Not just on Solid ocean, I actually had someone do this on other fractals as well. It’s frustrating that people are not paying attention. Its one of the reasons I don’t like to pug anymore.
So much time and money wasted on raids, They should of never been in this game.
What’s your favorite type of content?
This way I to can make a threat about how it’s a waste of time and money and never should have been added to the game. Even though the fact it exist has nothing to do with me, and doesn’t make my life any worse off then it was before.
For your first forum post you sure did pick a bad topic. This has been beaten to death over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Most of us don’t want them, and hope they never come to this game.
Wish the search feature worked better :/

I really want to see Elona again. I want to trek through the crystal desert. See the giant fallen statues, deal with the Forgotten. I want to fight Palawa Joko. I want to see what has happened there in the past few hundred years, in areas like Vabbi
Ever notice that most of the complaints with Raids is “Legendary armor is locked behind them.”
It’s pretty sad.
Congrats. Nicely done
Quaggans are a lesser race. And an annoying one at that.
The only Quaggan decorations I want for my guild hall is their heads mounted on the wall.
Perhaps I would settle for their head on a pike, but that might be about it.
This is the type of rants that the lack of support for Quaggans has fostered by the Devs. A truely sad day, this guy/girl/it(Asurans are Its fact of life) probably also wants the Elder Dragons to win and for all skills to be removed from game, just press 1 and hope something happens.
Sad sad sad.

The dyes for the backpack and outfit are the same by default.
Is there a way to have outfits restore to their default dyes in the wardrobe?
You can remove them with the dye remover, should put you back to default colors.
Lets be honest though, even on higher scales bosses are no threat whatsoever, they just live longer.
Pretty much this, they feel like punching bags these days.
And they will be just as fun as the current ones. Long, no damage, random fears, losing boons, fun times! >_>
I’m fairly confident they’ll be revamping the bad instabilities like Boon Thieves or Boon Fumbler at some point this year as well.
Unfortunatly, after the novelty (is that word correct? Cant check right now) has passed people will go back to 3 swamp runs. New fractals and new instabilities wont solve the problem.
It would for me. I enjoy running other fractals. But those instabilities usually keep me from swamping things up to much. I will throw in a snow blind sometimes just to break the shear boredom of swamps.
If boon fumbler, boon thief, afflicted and Last laugh were changed I would be very happy.
So rather than adapt to the antiglass mechanics, Anet needs to make things easier for all the leet glass players. K
Normaly I don’t feed trolls but why not.
I said nothing about glass gear. What I am referring to was the annoying instabilities.
As for glass gear gw2 is so easy there isn’t a reason to run anything else. There is nothing leet about it.
Anti-glass instabilities…
Making vague…. statements is not a counter argument I can do that too
Look you can complain about anti-glass mechanics and pretend its not because they make your play style harder, but if that is all you complain about, then it looks like you just dislike anti-glass mechanics.
I will respond to your post one last time. But if you can’t be bothered to read or give a good counter argument I will just ignore them from now on.
1. I never completed about anything anti glass.
I am still running the same glass builds now as I was before.
2. For the instabilities to be anti glass it would indicate that they would invalidate glass gear or at least make glass gear harder to play.
They don’t. I find glass gear just as effective as before. None of these instabilities have changed that.
3. It would also indicate that these instabilities are some how harder for a glass group then a standard throw together group with who knows what kind of armor.
Again they are not. My group blasted through the last laugh fractals with me only changing one set of traits for my guard. In the boon fumbler I litterly face tanked mossman on my warrior with no dodges because my friend on guard played so well I didn’t have too.
Never in any of my post did I complain about these instabilities being anti glass. I called them annoying. Nothing more. I don’t know if you are projecting your own frustration at it being anti glass into this or what. But I never said anything about them being harder or them being anti glass.
Good day

We got like three of these threads on the first page of the dungeon forums. Do we really need another one?
Anet has made their stance on dungeons clear.
There have been almost no updates to them, since the dungeon team got disbanded.
Every other week there was a “Nerf Zerker thread” I think they were just happy to have us all forget about them.
So I wouldn’t count on any changes in the loot tables, they can still be profitable, if you run the right ones, but that is mostly due to drops.
I haven’t played FFXIV (and don’t play games with monthly fees), but I’ve played The Secret World (TSW) since they got rid of their monthly fees.
The big difference is that while boss attacks are dodgeable AoEs in each, GW2 has boons and combo fields that are usually based on close proximity to the source, while TSW has a lot more flexibility in how far apart you can be and still assist the rest of your party. As a result, positioning matters more in GW2, but this usually takes the form of encouraging stacking to share boons and combo fields, whereas there is little incentive to stack in TSW.
The Vale Guardian gives a disincentive to stack in that people have to run to the green circles. If not for that, it would be better to stack and push the seekers away, only dodging the teleports and coming back again after. So, Anet is trying to think of ways to disincentivize stacking. Personally, I think they should nerf might, as getting 25 stacks of might ends up being one of the most important things to do, and there should exist more strategies that could be just as effective as stacking might.
The Necro is strong in this thread.
Personally I never look at the clock while I am raiding. But if the timer bothers you there was a great suggestion here while back as to how to fix it.
Step one: Find a piece of dark colored tape.
Step two: Put it over the clock in the corner of your screen.
Step three: Play and enjoy.
/thread.
no, spirit weapons in their current iteration is NOT fine and never WILL be fine.
they’ll either remain worthless or buffed to such ridiculous levels that they’re essentially turret engies 2.0
having AI play for you is bad game design. spirit weapons in GW1 enhanced your attacks with different functionality (giving AoE damage, armor piercing, life steal etc)
Shiro’s heal is a step in the right direction of what spirit weapons should do.
I am all for this. Rather then adding more AI, we should look at what the Ritualist were given in Guild Wars 1.
Skills such as Splinter Weapon For the Spirit Bow http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Splinter_Weapon
Skills like Great Dwarf Weapon for the Spirit Hammer http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Great_Dwarf_Weapon
Spirit Sword

Kinda like the Shield as it is for high end fractals, but http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Xinrae%27s_Weapon or
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Weapon_of_Remedy maybe?
Until a few updates ago it was possible to be level 80 during the prologue section, with out down scaling , through the use of the bank golem and tomes. At that point it was funny to one shot the vets and the champ boss with just auto attacks.
Level 1 champ vs level 80 player for lols
Doesnt it take longer to split a stack of insights than it does to change a chat code?
You split them into the required stacks BEFORE the ping sequence is given – after you have you splits done the required ping sequence is given. Then you must ping the said split stacks in a certain order during a period of time that would be shorter than what it would take you to change chat codes.
…………….

Why yes it’s going to take so much time /sarcasm.You do realize i can make any number of a valid stack faster than you can blink right ?
I was trying to stay out of this discussion, mostly cause I don’t care one way or the other who makes you ping what.
But making someone display their all their character info, including bags and insights on gw2efficiency kinda negates any use of those codes. Now of course you can say well in that case I won’t let them look at my stuff, which of course amounts to the same thing, you just got filtered.
Most raiders have an account, you can look in what they have in their bags. Right then you can see if they have the wrong gear in their bags or if they don’t have the insight requirement.
It’s kinda a moot point, ya know?
I understand your point. I was also staying out of it till the what was easily the most ignorant comment i’ve seen was made.
It all boils down to this, people who want to raid will find a way to raid. Legitimately or otherwise. Eventually, this will happen https://youtu.be/78ICiQKdO-Q?t=22s
Yeah, I hear ya. It falls on both sides. So I don’t want to point fingers at either.
I enjoy having harder content in the game. I am sure that there are alot of people who want to do that content as well. Some of them have done it and are still struggling with it, thus wanting to increase the odds of success by finding other players who they believe are skilled.
The other side is you have players who missed that initial first wave of raids. And desperately want to explore and try this content. Some of them have the skills and could probably easily learn how, if given the chance.
I know, because I was in the later group. When raids were finally dropped I was up to my ears in Fallout 4. Still am now and then. Thankfully I have a pretty decent guild and even nicer friends who were willing to help catch me up to speed and give me a spot in one of our raiding teams.
This also meant I had to pulls some overtime watching kill videos and learning mechanics so that I would have at least a basic understanding of the fights before I went in.
It took me two weeks of playing, raiding once a week to get my eternal title. I can only attribute part of this to my own skill. The rest of it came from having a great group of players to run with.
The problem is that not everyone has the means to get that support from friends or their guild. I am sure given time that raids will be more pug friendly. But it won’t be any time soon, until then we will just see more of these kinda threads where people are asking for requirements to prove you are worth taking a chance on and letting in their raid group.
Now “casuals” will call for the removal of gw2efficiency…………..
They already have… at least once.
Doesnt it take longer to split a stack of insights than it does to change a chat code?

It’s good trolling ping some silly berserkker gear first and then change some tank gear on.
In which case people can just require you give them you gw2efficiency account info, and if they see you have tanky gear in your bag going into a raid kick you. There are always ways to filter bads.
Give that the game has been out for over three years now, and that Evon Gnashblade has been running the Black Lion Trading post for all that time, taking 15% of all our gold. Just how much gold does he have now?
I would imagination with all the small transactions and and all the big ones that it has to be an insane number. Do you all keep track of the gold sink? Just for my morbid curiosity?
Thanks
Pre mastery system, levelling awarded spirit shards… i don’t see why they removed that… i hate seeing exp flashing up on screen and going to waste.
You may be mistaken, as Spirit Shards were never awarded for filling the XP bar.
I like the idea of receiving the current Map Bonus reward, though I’m not sure what one would receive if one happened to level up in a Starter Zone or City.
You’re either very new and simply don’t know this or arguing semantics and very wrong. You use to get skill points for filling your xp bar, hero points were split up and renamed to spirit shards and hero points. So yes, you got spirit shards for filling your xp bar.
Old skill points you had accumulated prior to the patch that split Hero Points and Spirit Shards got converted, yes.
However, AFTER the patch you never got anything for filling your experience bar. You never directly got Spirit Shards for overfilling experience, you only got spirit shards from skill points you had BEFORE the patch happened.
So yes, saying you never got spirit shards directly for experience is correct.
Like I said, you’re arguing semantics. Renaming something does not mean it is new. They function exactly like skill points and was renamed from skill points. They are exactly what they appear to be, renamed skill points and thus earned from xp once upon a time.
What he is saying is after the patch that renamed Skill points to Spirit shards, your xp bar would still fill up and top off just as it had before. But you got nothing for it. This happened every since that change up until the point when the mastery system was released with HoT, at least a month, although not sure of the how long since I can’t recall the exact date that patch dropped.
So yes you are right about the renaming not being important, but his point about wasted XP stands. I think most people didn’t notice it because the bar kept filling, unlike now where it just sets there after you max out everything.
I mentioned this myself the last time some one complained about this.
So for Trinkets.
Ascended = Sinister
Exotic = VipersRight?
Ascended vipers would be best, but they are difficult to get right now. But exotic vipers would be better then the ascended sinister
The only issue if have with the trading post is the people who put things on there for one copper over the minimum buy order.
Example: Say Seasoned Wood sells for 4 silver 89 copper and the buy order is 3 silver 96 copper. Then someone list theirs for 3 silver 97 copper which to people not paying attention I suppose would cause the buy orders to fill faster, which I suppose is the point. Who ever put that buy order in for 3 silver 96 copper is really cleaning up on all the people who don’t pay attention.
Yeah, avoid the cele trinkets. You won’t need them if you are running a necro.
I agree wholeheartedly. Though for me the biggest reason to instance it isn’t anything you listed (though they are valid issues), but rather the amount of time the adventure remains unlocked. Its only unlocked after finishing almost the entire Nobles questline of Verdant Brink during the daytime, which is not very long at all for an adventure that requires so much practice. If it was instanced, as long as you got in during the unlock period you could stay and keep practicing as long as you want.
Good point as well. There isn’t to much time to play around with it after the event ends before nightfall.
With a group of friends or a guild will usually let you run with a bit more flexibility in raids, but I think even there it is good to have a meta toon or two to help when everyone is having a bad night.
Since you said pugging though, this is my take on each and what you might consider.
I think you can do alot with a Reaper if you wanted too. There might be some classes who do it better. But I know several raid groups that use Reapers for tanks or for DPS or condi roles. So if you enjoy it look into some options for what would make it most optimal. I myself have been having alot of fun with my reaper lately.
I would suggest Rev, I think even with the upcoming nerf to their Auto Attack chain they will still be very good for their boon duration. They also come with some nice features like projectile blocks which can help out alot in certain fractals.
Warrior – easy to play in pugs, PS is a good might stacking machine, but it won’t give you the carry capacity other classes will. And they are a dime a dozen if you are looking to pug. Also Viper gear is kinda expensive to make.
Mesmer is also good in both raiding and fractals, although you would be expected to tank . Not sure how this will be affected with the Alacrity nerf that is coming up though.
engi – Their condi damage is really great, but they are alot harder to play then the condi warrior. Although they do have alot more utility that you can bring. but for me they make my fingers and brain hurt after a while keeping track of all their cool downs.
ranger – Most raid groups will have one of these, or someone fitting the healing role. Not alot of choice after how Anet set up their raids with Auras. If you are thinking of this rout I would really study up on the videos. I wouldn’t try healers in fractals, but that is my opinion, I guess it can’t hurt that someone is healing if people don’t know what they are doing, and there are alot of pugs who don’t.
guardian – This was my main for almost 3 years. They are pretty great at carrying people through fractals. Not very high in demand for raids right now, although this isn’t to say they are awful, just not as good at filling some roles as others. I had great success with this during the last laugh fractals when we were doing them by using communal defense and dropping as much aegis as possible trough traps, shouts and shield spam.
Ele- One of my personal favorites. The new Tempest is alot of fun to play. They are great at dealing out DPS and have a solid spot in both Raids and Fractals due to their utility and DPS potential.
thief – Kinda in the same boat as guardian. They are good for helping with skips blinds can help in fractals quite a bit. But they are not really wanted for Raid teams as of yet.
While trying to get gold on the Shooting Gallery I frequently find people running between me and the target makes it even more annoying. Not to mention the cross hairs are a super small little white dot that blends into the background into peoples armors and what not. If other adventures are instanced why isn’t this one?
Not sure about anyone else but I find this particularly annoying.
yes, you can use your precursor as a weapon until you decide to make your legendary.
Dusk has been saying for weeks this was supposed to be patched with the 26th update, how did we get another thread on this.
How do we end up with multi threads on anything?
Not sure if ten thiefs could be do able. Granted its possible, but the extreme lack of healing is going to be the thing holding a full 10 man thief group back.
I recall a video of it being tried, but I can’t find the link right now.
Just got a mysterious gold fractal shield appear in my inventory after doing my dailies before opening my chests. I noticed it in my exotic bag. Since i only do page dailies usually i find it hard to believe i got it on a previous day and didnt notice. Can anyone confirm they do come from the page daily chests sometimes or boss chests? I havent done 50+ dailies for over a month either. No idea where it came from x)
I believe I got a golden scepter weapon from a daily page box a few days ago, but that has been the only time I have ever gotten one from it.
Great idea. To bad people don’t read before they post
I think most of us who replied read it. And took it for the Troll post that it was.
So the word mount is a trigger word now? Micro aggression? Lol
I think we all see what you are trying to do here :P
I am not talking about something you ride, but something that is actually mounted on the wall!
We all have our home instances. How awesome would it be if you had a wall dedicated to mounting the heads or miniatures of major bosses you have slain with a little short sentence of appreciation from the people affected by the boss.
Example: The People of Queensdale rejoice that Player Name has vanquished the Shadow Behemoth of Godslost Swamlp!"
It is a far more visual representation of what you have accomplished than simply tabbing through your hero panel.
Cool or no?
Wonder why we have all these threads about this now. This change has been in effect for a while now. Since well before HoT, and skillpoint scrolls were replaced with spirit shards. Every time we leveled up for almost a month or more we got nothing from it, not saying that was right, just saying it seems a little late to worry about this now.
No to visual clutter. That is all mounts really are in other games anyway.
I don’t want to see this every time I try to talk to a merchant or NPC
If you need help hit me up in game, as long as I don’t have any thing else going I would be happy to lend you a hand with claiming your guild hall.
meh, give me an option to hide both tags (I own both but seldom use either one)
And I am happy.
I have a problem with all this support for making fights as mechanical as possible. VG and Sabetha both have a lot of mechanics to deal with. And as a result it feels less like you are fighting the boss and more like you are fighting the mechanics/arena. I dont find that fun.
On the other hand Gorseval is much more about the boss itself. Its a lot more fun. But as a result its easier once you get the dps check and basic mechanics sorted. The thing is that style can be really good if its expanded on.
PREACH. IT.
I think the intention for the Sabetha fight is that you are fighting the arena. Sure, you’re fighting Sabetha, but you’re fighting all of the bandits in the camp, and they’re all working together to kill you by firing cannons at you, and destroying the platform under your feet, making you fall to your death while they clearly have the ability to survive (Sabetha can shadowstep away). This actually leads to what feels like a more engaging fight to me because I feel like I need to make sure my friends aren’t killed by bandits while also trying to focus on taking down their leader. That kind of effort is exciting!
We all have our favorite boss, and I don’t think any of us will many anyone else feel that their selection for their favorite is invalidated. I like Gorv, and I probably will find him my favorite for the forseeable future. I don’t like all the hopping around with the platforms on Sabetha, I perfer to be fighting not running to a green circle or to a platform to be launched up to stop a cannon etc. but if you like those mechanics that’s cool. I am sure we will see more of both kinds of fights as there are more raids introduced to the game.
It is my hope that the with future raid wings that they will be alot less predictable. I am fine with it in Raid wing one, as I figure there are players who are going to need that predictability in addition to whatever other help they can get. However for the rest of us, I hope that raid Wing two and beyond keeps us guessing not counting Blue Circles/Eggs in 3.21.
RAIDS come down to 3 issues (the same 3 issues that plague every other MMO out there)
1. Community
2. personal skill level
3. willing to work with othersI definitely am seeing issue with #1 and #3 with in the raid system right now. While #2 is more of a learning curve most of the time.
IMHO, the raiding community just sucks. The Ego’s are high, the insults fly, and the cost of dealing with that is just not worth it within the Pug scene. Which is why there are Guilds.
But, a lot of Guilds are starting to go way of the Pug community now too. They think ‘Oh we can beat this super hard raid, we are kitten and deserve better players!’.
its an endless cycle that hits every MMO, and IMHO, the current raids are not worth this stress from it. They offer NOTHING that you cannot get from other areas of the game (except ‘legendary’ armor, big Woop!).
Raids were supposed to be a challenge for players that felt the rest of the PVE mode was not enough. But now its turned into this uncontrollable ego power house.
And yes, I bought HoT so I can raid. Yes, Anet said they would be challenging. But the current form of raids are beyond anything that was promised and its tearing the community apart.
Something is going to have to change.
Overreact much?
I myself am part of a guild that has set up several teams to complete content. Many of our better players who are on team one, spend extra nights a week helping players from Team 2 and 3 through the Raid content because those players are newer or need more practice with the content. There is a limit as to how much they can be rewarded during the week, but they still come back each time to help when ask.
There has been no ego trip and the whole “We are the best you are not so you have to leave/not be part of our raid group.” The only time anyone has ever been removed from a raid team as when they haven’t showed up for Raids and didn’t let anyone know, even then they are given a second chance about it.
I have even pugged raids a few times to see how it goes with a pug group. Becasue we all know PuGs can be toxic. But you know what, I was surprised that Even alot of the Pug groups I joined were nice and didn’t rage when there were deaths and wipes. We had people calling out things that needed improvement for other players. But I don’t see that as a bad thing. And I don’t see these Ego Powerhouses you speak of.
People need to not have such thin skin. Even before when there were all the complaints about how toxic zerker groups were. I found they were usually the most chill, relaxed and nicest pugs to be with, as long as you met the requirement they were asking for. You can’t blame people for being jerks or hostile if you are in yourself doing the same by not reading or following what is ask.
How long do you think a professional football team is going to put up with one player doing his own thing when the coach calls out a play? Instanced content easy -mode: Dungeons or the semi-harder mode: Raids is a team effort, you have to be a team player and part of the community if you expect anyone to accept you.
If I can join a random group of players and beat all three bosses, some of which without any of the group dying I don’t see where Raids are all that difficult that they are excluding players.
1. Community: There are bad members of the community. There are good members, there are scrubs there are pugs there are those special snowflakes who refuse to adapt. I know, I have people who fall into all those groups on my friends list.
2. Personal Skill level: It’s high time that Anet did something to encourage people to get better at this game. It was one of the easiest games I have ever played. People could litterly know next to nothing about the game, and still get carried through all the while making things harder on the rest of their group. I am sure all the comments from the community and other sources on the web about how GW2 was a kiddy game kinda hurt a bit. So if people want to raid, they have to decide to improve.
3. willing to work with others: Many of us are already willing to work with others. It’s a two way street. If the person I am taking into the Raid isn’t willing to change skills or customize their build for the encounter, then I don’t want them in my group. If that makes me an Ego Powerhouse, so be it.
The eggs on gorseval are an attention and skill check. its a simple yet punishing mechanic. But it doesnt take focus away from the boss like VG lightning and Sabetha cannons do. Add more mechanics like that and you can create really challenging fights without taking focus away from the bosses.
I want to see more fights like Gorseval that have reactionary mechanics. A few arena mechanics is fine. But i think they should be more side focused and more about making it easier for yourself if you deal with them more effectively. Like Gorse orbs and add clearing. Neither of those are absolutely essential to deal with perfectly. But there are reasons to ignore or focus on those mechanics given the situation. The updraft stuff is fine as well simply because its not a constant mechanic. Its a few times per fight which makes it less tedious.
He was my favorite boss too, although I couldn’t exactly say why until I read this. I agree with you. I think that I like him more because its reactionary and not arena mechanics. Not that i dislike the other two, I just like him better.
Dungeon rewards were nerfed, since most players were only doing them for the rewards you won’t find any groups. You can still of course make your own listing and they will still fill, just takes longer.
You know. I am glad we had this talk. I guess I just don’t know what fun is. I mean I would have thought by this point in my life I would know what I enjoy and what I don’t. Maybe you would be so nice as to follow me around for a day and tell me when I am supposed to have fun and when I am not. This way I could have a point of reference.
I enjoy instanced content with my friends. Not following some blob around the map. I also for some strange reason like to be rewarded for my time. I know isn’t that strange. I mean why would I need gold to pay for food and utility items. Or other items in game.
Right now I enjoy raids because they have a semi high challenge. But lets be honest it isnt a skill check like other games such as dark souls.
But I liked dungeons for how quickly they could be done. Either when I was low on time or just needed some cash.
P.S. I don’t know what kind of sad life a person would have to have to put a video game on a resume for a high ranking postion. I would laugh them out of my office. Call me old fashion but I don’t buy it.

I just don’t get what is about dungeons that people liked so much and want them back the way they were before HoT. Seriously what is that you people found enjoyable?!
-The strict comp. of 4 classes?
-The stealth skip of almost all trash mobs?
-The Pseudo elitism?
-The fact that people would not deviate from their fake meta because on paper it would cost them 15 seconds longer fight?
-The fact that 90% of the tactics were IceBow#4?I could go on all day…
I’m I the only one who is very very happy to see dungeons abandoned?
It’s so nice to open LFG for a change and not see “MetaZerk ONLY”, 2 eles/PSwarr/GRD
It’s so nice to have content that is not being destroyed by IceBows/FGS/YouNameIt…
It’s so nice to see bosses having time to use their mechanics for a change…
It’s nice to have any kind of end game where people are not trying to record run it for once…
Kinda like dried out moldy bread sitting on the counter because the bag was left unintended. You’re glad that spoiled food is out of your living space but at the same time would have preferred that the bread loaf was not spoiled in the first place so you could enjoy it.
This 1000 times.
I would love to see updated dungeons that are actually challenging & fun and not a farmfest. Although if I had to pick between bringing them back the way they were before or leave them abandoned, I would leave them abandoned a million times.
Of course you could could have done everything you posted by making your own group, but of course your feel so entitled that you think everyone has to carry you with your snowflake build. So you are happy others got their fun ruined so that you could do something you could have done anyway
