Level 80 Guardian Stat Priority

If you have been running Zerker stats and like them I would stick with them. I only run zerker on my guard in PvE, although there are a few nitch situations in fractals where having a cleric set can be helpful.

Zerker works great for PvE and WvW in a roaming capacity. I wouldn’t try to run into the middle of a zerg in them though.

I don’t get their obsession with making necro shouts garbage against single target or fewer enemies.

It’s not like they make warrior/guardian shouts less effective by ally hit.

Looking at the published shouts, they’re barely a step above ranger shouts (absolutely worthless). And the cast times, once again PvP garbage taking a dump all ove PvE viability.

Let’s be honest, the last thing you need is skills that are good for trash clearing but bad at bosses. Bosses are what matter.

I’m also highly unimpressed with most of the traits, they seem really niche and PvP centric, same thing that happened to mesmers.

Oh, guess what, the dev working for mesmer and necro is the same guy that apparently only cares for WvW/sPvP and thinks of PvE as an afterthought.

Kinda to be expected, Anet has never given up on the whole e-sports thing. The whole time I was watching I was thinking, “yeah, pretty good for pvp, but not that great for pve”

too bad twitch/reddit and youtube weren’t as popular back then. Imagine the kitten storm gw1 would’ve had for their pve?!

Good point. Ever think if there weren’t so many videos showing how good a person could be at the game we wouldn’t have an anti-zerker thread every other day?

So I finally had to say something about the dungeons on this game. Early it was interesting when people didn’t figure out the meta of the game yet. (early I mean when the game launched)

Then people without the knowledge of the meta were able to finish the dungeons without having a hard time in 30 minutes

Then people figured out that zerker win and I de-installed the game because all the fun was gone.

During the this time I’ve been on and off on the game, and whenever I came back hoping they would have fixed this rushing past dungeons by stacking and killing all… much to my surprise they haven’t

To me that says something more deeper about the philosophy of Anet about the direction of the game, they don’t want you to experience a challenging game but a race to collect content.

At this poin I rather stick to MOBAs, because at this point they are the only games that see competitive balance as an attraction (like GW1). Having constant rebalancing of the meta game should be a priority, and it also keeps the game fresh, keeps people interested and always looking for new things and not cookie cutter builds.

I REALLY hopped for GW2 to follow on the footsteps of GW1, too bad that just wasn’t the case.

Happy Trails

People speedran dungeons in gw1 within minutes aswell.

I was just about to say this. I remember the first time I did this in Guild Wars 1. I was like, “OMG, what is this foul sorcery, that was supposed to take hours!”

think about ot HOTs has tribes perfect place to rebring in the armor sets even possibly more versions of tribal like armor heavy light medium versions of it and so on. and probly the old version and then a old version on steroids.

Anything is possible. Since HoT is a full on expansion, we have to see new armor or weapon skins in there as well as the specializations.

Nemesis explains really well what’s wrong with the berserker meta in his new video!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=js5ltIBr73s

LOLOLOLOL. Video made me laugh. If content takes longer than it already does… I’ll quit and Anet won’t get anymore of my money.

That guy just wants the Trinity in GW2 because he mains a Necro. He sounds really bitter.

He’s right on everything he says about the meta though.

No, he isn’t

Yes he is. Nemesis is a really good player if not the best necro. He always manages to stay alive when the berserkers are wiping the floor with their dead bodies so he knows his kitten really well.

LoL, you have got to be kidding. I am just gonna assume you are a troll like him.

Just because you have a Youtube channel doesn’t mean you are a good player. His entire video is just his opinion on things that he has no idea what he is talking about. You can defend him all you like. It doesn’t make him or you right.

Heads up, anytime someone with low damage joins an inexperienced zerker only group and isn’t bringing any kind of support they cause the zerkers to die. Which is why most inexperienced groups don’t like to carry people.

I could probably carry him through anything, but since he is on my block list, it would never happen.

You can talk all you want, your opinion doesn’t make your right either.

No, its my opinion, but at least I am not making a fool of myself on youtube talking trash about better players. I could point to at least a dozen examples in his video. And joining groups of people to troll them when he knows he don’t meet the requirements they are asking for. Just makes him look worse then he is.

Ascended Gear suggestions

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Talyn.3295

Talyn.3295

Ascended gear doesn’t need stat swapping. It is fine as it stands. The bonus is small, but we made that gear because we wanted it. As of right now I have crafted three full sets of ascended armor. I also have enough tokens from running dungeons to get any set of armor with any stats on it any time I want, so I don’t need the stat change. The only stats I run in PvE is zerker anyway.

We made it because we want it as it is, Not because we want to change stats of the fly. Ascended and legendarily weapons are two different animals.

[Specialization]: Possible profs combo

in Elementalist

Posted by: Talyn.3295

Talyn.3295

I’d say the Tempest is a swordsman ele that can use attacks like:
Fire attunement would have movements like ranger sword, might stacking no distance closing attacks like dagger and some fire fields to stack burn to chain with fire grab.

Water attunement would resemble thief sword sword/dagger evasion movements low damage, regen and very light evade.

Air attunement would be like Mesmer movements with sword, blinds and quick attacks, following with a 2-3 second channeling attack for critical damage.

Earth attunement will resemble warrior sword with lots of short duration cripples/ bleed stacks and if we are lucky an attack that applies weakness.

And as for the elite I bet it will be like the thieves Dagger Storm but it spams light conditions like blinds, bleeds, burns, chills and stuns every 2.5 seconds lasting like 8 seconds. It will be a viable version of Tornado but less damage and no knockdown. Cool down let say 90 seconds. Designed to hinder but not destroy foes, grants stability and 33% movement speed. Kind of like a soft get out of jail free card.

But if I have my way she’d fight like Aika in Zetsuen No Tempest. I think the movement of Aika as the Mage of Exodus pretty much is how sword should feel and flow for an elementalist.

I don’t play my ele often. But if they did something like this it could become my new main.

Exactly, been a dream of games for a long time, and it’s never quite come through like they hype it up to be. But seeing some of the mechanics, it looks like they’ll at least be able to get close, my concern moreover is whether it’ll actually be fun or not.

They had the game “done” at one point, but threw it away because it wasn’t good, my best guess is they got everything implemented, played through it and it sucked to play. Lots of issues their idea will create, for example lacking focus, there is such thing as being too big of a sandbox. How do you get players to actually want to work together? Will having NPCs purposefully avoiding you become more of a hassle than something to enjoy? I don’t know, but again, I played EQ for 15 years and in that time had the pleasure of chatting with many of the devs, many of which were put on the EQNext project, and with them at the controls, again if it can be done, they will (some brilliant minds over there).

I will keep an open mind. I really want to see something like this done right. Lord knows there have been enough of them done wrong.

Light’s Judgement vs Well of Suffering

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Well_of_Suffering

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Im seeing a trend of godly overpowered skills on the new specs so far. But im willing to bet necro doesnt get anything anywhere near that amazing.

You feel bad for Necros? Guardians have gotten traps, just like Rangers do have, with the slight difference that the Guardian traps will be godly on a fairly long cooldown while the Ranger traps are currently useless in PvE and only really make sense in one specific build in PvP. Guardians have also gotten the LB and their skillrotation seems more powerful than the Ranger LB, from a utility standpoint especially.
I guess we have to wait what the actual damage will look like, but I foresee many PewPewRangers becoming PewPewGuardians.

https://youtu.be/0tdsL4kvp_I

In all seriousness. Ranger traps might be awful. But the class itself is in a far better position than necro. And in response to what you said. Guards are getting better traps than rangers. Mesmers are getting better wells than necros. :P

Next step, Necros get better shouts then Guard and Warriors! Support Necro incoming

I hear ya, the entire series is very, very well done.

TBH, one of the reasons I’m enjoying ESO so much is all of the lore. The NPC acting, the books, the stories…while the single player TES titles were indisputably better, they managed to do a really good job of putting immersive storytelling into ESO. From what I’ve seen in GW2 and other games I’ve tried, that’s tough to get right in an MMO. Just leveling in that game is a lot of fun for me. The combat isn’t as good as GW2, but the world, the cultural histories and interactions, the adorable Khajiit…ermagerd.

Uh oh…did I just come out as a closet RPer on the dungeon forum?

>.>
<.<

It’s ok, I’m the same way about the original EQ lore, loved it so much, then they went all weird and it became a bit /meh but was still interested in how the new stuff tied to the old stuff. I’m a sucker for good theological stories.

I do love the Lore from Elder Scrolls. If they ever put it on sale on steam again, I might consider getting it and replaying ESO.

I remember reading though EQ lore way back in the day. Mostly dealing with the historys and the gods. It was really good stuff. I am a sucker for a good story, which is kinda lacking in GW2. Of course the combat here keeps me interested.

There isn’t any reason Anet can’t fix this. We have dungeons in PvE, where tokens are used to buy armor which is salvageable. In fact this is one of the few ways to get some kinda of armor sets or the insignia to make ascended version.

Drop the gold requirement for buying it, and up the amount of WvW tokens, there is no reason why WvW players shouldn’t have the same benefits as PvE players.

Shield of Courage—Instead of simply activating your Virtue of Courage and giving your allies aegis, you’ll now create a shield in front of you that blocks attacks for allies within its radius. With excellent control through positioning, you’ll find that you can block much more efficiently when facing the enemy, though you’ll be exposed from your flanks.

I know we lose ageis, but for some fights, this has some potential right?

How so?

Depending on the duration of the shield it blocks all attacks aimed at the guardian and allies. Where as Ageis only blocks one.
