visible while head armor is displayed, so having to remove head armor to change the dye channel of the hair accessory doesn’t seem like the best method. The hair accessory dye channel should be displayed next to the head armor dye channels when in “Dye Mode”, so you can match your hair accessory to your helm dyes while it remains displayed.
Regarding a “true black (Abyss)” color choice for hair accessories, Hamfast.8719 also made a suggestion of Abyss dye being in the palette of selectable dyes for hair accessories if we remain unable to choose from the dyes that have been unlocked on that character.
Your post seems to be yet another that supports these recommendations, which I also support.
Can you include a screenshot so it can be determined whether it is a game-wide bug, a local damaged client issue, or a local graphics driver issue, please?
Also, I know there have been reports of the eyes of avatars at the Character Select Screen being wide and popping out of the eye sockets. Is this the issue you are talking about?
My female human avatars suffer from this “too much caffeine” issue as well.
See this thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Characters-eyes-are-messed-up
Is this the issue you are reporting?
This thread is a duplicate of your other thread you made on September 6th. I know this issue is very annoying and requires attention, but creating a duplicate thread is against forum rules of conduct. Maybe it would have been best to have updated your previously existing thread with a comment stating that the issue persists.
Regardless, I agree with this issue of existing helms removing beards needing attention, and the issue should be addressed in a manner that prevents any future helms from also removing beards (especially since any future helm releases are likely to be Gem Store Armors as well, which can cost real money).

It still appears that you have a damaged or corrupted game file according to your crashlog.
Are you sure you ran the “repair” properly?
I’ll look into some more situations that can cause these problems. Currently researching PCI Express 3.0 issues with the card on a motherboard that does not support PCIe 3.0 and some motherboard/GTX 760 BIOS interactions. Not sure what motherboard you are running it on, just trying to look into more possible causes.
Also, what wattage is your power supply?
Running the game as Administrator?
Cleared GW2 cache files out also?

Not sure how you think all gold came from someone elses real money….A lot of gold was originally made by selling blues/greens to merchant and doing dungeon runs with gold find gear/consumables on. Tequatl runs give me 1g per event.
I believe you may have misread and that person actually stated that all gems, not gold, that have been added to the initial launch supply have been purchased with real cash and sold for gold. So, other than the initial stockpile of gems available at launch, all gems added into the supply since then have been purchased with real cash and sold for gold. The amount of gems available in the supply affects the gold → gem and gem → gold conversion rates.

Since began using StinVec’s solution the problem has gone gradually even worse.
It seems pressing right corner of mouse brakes the button even more. Now I’m forced to buy now mouse some time soon I guess.
Also the problem now exists in other applications such as Windows desktop and Unity3D.
It’s possible that your wear pattern on the soft plastic that contacts the activation button is reverse of what I outlined and is worn down on the right side due to how you hold your mouse. In your case you may want to click from the inner left side of the button where it meets the scroll wheel instead of on the outer right side.
The Light Armor Flame Legion Vestments override any leg armor. It is both the chest and the legs when equipped.
The Light Armor Flame Leg Guards are just the lower portion of the garment that covers the legs.
Yep, quite odd.
Regarding the 4/6 bonus no longer proccing after having used the medkit under water and then exiting water, un-equipping and re-equipping your armor should be a better and quicker workaround than relogging to get it to work again. Also, switching to your Towns Clothes and back works the same as un-equipping all armor and re-equipping them. Having a key bound to toggle Towns Clothes helps accomplish this quicker than opening Hero Panel and swapping to Town Clothes and back. There are other issues of rune set bonuses no longer working due to some action that doing this swap has allowed them to function again without the normal relog required to get them to work again.
This rune set seems to be having the same issues as Runes of Vampirism in terms of set bonus #4..
Thanks for taking the time to test this issue out! I look forward to your further testing results.
A cat, of course. One that’s both alive and dead at the same moment.
Oh Paradox, I smiled at your comment and then laughed when I considered it in combination with your name. You win.
This has been fixed for me, logged in yesterday to find my mini shocktrooper carrying his greatsword when running around.
Thanks Josh/Matt/Anet.
That’s awesome to hear! Thanks for updating on the issue getting fixed
I’ve now moved it from an active issue to having been fixed in my “Tracker – Living World/Game Update Bugs” thread. Thank you again.

If your inventory window is off-screen, even slightly, then it is designed to move it back onto your screen to a default size/shape/position. This happens to prevent players from moving their inventory off screen and being unable to move it back. It’s a safety feature.
Just try to prevent any portion of the inventory window from going off-screen. The reason it resets when you pick up items from the TP Pick Up screen is because your inventory is updated with the items/coin you picked up, and if the inventory was recognized as being off-screen then it triggers the reset window safety feature.
I may have gotten this but 800 gems is far too much for this kind of content. That’s like a monthly subscription and I don’t think that’s worth a month in subscription fees.
What you said is completely contradictory. If you bought it, it’s priced correctly. That’s how supply and demand works.
They didn’t say that they bought it, they said that they may have been interested in buying it had it not been as expensive as it is, that had it been less expensive they’d have probably picked one up.
That is also in line with my feelings on the subject of Infinite Gathering Tools; I don’t mind “Soulbound on Use”, but at 800 Gems each…thanks, but no thanks. If they were 200 Gems each I’d be buying dozens of them. At 800 I won’t even be buying one.
Again, ArenaNet…people are more willing to make many smaller amount purchases over a single larger one, even if it ends up costing more in the long run. At 200 Gems each, I’d happily spend 6000 gems to outfits 10 characters with a single set of Infinite Gathering Tools, instead I’m spending no gems.
I’d also have no problem with buying additional versions of the infinite tools on each of those 10 characters when they are released or made available. I’d swap out to whichever I felt like using at the time. So also buying each variation of each Infinite Gathering Tool across 10 characters would really add up.
Infinite Gathering Tools
10 Characters
3 Infinite Tools Each
3 Variations of Each Tool (when made available)
18,000 – # of Gems I’d spend @ 200 Gems per tool
22,500 – # of Gems I’d spend @ 250 Gems per tool
ZERO – # of Gems I’ve spent and will ever spend on Infinite Tools that cost 800 Gems EachAnd that’s just on Infinite Gathering Tools and not even getting into what would have been spent on pieces from a single set of Gem Armor had armor pieces been sold individually in the gem store instead of as full sets.
99% of marketing is psychology.
Anet want people to buy gems with $ not gold. Your argument is invalid.
And where did you read my stating that I would be buying gems with gold and not real money?
You made an incorrect assumption.

Thank you, Charming Rogue. I was responding before I read further and saw your comment stating the same rebuttal.

Known, long-standing issue. Linked Dev response states it should be fixed in the October 15th patch.
Pulled from my Tracker – Living World/Game Update Bugs thread.
The situation with those NPCs is not server/world specific and is game-wide. It has also been reported quite a few times since mid-September, though obviously it has not been addressed yet. :\
However, the Renown Heart can still be completed by taking part in firing at the targets with the rifle in the middle event stall.

Another way is to right click their portrait and add them as a friend instead of sending a party invite. You can then go to your contact list and report them for the suspected issue at your leisure. You can then remove them from your contacts list if you would like.
In-game bug reports are not Support Tickets. Sending a bug report in via the in-game bug report tool only alerts them of a potential bug.
You can file a support ticket for your issue if you would like dialogue with Support Personnel regarding your issue.
http://en.support.guildwars2.com/
Then choose “Ask A Question” in the top middle and fill in the relevant areas to explain the issue.
However, looking at even the 1st Page of Bugs in this forums shows that dozens upon dozens of other players are having this exact same issue. Looking closer will reveal that a dev has already responded to the issue stating they are aware of this issue and are working on a fix for it. In fact, some players are reporting it as being fixed now. If it has been fixed then close your game and reload it for it to become fixed for you as well.
If the issues with guilds disappearing or being the only person in a guild with upgrades and items missing that others are experiencing is not the same issue, then feel free to file a Support Ticket for your different issue.

True. Though the salvage achievement can be completed in the Mists if the items are salvaged with a PvP Salvage Kit. Oddities and inconsistencies abound.
This Aetherblade Key Daily Task is related to the Living Story, which is PvE content, this and any other Daily Tasks related to the LS must also be completed in a PvE area.
