Mess with the best, die like the rest.
Mesmer is a pain to fight, but its based primary on skill rather than what class you play. Each class plays differently with their own plus and minuses (ranger having the worst minus however due to pet issues). In retrospect 1v1 against any class is possible but it is determined based on player skill.
awesome awesome, back in the day it wasn’t like that….from what I remember.
back in the day most people did not know how to play their classes very well some classes were easier to learn than others. Since people have gained skill fights in 1v1 have become a matter of skill rather than class. Mesmers are hard to kill, thieves are just annoying but if your skilled enough you can counter them.

We are getting a new permanent world boss and a new permanent map within two weeks. This is certainly a nice start into the new year. I do not expect them to keep going like this, but there is probably some permanent content in all living story patches.
ok man that’s cool, and ik they r doin good in the spvp maps and they said they will add new pvp modes BUT what about dungeons….we been fARMing the SAME 8 dungeons for almost 2 YEARSSSS…..well almost 1 1/2 years X). anyways im not the grinding type but still….don’t u think we see new dungeons and things in the grinding world map. dude I mean common……..its a little silly now, there tower was cool and now what? disappeared and never to be seen again….its annoying.
FOTM updated, TA Aetherblade path. Answered your question about dungeons.
More world bosses exist now as well.
Sootberne is not particular hard and has an easy trick to it. Camera position is everything. By using the camera position well at each jump it is possible to see where you are going and hit it right. but you need to adjust it at each jump.
Easier route than that. i just climb the mountain from the side and jump down to it. Saves me all the jumping
It is not that difficult. If you need it i can show you a easy path to it that has minimal risk of falling.
I think its a good idea. It is impossible to put timers on all the champions and veterans in the game. I suggest going further and making it on normal mobs as well. Of course all numbers in loot tables would be effected such as normal mobs wouldn’t get as high rewards as veteran, veteran not as high as elite, and elite not as high as champion.
It will encourage people to fight random mobs and other champions. Ascalon might actually be played at this point. Orr would also get played again (there is many champions without timers roaming around). Hardcore farmers would never be able to farm all the champs and no effective method could be developed as many champions do not have timers or are event based. So events that are hardly ever done will become played just because of the increased potential rewards.
By adding this system it is better for map completionists.
Mob AI has to react more like a player.. that would remove the need for defiance and make support and control builds more viable, like in WvW and PvP.
Mobs need to dodge, walk out of AoE fields and line of sight range players and kite melee players. Also add minions to support bosses and/or add more control to the fight. The key is having more challenging encounters with smaller health pools. Any scripted fight with single large attacks can be learned easily and mitigated with dodges or defensive abilities in the zerker meta builds. Unscripted fights with more pressure (read other sources of damage harder to avoid) would require more support and control.
This would work but is it not easily done. AI is one of the hardest things to program and are extremely CPU heavy (on their servers).
Try making a your own party within it. They dont usually take long to fill up so most of the places are empty because people fill them up fast.
I agree there needs to be a change to allow more usage of control and support roles, but your methodology is overly complexing it by adding even more stats to the game. Healing power right now is a very hard to balance state as at this moment my warrior is capable of healing 1000hp/sec by changing it to be more effective I would be unstoppable especially if they made it 1:1 ratio.
Something needs to be down but not by making it more complex. I think the most crucial part is adding more skills that allow better control and support than what there is currently.
Reading through this and people are trying to separate WvW between PVP and PVE. WvW is PVPVE. Its not strictly PVP nor is it strictly PVE. It is the direct combination of both combining aspects from both sectors much like WOW. At the same time however WvW is not PVPVE as it is Stragetic PVPVE as there are goals and objectives to be completed by a large group of people. Lets break this down for people to understand.
PVE stands for Player versus Environment, where the player is against NPCs or the system for a goal.
PVP stands for Player versus Player, where players are against other players for a goal.
In Guild Wars 2, WvW has PVE and PVP as when your walking there is animals that will attack you and other NPCs. There is gathering nodes, POIs, Skill Points, and Jumping Puzzles. PVP aspects include fighting other players in defense, roaming, or invading. Stragey occurs from all the towers, camps, keeps, and a castle on the maps that must be captured and defended which requires some planning to be successful. Combining all these elements creates Strategic PVPVE.
Now on to the main subject about Map completion. I have at this moment 9 characters, 8 of which have completed WvW maps 100% of their map completion. I am in FA server which is often against JQ, Mag, TC, DB, etc. so fighting against some of the highest ranked servers in NA. Map Completion is not difficult and with an effective group of people (5-10) you can sneak capture most locations. larger locations such as Castle and keeps are harder and will require a zerg which most servers have at times.
I do not mind map completion including WvW as it is part of the entire PVE as i stated above, WvW is PVPVE. WvW also brings a large amount of PVE players who dislike PVP into WvW with a common goal of taking a tower, keep, or castle. Gather enough people and you can capture it. In my guilds i volunteer to help people map WvW and PVE.
Anet’s goal is to get PVE players into WvW so they can try different things rather than being stuck in an infinite loop. I agree with Anet’s decision on this matter as you need to try different aspects of a game to see if you like it or not. If I dislike a part of a game i just complete what i need from that area then continue on with stuff I like.
You need to have them in your inventory when talking to the BLS for him to show it. Same is with jade weapon claim tickets (which i still have 2 of)
achievement points don’t mean very much.
back to the op, it makes sense that people you block shouldn’t be able to see your lfg posts.
I agree with the OP on the first but not the 2nd point. Achievement Points do matter as it means you have played the game. To get to 10k Achievement points is not by any means easy, and you actually had to play to get those points.
Anyone can spend time in the game. A handful of them can actually learn the game.
Just because you grind dailies, jump puzzles and living stories does NOT mean you know the ins and outs of Arah. Achievement points are utterly worthless as any form of measurement of game knowledge.
Even if you do all that you still wouldn’t have 10k of AP. I do dailies and Living story, but I only gotten to 10k not long ago but i have most slayers, weapon masters, dungeons, etc. done along with all Jumping Puzzles.
It takes a lot more achievements to get to 10k then what you are suggesting which means they must have knowledge in the game. It wont be true several months for now but at the time of this posting to get 10k points take more than Dailies/monthlies, living Stories, and jumping puzzles to get there. A lot more is needed.
Also no where did I say it was hard. To get 10k points right now means you have to have covered large ground of the game and completed a large chunk of the game itself.
I got 10k and 0 legendaries and legendaries do not give you much AP in the first place. A large portion of the player base with legendaries is below 7k AP if you were not paying attention.
Titles come from Achievements and are given from performing tasks and to show skill so yes they become important. Such as the SPvP titles and WvW titles (once someone actually gets one) show skill and achievement as they would be hell more knowledgable at it then someone who doesn’t have the title.
Dungeon master for instance sure he may not be as knowledgeable at a specific path in a dungeon, but he would be more knowledgeable about all the dungeons then someone who hasn’t been to all of them.

Reading through this one main thing keeps coming up: Broken mechanics of the pet and to allow the option to switch to another set of class mechanics instead.
Problem: Adding class mechanics would take just as much if not more work than trying to fix the AI. For there would be a large amount of testing needed to be done then weeding out all those bugs. If they were going to do this it would make more sense just to fix the AI in the first place cause it would require just the same amount of work.
Ok here is a test run off the top of a cliff and see if you can keep moving at the same speed that you were running when you hit the bottom. I highly doubt you would still be running. More than likely you will stop. After landing from any type of fall your speed before the fall will always be higher than the speed after hitting the ground.
Also in combat means having any debuff or take damage. If you take damage from a distant source (aka treb or ground) you will regen faster and get out of combat faster. So overall its not that bad and not something you should take seriously. In short don’t be stupid.
We can not come up a build for you. It is on you to make it for your play style. I can come up with like 3 builds but all 3 of those builds could be bad for your play style. Play around in PVP and make a build that you like.
I didn’t say progression is, based on levels but you haven’t found a way to give people a sense of progression if you take levels of away. What would you put into place that would give people a sense of progression that is not a gear grind. What would you use to keep people playing? Cause content is not enough to keep people playing as Anet found out when people got to lvl80 and stopped playing. There was a ton of content but not progressive content so they stated that there was no end game. So how would you fix this in a game without level progression or gear progression?
I told you already. Gear can still be tied to a level system.
unlock this model and gear stats at level x,y,z.
But dont lock Traits/Skills to level requirements and dont lock zones to levels.
So players can play and go wherever they want and create their own story and progression. They can play any event. The levels would be the reward for the fun, instead of how it currently is, which is fun is the reward for leveling through the gated content.
still has its progression. But not forced on people like it is now. its Optional grind, and comes with the fun of playing the way you enjoy.
some people enjoy defend events. well they can do that all day long and explore to find new defense events.
Some people like escort events, they can do that all day and find new events of that kind.
some people like champ zergs,
some people like hearts,
some people like jump puzzles,
etc.
they can play the way they enjoy, and still get their levels, but they wont be locked away from the stuff they enjoy simply because they dont fit a level requirment. can you imagine how this game would have been if they also locked SPvP and WvW like this around levels?
Based on this logic why would you lock gear and not skill traits and skills? Since gear is what mostly allows you in this game to do things and not your level then it is gear that is locking you from progressing and not the traits. If my lvl1 warrior could have a lvl80 GS and lvl80 exotics he wouldn’t be prevented from doing things.
Also based on you want you failed to meet the 2nd condition. 0 gear grind. You created a gear grind by removing lvl grind. To get better gear I must lvl just so i can wear better gear. The solo purpose of lvling is for gear which is a gear grind. The way Anet has it the importance of lvling is not for gear but for skills (till lvl30) then traits (lvl80) then gear. Gear being last and optional. Yours would remove part 1 and part 2 and make it soloely based on gear which creates a gear grind.
Try again this time make a progression system that has 0 level progression and 0 gear grind.
Because Gear is just for looks and stats. Traits define how you play. Skills are tied to Traits and build. The way you look and the stats you wear arent as important as the build you go into battle with.
A player going into the world, fully scaled in level, and with full traits, and make builds for different fights. Gear is a totally different ball game of grinding.
You still haven’t removed the grind you created thou. You created a gear grind based on your thought as most people always want a sense of progression. Since you moved GW2 progression system and replacing it with this one you are making a gear grind.
Remove the gear grind or else you will have anger on the forums like Anet did with Ascended gear being introduced.
Edit: As well it is going against the core design of the game which is no gear grind only for cosmetics.

>Wanting everything at level 1
That’s a whole new level of Entitlement that I’ve never seen until now. It’s like buying the game, and wanting to beat Zhaitan 5 minutes later.
GW2 was marketed as Endgame starts at level 1 after all.
That appeals to a lot of people, because after years of playing in WoW,EQ,RIft, etc, many people realize that they dont need levels since its only a short part of the game.
Even the game of this same IP that existed before GW2, aka Guild Wars 1, was built on this concept, by having only 20 level, and the rest of the game is endgame, since the levels without the illusions of grind, is really only a small part of long term gameplay.
Endgame is the long term part of a MMO.
GW2 was not marketed as such. They never stated it anywhere that you would be able to do everything at lvl1, or that endgame was at lvl1. Guild Wars 1 is a different game with a different concept behind it. Guild Wars 2 has more levels with a possibility of higher lvls in the future (not taken off the table).

Is anyone still getting “Obstructed” on flat terrains? I’m getting more of it when theres more players together. I dont know if its friendlys or my pet thats blocking my arrows. I’d like this to get fixed.
Yea its an annoying bug. Not sure what is causing the collision issue.
it may be done better than other games, but that still doesnt make it good to segregate the game world for players that arent max level.
its bad game design. no point in time sinks like this when there is no timely sub in this game.
Check out other RPG’s and such. They do the exact same thing. If you’re looking for dynamic leveling then the only game series I have seen been doing that is Elder Scrolls. Level barriers have existed in RPG’s for the longest time and are a core component.
They have progression, but not in the same way as character levels are used here to segregate the game.
Elder scrolls uses a lvl progression system. Unlike a character lvl progression it is a skill lvl progression with an overall lvl progression. Still an lvl progression system just more complex. It locks you from content still as you can not use the most powerful spells in the game at the start and nor can you kill certain enemies (elder dragons while at lvl1)
the game world scales. you may not be high level, but you can do all the content in some way. And since the game is sandbox in itself, people can choose how they play or what level they want to be.
The game scales but not all of it does (Found areas that don’t so enemies will one shot you no matter what unless you mod or cheat or get higher lvl) but also your trying to compare a moddable single player game with a unmodifiable (by players) MMORPG.
This type of system would not work for a MMORPG just due you can’t scale the world around hundreds of different level characters. You can only scale the players to the world level which Guild Wars 2 already does.

do it..but i will see if the warr is just bad or not
Well based on that logic how would you consider a warrior good or not? (deters from the main topic of this forum way to much thou).
Levels segregate the game world.
People cant enjoy the full of the game world without leveling first.
if players take their time, they miss out on all the cool things happening all over the place.
So no point not rushing to max level. but that leads to burnout since the skill/trait system doesnt reward well for leveling between 1-30, 30-40, 40-60, 60-80.
Would you like to eliminate levels altogether? Would you like there to be a server where you could instantly be level 80? Would you like to be temporarily leveled up when entering a higher level zone?
You didn’t provide a single solution. All you did was complain, and you didn’t suggest much of anything. Levels are a lot less stressful in this game than in others. This must be your first MMORPG. So go play WoW, Rift, Aion, or Runes of Magic and then try to compare the leveling process. I personally think Anet did a very good job on the level system, even though I hate not being able to one hit things.
I would like Traits to not be bound to level system. I want to have access to all traits at any level. and be able to go anywhere and do all the events that I discover.
That doesnt mean gear and better models cant still be tied to levels, but thats optional grind.
I want full access to all the gameplay. I dont care about gear grind, but some people do. so leave that for the level grind fans and gear grind fans to do their grind for.
But dont limit the gameplay behind level gates. I have 2 80s. rest of my alts are in their 30s because thats when they unlock their elites. I simply want the freedom to play and have fun. I am not the type of person that needs somebody else to guide and define what is fun to me. So level gates dont make the game more fun to me. just more grindy.
Level gates are in place to allow people to understand the class better in a slower manner rather than overload them with information at the very start.. Time gates also allow a sense of progression of your character rather than no progression at all.
Not everybody needs levels to teach them how to play. thats when skill come in. people learn differently and in different speeds.
holding everybody to the same method grind just to teach them something they may already know is not fun. hence why we have SPvP and WvW that already scale up players. But scaled up players in WvW dont have traits and gear to stand a chance.
Levels are tutorial argument been debunked for years. Even in this game, with the scaling like stated above.
Players should learn by playing. Not by being forced to level.
Originally MMOs didnt have levels. so whats your argument on that?
You didn’t argue against the 2nd point I made that is the primary reason it exists in RPGs. It gives a sense of progression. A large number of games as soon as people reach the highest lvl they want to progress in a manner. If people can not progress via lvl they want to progress via gear. People do not want a gear treadmill in this game so make a choice. A lvl grind or a gear grind? which would you choose just to give people the prospect of progression?
than it could be hard, i play on eu
very hard then. Guess i will have to make a video one of these times when i am fighting a WvW warrior or SPvP warrior and show you how a true LB ranger plays and is capable of.
lol?
i´ve got -93% duration on cripple, chill an immo..try it
first gap closer you use is gs #3 cause of evade, no need to pop stabi and even if you knock me back i use gs #5 and dont need to pop stabiin a zerg for great justice is used for condi remove with soldier rune and heal, but it´´s not so strong for small scale groups but can work sure.
Ok lets go SPvP and see if you can pull it off. I will use my LB/GS ranger against your warrior.
Edit: would say WvW but i doubt our servers are competing (Fort Aspenwood here)
Also, how are you getting -93% condition duration if you using runes of Lyssa. Which doesn’t give any. Due note i am still using your example of 5 stabilities which doesn’t have any condition control at all.

“For Great Justice” are used in zerg builds, normaly not in small groups.
mace/shild and he got the shild bash (easy to avoid sure) but can help for the missing range and right used they are not easy to avoid. shild block and you cant hit your pont blank shot.
5 sec´s on weapons swap make it worth it.
most warris i know run with warri´s sprint or signet cdr with signet of rage most time swiftness so you not faster, than you need to kite that reduce your movment speed
If they are running a full signet build they have 0 access to condition removal therefor i can chill/cripple them to reduce their movement speed. Shield block i wouldn’t even use point blank shot on them. If they use shield block at such as a long range (for when i first use it to pop their traited stability) they are wasting it. All i would have to do is point blank shot, barrage, keep distance all within them getting 1600 units ( I am aware that 1500 units is the tooltip range while traited of a LB but it can shoot farther than that with a max range of just over 2000 units. tested in PVE using a Pact Bazooka and LB at Jormag) from me. Which is still to far for them to even do anything meaningful.
“For Great Justice” is used in small groups considering it can only effect 5 people. in a zerg it has just as much effectiveness as it would in a small group.
(edited by Suddenflame.2601)
a warri need no slot skill for dmg, a warri only take them for survivability, no good warri uses 3/5 for a gap closer combo, this is useless ony to escape, you want to tell me that the mace attacks are easy to aviod?
mace #3 is the fastes daze in the game and if you not spam skullcrack on cd i want to see you how to evade..
“For Great Justice” would like to have a word with you. Mace skills are easy to avoid and after this 12/10 they will even be more easy to avoid. Plus Mace has 0 gap closers (imagine that and what does LB excel at? how about keeping range). Your argument for an unstoppable warrior seems to keep failing here. Without any ranged control skills the warrior is lacking the ability to keep up with a LB ranger.
For instance a GS/Hammer warrior (a pretty common type of warrior in WvW). He has 1 long range gap closer and 1 medium ranged Gap closer plus stun. Even if he has access to 5 Stabilities a LB/GS ranger (common type of LB ranger) can still keep distance just due to the ranger able to stealth and change course, Point Blank shot while stability is down (short duration so doesn’t take long), or swoop far out of range while having 25% more movement speed that the warrior in your example does not have access to.
Edit: also have a block and a knockback, and a daze/stun on the ranger GS. So there is a lot of ways to counter your melee only “unstoppable” warrior.
(edited by Suddenflame.2601)
I won’t speak about PvP, but in PvE, it’ll never be accepted as part of the berserker-DPS-race dungeon meta simply because you need to be less than 600 range of melee to grant and receive boons, so you’ll miss out on the might stacking that is so vital to having a max dps group.
PVE dungeons i wouldn’t run a LB ranger in there. Not enough room to move and already too close for LB to be effective. LB would not be the most effective weapon in the Dungeon. It is viable, since it can be done and it wouldn’t be too bad but overall effectiveness it wouldn’t be that great.
this is just a big lol
and i tell you the warri will dont care, dolayk signet = stabi, balance stance= stabi, lyssa rune= stabi, trait = stabi
even if he got no stabi, gs 3/5 and he catch you your dead, your knock down/stealth wont help you, they give you time..time where you deal him no dmg and your cd´s went off
If he puts on stability i will just keep my distance. 3/5 i dodge 3 and 5 cause they come in pairs (not hard to do) and would you look at that i didnt die and he just over shot me cause he couldn’t stop mid spin. Your concept of an unstoppable warrior is ignorant. Their skills are easy to dodge don’t try to make it sound like they are can not be dodged or stopped. Stability is a powerful boon which any skill that gives it only gives it for a short duration and has long CD. I havn’t lost to a warrior 1v1 yet and don’t plan to any time soon. Also if he is using 2 slots for stability he is missing out on condition removal or damage.
edit: If he is also using the trait for stability i will make it pop up first by launching a knockback at long range. My skills are on a shorter CD then his and his are only good if he can get me to stand still for long enough to use them. He will run out of stability long before i run out of ways to escape his range. Your view only works if the warrior is already face to face with the ranger at close range. The point of LB is never to let that happen in the first place.
(edited by Suddenflame.2601)
this must be the worst warris #eu & #na
a warri that is not full brainless and on your skill lvl will kill you, stomp you, scratching on his head about what happend their and run to the next.
Dude there is dodges, knockbacks, and stealth that allow a ranger to keep distance between warriors and the ranger all on the LB. If you want to give it a shot I am more than willing to use my LB ranger against a warrior.
edit: 1 thing warriors lack is reliable gap closers. They can’t teleport or stealth which allows me to see them coming and avoid them easily. All their gap closers are telegraphed (like a drunken norn)
You would be surprised to learn that the majority of players attack the closest enemy to them. In (1700hrs) of playing this game I have seen more people ignore me as a ranger than any other class. I can get in usually 3 barrages before they even notice me (in WvW against zergs). Smaller groups of like 5 people don’t focus me till after i get off a barrage and have been shooting them for 10 secs. I use GS/LB in SPvP. I also tried TPvP and did the best on my entire team scoring 170 points while everyone on my team was 80 or below (terrible team I know I had restrain myself from yelling at them).
Also in SPvP i went against 2 shut down warriors (Hammer/GS combo) and beat them both and this was in a tight area (hedge area on that one map). I should really start recording some videos of some of the SPvP and WvW.
your arguments about spvp/tpvp are just bad, in tpvp the person that makes the most points are not the best, if you get a guard that stays on the mid point and hold it the complet game rezz about 3-4 mates and helps to kill a few can be still much better than you..
and spvp, oh come you can play celestil and 14/14/14/14/14 and still be a monster their most times.
when you meet a group that is not just rnd public or their will be a good thief / warr i give you about 5% chance that you can deal much dmg in this situation, if its a guild or organized your chance get down to about 1%
All depends on who is on my side doesn’kitten Warriors i slay they are easy targets espically with a LB. Thieves are thieves they can pretty much kill anyone or go 1v5 if they are permastealth. If it is a guild vs guild i will deal a large amount of damage. If its just me against a guild i would be running not fighting lol. Your not considering who is on your side fighting with you.
edit: If you saw that game I was the best player on my team considering the rest of my team was dead half the bloody time, and I was the person with highest kills and capture points (I soloed captured over half). SPvP i was only using the example of fighting 2 warriors at a time not how good my overall team did. And if you went full celestial against 2 warriors like that i doubt you would win.

An interesting build that I been using for 600+ hrs thought I would post it here for some people to look at. Just giving a few notes on it:
This is my build used for WvW and PvE. I use it for WvW zergs and Roaming so far hasn’t let me down at all.
Show me a well playing and winning tPvP LB ranger, or WvsW smallscale!.
I totally disagree with the guy saying LB is optimal or even good in PvP, but the anti-thief capabilities are too good to deny for WvW. 90% of roamers are backstab thieves, so to have a weapon that naturally counters them is dandy.
Small group WvW, LB is excellent if the other team ignores you at 1600 range and focuses on the guardian or where the stealthed thief is. If they engage you, LB quickly becomes mediocre, but that’s why you have a sword on swap. The other team might not be “well playing” if they let a LB ranger massacre them all in seconds, but the ranger can still be.
WTF on what server you play!?
no one focus a guard if you get soft targets like thief/ele..or a lb ranger Oo

I just press F1 on the target i want my pet to attack then choose the target i want to attack, and the pet continues attacking said target till target is out of range or dead no matter which stance my pet is in.
Even if the pet is dead you still get +5% damage when using the full set right?
Wiki says yes: The increased damage bonus for six superior runes applies even if your animal companion is downed.
The following breakdown is for SPvP and WvW rather than PvE which is basically easy mode which does not allow anyone to learn their class to its full potential.
Ranger is different from most of the other classes due to its learning curve. Unlike classes such as warrior where its easy to learn and master Ranger has a different style. From all my time playing (1700hrs) I have seen many rangers cause the class is easy to play. It maybe easy to play but it is one of the hardest classes to master.
Rangers have many disadvantages effecting them that no other class has.
Out of these issues Rangers have some interesting mechanics that allow for interesting combat.
Since there is a lack of condition removal you need to fight using a ranged/melee combination. To go a straight range or straight melee will allow to much standing still which will make it easier for AOE and conditions to stack. All ranger melee weapons have evades built in and if timed right can lead to many saves.
The key to a ranger (and any class for that matter) is to learn your opponent and to counter their actions. From all the classes I have played (6 classes: Guardian, warrior, ranger, mesmer, elementalist, and engineer) I find that Ranger is the least forgiving class when it comes to a single mistake. Such as using Point Blank Shot on a person with stability can cost you dearly.
Utilizing your skills is key and knowing your opponent. Keeping a close eye on their boons and conditions to determine on the fly and knowing what needs to be done. In SPvP my ranger I find it easiest to fight necros and warriors even thou I have 0 condition removal. Mesmers being the hardest to fight (havn’t found a class yet that actually has it easy against mesmers).
If you disagree on any of these points please state why in a clear concise manner since people will have had different experiences.
It was an unscheduled maintenance meaning it wasn’t a planned one. This usually occurs if there is a hardware problem rather than a software. A software would require planning and usually is planned fixes (aka patches). Server maintenance for Anet is one that they can usually perform while the game is running (as shown by the months that the servers have been up without disruptions). They are using the same tactics as they used in GW1.
So based on the evidence present it is most likely something physical happened which caused a physical issue that had to be dealt with immediately. This is speculation based on how fast they reacted and that it was not a planned event.
Based on this there should not be performance increases, graphical bugs (unless hardware caused more damage then expected), UI bugs, or TP bugs.
Fix’d it for you
Literally everything they had to do to fix that path was make the spiders despawn after a wipe. That was everything that was wrong with it. Not to mention, F/U also had interesting mechanics and nice boss fights. Vevina was top-notch.
That same bug that broke TA F/U is still in the game by the way. Everywhere in Arah, spiders and other popups pop before they should, and it has been in the game for like 7-8 months. But I guess removing paths is easier than fixing bugs.
I’ve never liked any of the paths of TA, it’s been my least favorite dungeon over all. The new path is like a breath of fresh air. The boss mechanics, and the mechanics over all are just more interesting to me. The fact that there is stuff to do after the dungeon ends is cool too.
I agree there should be a way to skip cut scenes, however, I probably wouldn’t.
I liked TA F/U a lot. Vevina was the second most fun boss in the game in my opinion. She kept you on your toes and it was an engaging fight overall. It really sucked that they removed the option to take the path from the game (the path is still there, just can’t go in it).
I don’t mind the boss mechanics and the unskippable mobs, I do mind that you are forced to listen to boring dialogue and watch cutscenes. The whole dungeon looks like it’s made to play once and then never again because of it.
To answer your question about the bugs. In coding it is a hell lot easier to replace code than to fix bugs. Hell if i was given the choice of fixing bugs or get rid of the entire path for a less buggy path i would take the less buggy path any day.
In coding I end up writing code, deleting it, writing it again but differently, deleting, rewrite it again differently, delete, over and over till:
Due to my pet I am able to take on 2 targets at the same time. My pet attacks the one target while I attack the other.
How do you get your pet to attack the “other” target and not the one you are attacking? Please do tell.
Pressing F1 while targeting the one you want your pet to attack will get your pet to attack that target and only that target even if you change your target.
edit: fyi targets going into stealth will not break this from what I seen. The pet will stand around and wait for the target to reappear then reengage. It only resets if the target moves out of range from what I seen.
This does not work for me.
Not sure how to help you there but it has always worked for me. Only other option is if we were both in game I can show you it and see if we can get it to work for you.

Until bosses are improved so that builds besides berserker are viable, the Trinity still rules all. The Trinity is the best system at the moment, and Anet is proving that with their non-trinity system. When conditions/bunker/support builds become viable in PvE, only then will Anet’s combat system truly shine. As it stands now though, the combat system is the worst combat I’ve seen in a very long time.
One of two things will happen if Anet ever decides to do something about this.
1.) Anet will improve bosses so that berserkers alone cannot defeat it. They need support/bunker/condition builds in the group.
2.) Anet will add the trinity. (This is a lot less likely). (.0000008% chance less likely).
It’s just a matter of when Anet will improve the bosses, because time is ticking, and people that don’t use berserker gear are leaving or have already left.
I have never used full berzerker and never will and i am still here with nearly 10k of AP. Content doesn’t need to be done by zerkers only. I also know a large amount of people who are not using zerker gear and are not leaving. Your speculating too much. Guardians are used in dungeon runs as support (which is why they are brought not cause of their damage). Mesmers are brought in for support. All classes can control.
GW2 Trinity is: DPS/Control/Support. All classes are capable of doing all of these no matter what armour they are using. Warriors in those zerker runs are used for DPS. Guardians are used for Control and Support. Mesmers as well. This makes for a balanced team. Is it the only combination? No it is not but it is the one with the highest DPS via theory crafting (which doesn’t always make it so in practice). I have had mixed groups with my guild that achieved times on par with top zerker groups.
Incorrect, you need other profession buffs for max DPS. You are also speculating too much about some things. War/war/war/mes/guard is folklore advanced by strife, someone who not only never completely solved gw2 (that would happen months later), he also quit the game.
Actually i never stated what was going to be in the party you assumed that. I only brought up 3 classes and never stated what I use. Your also stating that 1 person who determined your point of war/war/war/guard/mes party then quit the game which you would also be wrong cause more than one person has come to the same conclusion, and some before others. Your speculating far to much and assuming too much. Shall I point out all of what your assuming? Cause it is an awfully long list, and I just pointed out 4 assumptions you have made.
I been here since the very start of the game and played almost every day so I seen and read a lot of things. Hell I even knew about the first guy to lvl80 and how he used crafting to do it which then was quickly realized that crafting was the fastest way to level your character.

SHORTBOW
Compare longbow and shortbow damage to justify the current state of the shortbow.
The Dreamer was my first legendary, and though I still use it, I now switch to an exotic longbow when I need real damage inflicted. Is it just a perception that the shortbow is underpowered?
I only play PvE with my ranger
Shortbow is about condition damage not direct damage. It is hard to compare them like that.
I do not trait into my pet I run a 30/30/10/0/0 build and my pets are a Fern hound and a spider. My pets tank and help me considerably in WvW and in PvE. Micromangement is needed rather then just letting your pet do what ever. Due to my pet I am able to take on 2 targets at the same time. My pet attacks the one target while I attack the other. On a 1v1 situation my pet can be used as a protective barrier between myself and the other person. My pet doesn’t die easily even thou i haven’t traited in it. Guess I should make some videos one of these times along with my friend about the effectiveness that rangers are capable of.
Questions I have:
Thx Anet…
You destroyed appearence of genial glowing effect of sylvari cutural armors. My t2 thief, and t3 ranger now look worst than ever before. Changing dyes didn’t help for the appearance…
There should be graphic option (for cring ppl who dislike that) to turn that off and effect should be as it was.
Or an option for ppl like me who very likes this effect. My sylvari are sad now…
Already post about this with a reply from a Dev about it.

Read this.
We should get rid of level 400 foods in wvw because crafting Cooking to 400 is too much of a grind.
so true and provides an unfair advantage to people who spent the time to craft it. Its unfair to the people who didn’t spend a lot of time cooking.
