could u look at issue with single target skills not hitting the target that u have selected its dire to try and fight any profession with pets/clones/turrets as they often take the ability with a body block

Intended I believe, so tankier players can physically (though not under Australian lag easily) get in front of skills to save other players. There are some skills that ignore this as well (such as ele air 2 and 3 on sceptre)

[Stealth] A Problem, Breakdown and Solutions

I agree with this topic, however I don’t believe that backstab should be tonned down.

If you take away some of the thieves abilities to stealth, you take away his ability to use Backstab, thus double nerfing it.

Some of the ideas I have to bring to the topic are:
Remove skills 2- 5 when stealthed and replace with new stealth abilities. These could be generic across all weapons, leaving skill 1 as stealth skill
E.G.
1 Backstab (D/D e.g.)
2 “Hear I Am” – Leave stealth gaining Might and Fury for x seconds and reinforcing allies with Might and Fury

3 Double Dagger Strike (Main / offhand specific) – Do something cool with 2 daggers, maybe a low – medium damage skill that goes through block?

4 (a)“Psst, take this” / (b)Pickpocket -
4 (a) Drop your stolen skill on the ground for 30 seconds for your allies (or yourself) to use
4 (b) If you haven’t got a stolen item this skill appears instead: Steal from your foe, melee range, doesn’t work with steal traits and doesn’t break stealth.

5 Shadow Master – Lose all stealth trait effects and boons but gain an additional 3 seconds of stealth, additionally all skills, utilities and weapon swap are unusable (become locked for the duration)

Rank isn’t meant to be a display of skill. It’s for personal and aesthetic progress. It’s the same as levels in PvE only it takes 1000 times longer. Rank grinding already slows to the pace of a korean grinder.

That’s funny. Our old guild leader loved Korean grinders. We said, if you love grinding so much why don’t you play sPvP.
He replied, what do you get?
We told him, skins and gems if you are good at tPvP.
Skins? Not better gear, not gold? Just skins?

And I guess you can figure out the rest, he never played sPvP, just sent the guild into WvW.

sPvP-Why is it Unpopular?

Because all you get is Fun for Time. But if you can have Fun and get gold for the same time input, why bother?

Me and my friend pvp a fair amount. But never more then 1 roation of the maps and never in tPvP anymore.
No tPvP due to:
1. You need a team, and our team mates left the game, our guild we joined for pvp is now pve / wvw.
2. You need to run an exact build and play style. (where is the fun in that? Cause I want to be D/D roam all the time)
3. No map rotation. There is only so long you can play the same map in a row. And that is 2 or 3 times at the absolute most. After that it is a repetitive boring task. And when your fun factor reaches non existent why do that when you can play something else?

My favourite target issue is when your dodge skills go directly backward from the target (even though using double tap in a direction not backwards) or when your ground target skills act as target skills (that isn’t weird at all).

+1 for not targeting pets. +1billion for removing Mesmer clones

Yea, Lightning Flash Fire Grab with Cleansing fire. Also to apply burning when not in fire line whilst still having it as condition removal backup (otherwise you would take sig of fire).

For one dagger heal 5, you can throw 2 scepter water 3 or four dagger water 2, that makes dagger water 5 pretty crappy in terms of heal.
That’s why I use the focus …

Yes, what makes dagger water 5 good is the condition removal.

The focus has that with a 25s cooldown
But only for the player, admittedly.

Mhm and it is 3 conditions. Not 1. It is a better Cleansing Fire IMO. Scepter 2 is a better heal then Dagger 5 and almost as good as water swap (which requires 15 points in water or 10 in water to get comparable healing out of sceptre 2, unless running 20-30 in arcane, then water swap heal is better). I also run focus in both PvE and sPvP. Gave up on daggers along time ago, too many bugged and lag affected skills

FYI Asland is a luck Dragon and I only use 0-10 points in arcane (so sue me)

When I said Scepter 3 is better then healing ripple, it was coming from my own builds and bias. EA is better then healing ripple for the above mention x 30 x x 30 build. but healing ripple would be better then Scepter 3 if there were 15 points free, which there isn’t (unless dropping 30 arcane, going down to 20 arcane, in which case you could have both healing ripple, condition removal and 20% cd on water traits. 16 sec trident with 12? sec ripple and condition cleanse)

1 Water dodge with EA

Requires 30 points in arcana, so you lose tons of health, healing power and the 15 points heal in water. Not quite worth it.

2 Scepter Water 3, better then Dagger water 5

Utterly wrong. You obviously don’t know anything about the elementalist.

Water trident: 1,5k base heal + 1.0 scaling with heal power (that’s pretty low), additionally it doesn’t remove any conditions and deals extremly low dmg, 20 seconds cd

Cleansing Wave: 1,3k base heal + 1.0 scaling with heal power (pretty low as well), DOES remove a condition and has a far greater range to heal allies. Stronger than water trident, because it removes conditions. 40 seconds cd

Healing ripple: 1,3k base heal + 1.0 scaling, removes a condition when combined with the fitting water trait, has the lowest cd (10-15 seconds) and is instant. Due to that, it’s the strongest heal the elementalist has.

So the elementalist has 3 heals, together they heal 4,1k + 3.0. Healing ripple and Cleansing waves are useful AoE heals, Water Trident is not (180 radius). 4,1k isn’t a lot, it is only strong because of the low cd heal of Healing ripple. Don’t forget, healing is the only defense an elementalist actually has. And you can’t really get a lot of healing power as you lose then your entire dmg.
The number 6 healing skills of elementalists (Glyph, Signet and Aether renewal) are already weaker than the healing skills of other professions, because the elementalist has more heals.

If you wanna complain now that an elementalist uses these 3 skills, his healing skill number 6 and the ticks of regeneration and then he suddenly is back to 100% health – don’t forget, we only have 12k base hp, without 30 points in water only 13-14k hp at all.

Water trident is better then Cleansing Wave and almost as good as Healing Ripple (1 second less cd unkitten th are traited and more healing, then it is nowhere near as good). Take a chill pill broskie. When do you ever use your cleansing wave to remove a condition anyway? You probably don’t, just spam away with healing ripple and dodge for burst heal.

Bleed on swap, not one I would have gone for. There is poison on swap (one I use as its one of the only poisons sources for Ele) or the 3 stacks of might on swap (very powerful) which would offset taking 10 out of fire.

Also, I’d advise looking at renewing stamina over vigorous sceptre. Vigorous sceptre is 25% faster recharge, vigor is 100% faster, but you need to crit to gain its effects (currently low in your build). Also, if your vigour upkeep is high enough from your cantrips (unlikely) then you wouldn’t need either (vigorous sceptre doesn’t stack with vigor).

Finally you can up your critical chance to about 10% with a Rampagers Jewel for the Clerics Amulet. 125 healing power isn’t too much of a loss and fury will buff the crit chance to 30%.

both fire grab and RTL aren’t hard to land if you know what you are doing. Did you know that you can start fire grab up at any range, in any direction, as long as you’ll be close enough and facing the right direction at the end of the channel? If you can’t hit it, that’s entirely your fault (unless you have like 300 ms in which case, do you really expect them to alter the skill range to cater to people who lag like that?)

the issue was that the mobility on elementalist was simply TOO much. They could disengage TOO easily. They could come in, do whatever they want to do, and the RTL would simply put way too much distance in between you and the elementalist to do anything. It’s a good thing that it was nerfed. You don’t like it? Anyone who wasn’t an elementalist sighed in relief.

You mentioned that you don’t like having to change all the alignments. Think. You only have 5 skills changing per element. do you think elementalist could be the sophisticated, all around class that it is only by having one element active? And if it could, can you imagine how broken it would be? You may not like the variety but most people do. Again, it is not something ANet can cater to. You’re definitely able to go into 30 air and be able to switch into air ALL the time (every time you crit, air attunement CD is reset) but yes, you would be a glass cannon.

And why shouldn’t you be? You should be sacrificing your tankiness for a mad damage like that. Have you done PVP with 30 into air? The damage is absolute madness. Mobility and tankiness being added in would make it overpowered.

My point is:

Many of these changes were done for good reasons and so far really, it has been an overall change for the good. Instead of having a mindset like ‘oh I just want more’ or ‘I want it done my way’ maybe it’d be good to really think about why these changes were applied. Playing the victim will only ruin your own gaming experience.

I do have 300 MS, closer to 450 or 500 ms because, said from a very dev of this very game when asked if there would be Oceanic Servers something along the lines of: “We have talked with many Oceanic players and the feed back is that the lag is a not an issue”. (note, not actually what they said, but that was a year ago, so forgive me for forgetting exactly. Maybe I should have made it my signature). Though, our country is pretty backwards when it comes to doing anything on the internets and setting up a server here probably would have cost more then NCSoft syphoned for its new game.

I really don’t care about disengaging, when I go into a fight, I’m in it until I’m outnumbered 3 to 1, then I’m dead, if I can hold your point for a few seconds longer, that a lot more points more my team has over yours (not to mention we now know where your team is). Using RTL and having a 40 second CD almost all the time is just ridiculous.

Also, I play with S/F (and have since before the RTL nerfs) which has 0 movement skills (not even kidding, it doesn’t even have swiftness on the weapon lol) and have been able to defeat D/D bunker eles up till they nerfed my 100% protection, fury, swiftness and fire shield duration (burning hurts, doesn’t matter how many cleanses you’ve got, you hit me and its another short stack, not to mention the poison).

I didn’t say I didn’t like the variety. I said I didn’t like the lack of variety (you know, being able to have a powerful fire and air attunements and having water and earth as not so powerful attunements).

I have gone 30 in air, with 30 in fire in PvP. Sure you do a fair amount of damage, but you also fall over in the slightest breeze, and most of your spike damage comes from DT / Pheonix then popping air. The damage from Fresh Air is only madness while its broken (bugged). The Dragons Tooth / Phoenix damage followed by a Fresh Air change is madness (though you could do this without Fresh Air), good luck landing DT though.

I know the changes were for a good reason, otherwise they wouldn’t have been changed, obviously I don’t use a /d so “I want it done my way” doesn’t even apply to me. To benefit the ele community, RTL needs 1 CD. The amount of time the skill misses, due to rubber band, lag or a small rock in your road is just stupid. Why is this stupid? Because you are using it to engage and get punished anyway. If you are using it the way the devs want you to, then you get punished for with a 40 sec cd, then something is wrong with the skill / changes to said skill. 1200 range with a 25 or 30 second cd all around would have been fine. 1500 with a 20 sec cd was broken. Obviously you think 1200

Ever seen someone run past you when you used RTL and all they had was swiftness? (move 1200, walk 3 steps, rubber band back past the guy who was behind you, have your friends laugh as you were trying to show off by beating them in a race :/)

i wanna sneak up on somebody and smack them with a churning earth out of nowhere. if you think thieves back stab is bad just think about churning earth then immediately go to fire for fire grab or switch to air with a scepter for the lightning burst.

You would defiantly need to do this from range and teleport in, as the first CE hit would reveal you.

If your lucky enough you can land a DT in combination with an immobilize.

However, I think Fire Grab could use some work. ATM if you are lagging it will miss regardless of where you are relative to your target. You have to predict where they will be in order to hit them.

Win through persistence and agile fingers.

Not me playing, but it’s still a pretty fun fight to watch. Nothing that player does is particularly difficulty, and I would say is a good example of staff playstyle. He lucked out in that his opponent didn’t have enough DPS to outright burst him to death.

Just FYI, this doesn’t work so well in tPvP or even sPvP that you give a dam about (which no one seems to, just looks like pvers going for dailys atm). There is a point to cap and all, and not being on the 2meter 2 meter (exaggerated, but seriously there is no room for full effective kiting there) area means you don’t cap it or defend it. For that reason my friend runs a support healing staff build in pvp, and will not fight a 1v1 unless he has to. He is mid support, he goes with the bunker and gives the bunker several more heals.

Back before our 400 nerfs he could 1v1 anyone with staff and never die (unless a very lucky thief could 1 shot him at the right moment). Apparently healing was OP, I would say so.

The swirling winds change I’ve seen requested before. The Slippery Speed and Freezing Speed sound like cool abilities, though on the sceptre I’m not to sure. Most of the sceptre is ranged based.

I assume for Gale you mean that it now works similar to Fire Grab? Or would it still be targeted? The Fire Grab type skills I hate as they always miss. Focus skills used to fire backwards, that was removed a long time ago (so did most of the signets now they have long casts and will miss when you try to cast behind you even if the enemy moves infront of you when it would have ended).

In any case I believe that the Focus needs to be made more viable outside of certain instances in PvE. Personally I try to use it, but the moment I’m up against a x/D ele I pretty much lose, due to the 2.5k extra heal (not to mention water swap heal + dodge heal). Before my 100% protection got nerfed I could beat most eles with S/F, not so much anymore.

The disengage from this skill would be a welcome option as it is sceptre is a midrange weapon, but no disengage skills.

You lose the 15 water heal, but gain dun dun dahhh a better heal anyway (a much more powerful heal but longer cd 20/16 from memory).

Also at requiring 30 in fire, you might have been thinking of Fury stacking which requires 30 in fire.

This is leading right back to my point I always make.

The nodes are too small. The reason the AOE feels too strong is bc the nodes are too small. The reason grenades are insanely effective is because on a small node they hit most of the area. A chill grenade WILL hit the whole area, traited bombs are almost the size of the node, traited Necro marks are the size of the node, etc.

Not to mention that if the nodes were bigger (and even allowed for some obstructions, say waterfall on foe fire having its range extended include some of the water) would make some weapons more viable. For example, the Ele Staff is harder to play in PvP due to it being a ranged weapon. The points are so small that this weapon must be played in melee – 600. If the points included some of the obstructions (with easy routes to get in and out) then it could be more exciting fighting over the point from both the players point and from the steaming point. Watching 2 people duel is 1 thing, watching them duel and using obstructions to keep themselves alive when down to the last 100 hp it much more exciting.

Currently another issue is that a fair few AoEs cover the whole point, or most of it. Having a larger point would bring out more skilful play than just placing aoes and forgetting about them later, knowing they will hit the enemy.

Take necro base hp …. swap with elemenalist … give necro more max life force meter and 100% at start of match … everyone is now happy.

Bunker eles can be easy to beat. They take a long time, but still, pretty easy. I have run 2 builds that used to beat them, though they have both pretty much been nerfed by the same nerfs that affected the bunker build lol (good bye 100% protection, I will miss you).

I’m sure Anet nerfed mist form to make you unable to do anything but dodge, though I could be wrong, I don’t use this skill. You may be thinking of Obsidian Flesh, the best invulnerability, hardly seen in the PvP community though.\

I agree with some of what you say though. I especially hate stealth it is just cheap. Ever fought a Mesmer who doesn’t use stealth? It is 1000 times more fun. I wouldn’t even care if summoning a clone made you lose target, but going full invisible and using your NPCs in a PvP game is just lame (applies to both Mesmer and thieves).

What is annoying about heals is the Eles healing in Evasive Arcana when combined with water attunement heal. Changing to water and using water dodge (with both the traits on) is the same as using your heal skill. What’s even more annoying is that not going down 30 arcane and 15 water makes you so much weaker that it isn’t even funny. Even 15 water and not 30 arcane you feel so much weaker against another ele with 30 arcane. And trying to take a focus, well, you kind of need that 15 water as focus has no heal (unlike the other water 5 weapon skills)

Actually 10 in arcana with scepter isnt that bad. If you get used to it it wont feel that long.

Indeed, especially if you were using fresh air. I run a 10 arcane build most of the time without fresh air and it is fine (focus offhand reinforces this a bit with its slow cds)

You call that a burst?

First of all get a Focus.
Zap him a little with Arc Lightning to add Vulnerability and start shaving off some of that Death Shroud health.
Then Gale – Lightning Strike – Dragon’s Tooth – Phoenix – Comet – Arcane Blast – Lightning Flash – Arcane Wave – Hurl

This is potentially the highest burst, but there’s really no need to involve Earth attunement, Water autoattack is very good and even the Water Trident packs a 2-3k crit when traits align.

Why this works? Damage increasing factors:
20% – Tempest defence
20% – Bolt to the heart
10% – Scholar runes
10% – Stone splinters
5% – Vital striking
5% – Force sigil
If you play it right most of these will have an effect at one point or another, adding the combo up to 22k+ damage (Heavy dummy dies before you can unload everything)

You must have some low ping to land a DT off Gale. Normally I imob then DT / Phoenix then Gale.

Bloodmage spec (which sounds 10 times cooler than Condimentalist), that being full Rampager perma 25bleed+burn using does incredibly good single target PvE damage as long as your team doesnt use much bleeds and burn. With sharing poison Thief or Poison Filed supplied its even more impressive.

Of course its a very niche.

Yea if you can go Asura for the Radiation Field plus stack condition duration you can get a really crazy source of Poison. Almost makes me wish I hadn’t deleted my Asura Elementalist for a Human one. As it is I tend to run with Reaper of Grenth instead but that’s a huge recast for limited duration, but also is extra Chill.

There is also an onswap sigil to get poison, though I assume you would use the on crit bleed one for the bleeds when not in earth. I use the onswap poison in PvP, very usefull

Maybe you should have made this on the bug forum. Shame to see some of these bug still here since release. Hopefully we can get some fixes with this 2 week update (instead of monthly update). I’m sure the devs said they could push updates whenever they wanted so I’m not sure why we have to wait 2 weeks at a time.

This thread basically sums up that the ele used to be fun when it was an Avatar. Now its “slow” is the only word that comes to mind. There was a time I could play any other class and get this felling. Now I get it from the Ele itself. With the shorter RTL cd d/d was bearable. Before it had 3 skills that missed 90% of the time, now one of those skills goes on 40 sec cd (due to 90% miss chance, even below 1200 range). Fire grab, always misses unless you can predict where your target will be in the next second or 2, Air 2, same as previous, RTL misses 90% of the time (usually more) and goes 600-900 movement (used to go 900-1200 movement). I’m not sure if the devs are aware of how the lag affects certain skills, but anything that has a “you must hit clause to get 50% less cd” needs to go, unless the skill is easy to hit (even under the effects of lag).

Our defences aren’t active (clones, stealth, extra life bar) they are passive heals that got toned down a lot, a fair while ago now. But we didn’t receive a damage buff to compensate. Our mobility got reduced and thus our fun … no compensation. Half our skills bug out, no compensation. Our only other offhand not useful except in some dungeons and some fractals … not made more viable. BW1 Ele, that was an elementalist. What we have now is something that can heal, move and fight but not well. Its like playing Brawl, choosing Mario (the all rounder) and having half his damage removed.

What I dislike about the ele is having (key word having) to change attunements all the time. There is nothing in the trait lines that push you toward being a master of Fire and Air or Earth and Air or any of the other combos. There is your fast at changing attunements and your slow at changing attunements but can do some other stuff instead.

Going down the slow at changing attunements path and you get little in return (fresh air is a good start in this direction), but now we are pushed into 30 air +x or 30 Arcane +x. I can’t go 30 Fire and 30 Water and be good at AoE damage and healing, for that I would need a staff and I would need 20 in Arcane. I can’t go Fire and Air and get super damage because the slightest breeze would blow me over and I don’t gain all that much for putting the points into fire, I could just go into arcane and gain a lot more (faster change, vigor, extra heal / blind / blast finisher)

Now for some suggestions.
25 [element] Trait:
Do current and as long as you have 30 Points in [this element] your [this element] Attunment recharges 60% faster (does not stack with other attunement speed).

That means if I go 30 fire and 30 air, then fire and air recharge at 9 seconds, the others recharge at 15 and I don’t have to go into arcane.

I want devs to PLAY THE STUPID GAME and realize how broken it is. THEN i would like the devs to FIX IT before my THIRD guild disappears from the game….

We ported our PvP Aion guild to Guild Wars 2, only me and my friend left now. Funny, they played Aion PvP religiously but wouldn’t give sPvP a go, only played WvW all the time. My current guild I joined due to it being mostly oceanic and PvP based, yet, they all seem to be PvE now.

Aether McLoud.1975, thanks for your input! As we just shipped a patch today, I suspect we will want to wait and see how the meta adapts before thinking about making any changes. Maybe with the changes we put out, bunker eles will feel better to play. Give it a little time, and maybe we can revisit this.

Thanks for the reply. Have the devs thought about only using the double-cooldown-if-not-hit feature in pvp? I feel 40 seconds is barely… bearable… in pvp because the maps aren’t as big, but in pve and wvw where maps are HUGE 40 seconds out of combat RTL really hurts the fun of playing a dagger ele. Getting around the map faster equals less downtime and more action time, so more fun overall

I don’t think having out of combat RTL be 20 seconds base cooldown, and only using the 40 seconds when you’re in combat and not hitting something would be unbalanced (even in pvp).

Would be nice if they got rid of it completely. 1 cd for the skill, having a 600 range engage that never hits and always has a 40 sec cd is just annoying.

Move cleansing wave to focus, reset all RTL cd to 20 seconds. Seriously, the focus needs some love. If it is used by maybe 3 people in pvp then it needs to be made more viable.

As a Grenade spamming PvE engineer(also warrior, thief and elementalist. the rest are not played as much) who does not play sPvP I have to ask. Is the typical PvPer really so terrible than they will just stand in one spot and let an engineer spam grenades on them?

How else do you suggest preventing the engineer from capping the point?

Mauvering around the point maybe? That might work. Or, if you play a thief, 6x dodge, because that isn’t ridiculous. Dodge, Dodge, Change to same weapon set (why is this even possible?), Dodge (energy), Heal (dodge heal lol), Dodge (adventurers), Dodge (normal recharge)

Personally I would prefer this to be PvP not PvAI. Currently there is so much crap going on, it reminds me of alliance battles, watching 1 red dot with 1billion triangles coming your way.

I also find it funny that Mesmers pets have aggro, either that or 1 randomly wails on me for no reason when the Mesmer is fighting someone else. And it only takes 2 hits to kill the mirros … 2x dragons tooth with zerkers on an ele is totally they way they were designed. While I’m all for them not dying so I don’t get covered in confusion, I hate it when playing an ele. With the ele, you auto attack damage is so low (even with zerkers) that when hitting one of these things with full traits for hp it looks like a real player.

Normally I can tell the difference because the real Mesmer is a chicken who runs off and lets his pansy men fight you. But every now and then the clones do some pretty stupid looking stuff that makes you think, nah that is defiantly the real one. So you proceed to immobilise it (30 sec cd) and dragons tooth into phoenix (30 sec cd) then watch it not die, and your like yep defiantly the real one. Finally kill the bugger and nope, you just waisted all your cds. 1 or 2 hits Anet, 1 or 2 hits. 2 or 3 Dragons tooth != 1 or 2 hits.

Personally I think some of the later patches have been good, finally seen more then just FOTM D/D ele (they were easy to beat anyways, finally getting some challenges). There are some things I didn’t like, such as increasing Sig of Airs cd, but not reducing a cd elsewhere, also the bugs that came with the patch. I believe this is just oversights mainly, not creating all the possible test cases.

What I don’t like about the balance patches is that there are very few bug fixes, mainly relating to the lists of bugs on each of professions forums. Some have been there since release and seem like easy fixes, of course that would depend on the way the game is coded. If they used classes and variables at all, most of the changes would be a simple change x variable to y. However, from looking into the skills and recent changes it appears that this is not the way the game is coded. You can generally tell when they change a CD of a skill and the Tooltip doesn’t change and it isn’t affected by traits correctly. Seems like everywhere that cd is affected is hardcoded in, that must be a nightmare to sort out.

@ Strang: Endurance should be regenerating at +100%, then, which it does not. Vigorous scepter only gives +50%; they should stack to 100%.

Arcane Power is staying on the list due to issues regarding skills that inflict conditions using more than one charge.

@ TGSlasher: Is fresh air still bugged in PvP? Have not had the opportunity to test it there. It’s still bugged in PvE.

Dunno, haven’t used it in ages. Haven’t really played in a week either, been playing War Thunder instead, patiently waiting for focus fixes since release, looks like the patients has run out.

Perosnally I believe the attunement buff should be removed from enemy eyes, but replaced with a more obvious animation for what attunement you are currently in. A small bracelet of earth / fire / water / air, whoopee, totally a master of the elements. Arms completely covered in fire, now that’s what I’m talking about.

I remember Hunters Shot, it does bleeding (GW1).
Personally I hate stealth. I use a sceptre focus, which gives you 3 skills to fight stealth and 2 auto attacks that you have to move your camera into the ground to get them to fire forward and not down. Once someone stealths against a S/F its gg. Whereas with a dagger main hand you can auto attack someone till your heart is content.

I have no problems hitting targets. It’s good as it is now. A skill that does so much damage shouldn’t be easy to hit. If a target is getting on your flanks or behind your doing it wrong anyway.

LOL “so much damage”. LOL “should not be easy to hit”. I present you: backstab. No opportunity cost, no resource cost, no cooldown, extremely easy to hit.

Also you don’t even seem to use the skill. It fails to hit when the target is right in front of you, but standing on a tiny rock. It fails to hit when the target is strafing. It fails to hit a FRAKKING lot.

If you lag, it fails to hit anything unless predicting where they will be in a second or 2. Not to mention the above mentioned backstab … your in stealth when you do it, you don’t have to maneuverer behind the enemy during the fight, you just wander off in your 20 seconds of stealth and come back later for a backstab open.

To be fair, rocket boots takes up a very valuable slot (especially on an Engineer who has only 5 weapon skills) and RTL is a skill on a weapon with a lot of utility.

I don’t know about that, Mist form takes one of our slots, and it is worst then DUN DUN DAHHH Obsidian Flesh (focus earth 5). Cleansing Fire takes one of our slots and it is worse then DUN DUN DAHH Magnetic Wave? (focus earth 4). But the focus is bad in general, minus these 2 skills.

RTL used to go forwards (more horizontal then now) now if you use it on a slight slop you take multiple fall damage calculations and die.

I run something simlar 20 10 30 0 0 and 10 spare (usually arcane or air). But more for burst then conditions. I also use the Focus, that will incite the rage.
